Ayah 11:1
الٓر ۚ كِتَـٰبٌ أُحْكِمَتْ ءَايَـٰتُهُۥ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتْ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ
الٓر
alif-lam-ra
Alif Lam Ra
كِتَـٰبٌ
kitābun
(This is) a Book
أُحْكِمَتْ
uḥ'kimat
are perfected
ءَايَـٰتُهُۥ
āyātuhu
its Verses
ثُمَّ
thumma
moreover
فُصِّلَتْ
fuṣṣilat
explained in detail
مِن
min
from (he One Who)
لَّدُنْ
ladun
from (he One Who)
حَكِيمٍ
ḥakīmin
(is) All-Wise
خَبِيرٍ
khabīrin
All-Aware
Alif, Lām, Rā.1 [This is] a Book whose verses are perfected and then presented in detail from [one who is] Wise and Aware2

11:2
Ayah 11:2
أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّنِى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ
أَلَّا
allā
That "Not
تَعْبُدُوٓا۟
taʿbudū
you worship
إِلَّا
illā
but
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
إِنَّنِى
innanī
Indeed, I am
لَكُم
lakum
to you
مِّنْهُ
min'hu
from Him
نَذِيرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
وَبَشِيرٌ
wabashīrun
and a bearer of glad tidings
[Through a messenger, saying], "Do not worship except Allāh. Indeed, I am to you from Him a warner and a bringer of good tidings,"

11:3
Ayah 11:3
وَأَنِ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يُمَتِّعْكُم مَّتَـٰعًا حَسَنًا إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَيُؤْتِ كُلَّ ذِى فَضْلٍ فَضْلَهُۥ ۖ وَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ كَبِيرٍ
وَأَنِ
wa-ani
And that
ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟
is'taghfirū
Seek forgiveness
رَبَّكُمْ
rabbakum
(of) your Lord
ثُمَّ
thumma
and
تُوبُوٓا۟
tūbū
turn in repentance
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhi
to Him
يُمَتِّعْكُم
yumattiʿ'kum
He will let you
مَّتَـٰعًا
matāʿan
enjoy
حَسَنًا
ḥasanan
a good
إِلَىٰٓ
ilā
for
أَجَلٍ
ajalin
a term
مُّسَمًّى
musamman
appointed
وَيُؤْتِ
wayu'ti
And give
كُلَّ
kulla
(to) every
ذِى
dhī
owner
فَضْلٍ
faḍlin
(of) grace
فَضْلَهُۥ
faḍlahu
His Grace
وَإِن
wa-in
But if
تَوَلَّوْا۟
tawallaw
you turn away
فَإِنِّىٓ
fa-innī
then indeed, I
أَخَافُ
akhāfu
fear
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
for you
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba
(the) punishment
يَوْمٍ
yawmin
(of) a Great Day
كَبِيرٍ
kabīrin
(of) a Great Day
And [saying], "Seek forgiveness of your Lord and repent to Him, [and] He will let you enjoy a good provision for a specified term and give every doer of favor his favor [i.e., reward]. But if you turn away, then indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a great Day.

11:4
Ayah 11:4
إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
إِلَى
ilā
To
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
مَرْجِعُكُمْ
marjiʿukum
(is) your return
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
قَدِيرٌ
qadīrun
All-Powerful
To Allāh is your return, and He is over all things competent."

11:5
Ayah 11:5
أَلَآ إِنَّهُمْ يَثْنُونَ صُدُورَهُمْ لِيَسْتَخْفُوا۟ مِنْهُ ۚ أَلَا حِينَ يَسْتَغْشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمْ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
أَلَآ
alā
No doubt
إِنَّهُمْ
innahum
They
يَثْنُونَ
yathnūna
fold up
صُدُورَهُمْ
ṣudūrahum
their breasts
لِيَسْتَخْفُوا۟
liyastakhfū
that they may hide
مِنْهُ
min'hu
from Him
أَلَا
alā
Surely
حِينَ
ḥīna
when
يَسْتَغْشُونَ
yastaghshūna
they cover (themselves)
ثِيَابَهُمْ
thiyābahum
(with) their garments
يَعْلَمُ
yaʿlamu
He knows
مَا
what
يُسِرُّونَ
yusirrūna
they conceal
وَمَا
wamā
and what
يُعْلِنُونَ
yuʿ'linūna
they reveal
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
عَلِيمٌۢ
ʿalīmun
(is) All-Knower
بِذَاتِ
bidhāti
of what
ٱلصُّدُورِ
l-ṣudūri
(is in) the breasts
Unquestionably, they [i.e., the disbelievers] turn away their breasts to hide themselves from him. Unquestionably, [even] when they cover themselves in their clothing, He [i.e., Allāh] knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

11:6
Ayah 11:6
۞ وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رِزْقُهَا وَيَعْلَمُ مُسْتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا ۚ كُلٌّ فِى كِتَـٰبٍ مُّبِينٍ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
مِن
min
any
دَآبَّةٍ
dābbatin
moving creature
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
إِلَّا
illā
but
عَلَى
ʿalā
on
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
رِزْقُهَا
riz'quhā
(is) its provision
وَيَعْلَمُ
wayaʿlamu
And He knows
مُسْتَقَرَّهَا
mus'taqarrahā
its dwelling place
وَمُسْتَوْدَعَهَا
wamus'tawdaʿahā
and its place of storage
كُلٌّ
kullun
All
فِى
(is) in
كِتَـٰبٍ
kitābin
a Record
مُّبِينٍ
mubīnin
clear
And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allāh is its provision, and He knows its place of dwelling and place of storage.1 All is in a clear register.

11:7
Ayah 11:7
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَكَانَ عَرْشُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلْمَآءِ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۗ وَلَئِن قُلْتَ إِنَّكُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ ٱلْمَوْتِ لَيَقُولَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
(is) the One Who
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
فِى
in
سِتَّةِ
sittati
six
أَيَّامٍ
ayyāmin
epochs
وَكَانَ
wakāna
and His throne was
عَرْشُهُۥ
ʿarshuhu
and His throne was
عَلَى
ʿalā
on
ٱلْمَآءِ
l-māi
the water
لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ
liyabluwakum
that He might test [you]
أَيُّكُمْ
ayyukum
which of you
أَحْسَنُ
aḥsanu
(is) best
عَمَلًا
ʿamalan
(in) deed
وَلَئِن
wala-in
But if
قُلْتَ
qul'ta
you say
إِنَّكُم
innakum
Indeed, you
مَّبْعُوثُونَ
mabʿūthūna
(will be) resurrected
مِنۢ
min
after
بَعْدِ
baʿdi
after
ٱلْمَوْتِ
l-mawti
[the] death
لَيَقُولَنَّ
layaqūlanna
surely would say
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوٓا۟
kafarū
disbelieved
إِنْ
in
This is not
هَـٰذَآ
hādhā
This is not
إِلَّا
illā
but
سِحْرٌ
siḥ'run
a magic
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnun
clear
And it is He who created the heavens and the earth in six days - and His Throne had been upon water - that He might test you as to which of you is best in deed. But if you say, "Indeed, you are resurrected after death," those who disbelieve will surely say, "This is not but obvious magic."

11:8
Ayah 11:8
وَلَئِنْ أَخَّرْنَا عَنْهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٍ مَّعْدُودَةٍ لَّيَقُولُنَّ مَا يَحْبِسُهُۥٓ ۗ أَلَا يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمْ لَيْسَ مَصْرُوفًا عَنْهُمْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
وَلَئِنْ
wala-in
And if
أَخَّرْنَا
akharnā
We delay
عَنْهُمُ
ʿanhumu
from them
ٱلْعَذَابَ
l-ʿadhāba
the punishment
إِلَىٰٓ
ilā
for
أُمَّةٍ
ummatin
a time
مَّعْدُودَةٍ
maʿdūdatin
determined
لَّيَقُولُنَّ
layaqūlunna
they will surely say
مَا
What
يَحْبِسُهُۥٓ
yaḥbisuhu
detains it
أَلَا
alā
No doubt
يَوْمَ
yawma
(On) the Day
يَأْتِيهِمْ
yatīhim
it comes to them
لَيْسَ
laysa
not
مَصْرُوفًا
maṣrūfan
(will be) averted
عَنْهُمْ
ʿanhum
from them
وَحَاقَ
waḥāqa
and will surround
بِهِم
bihim
them
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used (to)
بِهِۦ
bihi
mock at [it]
يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
yastahziūna
mock at [it]
And if We hold back from them the punishment for a limited time, they will surely say,1 "What detains it?" Unquestionably, on the Day it comes to them, it will not be averted from them, and they will be enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

11:9
Ayah 11:9
وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةً ثُمَّ نَزَعْنَـٰهَا مِنْهُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيَـُٔوسٌ كَفُورٌ
وَلَئِنْ
wala-in
And if
أَذَقْنَا
adhaqnā
We give man a taste
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
l-insāna
We give man a taste
مِنَّا
minnā
(of) Mercy from Us
رَحْمَةً
raḥmatan
(of) Mercy from Us
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
نَزَعْنَـٰهَا
nazaʿnāhā
We withdraw it
مِنْهُ
min'hu
from him
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
indeed, he
لَيَـُٔوسٌ
layaūsun
(is) despairing
كَفُورٌ
kafūrun
(and) ungrateful
And if We give man a taste of mercy from Us and then We withdraw it from him, indeed, he is despairing and ungrateful.

11:10
Ayah 11:10
وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَـٰهُ نَعْمَآءَ بَعْدَ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ ذَهَبَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتُ عَنِّىٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَفَرِحٌ فَخُورٌ
وَلَئِنْ
wala-in
But if
أَذَقْنَـٰهُ
adhaqnāhu
We give him a taste
نَعْمَآءَ
naʿmāa
(of) favor
بَعْدَ
baʿda
after
ضَرَّآءَ
ḍarrāa
hardship
مَسَّتْهُ
massathu
(has) touched him
لَيَقُولَنَّ
layaqūlanna
surely, he will say
ذَهَبَ
dhahaba
Have gone
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتُ
l-sayiātu
the evils
عَنِّىٓ
ʿannī
from me
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, he
لَفَرِحٌ
lafariḥun
(is) exultant
فَخُورٌ
fakhūrun
(and) boastful
But if We give him a taste of favor after hardship has touched him, he will surely say, "Bad times have left me." Indeed, he is exultant and boastful -

11:11
Ayah 11:11
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ
إِلَّا
illā
Except
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
صَبَرُوا۟
ṣabarū
(are) patient
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilū
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
the good deeds
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
those
لَهُم
lahum
for them
مَّغْفِرَةٌ
maghfiratun
(will be) forgiveness
وَأَجْرٌ
wa-ajrun
and a reward
كَبِيرٌ
kabīrun
great
Except for those who are patient and do righteous deeds; those will have forgiveness and great reward.

11:12
Ayah 11:12
فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌۢ بَعْضَ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيْكَ وَضَآئِقٌۢ بِهِۦ صَدْرُكَ أَن يَقُولُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ كَنزٌ أَوْ جَآءَ مَعَهُۥ مَلَكٌ ۚ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ نَذِيرٌ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَكِيلٌ
فَلَعَلَّكَ
falaʿallaka
Then possibly you
تَارِكٌۢ
tārikun
(may) give up
بَعْضَ
baʿḍa
a part
مَا
(of) what
يُوحَىٰٓ
yūḥā
is revealed
إِلَيْكَ
ilayka
to you
وَضَآئِقٌۢ
waḍāiqun
and straitened
بِهِۦ
bihi
by it
صَدْرُكَ
ṣadruka
your breast
أَن
an
because
يَقُولُوا۟
yaqūlū
they say
لَوْلَآ
lawlā
Why not
أُنزِلَ
unzila
is sent down
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
for him
كَنزٌ
kanzun
a treasure
أَوْ
aw
or
جَآءَ
jāa
has come
مَعَهُۥ
maʿahu
with him
مَلَكٌ
malakun
an Angel
إِنَّمَآ
innamā
Only
أَنتَ
anta
you
نَذِيرٌ
nadhīrun
(are) a warner
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
وَكِيلٌ
wakīlun
a Guardian
Then would you possibly leave [out] some of what is revealed to you,1 or is your breast constrained by it because they say, "Why has there not been sent down to him a treasure or come with him an angel?" But you are only a warner. And Allāh is Disposer of all things.

11:13
Ayah 11:13
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖ قُلْ فَأْتُوا۟ بِعَشْرِ سُوَرٍ مِّثْلِهِۦ مُفْتَرَيَـٰتٍ وَٱدْعُوا۟ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
أَمْ
am
Or
يَقُولُونَ
yaqūlūna
they say
ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ
if'tarāhu
He has fabricated it
قُلْ
qul
Say
فَأْتُوا۟
fatū
Then bring
بِعَشْرِ
biʿashri
ten
سُوَرٍ
suwarin
Surahs
مِّثْلِهِۦ
mith'lihi
like it
مُفْتَرَيَـٰتٍ
muf'tarayātin
fabricated
وَٱدْعُوا۟
wa-id'ʿū
and call
مَنِ
mani
whoever
ٱسْتَطَعْتُم
is'taṭaʿtum
you can
مِّن
min
besides Allah
دُونِ
dūni
besides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
besides Allah
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīna
truthful
Or do they say, "He invented it"? Say, "Then bring ten sūrahs like it that have been invented and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides Allāh, if you should be truthful."

11:14
Ayah 11:14
فَإِلَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لَكُمْ فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ بِعِلْمِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَن لَّآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
فَإِلَّمْ
fa-illam
Then if not
يَسْتَجِيبُوا۟
yastajībū
they respond
لَكُمْ
lakum
to you
فَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟
fa-iʿ'lamū
then know
أَنَّمَآ
annamā
that
أُنزِلَ
unzila
it was sent down
بِعِلْمِ
biʿil'mi
with the knowledge of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
with the knowledge of Allah
وَأَن
wa-an
and that
لَّآ
(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
ilāha
god
إِلَّا
illā
except
هُوَ
huwa
Him
فَهَلْ
fahal
Then, would
أَنتُم
antum
you
مُّسْلِمُونَ
mus'limūna
(be) Muslims
And if they do not respond to you - then know that it [i.e., the Qur’ān] was revealed with the knowledge of Allāh1 and that there is no deity except Him. Then,2 would you [not] be Muslims?

