26:2
Ayah 26:2
تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
تِلْكَ
til'ka
These
ءَايَـٰتُ
āyātu
(are the) Verses
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābi
(of) the Book
ٱلْمُبِينِ
l-mubīni
clear
These are the verses of the clear Book.

26:3
Ayah 26:3
لَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
لَعَلَّكَ
laʿallaka
Perhaps you
بَـٰخِعٌ
bākhiʿun
(would) kill
نَّفْسَكَ
nafsaka
yourself
أَلَّا
allā
that not
يَكُونُوا۟
yakūnū
they become
مُؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīna
believers
Perhaps, [O Muḥammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.

26:4
Ayah 26:4
إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَـٰضِعِينَ
إِن
in
If
نَّشَأْ
nasha
We will
نُنَزِّلْ
nunazzil
We can send down
عَلَيْهِم
ʿalayhim
to them
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the sky
ءَايَةً
āyatan
a Sign
فَظَلَّتْ
faẓallat
so would bend
أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ
aʿnāquhum
their necks
لَهَا
lahā
to it
خَـٰضِعِينَ
khāḍiʿīna
(in) humility
If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled.1

26:5
Ayah 26:5
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
وَمَا
wamā
And (does) not
يَأْتِيهِم
yatīhim
come to them
مِّن
min
any
ذِكْرٍ
dhik'rin
reminder
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ
l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
مُحْدَثٍ
muḥ'dathin
new
إِلَّا
illā
but
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they
عَنْهُ
ʿanhu
from it
مُعْرِضِينَ
muʿ'riḍīna
turn away
And no mention [i.e., revelation] comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.

26:6
Ayah 26:6
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
فَقَدْ
faqad
So verily
كَذَّبُوا۟
kadhabū
they have denied
فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ
fasayatīhim
then will come to them
أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟
anbāu
the news
مَا
(of) what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used
بِهِۦ
bihi
at it
يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
yastahziūna
(to) mock
For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule.

26:7
Ayah 26:7
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ
أَوَلَمْ
awalam
Do not
يَرَوْا۟
yaraw
they see
إِلَى
ilā
at
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
كَمْ
kam
how many
أَنۢبَتْنَا
anbatnā
We produced
فِيهَا
fīhā
in it
مِن
min
of
كُلِّ
kulli
every
زَوْجٍ
zawjin
kind
كَرِيمٍ
karīmin
noble
Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind?

26:8
Ayah 26:8
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةً
laāyatan
surely (is) a sign
وَمَا
wamā
but not
كَانَ
kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم
aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīna
believers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.

26:9
Ayah 26:9
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ
lahuwa
surely, He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

26:10
Ayah 26:10
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
وَإِذْ
wa-idh
And when
نَادَىٰ
nādā
your Lord called
رَبُّكَ
rabbuka
your Lord called
مُوسَىٰٓ
mūsā
Musa
أَنِ
ani
[that]
ٱئْتِ
i'ti
Go
ٱلْقَوْمَ
l-qawma
(to) the people
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīna
(who are) wrongdoers
And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people -

26:11
Ayah 26:11
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
قَوْمَ
qawma
(The) people
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna
(of) Firaun
أَلَا
alā
Will not
يَتَّقُونَ
yattaqūna
they fear
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allāh?"

26:12
Ayah 26:12
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
رَبِّ
rabbi
My Lord
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed, I
أَخَافُ
akhāfu
[I] fear
أَن
an
that
يُكَذِّبُونِ
yukadhibūni
they will deny me
He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me

26:13
Ayah 26:13
وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ
وَيَضِيقُ
wayaḍīqu
And straitens
صَدْرِى
ṣadrī
my breast
وَلَا
walā
and not
يَنطَلِقُ
yanṭaliqu
expresses well
لِسَانِى
lisānī
my tongue
فَأَرْسِلْ
fa-arsil
so send
إِلَىٰ
ilā
for
هَـٰرُونَ
hārūna
Harun
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron.

26:14
Ayah 26:14
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ
وَلَهُمْ
walahum
And they have
عَلَىَّ
ʿalayya
against me
ذَنۢبٌ
dhanbun
a crime
فَأَخَافُ
fa-akhāfu
so I fear
أَن
an
that
يَقْتُلُونِ
yaqtulūni
they will kill me
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me."

26:15
Ayah 26:15
قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
كَلَّا
kallā
Nay
فَٱذْهَبَا
fa-idh'habā
go both of you
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ
biāyātinā
with Our Signs
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, We
مَعَكُم
maʿakum
(are) with you
مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
mus'tamiʿūna
listening
[Allāh] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening.

26:16
Ayah 26:16
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
فَأْتِيَا
fatiyā
So go both of you
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna
(to) Firaun
فَقُولَآ
faqūlā
and say
إِنَّا
innā
'Indeed, we
رَسُولُ
rasūlu
(are the) Messenger
رَبِّ
rabbi
(of the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers1 of the Lord of the worlds,

26:17
Ayah 26:17
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
أَنْ
an
[That]
أَرْسِلْ
arsil
send
مَعَنَا
maʿanā
with us
بَنِىٓ
banī
(the) Children of Israel.'
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla
(the) Children of Israel.'
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'"

26:18
Ayah 26:18
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
أَلَمْ
alam
Did not
نُرَبِّكَ
nurabbika
we bring you up
فِينَا
fīnā
among us
وَلِيدًا
walīdan
(as) a child
وَلَبِثْتَ
walabith'ta
and you remained
فِينَا
fīnā
among us
مِنْ
min
of
عُمُرِكَ
ʿumurika
your life
سِنِينَ
sinīna
years
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?

26:19
Ayah 26:19
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
وَفَعَلْتَ
wafaʿalta
And you did
فَعْلَتَكَ
faʿlataka
your deed
ٱلَّتِى
allatī
which
فَعَلْتَ
faʿalta
you did
وَأَنتَ
wa-anta
and you
مِنَ
mina
(were) of
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīna
the ungrateful
And [then] you did your deed which you did,1 and you were of the ungrateful."

26:20
Ayah 26:20
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
فَعَلْتُهَآ
faʿaltuhā
I did it
إِذًا
idhan
when
وَأَنَا۠
wa-anā
I
مِنَ
mina
(was) of
ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
l-ḍālīna
those who are astray
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray [i.e., ignorant].

26:21
Ayah 26:21
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
فَفَرَرْتُ
fafarartu
So I fled
مِنكُمْ
minkum
from you
لَمَّا
lammā
when
خِفْتُكُمْ
khif'tukum
I feared you
فَوَهَبَ
fawahaba
But granted
لِى
to me
رَبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
حُكْمًا
ḥuk'man
judgment
وَجَعَلَنِى
wajaʿalanī
and made me
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
l-mur'salīna
the Messengers
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me judgement [i.e., wisdom and prophet hood] and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.

