Ayah 1:1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
بِسْمِ
bis'mi
In (the) name
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ
l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ
l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
In the name of Allāh,1 the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.2

1:2
Ayah 1:2
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
ٱلْحَمْدُ
al-ḥamdu
All praises and thanks
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
(be) to Allah
رَبِّ
rabbi
the Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
of the universe
[All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Lord1 of the worlds -

Ayah 1:3
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ
al-raḥmāni
The Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ
l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
The Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

1:4
Ayah 1:4
مَـٰلِكِ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
مَـٰلِكِ
māliki
(The) Master
يَوْمِ
yawmi
(of the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ
l-dīni
(of the) Judgment
Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.1

1:5
Ayah 1:5
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
إِيَّاكَ
iyyāka
You Alone
نَعْبُدُ
naʿbudu
we worship
وَإِيَّاكَ
wa-iyyāka
and You Alone
نَسْتَعِينُ
nastaʿīnu
we ask for help
It is You we worship and You we ask for help.

1:6
Ayah 1:6
ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
ٱهْدِنَا
ih'dinā
Guide us
ٱلصِّرَٰطَ
l-ṣirāṭa
(to) the path
ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
l-mus'taqīma
the straight
Guide us to the straight path -

1:7
Ayah 1:7
صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
صِرَٰطَ
ṣirāṭa
(The) path
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(of) those
أَنْعَمْتَ
anʿamta
You have bestowed (Your) Favors
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
on them
غَيْرِ
ghayri
not (of)
ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ
l-maghḍūbi
those who earned (Your) wrath
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
on themselves
وَلَا
walā
and not
ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
l-ḍālīna
(of) those who go astray
The path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have earned [Your] anger or of those who are astray.