11:15
Ayah 11:15
مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَزِينَتَهَا نُوَفِّ إِلَيْهِمْ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ فِيهَا وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يُبْخَسُونَ
مَن
man
Whoever [is]
كَانَ
kāna
Whoever [is]
يُرِيدُ
yurīdu
desires
ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ
l-ḥayata
the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā
(of) the world
وَزِينَتَهَا
wazīnatahā
and its adornments
نُوَفِّ
nuwaffi
We will repay in full
إِلَيْهِمْ
ilayhim
to them
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ
aʿmālahum
(for) their deeds
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
وَهُمْ
wahum
and they
فِيهَا
fīhā
in it
لَا
will not be lessened
يُبْخَسُونَ
yub'khasūna
will not be lessened
Whoever desires the life of this world and its adornments - We fully repay them for their deeds therein,1 and they therein will not be deprived.

11:16
Ayah 11:16
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ إِلَّا ٱلنَّارُ ۖ وَحَبِطَ مَا صَنَعُوا۟ فِيهَا وَبَـٰطِلٌ مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(are) the ones who
لَيْسَ
laysa
(is) not
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
فِى
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhirati
the Hereafter
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلنَّارُ
l-nāru
the Fire
وَحَبِطَ
waḥabiṭa
And (has) gone in vain
مَا
what
صَنَعُوا۟
ṣanaʿū
they did
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
وَبَـٰطِلٌ
wabāṭilun
and (is) worthless
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used (to)
يَعْمَلُونَ
yaʿmalūna
do
Those are the ones for whom there is not in the Hereafter but the Fire. And lost is what they did therein,1 and worthless is what they used to do.

11:17
Ayah 11:17
أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ وَيَتْلُوهُ شَاهِدٌ مِّنْهُ وَمِن قَبْلِهِۦ كِتَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۚ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْأَحْزَابِ فَٱلنَّارُ مَوْعِدُهُۥ ۚ فَلَا تَكُ فِى مِرْيَةٍ مِّنْهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
أَفَمَن
afaman
Then is he who
كَانَ
kāna
is
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
on
بَيِّنَةٍ
bayyinatin
a clear proof
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّهِۦ
rabbihi
his Lord
وَيَتْلُوهُ
wayatlūhu
and recites it
شَاهِدٌ
shāhidun
a witness
مِّنْهُ
min'hu
from Him
وَمِن
wamin
and before it
قَبْلِهِۦ
qablihi
and before it
كِتَـٰبُ
kitābu
(was) a Book
مُوسَىٰٓ
mūsā
(of) Musa
إِمَامًا
imāman
(as) a guide
وَرَحْمَةً
waraḥmatan
and (as) mercy
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
Those
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūna
believe

disbelieves
بِهِۦ

مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلْأَحْزَابِ
l-aḥzābi
the sects
فَٱلنَّارُ
fal-nāru
then the Fire
مَوْعِدُهُۥ
mawʿiduhu
(will be) his promised (meeting) place
فَلَا
falā
So (do) not
تَكُ
taku
be
فِى
in
مِرْيَةٍ
mir'yatin
doubt
مِّنْهُ
min'hu
about it
إِنَّهُ
innahu
Indeed, it
ٱلْحَقُّ
l-ḥaqu
(is) the truth
مِن
min
from
رَّبِّكَ
rabbika
your Lord
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
walākinna
but
أَكْثَرَ
akthara
most
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi
(of) the people
لَا
(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūna
believe
So is one who [stands] upon a clear evidence from his Lord [like the aforementioned]? And a witness1 from Him follows it,2 and before it was the Scripture of Moses to lead and as mercy. Those [believers in the former revelations] believe in it [i.e., the Qur’ān]. But whoever disbelieves in it from the [various] factions - the Fire is his promised destination. So be not in doubt about it. Indeed, it is the truth from your Lord, but most of the people do not believe.

11:18
Ayah 11:18
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْأَشْهَـٰدُ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ أَلَا لَعْنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
وَمَنْ
waman
And who
أَظْلَمُ
aẓlamu
(is) more unjust
مِمَّنِ
mimmani
than (he) who
ٱفْتَرَىٰ
if'tarā
invents
عَلَى
ʿalā
against
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
كَذِبًا
kadhiban
a lie
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
Those
يُعْرَضُونَ
yuʿ'raḍūna
will be presented
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
before
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
their Lord
وَيَقُولُ
wayaqūlu
and will say
ٱلْأَشْهَـٰدُ
l-ashhādu
the witnesses
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāi
These (are)
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
كَذَبُوا۟
kadhabū
lied
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
against
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
their Lord
أَلَا
alā
No doubt
لَعْنَةُ
laʿnatu
(The) curse of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(The) curse of Allah
عَلَى
ʿalā
(is) on
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīna
the wrongdoers
And who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allāh? Those will be presented before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, "These are the ones who lied against their Lord." Unquestionably, the curse of Allāh is upon the wrongdoers.

11:19
Ayah 11:19
ٱلَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُم بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ كَـٰفِرُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
Those who
يَصُدُّونَ
yaṣuddūna
hinder
عَن
ʿan
from
سَبِيلِ
sabīli
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَيَبْغُونَهَا
wayabghūnahā
and seek (in) it
عِوَجًا
ʿiwajan
crookedness
وَهُم
wahum
while they
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
bil-ākhirati
in the Hereafter
هُمْ
hum
[they]
كَـٰفِرُونَ
kāfirūna
(are) disbelievers
Who averted [people] from the way of Allāh and sought to make it [seem] deviant while they, concerning the Hereafter, were disbelievers.

11:20
Ayah 11:20
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ مُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ ۘ يُضَـٰعَفُ لَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۚ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يُبْصِرُونَ
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
Those
لَمْ
lam
not
يَكُونُوا۟
yakūnū
will be
مُعْجِزِينَ
muʿ'jizīna
(able to) escape
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
وَمَا
wamā
and not
كَانَ
kāna
is
لَهُم
lahum
for them
مِّن
min
besides
دُونِ
dūni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
مِنْ
min
any
أَوْلِيَآءَ
awliyāa
protectors
يُضَـٰعَفُ
yuḍāʿafu
And will be doubled
لَهُمُ
lahumu
for them
ٱلْعَذَابُ
l-ʿadhābu
the punishment
مَا
Not
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they were
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
yastaṭīʿūna
able
ٱلسَّمْعَ
l-samʿa
(to) hear
وَمَا
wamā
and not
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used (to)
يُبْصِرُونَ
yub'ṣirūna
see
Those were not causing failure [to Allāh] on earth, nor did they have besides Allāh any protectors. For them the punishment will be multiplied. They were not able to hear, nor did they see.1

11:21
Ayah 11:21
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَسِرُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(are) the ones who
خَسِرُوٓا۟
khasirū
(have) lost
أَنفُسَهُمْ
anfusahum
their souls
وَضَلَّ
waḍalla
and lost
عَنْهُم
ʿanhum
from them
مَّا
(is) what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used
يَفْتَرُونَ
yaftarūna
(to) invent
Those are the ones who will have lost themselves, and lost from them is what they used to invent.

11:22
Ayah 11:22
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ
لَا
No
جَرَمَ
jarama
doubt
أَنَّهُمْ
annahum
that they
فِى
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhirati
the Hereafter
هُمُ
humu
[they]
ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ
l-akhsarūna
(will be) the greatest losers
Assuredly, it is they in the Hereafter who will be the greatest losers.

11:23
Ayah 11:23
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَأَخْبَتُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilū
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
good deeds
وَأَخْبَتُوٓا۟
wa-akhbatū
and humble themselves
إِلَىٰ
ilā
before
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
their Lord
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
those
أَصْحَـٰبُ
aṣḥābu
(are the) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
l-janati
(of) Paradise
هُمْ
hum
they
فِيهَا
fīhā
in it
خَـٰلِدُونَ
khālidūna
(will) abide forever
Indeed, they who have believed and done righteous deeds and humbled themselves to their Lord - those are the companions of Paradise; they will abide eternally therein.

11:24
Ayah 11:24
۞ مَثَلُ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ كَٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْأَصَمِّ وَٱلْبَصِيرِ وَٱلسَّمِيعِ ۚ هَلْ يَسْتَوِيَانِ مَثَلًا ۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
مَثَلُ
mathalu
(The) example
ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ
l-farīqayni
(of) the two parties
كَٱلْأَعْمَىٰ
kal-aʿmā
(is) like the blind
وَٱلْأَصَمِّ
wal-aṣami
and the deaf
وَٱلْبَصِيرِ
wal-baṣīri
and the seer
وَٱلسَّمِيعِ
wal-samīʿi
and the hearer
هَلْ
hal
Are
يَسْتَوِيَانِ
yastawiyāni
they equal
مَثَلًا
mathalan
(in) comparison
أَفَلَا
afalā
Then, will not
تَذَكَّرُونَ
tadhakkarūna
you take heed
The example of the two parties is like the blind and deaf, and the seeing and hearing. Are they equal in comparison? Then, will you not remember?

11:25
Ayah 11:25
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And verily
أَرْسَلْنَا
arsalnā
We sent
نُوحًا
nūḥan
Nuh
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
قَوْمِهِۦٓ
qawmihi
his people
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed, I am
لَكُمْ
lakum
to you
نَذِيرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnun
clear
And We had certainly sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Indeed, I am to you a clear warner

11:26
Ayah 11:26
أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ ۖ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ أَلِيمٍ
أَن
an
That
لَّا
(do) not
تَعْبُدُوٓا۟
taʿbudū
worship
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed, I
أَخَافُ
akhāfu
[I] fear
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
for you
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba
(the) punishment
يَوْمٍ
yawmin
(of) a Day
أَلِيمٍ
alīmin
painful
That you not worship except Allāh. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a painful day."

11:27
Ayah 11:27
فَقَالَ ٱلْمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن قَوْمِهِۦ مَا نَرَىٰكَ إِلَّا بَشَرًا مِّثْلَنَا وَمَا نَرَىٰكَ ٱتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِىَ ٱلرَّأْىِ وَمَا نَرَىٰ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍۭ بَلْ نَظُنُّكُمْ كَـٰذِبِينَ
فَقَالَ
faqāla
So said
ٱلْمَلَأُ
l-mala-u
the chiefs
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(of) those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieved
مِن
min
from
قَوْمِهِۦ
qawmihi
his people
مَا
Not
نَرَىٰكَ
narāka
we see you
إِلَّا
illā
but
بَشَرًا
basharan
a man
مِّثْلَنَا
mith'lanā
like us
وَمَا
wamā
and not
نَرَىٰكَ
narāka
we see you
ٱتَّبَعَكَ
ittabaʿaka
followed [you]
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
هُمْ
hum
[they]
أَرَاذِلُنَا
arādhilunā
(are) the lowest of us
بَادِىَ
bādiya
immature in opinion
ٱلرَّأْىِ
l-rayi
immature in opinion
وَمَا
wamā
And not
نَرَىٰ
narā
we see
لَكُمْ
lakum
in you
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynā
over us
مِن
min
any
فَضْلٍۭ
faḍlin
merit
بَلْ
bal
nay
نَظُنُّكُمْ
naẓunnukum
we think you
كَـٰذِبِينَ
kādhibīna
(are) liars
So the eminent among those who disbelieved from his people said, "We do not see you but as a man like ourselves, and we do not see you followed except by those who are the lowest of us [and] at first suggestion.1 And we do not see in you over us any merit; rather, we think you are liars."

11:28
Ayah 11:28
قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَءَاتَىٰنِى رَحْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِهِۦ فَعُمِّيَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَا وَأَنتُمْ لَهَا كَـٰرِهُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
أَرَءَيْتُمْ
ara-aytum
Do you see
إِن
in
if
كُنتُ
kuntu
I was
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
on
بَيِّنَةٍ
bayyinatin
(the) clear proof
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
وَءَاتَىٰنِى
waātānī
while He has given me
رَحْمَةً
raḥmatan
mercy
مِّنْ
min
from
عِندِهِۦ
ʿindihi
Himself
فَعُمِّيَتْ
faʿummiyat
but (it) has been obscured
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
from you
أَنُلْزِمُكُمُوهَا
anul'zimukumūhā
should We compel you (to accept) it
وَأَنتُمْ
wa-antum
while you (are)
لَهَا
lahā
averse to it
كَـٰرِهُونَ
kārihūna
averse to it
He said, "O my people, have you considered: if I should be upon clear evidence from my Lord while He has given me mercy from Himself but it has been made unapparent to you, should we force it upon you while you are averse to it?

11:29
Ayah 11:29
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَالًا ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُم مُّلَـٰقُوا۟ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَـٰكِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ
wayāqawmi
And O my people
لَآ
not
أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ
asalukum
I ask (of) you
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
for it
مَالًا
mālan
any wealth
إِنْ
in
Not
أَجْرِىَ
ajriya
(is) my reward
إِلَّا
illā
except
عَلَى
ʿalā
from
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَنَا۠
anā
I am
بِطَارِدِ
biṭāridi
going to drive away
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوٓا۟
āmanū
believed
إِنَّهُم
innahum
Indeed, they
مُّلَـٰقُوا۟
mulāqū
(will) be meeting
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
their Lord
وَلَـٰكِنِّىٓ
walākinnī
but I
أَرَىٰكُمْ
arākum
see you
قَوْمًا
qawman
(are) a people
تَجْهَلُونَ
tajhalūna
ignorant
And O my people, I ask not of you for it any wealth. My reward is not but from Allāh. And I am not one to drive away those who have believed. Indeed, they will meet their Lord, but I see that you are a people behaving ignorantly.

11:30
Ayah 11:30
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ مَن يَنصُرُنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ إِن طَرَدتُّهُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ
wayāqawmi
And O my people
مَن
man
Who
يَنصُرُنِى
yanṣurunī
would help me
مِنَ
mina
against
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
إِن
in
if
طَرَدتُّهُمْ
ṭaradttuhum
I drove them away
أَفَلَا
afalā
Then, will not
تَذَكَّرُونَ
tadhakkarūna
you take heed
And O my people, who would protect me from Allāh if I drove them away? Then will you not be reminded?

11:31
Ayah 11:31
وَلَآ أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِندِى خَزَآئِنُ ٱللَّهِ وَلَآ أَعْلَمُ ٱلْغَيْبَ وَلَآ أَقُولُ إِنِّى مَلَكٌ وَلَآ أَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ تَزْدَرِىٓ أَعْيُنُكُمْ لَن يُؤْتِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ خَيْرًا ۖ ٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ ۖ إِنِّىٓ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
وَلَآ
walā
And not
أَقُولُ
aqūlu
I say
لَكُمْ
lakum
to you
عِندِى
ʿindī
(that) with me
خَزَآئِنُ
khazāinu
(are the) treasures
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَلَآ
walā
and not
أَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu
I know
ٱلْغَيْبَ
l-ghayba
the unseen
وَلَآ
walā
and not
أَقُولُ
aqūlu
I say
إِنِّى
innī
that I am
مَلَكٌ
malakun
an Angel
وَلَآ
walā
and not
أَقُولُ
aqūlu
I say
لِلَّذِينَ
lilladhīna
for those whom
تَزْدَرِىٓ
tazdarī
look down upon
أَعْيُنُكُمْ
aʿyunukum
your eyes
لَن
lan
never
يُؤْتِيَهُمُ
yu'tiyahumu
will Allah give them
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
will Allah give them
خَيْرًا
khayran
any good
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
أَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu
knows best
بِمَا
bimā
what
فِىٓ
(is) in
أَنفُسِهِمْ
anfusihim
their souls
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed, I
إِذًا
idhan
then
لَّمِنَ
lamina
(will be) surely of
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīna
the wrongdoers
And I do not tell you that I have the depositories [containing the provision] of Allāh or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel, nor do I say of those upon whom your eyes look down that Allāh will never grant them any good. Allāh is most knowing of what is within their souls. Indeed, I would then be among the wrongdoers [i.e., the unjust]."