26:22
Ayah 26:22
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
وَتِلْكَ
watil'ka
And this
نِعْمَةٌ
niʿ'matun
(is the) favor
تَمُنُّهَا
tamunnuhā
with which you reproach
عَلَىَّ
ʿalayya
[on] me
أَنْ
an
that
عَبَّدتَّ
ʿabbadtta
you have enslaved
بَنِىٓ
banī
(the) Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla
(the) Children of Israel
And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?"

26:23
Ayah 26:23
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
Firaun said
فِرْعَوْنُ
fir'ʿawnu
Firaun said
وَمَا
wamā
And what
رَبُّ
rabbu
(is the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds?"

26:24
Ayah 26:24
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
رَبُّ
rabbu
Lord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
وَمَا
wamā
and whatever
بَيْنَهُمَآ
baynahumā
(is) between them
إِن
in
if
كُنتُم
kuntum
you (should) be
مُّوقِنِينَ
mūqinīna
convinced
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced."

26:25
Ayah 26:25
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
لِمَنْ
liman
to those
حَوْلَهُۥٓ
ḥawlahu
around him
أَلَا
alā
Do not
تَسْتَمِعُونَ
tastamiʿūna
you hear
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?"

26:26
Ayah 26:26
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
رَبُّكُمْ
rabbukum
Your Lord
وَرَبُّ
warabbu
and (the) Lord
ءَابَآئِكُمُ
ābāikumu
(of) your forefathers
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
l-awalīna
(of) your forefathers
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers."

26:27
Ayah 26:27
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَسُولَكُمُ
rasūlakumu
your Messenger
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhī
who
أُرْسِلَ
ur'sila
has been sent
إِلَيْكُمْ
ilaykum
to you
لَمَجْنُونٌ
lamajnūnun
(is) surely mad
[Pharaoh] said,1 "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad."

26:28
Ayah 26:28
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
رَبُّ
rabbu
Lord
ٱلْمَشْرِقِ
l-mashriqi
(of) the east
وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ
wal-maghribi
and the west
وَمَا
wamā
and whatever
بَيْنَهُمَآ
baynahumā
(is) between them
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you were
تَعْقِلُونَ
taʿqilūna
(to) reason
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason."

26:29
Ayah 26:29
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
لَئِنِ
la-ini
If
ٱتَّخَذْتَ
ittakhadhta
you take
إِلَـٰهًا
ilāhan
a god
غَيْرِى
ghayrī
other than me
لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ
la-ajʿalannaka
I will surely make you
مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ
l-masjūnīna
those imprisoned
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned."

26:30
Ayah 26:30
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
أَوَلَوْ
awalaw
Even if
جِئْتُكَ
ji'tuka
I bring you
بِشَىْءٍ
bishayin
something
مُّبِينٍ
mubīnin
manifest
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you something [i.e., proof] manifest?"

26:31
Ayah 26:31
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
فَأْتِ
fati
Then bring
بِهِۦٓ
bihi
it
إِن
in
if
كُنتَ
kunta
you are
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
l-ṣādiqīna
the truthful
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful."

26:32
Ayah 26:32
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ
فَأَلْقَىٰ
fa-alqā
So he threw
عَصَاهُ
ʿaṣāhu
his staff
فَإِذَا
fa-idhā
and behold
هِىَ
hiya
It
ثُعْبَانٌ
thuʿ'bānun
(was) a serpent
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnun
manifest
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.1

26:33
Ayah 26:33
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
وَنَزَعَ
wanazaʿa
And he drew out
يَدَهُۥ
yadahu
his hand
فَإِذَا
fa-idhā
and behold
هِىَ
hiya
It
بَيْضَآءُ
bayḍāu
(was) white
لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
lilnnāẓirīna
for the observers
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.

26:34
Ayah 26:34
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
لِلْمَلَإِ
lil'mala-i
to the chiefs
حَوْلَهُۥٓ
ḥawlahu
around him
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
this
لَسَـٰحِرٌ
lasāḥirun
(is) surely a magician
عَلِيمٌ
ʿalīmun
learned
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician.

26:35
Ayah 26:35
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
يُرِيدُ
yurīdu
He wants
أَن
an
to
يُخْرِجَكُم
yukh'rijakum
drive you out
مِّنْ
min
from
أَرْضِكُم
arḍikum
your land
بِسِحْرِهِۦ
bisiḥ'rihi
by his magic
فَمَاذَا
famādhā
so what
تَأْمُرُونَ
tamurūna
(do) you advise
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?"

26:36
Ayah 26:36
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
They said
أَرْجِهْ
arjih
Postpone him
وَأَخَاهُ
wa-akhāhu
and his brother
وَٱبْعَثْ
wa-ib'ʿath
and send
فِى
in
ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ
l-madāini
the cities
حَـٰشِرِينَ
ḥāshirīna
gatherers
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers

26:37
Ayah 26:37
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ
يَأْتُوكَ
yatūka
They (will) bring to you
بِكُلِّ
bikulli
every
سَحَّارٍ
saḥḥārin
magician
عَلِيمٍ
ʿalīmin
learned
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician."

26:38
Ayah 26:38
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
فَجُمِعَ
fajumiʿa
So were assembled
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
l-saḥaratu
the magicians
لِمِيقَـٰتِ
limīqāti
for (the) appointment
يَوْمٍ
yawmin
(on) a day
مَّعْلُومٍ
maʿlūmin
well-known
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.1

26:39
Ayah 26:39
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
وَقِيلَ
waqīla
And it was said
لِلنَّاسِ
lilnnāsi
to the people
هَلْ
hal
Will
أَنتُم
antum
you
مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
muj'tamiʿūna
assemble
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate.

26:40
Ayah 26:40
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
لَعَلَّنَا
laʿallanā
That we may
نَتَّبِعُ
nattabiʿu
follow
ٱلسَّحَرَةَ
l-saḥarata
the magicians
إِن
in
if
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they are
هُمُ
humu
they are
ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
l-ghālibīna
the victorious
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?"

26:41
Ayah 26:41
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
So when
جَآءَ
jāa
came
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
l-saḥaratu
the magicians
قَالُوا۟
qālū
they said
لِفِرْعَوْنَ
lifir'ʿawna
to Firaun
أَئِنَّ
a-inna
Is there
لَنَا
lanā
for us
لَأَجْرًا
la-ajran
a reward
إِن
in
if
كُنَّا
kunnā
we are
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
we are
ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
l-ghālibīna
the victorious
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?"

26:42
Ayah 26:42
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
نَعَمْ
naʿam
Yes
وَإِنَّكُمْ
wa-innakum
and indeed you
إِذًا
idhan
then
لَّمِنَ
lamina
surely (will be) of
ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
l-muqarabīna
the ones who are brought near
He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]."

26:43
Ayah 26:43
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
Said
لَهُم
lahum
to them
مُّوسَىٰٓ
mūsā
Musa
أَلْقُوا۟
alqū
Throw
مَآ
what
أَنتُم
antum
you
مُّلْقُونَ
mul'qūna
(are) going to throw
Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw."