11:32
Ayah 11:32
قَالُوا۟ يَـٰنُوحُ قَدْ جَـٰدَلْتَنَا فَأَكْثَرْتَ جِدَٰلَنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
يَـٰنُوحُ
yānūḥu
O Nuh
قَدْ
qad
Indeed
جَـٰدَلْتَنَا
jādaltanā
you disputed with us
فَأَكْثَرْتَ
fa-aktharta
and you (have been) frequent
جِدَٰلَنَا
jidālanā
(in) dispute with us
فَأْتِنَا
fatinā
So bring us
بِمَا
bimā
what
تَعِدُنَآ
taʿidunā
you threaten us (with)
إِن
in
if
كُنتَ
kunta
you are
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
l-ṣādiqīna
the truthful
They said, "O Noah, you have disputed [i.e., opposed] us and been frequent in dispute of us. So bring us what you threaten us, if you should be of the truthful."

11:33
Ayah 11:33
قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَأْتِيكُم بِهِ ٱللَّهُ إِن شَآءَ وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
إِنَّمَا
innamā
Only
يَأْتِيكُم
yatīkum
will bring it (on) you
بِهِ
bihi
will bring it (on) you
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
إِن
in
if
شَآءَ
shāa
He wills
وَمَآ
wamā
and not
أَنتُم
antum
you (are)
بِمُعْجِزِينَ
bimuʿ'jizīna
one who (can) escape (it)
He said, "Allāh will only bring it to you if He wills, and you will not cause [Him] failure.

11:34
Ayah 11:34
وَلَا يَنفَعُكُمْ نُصْحِىٓ إِنْ أَرَدتُّ أَنْ أَنصَحَ لَكُمْ إِن كَانَ ٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَن يُغْوِيَكُمْ ۚ هُوَ رَبُّكُمْ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
وَلَا
walā
And (will) not
يَنفَعُكُمْ
yanfaʿukum
benefit you
نُصْحِىٓ
nuṣ'ḥī
my advice
إِنْ
in
(even) if
أَرَدتُّ
aradttu
I wish
أَنْ
an
to
أَنصَحَ
anṣaḥa
[I] advise
لَكُمْ
lakum
[to] you
إِن
in
if
كَانَ
kāna
it was Allah's
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
it was Allah's
يُرِيدُ
yurīdu
will
أَن
an
to
يُغْوِيَكُمْ
yugh'wiyakum
let you go astray
هُوَ
huwa
He (is)
رَبُّكُمْ
rabbukum
your Lord
وَإِلَيْهِ
wa-ilayhi
and to Him
تُرْجَعُونَ
tur'jaʿūna
you will be returned
And my advice will not benefit you - although I wished to advise you - if Allāh should intend to put you in error. He is your Lord, and to Him you will be returned."

11:35
Ayah 11:35
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖ قُلْ إِنِ ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ فَعَلَىَّ إِجْرَامِى وَأَنَا۠ بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُجْرِمُونَ
أَمْ
am
Or
يَقُولُونَ
yaqūlūna
(do) they say
ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ
if'tarāhu
He has invented it
قُلْ
qul
Say
إِنِ
ini
If
ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ
if'taraytuhu
I have invented it
فَعَلَىَّ
faʿalayya
then on me
إِجْرَامِى
ij'rāmī
(is) my crime
وَأَنَا۠
wa-anā
but I am
بَرِىٓءٌ
barīon
innocent
مِّمَّا
mimmā
of what
تُجْرِمُونَ
tuj'rimūna
crimes you commit
Or do they say [about Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ)], "He invented it"? Say, "If I have invented it, then upon me is [the consequence of] my crime; but I am innocent of what [crimes] you commit."

11:36
Ayah 11:36
وَأُوحِىَ إِلَىٰ نُوحٍ أَنَّهُۥ لَن يُؤْمِنَ مِن قَوْمِكَ إِلَّا مَن قَدْ ءَامَنَ فَلَا تَبْتَئِسْ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ
وَأُوحِىَ
waūḥiya
And it was revealed
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
نُوحٍ
nūḥin
Nuh
أَنَّهُۥ
annahu
That
لَن
lan
will never
يُؤْمِنَ
yu'mina
believe
مِن
min
from
قَوْمِكَ
qawmika
your people
إِلَّا
illā
except
مَن
man
(those) who
قَدْ
qad
have already
ءَامَنَ
āmana
believed
فَلَا
falā
So (do) not
تَبْتَئِسْ
tabta-is
(be) distressed
بِمَا
bimā
by what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they have been
يَفْعَلُونَ
yafʿalūna
doing
And it was revealed to Noah that, "No one will believe from your people except those who have already believed, so do not be distressed by what they have been doing.

11:37
Ayah 11:37
وَٱصْنَعِ ٱلْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا وَلَا تُخَـٰطِبْنِى فِى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُم مُّغْرَقُونَ
وَٱصْنَعِ
wa-iṣ'naʿi
And construct
ٱلْفُلْكَ
l-ful'ka
the ship
بِأَعْيُنِنَا
bi-aʿyuninā
under Our Eyes
وَوَحْيِنَا
wawaḥyinā
and Our inspiration
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تُخَـٰطِبْنِى
tukhāṭib'nī
address Me
فِى
concerning
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ظَلَمُوٓا۟
ẓalamū
wronged
إِنَّهُم
innahum
indeed, they (are)
مُّغْرَقُونَ
mugh'raqūna
the ones (to be) drowned
And construct the ship under Our observation and Our inspiration and do not address Me concerning those who have wronged; indeed, they are [to be] drowned."

11:38
Ayah 11:38
وَيَصْنَعُ ٱلْفُلْكَ وَكُلَّمَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ مَلَأٌ مِّن قَوْمِهِۦ سَخِرُوا۟ مِنْهُ ۚ قَالَ إِن تَسْخَرُوا۟ مِنَّا فَإِنَّا نَسْخَرُ مِنكُمْ كَمَا تَسْخَرُونَ
وَيَصْنَعُ
wayaṣnaʿu
And he was constructing
ٱلْفُلْكَ
l-ful'ka
the ship
وَكُلَّمَا
wakullamā
and every time
مَرَّ
marra
passed
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
by him
مَلَأٌ
mala-on
(the) chiefs
مِّن
min
of
قَوْمِهِۦ
qawmihi
his people
سَخِرُوا۟
sakhirū
they ridiculed
مِنْهُ
min'hu
[of] him
قَالَ
qāla
He said
إِن
in
If
تَسْخَرُوا۟
taskharū
you ridicule
مِنَّا
minnā
us
فَإِنَّا
fa-innā
then we
نَسْخَرُ
naskharu
can ridicule
مِنكُمْ
minkum
you
كَمَا
kamā
as
تَسْخَرُونَ
taskharūna
you ridicule
And he constructed the ship, and whenever an assembly of the eminent of his people passed by him, they ridiculed him. He said, "If you ridicule us, then we will ridicule you just as you ridicule.

11:39
Ayah 11:39
فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَيَحِلُّ عَلَيْهِ عَذَابٌ مُّقِيمٌ
فَسَوْفَ
fasawfa
And soon
تَعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūna
you will know
مَن
man
(on) whom
يَأْتِيهِ
yatīhi
will come
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
a punishment
يُخْزِيهِ
yukh'zīhi
(that) will disgrace him
وَيَحِلُّ
wayaḥillu
and will descend
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
on him
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
a punishment
مُّقِيمٌ
muqīmun
lasting
And you are going to know who will get a punishment that will disgrace him [on earth] and upon whom will descend an enduring punishment [in the Hereafter]."

11:40
Ayah 11:40
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ قُلْنَا ٱحْمِلْ فِيهَا مِن كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ ٱثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقَوْلُ وَمَنْ ءَامَنَ ۚ وَمَآ ءَامَنَ مَعَهُۥٓ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattā
Till
إِذَا
idhā
when
جَآءَ
jāa
came
أَمْرُنَا
amrunā
Our command
وَفَارَ
wafāra
and overflowed
ٱلتَّنُّورُ
l-tanūru
the oven
قُلْنَا
qul'nā
We said
ٱحْمِلْ
iḥ'mil
Load
فِيهَا
fīhā
in it
مِن
min
of
كُلٍّ
kullin
every kind
زَوْجَيْنِ
zawjayni
a pair
ٱثْنَيْنِ
ith'nayni
two
وَأَهْلَكَ
wa-ahlaka
and your family
إِلَّا
illā
except
مَن
man
who
سَبَقَ
sabaqa
has preceded
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
against him
ٱلْقَوْلُ
l-qawlu
the word
وَمَنْ
waman
and whoever
ءَامَنَ
āmana
believed
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
ءَامَنَ
āmana
believed
مَعَهُۥٓ
maʿahu
with him
إِلَّا
illā
except
قَلِيلٌ
qalīlun
a few
[So it was], until when Our command came and the oven overflowed,1 We said, "Load upon it [i.e., the ship] of each [creature] two mates and your family, except those about whom the word [i.e., decree] has preceded, and [include] whoever has believed." But none had believed with him, except a few.

11:41
Ayah 11:41
۞ وَقَالَ ٱرْكَبُوا۟ فِيهَا بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ مَجْر۪ىٰهَا وَمُرْسَىٰهَآ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى لَغَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
وَقَالَ
waqāla
And he said
ٱرْكَبُوا۟
ir'kabū
Embark
فِيهَا
fīhā
in it
بِسْمِ
bis'mi
in the name
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
of Allah
مَجْر۪ىٰهَا
majrahā
(is) its course
وَمُرْسَىٰهَآ
wamur'sāhā
and its anchorage
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
لَغَفُورٌ
laghafūrun
(is) certainly Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌ
raḥīmun
Most Merciful
And [Noah] said, "Embark therein; in the name of Allāh [are] its course and its anchorage. Indeed, my Lord is Forgiving and Merciful."

11:42
Ayah 11:42
وَهِىَ تَجْرِى بِهِمْ فِى مَوْجٍ كَٱلْجِبَالِ وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ ٱبْنَهُۥ وَكَانَ فِى مَعْزِلٍ يَـٰبُنَىَّ ٱرْكَب مَّعَنَا وَلَا تَكُن مَّعَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
وَهِىَ
wahiya
And it
تَجْرِى
tajrī
sailed
بِهِمْ
bihim
with them
فِى
on
مَوْجٍ
mawjin
the waves
كَٱلْجِبَالِ
kal-jibāli
like mountains
وَنَادَىٰ
wanādā
and Nuh called out
نُوحٌ
nūḥun
and Nuh called out
ٱبْنَهُۥ
ib'nahu
(to) his son
وَكَانَ
wakāna
and he was
فِى
[in]
مَعْزِلٍ
maʿzilin
apart
يَـٰبُنَىَّ
yābunayya
O my son
ٱرْكَب
ir'kab
Embark
مَّعَنَا
maʿanā
with us
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَكُن
takun
be
مَّعَ
maʿa
with
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīna
the disbelievers
And it sailed with them through waves like mountains, and Noah called to his son who was apart [from them], "O my son, come aboard with us and be not with the disbelievers."

11:43
Ayah 11:43
قَالَ سَـَٔاوِىٓ إِلَىٰ جَبَلٍ يَعْصِمُنِى مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ ۚ قَالَ لَا عَاصِمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ۚ وَحَالَ بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلْمَوْجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُغْرَقِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
سَـَٔاوِىٓ
saāwī
I will betake myself
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
جَبَلٍ
jabalin
a mountain
يَعْصِمُنِى
yaʿṣimunī
(that) will save me
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلْمَآءِ
l-māi
the water
قَالَ
qāla
He said
لَا
(There is) no
عَاصِمَ
ʿāṣima
protector
ٱلْيَوْمَ
l-yawma
today
مِنْ
min
from
أَمْرِ
amri
the Command of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
the Command of Allah
إِلَّا
illā
except
مَن
man
(on) whom
رَّحِمَ
raḥima
He has mercy
وَحَالَ
waḥāla
And came
بَيْنَهُمَا
baynahumā
(in) between them
ٱلْمَوْجُ
l-mawju
the waves
فَكَانَ
fakāna
so he was
مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلْمُغْرَقِينَ
l-mugh'raqīna
the drowned
[But] he said, "I will take refuge on a mountain to protect me from the water." [Noah] said, "There is no protector today from the decree of Allāh, except for whom He gives mercy." And the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned.

11:44
Ayah 11:44
وَقِيلَ يَـٰٓأَرْضُ ٱبْلَعِى مَآءَكِ وَيَـٰسَمَآءُ أَقْلِعِى وَغِيضَ ٱلْمَآءُ وَقُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَٱسْتَوَتْ عَلَى ٱلْجُودِىِّ ۖ وَقِيلَ بُعْدًا لِّلْقَوْمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
وَقِيلَ
waqīla
And it was said
يَـٰٓأَرْضُ
yāarḍu
O earth
ٱبْلَعِى
ib'laʿī
Swallow
مَآءَكِ
māaki
your water
وَيَـٰسَمَآءُ
wayāsamāu
and O sky
أَقْلِعِى
aqliʿī
Withhold
وَغِيضَ
waghīḍa
And subsided
ٱلْمَآءُ
l-māu
the water
وَقُضِىَ
waquḍiya
and was fulfilled
ٱلْأَمْرُ
l-amru
the Command
وَٱسْتَوَتْ
wa-is'tawat
And it rested
عَلَى
ʿalā
on
ٱلْجُودِىِّ
l-jūdiyi
the Judi
وَقِيلَ
waqīla
And it was said
بُعْدًا
buʿ'dan
Away
لِّلْقَوْمِ
lil'qawmi
with the people
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīna
the wrongdoers
And it was said, "O earth, swallow your water, and O sky, withhold [your rain]." And the water subsided, and the matter was accomplished, and it [i.e., the ship] came to rest on the [mountain of] Jūdiyy. And it was said, "Away with the wrongdoing people."

11:45
Ayah 11:45
وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ رَّبَّهُۥ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ ٱبْنِى مِنْ أَهْلِى وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَأَنتَ أَحْكَمُ ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ
وَنَادَىٰ
wanādā
And Nuh called
نُوحٌ
nūḥun
And Nuh called
رَّبَّهُۥ
rabbahu
(to) his Lord
فَقَالَ
faqāla
and said
رَبِّ
rabbi
O my Lord
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱبْنِى
ib'nī
my son
مِنْ
min
(is) of
أَهْلِى
ahlī
my family
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
and indeed
وَعْدَكَ
waʿdaka
Your promise
ٱلْحَقُّ
l-ḥaqu
(is) true
وَأَنتَ
wa-anta
and You
أَحْكَمُ
aḥkamu
(are) the Most Just
ٱلْحَـٰكِمِينَ
l-ḥākimīna
(of) the judges
And Noah called to his Lord and said, "My Lord, indeed my son is of my family; and indeed, Your promise is true; and You are the most just of judges!"

11:46
Ayah 11:46
قَالَ يَـٰنُوحُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَـٰلِحٍ ۖ فَلَا تَسْـَٔلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ ۖ إِنِّىٓ أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجَـٰهِلِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
يَـٰنُوحُ
yānūḥu
O Nuh
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, he
لَيْسَ
laysa
(is) not
مِنْ
min
of
أَهْلِكَ
ahlika
your family
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
indeed, [he]
عَمَلٌ
ʿamalun
(his) deed
غَيْرُ
ghayru
(is) other than
صَـٰلِحٍ
ṣāliḥin
righteous
فَلَا
falā
so (do) not
تَسْـَٔلْنِ
tasalni
ask Me
مَا
(about) what
لَيْسَ
laysa
not
لَكَ
laka
you have
بِهِۦ
bihi
of it
عِلْمٌ
ʿil'mun
any knowledge
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed, I
أَعِظُكَ
aʿiẓuka
admonish you
أَن
an
lest
تَكُونَ
takūna
you be
مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلْجَـٰهِلِينَ
l-jāhilīna
the ignorant
He said, "O Noah, indeed he is not of your family; indeed, he is [one whose] work was other than righteous, so ask Me not for that about which you have no knowledge. Indeed, I advise you, lest you be among the ignorant."

11:47
Ayah 11:47
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَسْـَٔلَكَ مَا لَيْسَ لِى بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ ۖ وَإِلَّا تَغْفِرْ لِى وَتَرْحَمْنِىٓ أَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
رَبِّ
rabbi
O my Lord
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed, I
أَعُوذُ
aʿūdhu
seek refuge
بِكَ
bika
in You
أَنْ
an
that
أَسْـَٔلَكَ
asalaka
I (should) ask You
مَا
what
لَيْسَ
laysa
not
لِى
I have
بِهِۦ
bihi
of it
عِلْمٌ
ʿil'mun
knowledge
وَإِلَّا
wa-illā
And unless
تَغْفِرْ
taghfir
You forgive
لِى
me
وَتَرْحَمْنِىٓ
watarḥamnī
and You have mercy on me
أَكُن
akun
I will be
مِّنَ
mina
among
ٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ
l-khāsirīna
the losers
[Noah] said, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me, I will be among the losers."

11:48
Ayah 11:48
قِيلَ يَـٰنُوحُ ٱهْبِطْ بِسَلَـٰمٍ مِّنَّا وَبَرَكَـٰتٍ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَىٰٓ أُمَمٍ مِّمَّن مَّعَكَ ۚ وَأُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّهُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
قِيلَ
qīla
It was said
يَـٰنُوحُ
yānūḥu
O Nuh
ٱهْبِطْ
ih'biṭ
Go down
بِسَلَـٰمٍ
bisalāmin
with peace
مِّنَّا
minnā
from Us
وَبَرَكَـٰتٍ
wabarakātin
and blessings
عَلَيْكَ
ʿalayka
on you
وَعَلَىٰٓ
waʿalā
and on
أُمَمٍ
umamin
the nations
مِّمَّن
mimman
from those
مَّعَكَ
maʿaka
with you
وَأُمَمٌ
wa-umamun
But (to other) nations
سَنُمَتِّعُهُمْ
sanumattiʿuhum
We will grant enjoyment
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
يَمَسُّهُم
yamassuhum
will touch them
مِّنَّا
minnā
from Us
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
a punishment
أَلِيمٌ
alīmun
painful
It was said, "O Noah, disembark in security from Us and blessings upon you and upon nations [descending] from those with you. But other nations [of them] We will grant enjoyment; then there will touch them from Us a painful punishment."

11:49
Ayah 11:49
تِلْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهَآ إِلَيْكَ ۖ مَا كُنتَ تَعْلَمُهَآ أَنتَ وَلَا قَوْمُكَ مِن قَبْلِ هَـٰذَا ۖ فَٱصْبِرْ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلْعَـٰقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
تِلْكَ
til'ka
This
مِنْ
min
(is) from
أَنۢبَآءِ
anbāi
the news
ٱلْغَيْبِ
l-ghaybi
(of) the unseen
نُوحِيهَآ
nūḥīhā
(which) We reveal
إِلَيْكَ
ilayka
to you
مَا
Not
كُنتَ
kunta
you were
تَعْلَمُهَآ
taʿlamuhā
knowing it
أَنتَ
anta
you
وَلَا
walā
and not
قَوْمُكَ
qawmuka
your people
مِن
min
from
قَبْلِ
qabli
before
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
this
فَٱصْبِرْ
fa-iṣ'bir
So be patient
إِنَّ
inna
indeed
ٱلْعَـٰقِبَةَ
l-ʿāqibata
the end
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
lil'muttaqīna
(is) for the God fearing
That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muḥammad]. You knew it not, neither you nor your people, before this. So be patient; indeed, the [best] outcome is for the righteous.

11:50
Ayah 11:50
وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا ۚ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥٓ ۖ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا مُفْتَرُونَ
وَإِلَىٰ
wa-ilā
And to
عَادٍ
ʿādin
Aad
أَخَاهُمْ
akhāhum
(We sent) their brother
هُودًا
hūdan
Hud
قَالَ
qāla
He said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
uʿ'budū
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
مَا
not
لَكُم
lakum
(is) for you
مِّنْ
min
any
إِلَـٰهٍ
ilāhin
god
غَيْرُهُۥٓ
ghayruhu
other than Him
إِنْ
in
Not
أَنتُمْ
antum
you
إِلَّا
illā
(are) but
مُفْتَرُونَ
muf'tarūna
inventors
And to ʿAad [We sent] their brother Hūd. He said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him. You are not but inventors [of falsehood].

11:51
Ayah 11:51
يَـٰقَوْمِ لَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِىٓ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
لَآ
Not
أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ
asalukum
I ask you
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
for it
أَجْرًا
ajran
any reward
إِنْ
in
Not
أَجْرِىَ
ajriya
(is) my reward
إِلَّا
illā
except
عَلَى
ʿalā
from
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
the One Who
فَطَرَنِىٓ
faṭaranī
created me
أَفَلَا
afalā
Then will not
تَعْقِلُونَ
taʿqilūna
you use reason
O my people, I do not ask you for it [i.e., my advice] any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason?

11:52
Ayah 11:52
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا وَيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ
wayāqawmi
And O my people
ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟
is'taghfirū
Ask forgiveness
رَبَّكُمْ
rabbakum
(of) your Lord
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
تُوبُوٓا۟
tūbū
turn in repentance
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhi
to Him
يُرْسِلِ
yur'sili
He will send
ٱلسَّمَآءَ
l-samāa
(from) the sky (rain)
عَلَيْكُم
ʿalaykum
upon you
مِّدْرَارًا
mid'rāran
(in) abundance
وَيَزِدْكُمْ
wayazid'kum
and increase you
قُوَّةً
quwwatan
(in) strength
إِلَىٰ
ilā
(added) to
قُوَّتِكُمْ
quwwatikum
your strength
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تَتَوَلَّوْا۟
tatawallaw
turn away
مُجْرِمِينَ
muj'rimīna
(as) criminals
And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your strength. And do not turn away, [being] criminals."

11:53
Ayah 11:53
قَالُوا۟ يَـٰهُودُ مَا جِئْتَنَا بِبَيِّنَةٍ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِتَارِكِىٓ ءَالِهَتِنَا عَن قَوْلِكَ وَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
يَـٰهُودُ
yāhūdu
O Hud
مَا
You have not brought us
جِئْتَنَا
ji'tanā
You have not brought us
بِبَيِّنَةٍ
bibayyinatin
clear proofs
وَمَا
wamā
and not
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
we
بِتَارِكِىٓ
bitārikī
(will) leave
ءَالِهَتِنَا
ālihatinā
our gods
عَن
ʿan
on
قَوْلِكَ
qawlika
your saying
وَمَا
wamā
and not
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
we (are)
لَكَ
laka
in you
بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
bimu'minīna
believers
They said, "O Hūd, you have not brought us clear evidence, and we are not ones to leave our gods on your say-so. Nor are we believers in you.

11:54
Ayah 11:54
إِن نَّقُولُ إِلَّا ٱعْتَرَىٰكَ بَعْضُ ءَالِهَتِنَا بِسُوٓءٍ ۗ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أُشْهِدُ ٱللَّهَ وَٱشْهَدُوٓا۟ أَنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ
إِن
in
Not
نَّقُولُ
naqūlu
we say
إِلَّا
illā
except (that)
ٱعْتَرَىٰكَ
iʿ'tarāka
have seized you
بَعْضُ
baʿḍu
some
ءَالِهَتِنَا
ālihatinā
(of) our gods
بِسُوٓءٍ
bisūin
with evil
قَالَ
qāla
He said
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed, I
أُشْهِدُ
ush'hidu
[I] call Allah to witness
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
[I] call Allah to witness
وَٱشْهَدُوٓا۟
wa-ish'hadū
and (you) bear witness
أَنِّى
annī
that I am
بَرِىٓءٌ
barīon
innocent
مِّمَّا
mimmā
of what
تُشْرِكُونَ
tush'rikūna
you associate
We only say that some of our gods have possessed you with evil [i.e., insanity]." He said, "Indeed, I call Allāh to witness, and witness [yourselves] that I am free from whatever you associate with Allāh

11:55
Ayah 11:55
مِن دُونِهِۦ ۖ فَكِيدُونِى جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ لَا تُنظِرُونِ
مِن
min
Other than Him
دُونِهِۦ
dūnihi
Other than Him
فَكِيدُونِى
fakīdūnī
So plot against me
جَمِيعًا
jamīʿan
all together
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
لَا
(do) not
تُنظِرُونِ
tunẓirūni
give me respite
Other than Him. So plot against me all together; then do not give me respite.

11:56
Ayah 11:56
إِنِّى تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رَبِّى وَرَبِّكُم ۚ مَّا مِن دَآبَّةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ ءَاخِذٌۢ بِنَاصِيَتِهَآ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed, I
تَوَكَّلْتُ
tawakkaltu
[I] put my trust
عَلَى
ʿalā
upon
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
رَبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
وَرَبِّكُم
warabbikum
and your Lord
مَّا
(There is) not
مِن
min
of a moving creature
دَآبَّةٍ
dābbatin
of a moving creature
إِلَّا
illā
but
هُوَ
huwa
He
ءَاخِذٌۢ
ākhidhun
has grasp
بِنَاصِيَتِهَآ
bināṣiyatihā
of its forelock
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
(is) on
صِرَٰطٍ
ṣirāṭin
a path
مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
mus'taqīmin
straight
Indeed, I have relied upon Allāh, my Lord and your Lord. There is no creature but that He holds it by its forelock [i.e., controls it]. Indeed, my Lord is on a path [that is] straight.

11:57
Ayah 11:57
فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُم مَّآ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَيْكُمْ ۚ وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ رَبِّى قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُۥ شَيْـًٔا ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَفِيظٌ
فَإِن
fa-in
So if
تَوَلَّوْا۟
tawallaw
you turn away
فَقَدْ
faqad
then verily
أَبْلَغْتُكُم
ablaghtukum
I have conveyed to you
مَّآ
what
أُرْسِلْتُ
ur'sil'tu
I was sent
بِهِۦٓ
bihi
with [it]
إِلَيْكُمْ
ilaykum
to you
وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ
wayastakhlifu
And my Lord will give succession
رَبِّى
rabbī
And my Lord will give succession
قَوْمًا
qawman
(to) a people
غَيْرَكُمْ
ghayrakum
other than you
وَلَا
walā
and not
تَضُرُّونَهُۥ
taḍurrūnahu
you will harm Him
شَيْـًٔا
shayan
(in) anything
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
all
شَىْءٍ
shayin
things
حَفِيظٌ
ḥafīẓun
a Guardian
But if you turn away, then I have already conveyed that with which I was sent to you. My Lord will give succession to a people other than you, and you will not harm Him at all. Indeed my Lord is, over all things, Guardian."1

11:58
Ayah 11:58
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا هُودًا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ
وَلَمَّا
walammā
And when
جَآءَ
jāa
came
أَمْرُنَا
amrunā
Our command
نَجَّيْنَا
najjaynā
We saved
هُودًا
hūdan
Hud
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
and those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believed
مَعَهُۥ
maʿahu
with him
بِرَحْمَةٍ
biraḥmatin
by a Mercy
مِّنَّا
minnā
from Us
وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُم
wanajjaynāhum
and We saved them
مِّنْ
min
from
عَذَابٍ
ʿadhābin
a punishment
غَلِيظٍ
ghalīẓin
severe
And when Our command came, We saved Hūd and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us; and We saved them from a harsh punishment.

11:59
Ayah 11:59
وَتِلْكَ عَادٌ ۖ جَحَدُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَصَوْا۟ رُسُلَهُۥ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ
وَتِلْكَ
watil'ka
And this
عَادٌ
ʿādun
(was) Aad
جَحَدُوا۟
jaḥadū
they rejected
بِـَٔايَـٰتِ
biāyāti
(the) Signs
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
(of) their Lord
وَعَصَوْا۟
waʿaṣaw
and disobeyed
رُسُلَهُۥ
rusulahu
His Messengers
وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟
wa-ittabaʿū
and followed
أَمْرَ
amra
(the) command
كُلِّ
kulli
(of) every
جَبَّارٍ
jabbārin
tyrant
عَنِيدٍ
ʿanīdin
obstinate
And that was ʿAad, who rejected the signs of their Lord and disobeyed His messengers and followed the order of every obstinate tyrant.