26:44
Ayah 26:44
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
فَأَلْقَوْا۟
fa-alqaw
So they threw
حِبَالَهُمْ
ḥibālahum
their ropes
وَعِصِيَّهُمْ
waʿiṣiyyahum
and their staffs
وَقَالُوا۟
waqālū
and said
بِعِزَّةِ
biʿizzati
By the might
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna
(of) Firaun
إِنَّا
innā
indeed, we
لَنَحْنُ
lanaḥnu
surely, we
ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
l-ghālibūna
(are) the victorious
So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant."

26:45
Ayah 26:45
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
فَأَلْقَىٰ
fa-alqā
Then threw
مُوسَىٰ
mūsā
Musa
عَصَاهُ
ʿaṣāhu
his staff
فَإِذَا
fa-idhā
and behold
هِىَ
hiya
It
تَلْقَفُ
talqafu
swallowed
مَا
what
يَأْفِكُونَ
yafikūna
they falsified
Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.

26:46
Ayah 26:46
فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ
فَأُلْقِىَ
fa-ul'qiya
Then fell down
ٱلسَّحَرَةُ
l-saḥaratu
the magicians
سَـٰجِدِينَ
sājidīna
prostrate
So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allāh].

26:47
Ayah 26:47
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
They said
ءَامَنَّا
āmannā
We believe
بِرَبِّ
birabbi
in (the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,

26:48
Ayah 26:48
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
رَبِّ
rabbi
Lord
مُوسَىٰ
mūsā
(of) Musa
وَهَـٰرُونَ
wahārūna
and Harun
The Lord of Moses and Aaron."

26:49
Ayah 26:49
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
ءَامَنتُمْ
āmantum
You believed
لَهُۥ
lahu
in him
قَبْلَ
qabla
before
أَنْ
an
[that]
ءَاذَنَ
ādhana
I gave permission
لَكُمْ
lakum
to you
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, he
لَكَبِيرُكُمُ
lakabīrukumu
(is) surely your chief
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
who
عَلَّمَكُمُ
ʿallamakumu
has taught you
ٱلسِّحْرَ
l-siḥ'ra
the magic
فَلَسَوْفَ
falasawfa
so surely soon
تَعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūna
you will know
لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ
la-uqaṭṭiʿanna
I will surely cut off
أَيْدِيَكُمْ
aydiyakum
your hands
وَأَرْجُلَكُم
wa-arjulakum
and your feet
مِّنْ
min
of
خِلَـٰفٍ
khilāfin
opposite sides
وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ
wala-uṣallibannakum
and I will surely crucify you
أَجْمَعِينَ
ajmaʿīna
all
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed him [i.e., Moses] before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all."

26:50
Ayah 26:50
قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
لَا
No
ضَيْرَ
ḍayra
harm
إِنَّآ
innā
Indeed, we
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
رَبِّنَا
rabbinā
our Lord
مُنقَلِبُونَ
munqalibūna
(will) return
They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.

26:51
Ayah 26:51
إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
نَطْمَعُ
naṭmaʿu
hope
أَن
an
that
يَغْفِرَ
yaghfira
will forgive
لَنَا
lanā
us
رَبُّنَا
rabbunā
our Lord
خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ
khaṭāyānā
our sins
أَن
an
because
كُنَّآ
kunnā
we are
أَوَّلَ
awwala
(the) first
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīna
(of) the believers
Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers."

26:52
Ayah 26:52
۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
وَأَوْحَيْنَآ
wa-awḥaynā
And We inspired
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
مُوسَىٰٓ
mūsā
Musa
أَنْ
an
[that]
أَسْرِ
asri
Travel by night
بِعِبَادِىٓ
biʿibādī
with My slaves
إِنَّكُم
innakum
indeed, you
مُّتَّبَعُونَ
muttabaʿūna
(will be) followed
And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued."

26:53
Ayah 26:53
فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
فَأَرْسَلَ
fa-arsala
Then sent
فِرْعَوْنُ
fir'ʿawnu
Firaun
فِى
in
ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ
l-madāini
the cities
حَـٰشِرِينَ
ḥāshirīna
gatherers
Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers1

26:54
Ayah 26:54
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāi
these
لَشِرْذِمَةٌ
lashir'dhimatun
(are) certainly a band
قَلِيلُونَ
qalīlūna
small
[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band,

26:55
Ayah 26:55
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
وَإِنَّهُمْ
wa-innahum
And indeed, they
لَنَا
lanā
[to] us
لَغَآئِظُونَ
laghāiẓūna
(are) surely enraging
And indeed, they are enraging us,
— The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab
26:56
Ayah 26:56
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَـٰذِرُونَ
وَإِنَّا
wa-innā
And indeed, we
لَجَمِيعٌ
lajamīʿun
(are) surely a multitude
حَـٰذِرُونَ
ḥādhirūna
forewarned
And indeed, we are a cautious society..."

26:57
Ayah 26:57
فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم
fa-akhrajnāhum
So We expelled them
مِّن
min
from
جَنَّـٰتٍ
jannātin
gardens
وَعُيُونٍ
waʿuyūnin
and springs
So We removed them from gardens and springs

26:58
Ayah 26:58
وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
وَكُنُوزٍ
wakunūzin
And treasures
وَمَقَامٍ
wamaqāmin
and a place
كَرِيمٍ
karīmin
honorable
And treasures and honorable station1 -

26:59
Ayah 26:59
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālika
Thus
وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا
wa-awrathnāhā
And We caused to inherit them
بَنِىٓ
banī
(the) Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla
(the) Children of Israel
Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel.

26:60
Ayah 26:60
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم
fa-atbaʿūhum
So they followed them
مُّشْرِقِينَ
mush'riqīna
(at) sunrise
So they pursued them at sunrise.

26:61
Ayah 26:61
فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
Then when
تَرَٰٓءَا
tarāā
saw each other
ٱلْجَمْعَانِ
l-jamʿāni
the two hosts
قَالَ
qāla
said
أَصْحَـٰبُ
aṣḥābu
(the) companions
مُوسَىٰٓ
mūsā
(of) Musa
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
لَمُدْرَكُونَ
lamud'rakūna
(are) surely to be overtaken
And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken!"

26:62
Ayah 26:62
قَالَ كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
كَلَّآ
kallā
Nay
إِنَّ
inna
indeed
مَعِىَ
maʿiya
with me
رَبِّى
rabbī
(is) my Lord
سَيَهْدِينِ
sayahdīni
He will guide me
[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me."

26:63
Ayah 26:63
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ
fa-awḥaynā
Then We inspired
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
مُوسَىٰٓ
mūsā
Musa
أَنِ
ani
[that]
ٱضْرِب
iḍ'rib
Strike
بِّعَصَاكَ
biʿaṣāka
with your staff
ٱلْبَحْرَ
l-baḥra
the sea
فَٱنفَلَقَ
fa-infalaqa
So it parted
فَكَانَ
fakāna
and became
كُلُّ
kullu
each
فِرْقٍ
fir'qin
part
كَٱلطَّوْدِ
kal-ṭawdi
like the mountain
ٱلْعَظِيمِ
l-ʿaẓīmi
[the] great
Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.