11:60
Ayah 11:60
وَأُتْبِعُوا۟ فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنْيَا لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ عَادًا كَفَرُوا۟ رَبَّهُمْ ۗ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوْمِ هُودٍ
وَأُتْبِعُوا۟
wa-ut'biʿū
And they were followed
فِى
in
هَـٰذِهِ
hādhihi
this
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā
world
لَعْنَةً
laʿnatan
(with) a curse
وَيَوْمَ
wayawma
and (on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
أَلَآ
alā
No doubt
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
عَادًا
ʿādan
Aad
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieved
رَبَّهُمْ
rabbahum
their Lord
أَلَا
alā
So
بُعْدًا
buʿ'dan
away
لِّعَادٍ
liʿādin
with Aad
قَوْمِ
qawmi
(the) people
هُودٍ
hūdin
(of) Hud
And they were [therefore] followed in this world with a curse and [as well] on the Day of Resurrection. Unquestionably, ʿAad denied their Lord; then away with ʿAad, the people of Hūd.

11:61
Ayah 11:61
۞ وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَـٰلِحًا ۚ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ ۖ هُوَ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَٱسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ فِيهَا فَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى قَرِيبٌ مُّجِيبٌ
وَإِلَىٰ
wa-ilā
And to
ثَمُودَ
thamūda
Thamud
أَخَاهُمْ
akhāhum
(We sent) their brother
صَـٰلِحًا
ṣāliḥan
Salih
قَالَ
qāla
He said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
uʿ'budū
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
مَا
not
لَكُم
lakum
you have
مِّنْ
min
any
إِلَـٰهٍ
ilāhin
god
غَيْرُهُۥ
ghayruhu
other than Him
هُوَ
huwa
He
أَنشَأَكُم
ansha-akum
produced you
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
وَٱسْتَعْمَرَكُمْ
wa-is'taʿmarakum
and settled you
فِيهَا
fīhā
in it
فَٱسْتَغْفِرُوهُ
fa-is'taghfirūhu
So ask forgiveness of Him
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
تُوبُوٓا۟
tūbū
turn in repentance
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhi
to Him
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
قَرِيبٌ
qarībun
(is) near
مُّجِيبٌ
mujībun
All-Responsive
And to Thamūd [We sent] their brother Ṣāliḥ. He said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him. He has produced you from the earth and settled you in it, so ask forgiveness of Him and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive."

11:62
Ayah 11:62
قَالُوا۟ يَـٰصَـٰلِحُ قَدْ كُنتَ فِينَا مَرْجُوًّا قَبْلَ هَـٰذَآ ۖ أَتَنْهَىٰنَآ أَن نَّعْبُدَ مَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَإِنَّنَا لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَآ إِلَيْهِ مُرِيبٍ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
يَـٰصَـٰلِحُ
yāṣāliḥu
O Salih
قَدْ
qad
Verily
كُنتَ
kunta
you were
فِينَا
fīnā
among us
مَرْجُوًّا
marjuwwan
the one in whom hope was placed
قَبْلَ
qabla
before
هَـٰذَآ
hādhā
this
أَتَنْهَىٰنَآ
atanhānā
Do you forbid us
أَن
an
that
نَّعْبُدَ
naʿbuda
we worship
مَا
what
يَعْبُدُ
yaʿbudu
our forefathers worshipped
ءَابَآؤُنَا
ābāunā
our forefathers worshipped
وَإِنَّنَا
wa-innanā
And indeed we
لَفِى
lafī
surely (are) in
شَكٍّ
shakkin
doubt
مِّمَّا
mimmā
about what
تَدْعُونَآ
tadʿūnā
you call us
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhi
to it
مُرِيبٍ
murībin
suspicious
They said, "O Ṣāliḥ, you were among us a man of promise before this. Do you forbid us to worship what our fathers worshipped? And indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt."

11:63
Ayah 11:63
قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَءَاتَىٰنِى مِنْهُ رَحْمَةً فَمَن يَنصُرُنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ إِنْ عَصَيْتُهُۥ ۖ فَمَا تَزِيدُونَنِى غَيْرَ تَخْسِيرٍ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
أَرَءَيْتُمْ
ara-aytum
Do you see
إِن
in
if
كُنتُ
kuntu
I am
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
on
بَيِّنَةٍ
bayyinatin
a clear proof
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
وَءَاتَىٰنِى
waātānī
and He has given me
مِنْهُ
min'hu
from Him
رَحْمَةً
raḥmatan
a Mercy
فَمَن
faman
then who
يَنصُرُنِى
yanṣurunī
(can) help me
مِنَ
mina
against
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
إِنْ
in
if
عَصَيْتُهُۥ
ʿaṣaytuhu
I (were to) disobey Him
فَمَا
famā
So not
تَزِيدُونَنِى
tazīdūnanī
you would increase me
غَيْرَ
ghayra
but
تَخْسِيرٍ
takhsīrin
(in) loss
He said, "O my people, have you considered: if I should be upon clear evidence from my Lord and He has given me mercy from Himself, who would protect me from Allāh if I disobeyed Him? So you would not increase me except in loss.

11:64
Ayah 11:64
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةُ ٱللَّهِ لَكُمْ ءَايَةً فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِىٓ أَرْضِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ قَرِيبٌ
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ
wayāqawmi
And O my people
هَـٰذِهِۦ
hādhihi
This
نَاقَةُ
nāqatu
she-camel
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
لَكُمْ
lakum
(is) for you
ءَايَةً
āyatan
a Sign
فَذَرُوهَا
fadharūhā
so leave her
تَأْكُلْ
takul
to eat
فِىٓ
in
أَرْضِ
arḍi
the earth
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَمَسُّوهَا
tamassūhā
touch her
بِسُوٓءٍ
bisūin
with harm
فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ
fayakhudhakum
lest will seize you
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
a punishment
قَرِيبٌ
qarībun
impending
And O my people, this is the she-camel of Allāh - [she is] to you a sign. So let her feed upon Allāh's earth and do not touch her with harm, or you will be taken by an impending punishment."

11:65
Ayah 11:65
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَقَالَ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ فِى دَارِكُمْ ثَلَـٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ وَعْدٌ غَيْرُ مَكْذُوبٍ
فَعَقَرُوهَا
faʿaqarūhā
But they hamstrung her
فَقَالَ
faqāla
So he said
تَمَتَّعُوا۟
tamattaʿū
Enjoy (yourselves)
فِى
in
دَارِكُمْ
dārikum
your home(s)
ثَلَـٰثَةَ
thalāthata
(for) three
أَيَّامٍ
ayyāmin
days
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
That
وَعْدٌ
waʿdun
(is) a promise
غَيْرُ
ghayru
not
مَكْذُوبٍ
makdhūbin
(to) be belied
But they hamstrung her, so he said, "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. That is a promise not to be denied [i.e., unfailing]."

11:66
Ayah 11:66
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا صَـٰلِحًا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَمِنْ خِزْىِ يَوْمِئِذٍ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلْقَوِىُّ ٱلْعَزِيزُ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
So when
جَآءَ
jāa
came
أَمْرُنَا
amrunā
Our command
نَجَّيْنَا
najjaynā
We saved
صَـٰلِحًا
ṣāliḥan
Salih
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
and those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believed
مَعَهُۥ
maʿahu
with him
بِرَحْمَةٍ
biraḥmatin
by a Mercy
مِّنَّا
minnā
from Us
وَمِنْ
wamin
and from
خِزْىِ
khiz'yi
(the) disgrace
يَوْمِئِذٍ
yawmi-idhin
(of) that Day
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
هُوَ
huwa
He
ٱلْقَوِىُّ
l-qawiyu
(is) All-Strong
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
All-Mighty
So when Our command came, We saved Ṣāliḥ and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us, and [saved them] from the disgrace of that day.1 Indeed, it is your Lord who is the Powerful, the Exalted in Might.

11:67
Ayah 11:67
وَأَخَذَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دِيَـٰرِهِمْ جَـٰثِمِينَ
وَأَخَذَ
wa-akhadha
And seized
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ظَلَمُوا۟
ẓalamū
wronged
ٱلصَّيْحَةُ
l-ṣayḥatu
the thunderous blast
فَأَصْبَحُوا۟
fa-aṣbaḥū
then they became
فِى
in
دِيَـٰرِهِمْ
diyārihim
their homes
جَـٰثِمِينَ
jāthimīna
fallen prone
And the shriek1 seized those who had wronged, and they became within their homes [corpses] fallen prone

11:68
Ayah 11:68
كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَآ ۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ ثَمُودَا۟ كَفَرُوا۟ رَبَّهُمْ ۗ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّثَمُودَ
كَأَن
ka-an
As if
لَّمْ
lam
not
يَغْنَوْا۟
yaghnaw
they (had) prospered
فِيهَآ
fīhā
therein
أَلَآ
alā
No doubt
إِنَّ
inna
indeed
ثَمُودَا۟
thamūdā
Thamud
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieved
رَبَّهُمْ
rabbahum
(in) their Lord
أَلَا
alā
so
بُعْدًا
buʿ'dan
away
لِّثَمُودَ
lithamūda
with Thamud
As if they had never prospered therein. Unquestionably, Thamūd denied their Lord; then, away with Thamūd.

11:69
Ayah 11:69
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ بِٱلْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا ۖ قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ ۖ فَمَا لَبِثَ أَن جَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ حَنِيذٍ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And certainly
جَآءَتْ
jāat
came
رُسُلُنَآ
rusulunā
Our messengers
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
ib'rāhīma
(to) Ibrahim
بِٱلْبُشْرَىٰ
bil-bush'rā
with glad tidings
قَالُوا۟
qālū
they said
سَلَـٰمًا
salāman
Peace
قَالَ
qāla
He said
سَلَـٰمٌ
salāmun
Peace
فَمَا
famā
and not he delayed
لَبِثَ
labitha
and not he delayed
أَن
an
to
جَآءَ
jāa
bring
بِعِجْلٍ
biʿij'lin
a calf
حَنِيذٍ
ḥanīdhin
roasted
And certainly did Our messengers [i.e., angels] come to Abraham with good tidings; they said, "Peace." He said, "Peace," and did not delay in bringing [them] a roasted calf.

11:70
Ayah 11:70
فَلَمَّا رَءَآ أَيْدِيَهُمْ لَا تَصِلُ إِلَيْهِ نَكِرَهُمْ وَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً ۚ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
But when
رَءَآ
raā
he saw
أَيْدِيَهُمْ
aydiyahum
their hands
لَا
not
تَصِلُ
taṣilu
reaching
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhi
to it
نَكِرَهُمْ
nakirahum
he felt unfamiliar of them
وَأَوْجَسَ
wa-awjasa
and felt apprehension
مِنْهُمْ
min'hum
from them
خِيفَةً
khīfatan
[a fear]
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
لَا
(Do) not
تَخَفْ
takhaf
fear
إِنَّآ
innā
Indeed, we
أُرْسِلْنَآ
ur'sil'nā
[we] have been sent
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
قَوْمِ
qawmi
(the) people
لُوطٍ
lūṭin
(of) Lut
But when he saw their hands not reaching for it, he distrusted them and felt from them apprehension.1 They said, "Fear not. We have been sent to the people of Lot."

11:71
Ayah 11:71
وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ قَآئِمَةٌ فَضَحِكَتْ فَبَشَّرْنَـٰهَا بِإِسْحَـٰقَ وَمِن وَرَآءِ إِسْحَـٰقَ يَعْقُوبَ
وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ
wa-im'ra-atuhu
And his wife
قَآئِمَةٌ
qāimatun
(was) standing
فَضَحِكَتْ
faḍaḥikat
and she laughed
فَبَشَّرْنَـٰهَا
fabasharnāhā
Then We gave her glad tidings
بِإِسْحَـٰقَ
bi-is'ḥāqa
of Isaac
وَمِن
wamin
and after
وَرَآءِ
warāi
and after
إِسْحَـٰقَ
is'ḥāqa
Isaac
يَعْقُوبَ
yaʿqūba
(of) Yaqub
And his wife was standing, and she smiled.1 Then We gave her good tidings of Isaac and after Isaac, Jacob.

11:72
Ayah 11:72
قَالَتْ يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ ءَأَلِدُ وَأَنَا۠ عَجُوزٌ وَهَـٰذَا بَعْلِى شَيْخًا ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَشَىْءٌ عَجِيبٌ
قَالَتْ
qālat
She said
يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰٓ
yāwaylatā
Woe to me
ءَأَلِدُ
a-alidu
Shall I bear a child
وَأَنَا۠
wa-anā
while I am
عَجُوزٌ
ʿajūzun
an old woman
وَهَـٰذَا
wahādhā
and this
بَعْلِى
baʿlī
my husband
شَيْخًا
shaykhan
(is) an old man
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
this
لَشَىْءٌ
lashayon
(is) surely a thing
عَجِيبٌ
ʿajībun
amazing
She said, "Woe to me!1 Shall I give birth while I am an old woman and this, my husband, is an old man? Indeed, this is an amazing thing!"

11:73
Ayah 11:73
قَالُوٓا۟ أَتَعْجَبِينَ مِنْ أَمْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ رَحْمَتُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَـٰتُهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ ٱلْبَيْتِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَمِيدٌ مَّجِيدٌ
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
They said
أَتَعْجَبِينَ
ataʿjabīna
Are you amazed
مِنْ
min
at
أَمْرِ
amri
(the) decree of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(the) decree of Allah
رَحْمَتُ
raḥmatu
The Mercy of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
The Mercy of Allah
وَبَرَكَـٰتُهُۥ
wabarakātuhu
and His blessings
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
(be) upon you
أَهْلَ
ahla
people
ٱلْبَيْتِ
l-bayti
(of) the house
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
حَمِيدٌ
ḥamīdun
(is) All-Praiseworthy
مَّجِيدٌ
majīdun
All-Glorious
They said, "Are you amazed at the decree of Allāh? May the mercy of Allāh and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable."

11:74
Ayah 11:74
فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ عَنْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلرَّوْعُ وَجَآءَتْهُ ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ يُجَـٰدِلُنَا فِى قَوْمِ لُوطٍ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
And when
ذَهَبَ
dhahaba
(had) gone away
عَنْ
ʿan
from
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
ib'rāhīma
Ibrahim
ٱلرَّوْعُ
l-rawʿu
the fright
وَجَآءَتْهُ
wajāathu
and had reached him
ٱلْبُشْرَىٰ
l-bush'rā
the glad tidings
يُجَـٰدِلُنَا
yujādilunā
he argued with Us
فِى
concerning
قَوْمِ
qawmi
the people
لُوطٍ
lūṭin
of Lut
And when the fright had left Abraham and the good tidings had reached him, he began to argue [i.e., plead] with Us1 concerning the people of Lot.