26:64
Ayah 26:64
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
وَأَزْلَفْنَا
wa-azlafnā
And We brought near
ثَمَّ
thamma
there
ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
l-ākharīna
the others
And We advanced thereto the others [i.e., the pursuers].

26:65
Ayah 26:65
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
وَأَنجَيْنَا
wa-anjaynā
And We saved
مُوسَىٰ
mūsā
Musa
وَمَن
waman
and who
مَّعَهُۥٓ
maʿahu
(were) with him
أَجْمَعِينَ
ajmaʿīna
all
And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.

26:66
Ayah 26:66
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
أَغْرَقْنَا
aghraqnā
We drowned
ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
l-ākharīna
the others
Then We drowned the others.

26:67
Ayah 26:67
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةً
laāyatan
surely (is) a Sign
وَمَا
wamā
but not
كَانَ
kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم
aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīna
believers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.

26:68
Ayah 26:68
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ
lahuwa
surely He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

26:69
Ayah 26:69
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
وَٱتْلُ
wa-ut'lu
And recite
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
to them
نَبَأَ
naba-a
(the) news
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
ib'rāhīma
(of) Ibrahim
And recite to them the news of Abraham,
— The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab
26:70
Ayah 26:70
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ
إِذْ
idh
When
قَالَ
qāla
he said
لِأَبِيهِ
li-abīhi
to his father
وَقَوْمِهِۦ
waqawmihi
and his people
مَا
What
تَعْبُدُونَ
taʿbudūna
(do) you worship
When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?"

26:71
Ayah 26:71
قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَـٰكِفِينَ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
نَعْبُدُ
naʿbudu
We worship
أَصْنَامًا
aṣnāman
idols
فَنَظَلُّ
fanaẓallu
so we will remain
لَهَا
lahā
to them
عَـٰكِفِينَ
ʿākifīna
devoted
They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted."

26:72
Ayah 26:72
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
هَلْ
hal
Do
يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ
yasmaʿūnakum
they hear you
إِذْ
idh
when
تَدْعُونَ
tadʿūna
you call
He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate?

26:73
Ayah 26:73
أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ
أَوْ
aw
Or
يَنفَعُونَكُمْ
yanfaʿūnakum
(do) they benefit you
أَوْ
aw
or
يَضُرُّونَ
yaḍurrūna
they harm (you)
Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?"

26:74
Ayah 26:74
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
بَلْ
bal
Nay
وَجَدْنَآ
wajadnā
but we found
ءَابَآءَنَا
ābāanā
our forefathers
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālika
like that
يَفْعَلُونَ
yafʿalūna
doing
They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus."

26:75
Ayah 26:75
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
أَفَرَءَيْتُم
afara-aytum
Do you see
مَّا
what
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you have been
تَعْبُدُونَ
taʿbudūna
worshipping
He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping,

26:76
Ayah 26:76
أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
أَنتُمْ
antum
You
وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ
waābāukumu
and your forefathers
ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
l-aqdamūna
and your forefathers
You and your ancient forefathers?

26:77
Ayah 26:77
فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
فَإِنَّهُمْ
fa-innahum
Indeed, they
عَدُوٌّ
ʿaduwwun
(are) enemies
لِّىٓ
to me
إِلَّا
illā
except
رَبَّ
rabba
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,1

26:78
Ayah 26:78
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
The One Who
خَلَقَنِى
khalaqanī
created me
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
and He
يَهْدِينِ
yahdīni
guides me
Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me.

26:79
Ayah 26:79
وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ
وَٱلَّذِى
wa-alladhī
And the One Who
هُوَ
huwa
[He]
يُطْعِمُنِى
yuṭ'ʿimunī
gives me food
وَيَسْقِينِ
wayasqīni
and gives me drink
And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink.

26:80
Ayah 26:80
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
وَإِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
مَرِضْتُ
mariḍ'tu
I am ill
فَهُوَ
fahuwa
then He
يَشْفِينِ
yashfīni
cures me
And when I am ill, it is He who cures me

26:81
Ayah 26:81
وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ
وَٱلَّذِى
wa-alladhī
And the One Who
يُمِيتُنِى
yumītunī
will cause me to die
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
يُحْيِينِ
yuḥ'yīni
he will give me life
And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life

26:82
Ayah 26:82
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
وَٱلَّذِىٓ
wa-alladhī
And the One Who
أَطْمَعُ
aṭmaʿu
I hope
أَن
an
that
يَغْفِرَ
yaghfira
He will forgive
لِى
for me
خَطِيٓـَٔتِى
khaṭīatī
my faults
يَوْمَ
yawma
(on the) Day
ٱلدِّينِ
l-dīni
(of) the Judgment
And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense."

26:83
Ayah 26:83
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
رَبِّ
rabbi
My Lord
هَبْ
hab
Grant
لِى
[for] me
حُكْمًا
ḥuk'man
wisdom
وَأَلْحِقْنِى
wa-alḥiq'nī
and join me
بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
bil-ṣāliḥīna
with the righteous
[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous.

26:84
Ayah 26:84
وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
وَٱجْعَل
wa-ij'ʿal
And grant
لِّى
[for] me
لِسَانَ
lisāna
a mention
صِدْقٍ
ṣid'qin
(of) honor
فِى
among
ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
l-ākhirīna
the later (generations)
And grant me a mention [i.e., reputation] of honor among later generations.

26:85
Ayah 26:85
وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
وَٱجْعَلْنِى
wa-ij'ʿalnī
And make me
مِن
min
of
وَرَثَةِ
warathati
(the) inheritors
جَنَّةِ
jannati
(of) Garden(s)
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
l-naʿīmi
(of) Delight
And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.

26:86
Ayah 26:86
وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
وَٱغْفِرْ
wa-igh'fir
And forgive
لِأَبِىٓ
li-abī
my father
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, he
كَانَ
kāna
is
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
l-ḍālīna
those astray
And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray.

26:87
Ayah 26:87
وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تُخْزِنِى
tukh'zinī
disgrace me
يَوْمَ
yawma
(on the) Day
يُبْعَثُونَ
yub'ʿathūna
they are resurrected
And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected -

26:88
Ayah 26:88
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ
يَوْمَ
yawma
(The) Day
لَا
not
يَنفَعُ
yanfaʿu
will benefit
مَالٌ
mālun
wealth
وَلَا
walā
and not
بَنُونَ
banūna
sons
The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children

26:89
Ayah 26:89
إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
إِلَّا
illā
Except
مَنْ
man
(he) who
أَتَى
atā
comes
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
(to) Allah
بِقَلْبٍ
biqalbin
with a heart
سَلِيمٍ
salīmin
sound
But only one who comes to Allāh with a sound heart."

26:90
Ayah 26:90
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
وَأُزْلِفَتِ
wa-uz'lifati
And (will be) brought near
ٱلْجَنَّةُ
l-janatu
the Paradise
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
lil'muttaqīna
for the righteous
And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous.

26:91
Ayah 26:91
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ
وَبُرِّزَتِ
waburrizati
And (will be) made manifest
ٱلْجَحِيمُ
l-jaḥīmu
the Hellfire
لِلْغَاوِينَ
lil'ghāwīna
to the deviators
And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators,

Ayah 26:92
وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
وَقِيلَ
waqīla
And it will be said
لَهُمْ
lahum
to them
أَيْنَ
ayna
Where
مَا
(is) that
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you used
تَعْبُدُونَ
taʿbudūna
(to) worship
And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship

26:93
Ayah 26:93
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
مِن

Besides Allah
دُونِ
dūni
Besides Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Besides Allah
هَلْ
hal
Can
يَنصُرُونَكُمْ
yanṣurūnakum
they help you
أَوْ
aw
or
يَنتَصِرُونَ
yantaṣirūna
help themselves
Other than Allāh? Can they help you or help themselves?"

26:94
Ayah 26:94
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟
fakub'kibū
Then they will be overturned
فِيهَا
fīhā
into it
هُمْ
hum
they
وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
wal-ghāwūna
and the deviators
So they will be overturned into it [i.e., Hellfire], they and the deviators

Ayah 26:95
وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ
وَجُنُودُ
wajunūdu
And (the) hosts
إِبْلِيسَ
ib'līsa
(of) Iblis
أَجْمَعُونَ
ajmaʿūna
all together
And the soldiers of Iblees, all together.

26:96
Ayah 26:96
قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ
قَالُوا۟

They (will) say
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
فِيهَا

in it
يَخْتَصِمُونَ
yakhtaṣimūna
(are) disputing
They will say while they dispute therein,

Ayah 26:97
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
تَٱللَّهِ
tal-lahi
By Allah
إِن

indeed
كُنَّا
kunnā
we were
لَفِى
lafī
surely in
ضَلَـٰلٍ
ḍalālin
error
مُّبِينٍ
mubīnin
clear
"By Allāh, we were indeed in manifest error

Ayah 26:98
إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
إِذْ
idh
When
نُسَوِّيكُم
nusawwīkum
we equated you
بِرَبِّ
birabbi
with (the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds.

26:99
Ayah 26:99
وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَضَلَّنَآ
aḍallanā
misguided us
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
l-muj'rimūna
the criminals
And no one misguided us except the criminals.

26:100
Ayah 26:100
فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَـٰفِعِينَ
فَمَا
famā
So (now) not
لَنَا
lanā
we have
مِن
min
any
شَـٰفِعِينَ
shāfiʿīna
intercessors
So now we have no intercessors

26:101
Ayah 26:101
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ
وَلَا
walā
And not
صَدِيقٍ
ṣadīqin
a friend
حَمِيمٍ
ḥamīmin
close
And not a devoted friend.

26:102
Ayah 26:102
فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
فَلَوْ
falaw
Then if
أَنَّ

we had
كَرَّةً
karratan
a return
فَنَكُونَ
fanakūna
then we could be
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīna
the believers
Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers..."1

26:103
Ayah 26:103
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةً
laāyatan
surely is a Sign
وَمَا
wamā
but not
كَانَ
kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم
aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīna
believers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.

26:104
Ayah 26:104
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ
lahuwa
surely He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

26:105
Ayah 26:105
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
كَذَّبَتْ
kadhabat
Denied
قَوْمُ
qawmu
(the) people
نُوحٍ
nūḥin
(of) Nuh
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
l-mur'salīna
the Messengers
The people of Noah denied the messengers1

Ayah 26:106
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
إِذْ

When
قَالَ

to them
أَخُوهُمْ
akhūhum
their brother
نُوحٌ
nūḥun
Nuh
أَلَا
alā
Will not
تَتَّقُونَ
tattaqūna
you fear (Allah)
When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?

26:107
Ayah 26:107
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed, I am
لَكُمْ
lakum
to you
رَسُولٌ
rasūlun
a Messenger
أَمِينٌ
amīnun
trustworthy
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.

26:108
Ayah 26:108
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟
fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ

Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ
wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me
So fear Allāh and obey me.

26:109
Ayah 26:109
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ
asalukum
I ask (of) you
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
for it
مِنْ
min
any
أَجْرٍ
ajrin
payment
إِنْ
in
Not
أَجْرِىَ
ajriya
(is) my payment
إِلَّا
illā
but
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
from
رَبِّ
rabbi
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.

26:110
Ayah 26:110
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟
fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ

Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ
wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me
So fear Allāh and obey me."

26:111
Ayah 26:111
۞ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ
قَالُوٓا۟

They said
أَنُؤْمِنُ
anu'minu
Should we believe
لَكَ
laka
in you
وَٱتَّبَعَكَ
wa-ittabaʿaka
while followed you
ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ
l-ardhalūna
the lowest
They said, "Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]?"

26:112
Ayah 26:112
قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
وَمَا
wamā
And what
عِلْمِى
ʿil'mī
(do) I know
بِمَا
bimā
of what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used
يَعْمَلُونَ
yaʿmalūna
(to) do
He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do?

26:113
Ayah 26:113
إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ
إِنْ
in
Verily
حِسَابُهُمْ
ḥisābuhum
their account
إِلَّا
illā
(is) but
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
upon
رَبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
لَوْ
law
if
تَشْعُرُونَ
tashʿurūna
you perceive
Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive.

26:114
Ayah 26:114
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَنَا۠
anā
I am
بِطَارِدِ
biṭāridi
the one to drive away
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīna
the believers
And I am not one to drive away the believers.

26:115
Ayah 26:115
إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
إِنْ
in
Not
أَنَا۠
anā
I am
إِلَّا
illā
but
نَذِيرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnun
clear
I am only a clear warner."

26:116
Ayah 26:116
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ
قَالُوا۟

They said
لَئِن
la-in
If
لَّمْ
lam
not
تَنتَهِ
tantahi
you desist
يَـٰنُوحُ
yānūḥu
O Nuh
لَتَكُونَنَّ
latakūnanna
Surely you will be
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ
l-marjūmīna
those who are stoned
They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned."

26:117
Ayah 26:117
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
رَبِّ
rabbi
My Lord
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
قَوْمِى
qawmī
my people
كَذَّبُونِ
kadhabūni
have denied me
He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me.

26:118
Ayah 26:118
فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
فَٱفْتَحْ
fa-if'taḥ
So judge
بَيْنِى
baynī
between me
وَبَيْنَهُمْ
wabaynahum
and between them
فَتْحًا
fatḥan
(with decisive) judgment
وَنَجِّنِى
wanajjinī
and save me
وَمَن
waman
and who
مَّعِىَ
maʿiya
(are) with me
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīna
the believers
Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers."

26:119
Ayah 26:119
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ
fa-anjaynāhu
So We saved him
وَمَن
waman
and who
مَّعَهُۥ
maʿahu
(were) with him
فِى
in
ٱلْفُلْكِ
l-ful'ki
the ship
ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
l-mashḥūni
laden
So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.