11:75
Ayah 11:75
إِنَّ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ لَحَلِيمٌ أَوَّٰهٌ مُّنِيبٌ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
ib'rāhīma
Ibrahim
لَحَلِيمٌ
laḥalīmun
(was) certainly forbearing
أَوَّٰهٌ
awwāhun
imploring
مُّنِيبٌ
munībun
and oft-returning
Indeed, Abraham was forbearing, grieving1 and [frequently] returning [to Allāh].

11:76
Ayah 11:76
يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ أَعْرِضْ عَنْ هَـٰذَآ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ قَدْ جَآءَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَإِنَّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِمْ عَذَابٌ غَيْرُ مَرْدُودٍ
يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
yāib'rāhīmu
O Ibrahim
أَعْرِضْ
aʿriḍ
Turn away
عَنْ
ʿan
from
هَـٰذَآ
hādhā
this
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, it
قَدْ
qad
certainly
جَآءَ
jāa
has come
أَمْرُ
amru
(the) Command
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
وَإِنَّهُمْ
wa-innahum
and indeed, [they]
ءَاتِيهِمْ
ātīhim
(will) come (for) them
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
a punishment
غَيْرُ
ghayru
(which) cannot
مَرْدُودٍ
mardūdin
(be) repelled
[The angels said], "O Abraham, give up this [plea]. Indeed, the command of your Lord has come, and indeed, there will reach them a punishment that cannot be repelled."

11:77
Ayah 11:77
وَلَمَّا جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِىٓءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالَ هَـٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَصِيبٌ
وَلَمَّا
walammā
And when
جَآءَتْ
jāat
came
رُسُلُنَا
rusulunā
Our messengers
لُوطًا
lūṭan
(to) Lut
سِىٓءَ
sīa
he was distressed
بِهِمْ
bihim
for them
وَضَاقَ
waḍāqa
and felt straitened
بِهِمْ
bihim
for them
ذَرْعًا
dharʿan
(and) uneasy
وَقَالَ
waqāla
and said
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
This
يَوْمٌ
yawmun
(is) a day
عَصِيبٌ
ʿaṣībun
distressful
And when Our messengers, [the angels], came to Lot, he was anguished for them and felt for them great discomfort1 and said, "This is a trying day."

11:78
Ayah 11:78
وَجَآءَهُۥ قَوْمُهُۥ يُهْرَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَمِن قَبْلُ كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِى هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ فِى ضَيْفِىٓ ۖ أَلَيْسَ مِنكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَّشِيدٌ
وَجَآءَهُۥ
wajāahu
And came (to) him
قَوْمُهُۥ
qawmuhu
his people
يُهْرَعُونَ
yuh'raʿūna
rushing
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhi
to him
وَمِن
wamin
and before
قَبْلُ
qablu
and before
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they (had) been
يَعْمَلُونَ
yaʿmalūna
doing
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ
l-sayiāti
the evil deeds
قَالَ
qāla
He said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāi
These
بَنَاتِى
banātī
(are) my daughters
هُنَّ
hunna
they
أَطْهَرُ
aṭharu
(are) purer
لَكُمْ
lakum
for you
فَٱتَّقُوا۟
fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تُخْزُونِ
tukh'zūni
disgrace me
فِى
concerning
ضَيْفِىٓ
ḍayfī
my guests
أَلَيْسَ
alaysa
Is (there) not
مِنكُمْ
minkum
among you
رَجُلٌ
rajulun
a man
رَّشِيدٌ
rashīdun
right-minded
And his people came hastening to him, and before [this] they had been doing evil deeds.1 He said, "O my people, these are my daughters;2 they are purer for you. So fear Allāh and do not disgrace me concerning my guests. Is there not among you a man of reason?"

11:79
Ayah 11:79
قَالُوا۟ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَنَا فِى بَنَاتِكَ مِنْ حَقٍّ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَعْلَمُ مَا نُرِيدُ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
لَقَدْ
laqad
Verily
عَلِمْتَ
ʿalim'ta
you know
مَا
(that) not
لَنَا
lanā
we have
فِى
concerning
بَنَاتِكَ
banātika
your daughters
مِنْ
min
any
حَقٍّ
ḥaqqin
right
وَإِنَّكَ
wa-innaka
And indeed, you
لَتَعْلَمُ
lataʿlamu
surely know
مَا
what
نُرِيدُ
nurīdu
we want
They said, "You have already known that we have not concerning your daughters [i.e., women] any claim [i.e., desire], and indeed, you know what we want."

11:80
Ayah 11:80
قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِى بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ ءَاوِىٓ إِلَىٰ رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
لَوْ
law
If
أَنَّ
anna
that
لِى
I had
بِكُمْ
bikum
over you
قُوَّةً
quwwatan
power
أَوْ
aw
or
ءَاوِىٓ
āwī
I could take refuge
إِلَىٰ
ilā
in
رُكْنٍ
ruk'nin
a support
شَدِيدٍ
shadīdin
strong
He said, "If only I had against you some power or could take refuge in a strong support."

11:81
Ayah 11:81
قَالُوا۟ يَـٰلُوطُ إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَن يَصِلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْكَ ۖ فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَكَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ مُصِيبُهَا مَآ أَصَابَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ مَوْعِدَهُمُ ٱلصُّبْحُ ۚ أَلَيْسَ ٱلصُّبْحُ بِقَرِيبٍ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
يَـٰلُوطُ
yālūṭu
O Lut
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
رُسُلُ
rusulu
(are) messengers
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
لَن
lan
never
يَصِلُوٓا۟
yaṣilū
they will reach
إِلَيْكَ
ilayka
you
فَأَسْرِ
fa-asri
So travel
بِأَهْلِكَ
bi-ahlika
with your family
بِقِطْعٍ
biqiṭ'ʿin
in a part
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلَّيْلِ
al-layli
the night
وَلَا
walā
and (let) not
يَلْتَفِتْ
yaltafit
look back
مِنكُمْ
minkum
anyone of you
أَحَدٌ
aḥadun
anyone of you
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱمْرَأَتَكَ
im'ra-ataka
your wife
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, it
مُصِيبُهَا
muṣībuhā
will strike her
مَآ
what
أَصَابَهُمْ
aṣābahum
will strike them
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
مَوْعِدَهُمُ
mawʿidahumu
their appointed time
ٱلصُّبْحُ
l-ṣub'ḥu
(is) morning
أَلَيْسَ
alaysa
Is not
ٱلصُّبْحُ
l-ṣub'ḥu
the morning
بِقَرِيبٍ
biqarībin
near
They [the angels] said, "O Lot, indeed we are messengers of your Lord; [therefore], they will never reach you. So set out with your family during a portion of the night1 and let not any among you look back - except your wife; indeed, she will be struck by that which strikes them. Indeed, their appointment is [for] the morning. Is not the morning near?"

11:82
Ayah 11:82
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا جَعَلْنَا عَـٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا حِجَارَةً مِّن سِجِّيلٍ مَّنضُودٍ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
So when
جَآءَ
jāa
came
أَمْرُنَا
amrunā
Our Command
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnā
We made
عَـٰلِيَهَا
ʿāliyahā
its upside
سَافِلَهَا
sāfilahā
its downside
وَأَمْطَرْنَا
wa-amṭarnā
and We rained
عَلَيْهَا
ʿalayhā
upon them
حِجَارَةً
ḥijāratan
stones
مِّن
min
of
سِجِّيلٍ
sijjīlin
baked clay
مَّنضُودٍ
manḍūdin
(in) layers
So when Our command came, We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of layered hard clay, [which were]

11:83
Ayah 11:83
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَمَا هِىَ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ بِبَعِيدٍ
مُّسَوَّمَةً
musawwamatan
Marked
عِندَ
ʿinda
from
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
your Lord
وَمَا
wamā
And not
هِىَ
hiya
it
مِنَ
mina
(is) from
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīna
the wrongdoers
بِبَعِيدٍ
bibaʿīdin
far
Marked from your Lord. And it [i.e., Allāh's punishment] is not from the wrongdoers [very] far.

11:84
Ayah 11:84
۞ وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا ۚ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَـٰهٍ غَيْرُهُۥ ۖ وَلَا تَنقُصُوا۟ ٱلْمِكْيَالَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ ۚ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكُم بِخَيْرٍ وَإِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ مُّحِيطٍ
وَإِلَىٰ
wa-ilā
And to
مَدْيَنَ
madyana
Madyan
أَخَاهُمْ
akhāhum
their brother
شُعَيْبًا
shuʿayban
Shuaib
قَالَ
qāla
He said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
uʿ'budū
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
مَا
not
لَكُم
lakum
(is) for you
مِّنْ
min
any
إِلَـٰهٍ
ilāhin
god
غَيْرُهُۥ
ghayruhu
other than Him
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تَنقُصُوا۟
tanquṣū
decrease
ٱلْمِكْيَالَ
l-mik'yāla
(from) the measure
وَٱلْمِيزَانَ
wal-mīzāna
and the scale
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed, I
أَرَىٰكُم
arākum
see you
بِخَيْرٍ
bikhayrin
in prosperity
وَإِنِّىٓ
wa-innī
but indeed, I
أَخَافُ
akhāfu
fear
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
for you
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba
punishment
يَوْمٍ
yawmin
(of) a Day
مُّحِيطٍ
muḥīṭin
all-encompassing
And to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shuʿayb. He said, "O my people, worship Allāh; you have no deity other than Him. And do not decrease from the measure and the scale. Indeed, I see you in prosperity, but indeed, I fear for you the punishment of an all-encompassing Day.

11:85
Ayah 11:85
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْمِكْيَالَ وَٱلْمِيزَانَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ ۖ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ
wayāqawmi
And O my people
أَوْفُوا۟
awfū
Give full
ٱلْمِكْيَالَ
l-mik'yāla
measure
وَٱلْمِيزَانَ
wal-mīzāna
and weight
بِٱلْقِسْطِ
bil-qis'ṭi
in justice
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَبْخَسُوا۟
tabkhasū
deprive
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsa
the people
أَشْيَآءَهُمْ
ashyāahum
(of) their things
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَعْثَوْا۟
taʿthaw
act wickedly
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
مُفْسِدِينَ
muf'sidīna
spreading corruption
And O my people, give full measure and weight in justice and do not deprive the people of their due and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.

11:86
Ayah 11:86
بَقِيَّتُ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ۚ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ عَلَيْكُم بِحَفِيظٍ
بَقِيَّتُ
baqiyyatu
(What) remains
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(from) Allah
خَيْرٌ
khayrun
(is) best
لَّكُمْ
lakum
for you
إِن
in
if
كُنتُم
kuntum
you are
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīna
believers
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَنَا۠
anā
I am
عَلَيْكُم
ʿalaykum
over you
بِحَفِيظٍ
biḥafīẓin
a guardian
What remains [lawful] from Allāh is best for you, if you would be believers. But I am not a guardian over you."

11:87
Ayah 11:87
قَالُوا۟ يَـٰشُعَيْبُ أَصَلَوٰتُكَ تَأْمُرُكَ أَن نَّتْرُكَ مَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَآ أَوْ أَن نَّفْعَلَ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِنَا مَا نَشَـٰٓؤُا۟ ۖ إِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ ٱلْحَلِيمُ ٱلرَّشِيدُ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
يَـٰشُعَيْبُ
yāshuʿaybu
O Shuaib
أَصَلَوٰتُكَ
aṣalatuka
Does your prayer
تَأْمُرُكَ
tamuruka
command you
أَن
an
that
نَّتْرُكَ
natruka
we leave
مَا
what
يَعْبُدُ
yaʿbudu
worship
ءَابَآؤُنَآ
ābāunā
our forefathers
أَوْ
aw
or
أَن
an
that
نَّفْعَلَ
nafʿala
we do
فِىٓ
concerning
أَمْوَٰلِنَا
amwālinā
our wealth
مَا
what
نَشَـٰٓؤُا۟
nashāu
we will
إِنَّكَ
innaka
Indeed you
لَأَنتَ
la-anta
surely you
ٱلْحَلِيمُ
l-ḥalīmu
(are) the forbearing
ٱلرَّشِيدُ
l-rashīdu
the right-minded
They said, "O Shuʿayb, does your prayer [i.e., religion] command you that we should leave what our fathers worship or not do with our wealth what we please? Indeed, you are the forbearing, the discerning!"1

11:88
Ayah 11:88
قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّى وَرَزَقَنِى مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا ۚ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنْهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ ۚ إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلْإِصْلَـٰحَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُ ۚ وَمَا تَوْفِيقِىٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ ۚ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
أَرَءَيْتُمْ
ara-aytum
Do you see
إِن
in
if
كُنتُ
kuntu
I am
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
on
بَيِّنَةٍ
bayyinatin
a clear evidence
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
وَرَزَقَنِى
warazaqanī
and He has provided me
مِنْهُ
min'hu
from Himself
رِزْقًا
riz'qan
a good provision
حَسَنًا
ḥasanan
a good provision
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أُرِيدُ
urīdu
I intend
أَنْ
an
that
أُخَالِفَكُمْ
ukhālifakum
I differ from you
إِلَىٰ
ilā
in
مَآ
what
أَنْهَىٰكُمْ
anhākum
I forbid you
عَنْهُ
ʿanhu
from it
إِنْ
in
Not
أُرِيدُ
urīdu
I intend
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلْإِصْلَـٰحَ
l-iṣ'lāḥa
the reform
مَا
as much as I am able
ٱسْتَطَعْتُ
is'taṭaʿtu
as much as I am able
وَمَا
wamā
And not
تَوْفِيقِىٓ
tawfīqī
(is) my success
إِلَّا
illā
except
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
with Allah
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
Upon Him
تَوَكَّلْتُ
tawakkaltu
I trust
وَإِلَيْهِ
wa-ilayhi
and to Him
أُنِيبُ
unību
I turn
He said, "O my people, have you considered: if I am upon clear evidence from my Lord and He has provided me with a good provision from Him...?1 And I do not intend to differ from you in that which I have forbidden you; I only intend reform as much as I am able. And my success is not but through Allāh. Upon Him I have relied, and to Him I return.2

11:89
Ayah 11:89
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ لَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شِقَاقِىٓ أَن يُصِيبَكُم مِّثْلُ مَآ أَصَابَ قَوْمَ نُوحٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ هُودٍ أَوْ قَوْمَ صَـٰلِحٍ ۚ وَمَا قَوْمُ لُوطٍ مِّنكُم بِبَعِيدٍ
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ
wayāqawmi
And O my people
لَا
(Let) not cause you to sin
يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ
yajrimannakum
(Let) not cause you to sin
شِقَاقِىٓ
shiqāqī
my dissension
أَن
an
lest
يُصِيبَكُم
yuṣībakum
befalls you
مِّثْلُ
mith'lu
similar
مَآ
(to) what
أَصَابَ
aṣāba
befell
قَوْمَ
qawma
(the) people of Nuh
نُوحٍ
nūḥin
(the) people of Nuh
أَوْ
aw
or
قَوْمَ
qawma
(the) people of Hud
هُودٍ
hūdin
(the) people of Hud
أَوْ
aw
or
قَوْمَ
qawma
people of Salih
صَـٰلِحٍ
ṣāliḥin
people of Salih
وَمَا
wamā
And not
قَوْمُ
qawmu
(are the) people of Lut
لُوطٍ
lūṭin
(are the) people of Lut
مِّنكُم
minkum
from you
بِبَعِيدٍ
bibaʿīdin
far off
And O my people, let not [your] dissension from me cause you to be struck by that similar to what struck the people of Noah or the people of Hūd or the people of Ṣāliḥ. And the people of Lot are not from you far away.

11:90
Ayah 11:90
وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّى رَحِيمٌ وَدُودٌ
وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟
wa-is'taghfirū
And ask forgiveness
رَبَّكُمْ
rabbakum
(of) your Lord
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
تُوبُوٓا۟
tūbū
turn in repentance
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhi
to Him
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
رَحِيمٌ
raḥīmun
(is) Most Merciful
وَدُودٌ
wadūdun
Most Loving
And ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is Merciful and Affectionate."

11:91
Ayah 11:91
قَالُوا۟ يَـٰشُعَيْبُ مَا نَفْقَهُ كَثِيرًا مِّمَّا تَقُولُ وَإِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِينَا ضَعِيفًا ۖ وَلَوْلَا رَهْطُكَ لَرَجَمْنَـٰكَ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيْنَا بِعَزِيزٍ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
يَـٰشُعَيْبُ
yāshuʿaybu
O Shuaib
مَا
Not
نَفْقَهُ
nafqahu
we understand
كَثِيرًا
kathīran
much
مِّمَّا
mimmā
of what
تَقُولُ
taqūlu
you say
وَإِنَّا
wa-innā
and indeed, we
لَنَرَىٰكَ
lanarāka
surely [we] see you
فِينَا
fīnā
among us
ضَعِيفًا
ḍaʿīfan
weak
وَلَوْلَا
walawlā
And if not
رَهْطُكَ
rahṭuka
for your family
لَرَجَمْنَـٰكَ
larajamnāka
surely we would have stoned you
وَمَآ
wamā
and you are not
أَنتَ
anta
and you are not
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynā
against us
بِعَزِيزٍ
biʿazīzin
mighty
They said, "O Shuʿayb, we do not understand much of what you say, and indeed, we consider you among us as weak. And if not for your family, we would have stoned you [to death]; and you are not to us one respected."

11:92
Ayah 11:92
قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ أَرَهْطِىٓ أَعَزُّ عَلَيْكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُ وَرَآءَكُمْ ظِهْرِيًّا ۖ إِنَّ رَبِّى بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
أَرَهْطِىٓ
arahṭī
Is my family
أَعَزُّ
aʿazzu
mightier
عَلَيْكُم
ʿalaykum
on you
مِّنَ
mina
than
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
وَٱتَّخَذْتُمُوهُ
wa-ittakhadhtumūhu
And you have taken Him
وَرَآءَكُمْ
warāakum
behind your
ظِهْرِيًّا
ẓih'riyyan
backs
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
بِمَا
bimā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūna
you do
مُحِيطٌ
muḥīṭun
(is) All-Encompassing
He said, "O my people, is my family more respected for power by you than Allāh? But you put Him behind your backs [in neglect]. Indeed, my Lord is encompassing of what you do.

11:93
Ayah 11:93
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنِّى عَـٰمِلٌ ۖ سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ مَن يَأْتِيهِ عَذَابٌ يُخْزِيهِ وَمَنْ هُوَ كَـٰذِبٌ ۖ وَٱرْتَقِبُوٓا۟ إِنِّى مَعَكُمْ رَقِيبٌ
وَيَـٰقَوْمِ
wayāqawmi
And O my people
ٱعْمَلُوا۟
iʿ'malū
Work
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
(according) to
مَكَانَتِكُمْ
makānatikum
your position
إِنِّى
innī
indeed, I am
عَـٰمِلٌ
ʿāmilun
working
سَوْفَ
sawfa
Soon
تَعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūna
you will know
مَن
man
(on) whom
يَأْتِيهِ
yatīhi
will come
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
a punishment
يُخْزِيهِ
yukh'zīhi
(that will) disgrace him
وَمَنْ
waman
and who
هُوَ
huwa
[he]
كَـٰذِبٌ
kādhibun
(is) a liar
وَٱرْتَقِبُوٓا۟
wa-ir'taqibū
And watch
إِنِّى
innī
indeed, I am
مَعَكُمْ
maʿakum
with you
رَقِيبٌ
raqībun
a watcher
And O my people, work according to your position; indeed, I am working. You are going to know to whom will come a punishment that will disgrace him and who is a liar. So watch; indeed, I am with you a watcher, [awaiting the outcome]."

11:94
Ayah 11:94
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا نَجَّيْنَا شُعَيْبًا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِّنَّا وَأَخَذَتِ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دِيَـٰرِهِمْ جَـٰثِمِينَ
وَلَمَّا
walammā
And when
جَآءَ
jāa
came
أَمْرُنَا
amrunā
Our Command
نَجَّيْنَا
najjaynā
We saved
شُعَيْبًا
shuʿayban
Shuaib
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
and those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believed
مَعَهُۥ
maʿahu
with him
بِرَحْمَةٍ
biraḥmatin
by a Mercy
مِّنَّا
minnā
from Us
وَأَخَذَتِ
wa-akhadhati
And seized
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ظَلَمُوا۟
ẓalamū
wronged
ٱلصَّيْحَةُ
l-ṣayḥatu
the thunderous blast
فَأَصْبَحُوا۟
fa-aṣbaḥū
then they became
فِى
in
دِيَـٰرِهِمْ
diyārihim
their homes
جَـٰثِمِينَ
jāthimīna
fallen prone
And when Our command came, We saved Shuʿayb and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us. And the shriek seized those who had wronged, and they became within their homes [corpses] fallen prone

11:95
Ayah 11:95
كَأَن لَّمْ يَغْنَوْا۟ فِيهَآ ۗ أَلَا بُعْدًا لِّمَدْيَنَ كَمَا بَعِدَتْ ثَمُودُ
كَأَن
ka-an
As if
لَّمْ
lam
not
يَغْنَوْا۟
yaghnaw
they (had) prospered
فِيهَآ
fīhā
therein
أَلَا
alā
So
بُعْدًا
buʿ'dan
away
لِّمَدْيَنَ
limadyana
with Madyan
كَمَا
kamā
as
بَعِدَتْ
baʿidat
was taken away
ثَمُودُ
thamūdu
the Thamud
As if they had never prospered therein. Then, away with Madyan as Thamūd was taken away.

11:96
Ayah 11:96
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا وَسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And certainly
أَرْسَلْنَا
arsalnā
We sent
مُوسَىٰ
mūsā
Musa
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
biāyātinā
with Our Signs
وَسُلْطَـٰنٍ
wasul'ṭānin
and an authority
مُّبِينٍ
mubīnin
clear
And We did certainly send Moses with Our signs and a clear authority1

11:97
Ayah 11:97
إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ فَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۖ وَمَآ أَمْرُ فِرْعَوْنَ بِرَشِيدٍ
إِلَىٰ
ilā
To
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna
Firaun
وَمَلَإِي۟هِۦ
wamala-ihi
and his chiefs
فَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟
fa-ittabaʿū
but they followed
أَمْرَ
amra
(the) command of Firaun
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna
(the) command of Firaun
وَمَآ
wamā
and not
أَمْرُ
amru
(the) command of Firaun
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna
(the) command of Firaun
بِرَشِيدٍ
birashīdin
was right
To Pharaoh and his establishment, but they followed the command of Pharaoh, and the command of Pharaoh was not [at all] discerning.

11:98
Ayah 11:98
يَقْدُمُ قَوْمَهُۥ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فَأَوْرَدَهُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ۖ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْوِرْدُ ٱلْمَوْرُودُ
يَقْدُمُ
yaqdumu
He will precede
قَوْمَهُۥ
qawmahu
his people
يَوْمَ
yawma
(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
فَأَوْرَدَهُمُ
fa-awradahumu
and lead them
ٱلنَّارَ
l-nāra
(into) the Fire
وَبِئْسَ
wabi'sa
And wretched
ٱلْوِرْدُ
l-wir'du
(is) the place
ٱلْمَوْرُودُ
l-mawrūdu
to which (they are) led
He will precede his people on the Day of Resurrection and lead them into the Fire; and wretched is the place to which they are led.

11:99
Ayah 11:99
وَأُتْبِعُوا۟ فِى هَـٰذِهِۦ لَعْنَةً وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۚ بِئْسَ ٱلرِّفْدُ ٱلْمَرْفُودُ
وَأُتْبِعُوا۟
wa-ut'biʿū
And they were followed
فِى
in
هَـٰذِهِۦ
hādhihi
this
لَعْنَةً
laʿnatan
(by) a curse
وَيَوْمَ
wayawma
and (on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
بِئْسَ
bi'sa
Wretched
ٱلرِّفْدُ
l-rif'du
(is) the gift
ٱلْمَرْفُودُ
l-marfūdu
which (will) be given
And they were followed in this [world] with a curse and on the Day of Resurrection. And wretched is the gift1 which is given.

11:100
Ayah 11:100
ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّهُۥ عَلَيْكَ ۖ مِنْهَا قَآئِمٌ وَحَصِيدٌ
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
That
مِنْ
min
(is) from
أَنۢبَآءِ
anbāi
(the) news
ٱلْقُرَىٰ
l-qurā
(of) the cities
نَقُصُّهُۥ
naquṣṣuhu
(which) We relate
عَلَيْكَ
ʿalayka
to you
مِنْهَا
min'hā
of them
قَآئِمٌ
qāimun
some are standing
وَحَصِيدٌ
waḥaṣīdun
and (some) mown
That is from the news of the cities, which We relate to you; of them, some are [still] standing and some are [as] a harvest [mowed down].1

11:101
Ayah 11:101
وَمَا ظَلَمْنَـٰهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ ۖ فَمَآ أَغْنَتْ عَنْهُمْ ءَالِهَتُهُمُ ٱلَّتِى يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَىْءٍ لَّمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُ رَبِّكَ ۖ وَمَا زَادُوهُمْ غَيْرَ تَتْبِيبٍ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
ظَلَمْنَـٰهُمْ
ẓalamnāhum
We wronged them
وَلَـٰكِن
walākin
but
ظَلَمُوٓا۟
ẓalamū
they wronged
أَنفُسَهُمْ
anfusahum
themselves
فَمَآ
famā
So not
أَغْنَتْ
aghnat
availed
عَنْهُمْ
ʿanhum
them
ءَالِهَتُهُمُ
ālihatuhumu
their gods
ٱلَّتِى
allatī
which
يَدْعُونَ
yadʿūna
they invoked
مِن
min
other than Allah
دُونِ
dūni
other than Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
other than Allah
مِن
min
any
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
لَّمَّا
lammā
when
جَآءَ
jāa
came
أَمْرُ
amru
(the) command (of) your Lord
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(the) command (of) your Lord
وَمَا
wamā
And not
زَادُوهُمْ
zādūhum
they increased them
غَيْرَ
ghayra
other than
تَتْبِيبٍ
tatbībin
ruin
And We did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. And they were not availed at all by their gods which they invoked other than Allāh when there came the command of your Lord. And they did not increase them in other than ruin.

11:102
Ayah 11:102
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَآ أَخَذَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ وَهِىَ ظَـٰلِمَةٌ ۚ إِنَّ أَخْذَهُۥٓ أَلِيمٌ شَدِيدٌ
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wakadhālika
And thus
أَخْذُ
akhdhu
(is) the seizure (of) your Lord
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(is) the seizure (of) your Lord
إِذَآ
idhā
when
أَخَذَ
akhadha
He seizes
ٱلْقُرَىٰ
l-qurā
the cities
وَهِىَ
wahiya
while they
ظَـٰلِمَةٌ
ẓālimatun
(are) doing wrong
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
أَخْذَهُۥٓ
akhdhahu
His seizure
أَلِيمٌ
alīmun
(is) painful
شَدِيدٌ
shadīdun
(and) severe
And thus is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the cities while they are committing wrong. Indeed, His seizure is painful and severe.

11:103
Ayah 11:103
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّمَنْ خَافَ عَذَابَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّجْمُوعٌ لَّهُ ٱلنَّاسُ وَذَٰلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَّشْهُودٌ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةً
laāyatan
(is) surely a Sign
لِّمَنْ
liman
for (those) who
خَافَ
khāfa
fear
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba
(the) punishment
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhirati
(of) the Hereafter
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
That
يَوْمٌ
yawmun
(is) a Day
مَّجْمُوعٌ
majmūʿun
(will) be gathered
لَّهُ
lahu
on it
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsu
the mankind
وَذَٰلِكَ
wadhālika
and that
يَوْمٌ
yawmun
(is) a Day
مَّشْهُودٌ
mashhūdun
witnessed
Indeed in that is a sign for those who fear the punishment of the Hereafter. That is a Day for which the people will be collected, and that is a Day [which will be] witnessed.

11:104
Ayah 11:104
وَمَا نُؤَخِّرُهُۥٓ إِلَّا لِأَجَلٍ مَّعْدُودٍ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
نُؤَخِّرُهُۥٓ
nu-akhiruhu
We delay it
إِلَّا
illā
except
لِأَجَلٍ
li-ajalin
for a term
مَّعْدُودٍ
maʿdūdin
limited
And We do not delay it except for a limited term.

11:105
Ayah 11:105
يَوْمَ يَأْتِ لَا تَكَلَّمُ نَفْسٌ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۚ فَمِنْهُمْ شَقِىٌّ وَسَعِيدٌ
يَوْمَ
yawma
(The) Day
يَأْتِ
yati
(it) comes
لَا
not
تَكَلَّمُ
takallamu
will speak
نَفْسٌ
nafsun
a soul
إِلَّا
illā
except
بِإِذْنِهِۦ
bi-idh'nihi
by His leave
فَمِنْهُمْ
famin'hum
Then among them
شَقِىٌّ
shaqiyyun
(will be the) wretched
وَسَعِيدٌ
wasaʿīdun
and (the) glad
The Day it comes no soul will speak except by His permission. And among them will be the wretched and the prosperous.