26:120
Ayah 26:120
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
أَغْرَقْنَا
aghraqnā
We drowned
بَعْدُ
baʿdu
thereafter
ٱلْبَاقِينَ
l-bāqīna
the remaining ones
Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones.

26:121
Ayah 26:121
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّ

Indeed
فِى

ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةً
laāyatan
surely, (is) a sign
وَمَا
wamā
but not
كَانَ
kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم
aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīna
believers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.

Ayah 26:122
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ
lahuwa
surely, He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

Ayah 26:123
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
كَذَّبَتْ

Denied
عَادٌ
ʿādun
(the people) of Aad
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
l-mur'salīna
the Messengers
ʿAad denied the messengers

Ayah 26:124
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
إِذْ

When

أَخُوهُمْ
akhūhum
their brother
هُودٌ
hūdun
Hud
أَلَا
alā
Will not
تَتَّقُونَ
tattaqūna
you fear (Allah)
When their brother Hūd said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?

Ayah 26:125
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed, I am
لَكُمْ
lakum
to you
رَسُولٌ
rasūlun
a Messenger
أَمِينٌ
amīnun
trustworthy
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.

Ayah 26:126
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟

and obey me
So fear Allāh and obey me.

Ayah 26:127

وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ

I ask you

for it

payment

Not
أَجْرِىَ
ajriya
(is) my payment
إِلَّا

except
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā

رَبِّ
rabbi

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.

Ayah 26:128
أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ
أَتَبْنُونَ
atabnūna
Do you construct
بِكُلِّ
bikulli
on every
رِيعٍ
rīʿin
elevation
ءَايَةً
āyatan
a sign
تَعْبَثُونَ
taʿbathūna
amusing yourselves
Do you construct on every elevation a sign,1 amusing yourselves,

Ayah 26:129
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ
watattakhidhūna
And take for yourselves
مَصَانِعَ
maṣāniʿa
strongholds
لَعَلَّكُمْ
laʿallakum
that you may
تَخْلُدُونَ
takhludūna
live forever
And take for yourselves constructions [i.e., palaces and fortresses] that you might abide eternally?

Ayah 26:130
وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ
وَإِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
بَطَشْتُم
baṭashtum
you seize
بَطَشْتُمْ
baṭashtum
you seize
جَبَّارِينَ
jabbārīna
(as) tyrants
And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.

Ayah 26:131
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟

So fear
ٱللَّهَ

wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me
So fear Allāh and obey me.

26:132
Ayah 26:132
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ
وَٱتَّقُوا۟

And fear
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhī
the One Who
أَمَدَّكُم
amaddakum
has aided you
بِمَا
bimā
with what
تَعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūna
you know
And fear He who provided you with that which you know,

Ayah 26:133
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَـٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ
أَمَدَّكُم
amaddakum
He has aided you
بِأَنْعَـٰمٍ
bi-anʿāmin
with cattle
وَبَنِينَ
wabanīna
and children
Provided you with grazing livestock and children

Ayah 26:134
وَجَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
وَجَنَّـٰتٍ
wajannātin
And gardens
وَعُيُونٍ
waʿuyūnin
and springs
And gardens and springs.

26:135
Ayah 26:135
إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed, I
أَخَافُ

[I] fear
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
for you
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba
(the) punishment
يَوْمٍ
yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٍ
ʿaẓīmin
Great
Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."

26:136
Ayah 26:136
قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ
قَالُوا۟

They said
سَوَآءٌ
sawāon
(It is) same
عَلَيْنَآ
ʿalaynā
to us
أَوَعَظْتَ
awaʿaẓta
whether you advise
أَمْ
am
or
لَمْ
lam
not
تَكُن
takun
you are
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ
l-wāʿiẓīna
the advisors
They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors.

26:137
Ayah 26:137
إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
إِنْ
in
Not
هَـٰذَآ
hādhā
(is) this
إِلَّا
illā
but
خُلُقُ
khuluqu
(the) custom
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
l-awalīna
(of) the former (people)
This is not but the custom of the former peoples,

26:138
Ayah 26:138
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
we
بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
bimuʿadhabīna
(are) the ones to be punished
And we are not to be punished."

26:139
Ayah 26:139
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
فَكَذَّبُوهُ
fakadhabūhu
So they denied him
فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ
fa-ahlaknāhum
then We destroyed them
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةً
laāyatan
surely, is a sign
وَمَا
wamā
but not
كَانَ
kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم
aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīna
believers
And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.

26:140
Ayah 26:140
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ
lahuwa
surely, He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

26:141
Ayah 26:141
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
كَذَّبَتْ

ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

the Messengers
Thamūd denied the messengers

Ayah 26:142
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
إِذْ

to them
أَخُوهُمْ
akhūhum
their brother
صَـٰلِحٌ
ṣāliḥun
Salih
أَلَا
alā
Will not
تَتَّقُونَ
tattaqūna
you fear (Allah)
When their brother Ṣāliḥ said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?

26:143
Ayah 26:143
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed, I am
لَكُمْ
lakum
to you
رَسُولٌ
rasūlun
a Messenger
أَمِينٌ
amīnun
trustworthy
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.

26:144
Ayah 26:144
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟

So fear
ٱللَّهَ

wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me
So fear Allāh and obey me.

26:145
Ayah 26:145
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ
asalukum
I ask you
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
for it
مِنْ
min
any
أَجْرٍ
ajrin
payment
إِنْ
in
Not
أَجْرِىَ
ajriya
(is) my payment
إِلَّا
illā
except
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
from
رَبِّ
rabbi
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.

Ayah 26:146
أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ
أَتُتْرَكُونَ

Will you be left
فِى
in
مَا

هَـٰهُنَآ
hāhunā
(is) here
ءَامِنِينَ
āminīna
secure
Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death],

فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
فِى
In
جَنَّـٰتٍ
jannātin
gardens
وَعُيُونٍ
waʿuyūnin
and springs
Within gardens and springs

Ayah 26:148
وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ
وَزُرُوعٍ
wazurūʿin
And cornfields
وَنَخْلٍ

and date-palms
طَلْعُهَا
ṭalʿuhā
its spadix
هَضِيمٌ
haḍīmun
soft
And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit?

Ayah 26:149
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَـٰرِهِينَ
وَتَنْحِتُونَ
watanḥitūna
And you carve
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْجِبَالِ
l-jibāli
the mountains
بُيُوتًا
buyūtan
houses
فَـٰرِهِينَ
fārihīna
skillfully
And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill.

26:150
Ayah 26:150
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟
fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ
wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me
So fear Allāh and obey me.

26:151
Ayah 26:151
وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تُطِيعُوٓا۟
tuṭīʿū
obey
أَمْرَ
amra
(the) command
ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
l-mus'rifīna
(of) the transgressors
And do not obey the order of the transgressors,

26:152
Ayah 26:152
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
Those who
يُفْسِدُونَ
yuf'sidūna
spread corruption
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
يُصْلِحُونَ
yuṣ'liḥūna
reform
Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend."

26:153
Ayah 26:153
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
They said
إِنَّمَآ
innamā
Only
أَنتَ
anta
you
مِنَ
mina
(are) of
ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
l-musaḥarīna
those bewitched
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.

26:154
Ayah 26:154
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
مَآ
Not
أَنتَ
anta
you
إِلَّا
illā
(are) except
بَشَرٌ
basharun
a man
مِّثْلُنَا
mith'lunā
like us
فَأْتِ
fati
so bring
بِـَٔايَةٍ
biāyatin
a sign
إِن
in
if
كُنتَ
kunta
you
مِنَ
mina
(are) of
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
l-ṣādiqīna
the truthful
You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful."

26:155
Ayah 26:155
قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
هَـٰذِهِۦ
hādhihi
This
نَاقَةٌ
nāqatun
(is) a she-camel
لَّهَا
lahā
For her
شِرْبٌ
shir'bun
(is a share of) drink
وَلَكُمْ
walakum
and for you
شِرْبُ
shir'bu
(is a share of) drink
يَوْمٍ
yawmin
(on) a day
مَّعْلُومٍ
maʿlūmin
known
He said, "This is a she-camel.1 For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day.

26:156
Ayah 26:156
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تَمَسُّوهَا
tamassūhā
touch her
بِسُوٓءٍ
bisūin
with harm
فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ
fayakhudhakum
lest seize you
عَذَابُ
ʿadhābu
(the) punishment
يَوْمٍ
yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٍ
ʿaẓīmin
Great
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day."

26:157
Ayah 26:157
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِينَ
فَعَقَرُوهَا
faʿaqarūhā
But they hamstrung her
فَأَصْبَحُوا۟
fa-aṣbaḥū
then they became
نَـٰدِمِينَ
nādimīna
regretful
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful.

26:158
Ayah 26:158
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
فَأَخَذَهُمُ
fa-akhadhahumu
So seized them
ٱلْعَذَابُ
l-ʿadhābu
the punishment
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةً
laāyatan
surely is a sign
وَمَا
wamā
but not
كَانَ
kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم
aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīna
believers
And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.

Ayah 26:159
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ
lahuwa
surely He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

Ayah 26:160
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

(of) Lut
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
l-mur'salīna
the Messengers
The people of Lot denied the messengers

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

their brother
لُوطٌ
lūṭun
Lut
أَلَا
alā
Will not
تَتَّقُونَ

you fear (Allah)
When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?

Ayah 26:162
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
إِنِّى

Indeed, I am
لَكُمْ

رَسُولٌ

trustworthy
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.

وَمَآ

And not

Not
أَجْرِىَ

رَبِّ

ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.

Ayah 26:165
أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
أَتَأْتُونَ
atatūna
Do you approach
ٱلذُّكْرَانَ
l-dhuk'rāna
the males
مِنَ
mina
among
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
the worlds
Do you approach males among the worlds1

26:166
Ayah 26:166
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
وَتَذَرُونَ
watadharūna
And you leave
مَا
what
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
لَكُمْ
lakum
for you
رَبُّكُم
rabbukum
your Lord
مِّنْ
min
of
أَزْوَٰجِكُم
azwājikum
your mates
بَلْ
bal
Nay
أَنتُمْ
antum
you
قَوْمٌ
qawmun
(are) a people
عَادُونَ
ʿādūna
transgressing
And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing."

26:167
Ayah 26:167
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
لَئِن
la-in
If
لَّمْ
lam
not
تَنتَهِ
tantahi
you desist
يَـٰلُوطُ
yālūṭu
O Lut
لَتَكُونَنَّ
latakūnanna
Surely, you will be
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
l-mukh'rajīna
the ones driven out
They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted."

26:168
Ayah 26:168
قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed, I am
لِعَمَلِكُم
liʿamalikum
(of) your deed
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلْقَالِينَ
l-qālīna
those who detest
He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it].

26:169
Ayah 26:169
رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
رَبِّ
rabbi
My Lord
نَجِّنِى
najjinī
Save me
وَأَهْلِى
wa-ahlī
and my family
مِمَّا
mimmā
from what
يَعْمَلُونَ
yaʿmalūna
they do
My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do."

26:170
Ayah 26:170
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ
fanajjaynāhu
So We saved him
وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ
wa-ahlahu
and his family
أَجْمَعِينَ
ajmaʿīna
all
So We saved him and his family, all,

26:171
Ayah 26:171
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
إِلَّا
illā
Except
عَجُوزًا
ʿajūzan
an old woman
فِى
(was) among
ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
l-ghābirīna
those who remained behind
Except an old woman1 among those who remained behind.

26:172
Ayah 26:172
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
دَمَّرْنَا
dammarnā
We destroyed
ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
l-ākharīna
the others
Then We destroyed the others.

26:173
Ayah 26:173
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
وَأَمْطَرْنَا
wa-amṭarnā
And We rained
عَلَيْهِم
ʿalayhim
upon them
مَّطَرًا
maṭaran
a rain
فَسَآءَ
fasāa
and evil was
مَطَرُ
maṭaru
(was) the rain
ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
l-mundharīna
(on) those who were warned
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.

26:174
Ayah 26:174
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةً
laāyatan
surely is a sign
وَمَا
wamā
but not
كَانَ
kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم
aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīna
believers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.

Ayah 26:175
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

And indeed

your Lord
لَهُوَ
lahuwa
surely, He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu

26:176
Ayah 26:176
كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
كَذَّبَ
kadhaba
Denied
أَصْحَـٰبُ
aṣḥābu
(the) companions
لْـَٔيْكَةِ
al'aykati
(of the) Wood
ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
l-mur'salīna
the Messengers
The companions of the thicket [i.e., the people of Madyan] denied the messengers

26:177
Ayah 26:177
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
إِذْ
idh
When
قَالَ
qāla
said
لَهُمْ
lahum
to them
شُعَيْبٌ
shuʿaybun
Shuaib
أَلَا
alā
Will not
تَتَّقُونَ
tattaqūna
you fear (Allah)
When Shuʿayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allāh?

26:178
Ayah 26:178
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed, I am
لَكُمْ
lakum
to you
رَسُولٌ
rasūlun
a Messenger
أَمِينٌ
amīnun
trustworthy
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.

26:179
Ayah 26:179
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
فَٱتَّقُوا۟
fa-ittaqū
So fear
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
وَأَطِيعُونِ
wa-aṭīʿūni
and obey me
So fear Allāh and obey me.

26:180
Ayah 26:180
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ
asalukum
I ask (of) you
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
for it
مِنْ
min
any
أَجْرٍ
ajrin
payment
إِنْ
in
Not
أَجْرِىَ
ajriya
(is) my payment
إِلَّا
illā
except
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
from
رَبِّ
rabbi
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.

26:181
Ayah 26:181
۞ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ
أَوْفُوا۟
awfū
Give full
ٱلْكَيْلَ
l-kayla
measure
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَكُونُوا۟
takūnū
be
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ
l-mukh'sirīna
those who cause loss
Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss.