11:106
Ayah 11:106
فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ شَقُوا۟ فَفِى ٱلنَّارِ لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَشَهِيقٌ
فَأَمَّا
fa-ammā
As for
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
شَقُوا۟
shaqū
were wretched
فَفِى
fafī
then (they will be) in
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nāri
the Fire
لَهُمْ
lahum
For them
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
زَفِيرٌ
zafīrun
(is) sighing
وَشَهِيقٌ
washahīqun
and wailing
As for those who were [destined to be] wretched, they will be in the Fire. For them therein is [violent] exhaling and inhaling.1

11:107
Ayah 11:107
خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّكَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
خَـٰلِدِينَ
khālidīna
(Will be) abiding
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
مَا
as long as remain
دَامَتِ
dāmati
as long as remain
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ
l-samāwātu
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضُ
wal-arḍu
and the earth
إِلَّا
illā
except
مَا
what your Lord wills
شَآءَ
shāa
what your Lord wills
رَبُّكَ
rabbuka
what your Lord wills
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
فَعَّالٌ
faʿʿālun
(is) All-Accomplisher
لِّمَا
limā
of what
يُرِيدُ
yurīdu
He intends
[They will be] abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will. Indeed, your Lord is an effecter of what He intends.

11:108
Ayah 11:108
۞ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ سُعِدُوا۟ فَفِى ٱلْجَنَّةِ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّكَ ۖ عَطَآءً غَيْرَ مَجْذُوذٍ
وَأَمَّا
wa-ammā
And as for
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
سُعِدُوا۟
suʿidū
were glad
فَفِى
fafī
then (they will be) in
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
l-janati
Paradise
خَـٰلِدِينَ
khālidīna
(will be) abiding
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
مَا
as long as remains
دَامَتِ
dāmati
as long as remains
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ
l-samāwātu
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضُ
wal-arḍu
and the earth
إِلَّا
illā
except
مَا
what your Lord wills
شَآءَ
shāa
what your Lord wills
رَبُّكَ
rabbuka
what your Lord wills
عَطَآءً
ʿaṭāan
a bestowal
غَيْرَ
ghayra
not
مَجْذُوذٍ
majdhūdhin
interrupted
And as for those who were [destined to be] prosperous, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will - a bestowal uninterrupted.

11:109
Ayah 11:109
فَلَا تَكُ فِى مِرْيَةٍ مِّمَّا يَعْبُدُ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ۚ مَا يَعْبُدُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا يَعْبُدُ ءَابَآؤُهُم مِّن قَبْلُ ۚ وَإِنَّا لَمُوَفُّوهُمْ نَصِيبَهُمْ غَيْرَ مَنقُوصٍ
فَلَا
falā
So (do) not
تَكُ
taku
be
فِى
in
مِرْيَةٍ
mir'yatin
doubt
مِّمَّا
mimmā
as to what
يَعْبُدُ
yaʿbudu
worship
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāi
these (polytheists)
مَا
Not
يَعْبُدُونَ
yaʿbudūna
they worship
إِلَّا
illā
except
كَمَا
kamā
as what
يَعْبُدُ
yaʿbudu
worshipped
ءَابَآؤُهُم
ābāuhum
their forefathers
مِّن
min
before
قَبْلُ
qablu
before
وَإِنَّا
wa-innā
And indeed, We
لَمُوَفُّوهُمْ
lamuwaffūhum
will surely pay them in full
نَصِيبَهُمْ
naṣībahum

غَيْرَ
ghayra
without
مَنقُوصٍ
manqūṣin
being diminished
So do not be in doubt, [O Muḥammad], as to what these [polytheists] are worshipping. They worship not except as their fathers worshipped before. And indeed, We will give them their share undiminished.

11:110
Ayah 11:110
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ فَٱخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ ۚ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And verily
ءَاتَيْنَا
ātaynā
We gave
مُوسَى
mūsā
Musa
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
l-kitāba
the Book
فَٱخْتُلِفَ
fa-ukh'tulifa
but differences arose
فِيهِ
fīhi
therein
وَلَوْلَا
walawlā
And if not
كَلِمَةٌ
kalimatun
(for) a Word
سَبَقَتْ
sabaqat
(that) preceded
مِن
min
from
رَّبِّكَ
rabbika
your Lord
لَقُضِىَ
laquḍiya
surely would have been judged
بَيْنَهُمْ
baynahum
between them
وَإِنَّهُمْ
wa-innahum
And indeed, they
لَفِى
lafī
surely (are) in
شَكٍّ
shakkin
doubt
مِّنْهُ
min'hu
concerning it
مُرِيبٍ
murībin
suspicious
And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word1 that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them. And indeed they are, concerning it [i.e., the Qur’ān], in disquieting doubt.

11:111
Ayah 11:111
وَإِنَّ كُلًّا لَّمَّا لَيُوَفِّيَنَّهُمْ رَبُّكَ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
كُلًّا
kullan
to each [when]
لَّمَّا
lammā
to each [when]
لَيُوَفِّيَنَّهُمْ
layuwaffiyannahum
surely will pay them in full
رَبُّكَ
rabbuka
your Lord
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ
aʿmālahum
their deeds
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
بِمَا
bimā
of what
يَعْمَلُونَ
yaʿmalūna
they do
خَبِيرٌ
khabīrun
(is) All-Aware
And indeed, each [of the believers and disbelievers] - your Lord will fully compensate them for their deeds. Indeed, He is Aware of what they do.

11:112
Ayah 11:112
فَٱسْتَقِمْ كَمَآ أُمِرْتَ وَمَن تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلَا تَطْغَوْا۟ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
فَٱسْتَقِمْ
fa-is'taqim
So stand firm
كَمَآ
kamā
as
أُمِرْتَ
umir'ta
you are commanded
وَمَن
waman
and (those) who
تَابَ
tāba
turn (in repentance)
مَعَكَ
maʿaka
with you
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَطْغَوْا۟
taṭghaw
transgress
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
بِمَا
bimā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūna
you do
بَصِيرٌ
baṣīrun
(is) All-Seer
So remain on a right course as you have been commanded, [you] and those who have turned back with you [to Allāh], and do not transgress. Indeed, He is Seeing of what you do.

11:113
Ayah 11:113
وَلَا تَرْكَنُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ فَتَمَسَّكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تَرْكَنُوٓا۟
tarkanū
incline
إِلَى
ilā
to
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ظَلَمُوا۟
ẓalamū
do wrong
فَتَمَسَّكُمُ
fatamassakumu
lest touches you
ٱلنَّارُ
l-nāru
the Fire
وَمَا
wamā
and not
لَكُم
lakum
(is) for you
مِّن
min
besides Allah
دُونِ
dūni
besides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
besides Allah
مِنْ
min
any
أَوْلِيَآءَ
awliyāa
protectors
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
لَا
not
تُنصَرُونَ
tunṣarūna
you will be helped
And do not incline toward those who do wrong, lest you be touched by the Fire, and you would not have other than Allāh any protectors; then you would not be helped.

11:114
Ayah 11:114
وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ طَرَفَىِ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱلْحَسَنَـٰتِ يُذْهِبْنَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ذِكْرَىٰ لِلذَّٰكِرِينَ
وَأَقِمِ
wa-aqimi
And establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
l-ṣalata
the prayer
طَرَفَىِ
ṭarafayi
(at the) two ends
ٱلنَّهَارِ
l-nahāri
(of) the day
وَزُلَفًا
wazulafan
and (at) the approach
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلَّيْلِ
al-layli
the night
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلْحَسَنَـٰتِ
l-ḥasanāti
the good deeds
يُذْهِبْنَ
yudh'hib'na
remove
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ
l-sayiāti
the evil deeds
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
That
ذِكْرَىٰ
dhik'rā
(is) a reminder
لِلذَّٰكِرِينَ
lildhākirīna
for those who remember
And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.

11:115
Ayah 11:115
وَٱصْبِرْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
وَٱصْبِرْ
wa-iṣ'bir
And be patient
فَإِنَّ
fa-inna
for indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
لَا
(does) not
يُضِيعُ
yuḍīʿu
let go waste
أَجْرَ
ajra
(the) reward
ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
l-muḥ'sinīna
(of) the good-doers
And be patient, for indeed, Allāh does not allow to be lost the reward of those who do good.

11:116
Ayah 11:116
فَلَوْلَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ أُو۟لُوا۟ بَقِيَّةٍ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْفَسَادِ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّمَّنْ أَنجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْ ۗ وَٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مَآ أُتْرِفُوا۟ فِيهِ وَكَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
فَلَوْلَا
falawlā
So why not
كَانَ
kāna
had been
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْقُرُونِ
l-qurūni
the generations
مِن
min
before you
قَبْلِكُمْ
qablikum
before you
أُو۟لُوا۟
ulū
those possessing a remnant
بَقِيَّةٍ
baqiyyatin
those possessing a remnant
يَنْهَوْنَ
yanhawna
forbidding
عَنِ
ʿani
from
ٱلْفَسَادِ
l-fasādi
the corruption
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
إِلَّا
illā
except
قَلِيلًا
qalīlan
a few
مِّمَّنْ
mimman
of those
أَنجَيْنَا
anjaynā
We saved
مِنْهُمْ
min'hum
among them
وَٱتَّبَعَ
wa-ittabaʿa
But followed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ظَلَمُوا۟
ẓalamū
did wrong
مَآ
what
أُتْرِفُوا۟
ut'rifū
luxury they were given
فِيهِ
fīhi
therein
وَكَانُوا۟
wakānū
and they were
مُجْرِمِينَ
muj'rimīna
criminals
So why were there not1 among the generations before you those of enduring discrimination forbidding corruption on earth - except a few of those We saved from among them? But those who wronged pursued what luxury they were given therein, and they were criminals.

11:117
Ayah 11:117
وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
كَانَ
kāna
would
رَبُّكَ
rabbuka
your Lord
لِيُهْلِكَ
liyuh'lika
destroy
ٱلْقُرَىٰ
l-qurā
the cities
بِظُلْمٍ
biẓul'min
unjustly
وَأَهْلُهَا
wa-ahluhā
while its people
مُصْلِحُونَ
muṣ'liḥūna
(were) reformers
And your Lord would not have destroyed the cities unjustly while their people were reformers.

11:118
Ayah 11:118
وَلَوْ شَآءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ ٱلنَّاسَ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً ۖ وَلَا يَزَالُونَ مُخْتَلِفِينَ
وَلَوْ
walaw
And if
شَآءَ
shāa
your Lord (had) willed
رَبُّكَ
rabbuka
your Lord (had) willed
لَجَعَلَ
lajaʿala
surely He (could) have made
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsa
the mankind
أُمَّةً
ummatan
one community
وَٰحِدَةً
wāḥidatan
one community
وَلَا
walā
but not
يَزَالُونَ
yazālūna
they will cease
مُخْتَلِفِينَ
mukh'talifīna
to differ
And if your Lord had willed, He could have made mankind one community; but they will not cease to differ,

11:119
Ayah 11:119
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ رَبُّكَ ۚ وَلِذَٰلِكَ خَلَقَهُمْ ۗ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
إِلَّا
illā
Except
مَن
man
(on) whom
رَّحِمَ
raḥima
your Lord has bestowed Mercy
رَبُّكَ
rabbuka
your Lord has bestowed Mercy
وَلِذَٰلِكَ
walidhālika
and for that
خَلَقَهُمْ
khalaqahum
He created them
وَتَمَّتْ
watammat
And will be fulfilled
كَلِمَةُ
kalimatu
(the) Word of your Lord
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(the) Word of your Lord
لَأَمْلَأَنَّ
la-amla-anna
Surely I will fill
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama
Hell
مِنَ
mina
with
ٱلْجِنَّةِ
l-jinati
the Jinn
وَٱلنَّاسِ
wal-nāsi
and the men
أَجْمَعِينَ
ajmaʿīna
all together
Except whom your Lord has given mercy, and for that He created them. But the word of your Lord is to be fulfilled that, "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and men all together."

11:120
Ayah 11:120
وَكُلًّا نَّقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلرُّسُلِ مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِهِۦ فُؤَادَكَ ۚ وَجَآءَكَ فِى هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَقُّ وَمَوْعِظَةٌ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
وَكُلًّا
wakullan
And each
نَّقُصُّ
naquṣṣu
We relate
عَلَيْكَ
ʿalayka
to you
مِنْ
min
of
أَنۢبَآءِ
anbāi
(the) news
ٱلرُّسُلِ
l-rusuli
(of) the Messengers
مَا
(for) that
نُثَبِّتُ
nuthabbitu
We may make firm
بِهِۦ
bihi
with it
فُؤَادَكَ
fuādaka
your heart
وَجَآءَكَ
wajāaka
And has come to you
فِى
in
هَـٰذِهِ
hādhihi
this
ٱلْحَقُّ
l-ḥaqu
the truth
وَمَوْعِظَةٌ
wamawʿiẓatun
and an admonition
وَذِكْرَىٰ
wadhik'rā
and a reminder
لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
lil'mu'minīna
for the believers
And each [story] We relate to you from the news of the messengers is that by which We make firm your heart. And there has come to you, in this, the truth and an instruction and a reminder for the believers.

11:121
Ayah 11:121
وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ٱعْمَلُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمْ إِنَّا عَـٰمِلُونَ
وَقُل
waqul
And say
لِّلَّذِينَ
lilladhīna
to those who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūna
believe
ٱعْمَلُوا۟
iʿ'malū
Work
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
(according) to
مَكَانَتِكُمْ
makānatikum
your position
إِنَّا
innā
indeed, we
عَـٰمِلُونَ
ʿāmilūna
(are also) working
And say to those who do not believe, "Work according to your position; indeed, we are working.

11:122
Ayah 11:122
وَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ
وَٱنتَظِرُوٓا۟
wa-intaẓirū
And wait
إِنَّا
innā
indeed, we
مُنتَظِرُونَ
muntaẓirūna
(are) ones who wait
And wait; indeed, we are waiting."

11:123
Ayah 11:123
وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ ٱلْأَمْرُ كُلُّهُۥ فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِ ۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَـٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
وَلِلَّهِ
walillahi
And for Allah
غَيْبُ
ghaybu
(is the) unseen
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
وَإِلَيْهِ
wa-ilayhi
and to Him
يُرْجَعُ
yur'jaʿu
will be returned
ٱلْأَمْرُ
l-amru
the matter
كُلُّهُۥ
kulluhu
all (of) it
فَٱعْبُدْهُ
fa-uʿ'bud'hu
so worship Him
وَتَوَكَّلْ
watawakkal
and put your trust
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
upon Him
وَمَا
wamā
And your Lord is not
رَبُّكَ
rabbuka
And your Lord is not
بِغَـٰفِلٍ
bighāfilin
unaware
عَمَّا
ʿammā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūna
you do
And to Allāh belong the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth and to Him will be returned the matter, all of it, so worship Him and rely upon Him. And your Lord is not unaware of that which you do.