26:182
Ayah 26:182
وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ
وَزِنُوا۟
wazinū
And weigh
بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ
bil-qis'ṭāsi
with a balance
ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ
l-mus'taqīmi
[the] even
And weigh with an even [i.e., honest] balance.

26:183
Ayah 26:183
وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تَبْخَسُوا۟
tabkhasū
deprive
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsa
people
أَشْيَآءَهُمْ
ashyāahum
(of) their things
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَعْثَوْا۟
taʿthaw
commit evil
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
مُفْسِدِينَ
muf'sidīna
spreading corruption
And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption.

26:184
Ayah 26:184
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
وَٱتَّقُوا۟
wa-ittaqū
And fear
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
the One Who
خَلَقَكُمْ
khalaqakum
created you
وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ
wal-jibilata
and the generations
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
l-awalīna
the former
And fear He who created you and the former creation."1

26:185
Ayah 26:185
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
They said
إِنَّمَآ
innamā
Only
أَنتَ
anta
you
مِنَ
mina
(are) of
ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
l-musaḥarīna
those bewitched
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic.

26:186
Ayah 26:186
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَنتَ
anta
you
إِلَّا
illā
(are) except
بَشَرٌ
basharun
a man
مِّثْلُنَا
mith'lunā
like us
وَإِن
wa-in
and indeed
نَّظُنُّكَ
naẓunnuka
we think you
لَمِنَ
lamina
surely (are) of
ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
l-kādhibīna
the liars
You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars.

26:187
Ayah 26:187
فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
فَأَسْقِطْ
fa-asqiṭ
Then cause to fall
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynā
upon us
كِسَفًا
kisafan
fragments
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the sky
إِن
in
if
كُنتَ
kunta
you are
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
l-ṣādiqīna
the truthful
So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful."

26:188
Ayah 26:188
قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
رَبِّىٓ
rabbī
My Lord
أَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu
knows best
بِمَا
bimā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūna
you do
He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do."

26:189
Ayah 26:189
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
فَكَذَّبُوهُ
fakadhabūhu
But they denied him
فَأَخَذَهُمْ
fa-akhadhahum
so seized them
عَذَابُ
ʿadhābu
(the) punishment
يَوْمِ
yawmi
(of the) day
ٱلظُّلَّةِ
l-ẓulati
(of) the shadow
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, it
كَانَ
kāna
was
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba
(the) punishment
يَوْمٍ
yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٍ
ʿaẓīmin
Great
And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day.

26:190
Ayah 26:190
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةً
laāyatan
surely, is a sign
وَمَا
wamā
but not
كَانَ
kāna
are
أَكْثَرُهُم
aktharuhum
most of them
مُّؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīna
believers
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.

26:191
Ayah 26:191
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
لَهُوَ
lahuwa
surely, He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

26:192
Ayah 26:192
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَإِنَّهُۥ
wa-innahu
And indeed, it
لَتَنزِيلُ
latanzīlu
surely, is a Revelation
رَبِّ
rabbi
(of the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
And indeed, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds.

26:193
Ayah 26:193
نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ
نَزَلَ
nazala
Has brought it down
بِهِ
bihi
Has brought it down
ٱلرُّوحُ
l-rūḥu
the Spirit
ٱلْأَمِينُ
l-amīnu
[the] Trustworthy
The Trustworthy Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] has brought it down

26:194
Ayah 26:194
عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
Upon
قَلْبِكَ
qalbika
your heart
لِتَكُونَ
litakūna
that you may be
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
l-mundhirīna
the warners
Upon your heart, [O Muḥammad] - that you may be of the warners -

26:195
Ayah 26:195
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ
بِلِسَانٍ
bilisānin
In language
عَرَبِىٍّ
ʿarabiyyin
Arabic
مُّبِينٍ
mubīnin
clear
In a clear Arabic language.

26:196
Ayah 26:196
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
وَإِنَّهُۥ
wa-innahu
And indeed, it
لَفِى
lafī
surely, (is) in
زُبُرِ
zuburi
(the) Scriptures
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
l-awalīna
(of) the former (people)
And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples.

26:197
Ayah 26:197
أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
أَوَلَمْ
awalam
Is it not
يَكُن
yakun
Is it not
لَّهُمْ
lahum
to them
ءَايَةً
āyatan
a sign
أَن
an
that
يَعْلَمَهُۥ
yaʿlamahu
know it
عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟
ʿulamāu
(the) scholars
بَنِىٓ
banī
(of the) Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla
(of) Israel
And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel?

26:198
Ayah 26:198
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ
وَلَوْ
walaw
And if
نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ
nazzalnāhu
We (had) revealed it
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
to
بَعْضِ
baʿḍi
any
ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ
l-aʿjamīna
(of) the non-Arabs
And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners1

26:199
Ayah 26:199
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ
فَقَرَأَهُۥ
faqara-ahu
And he (had) recited it
عَلَيْهِم
ʿalayhim
to them
مَّا
not
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they would
بِهِۦ
bihi
in it
مُؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīna
(be) believers
And he had recited it to them [perfectly],1 they would [still] not have been believers in it.

26:200
Ayah 26:200
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālika
Thus
سَلَكْنَـٰهُ
salaknāhu
We have inserted it
فِى
into
قُلُوبِ
qulūbi
(the) hearts
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
l-muj'rimīna
(of) the criminals
Thus have We inserted it [i.e., disbelief] into the hearts of the criminals.

26:201
Ayah 26:201
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
لَا
Not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūna
they will believe
بِهِۦ
bihi
in it
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattā
until
يَرَوُا۟
yarawū
they see
ٱلْعَذَابَ
l-ʿadhāba
the punishment
ٱلْأَلِيمَ
l-alīma
[the] painful
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment.

26:202
Ayah 26:202
فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
فَيَأْتِيَهُم
fayatiyahum
And it will come to them
بَغْتَةً
baghtatan
suddenly
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
لَا
(do) not
يَشْعُرُونَ
yashʿurūna
perceive
And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not.

26:203
Ayah 26:203
فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
فَيَقُولُوا۟
fayaqūlū
Then they will say
هَلْ
hal
Are
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
we
مُنظَرُونَ
munẓarūna
(to be) reprieved
And they will say, "May we be reprieved?"

26:204
Ayah 26:204
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا
afabiʿadhābinā
So is it for Our punishment
يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
yastaʿjilūna
they wish to hasten
So for Our punishment are they impatient?

26:205
Ayah 26:205
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ
أَفَرَءَيْتَ
afara-ayta
Then have you seen
إِن
in
if
مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ
mattaʿnāhum
We let them enjoy
سِنِينَ
sinīna
(for) years
Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years

26:206
Ayah 26:206
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
جَآءَهُم
jāahum
comes to them
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they were
يُوعَدُونَ
yūʿadūna
promised
And then there came to them that which they were promised?

26:207
Ayah 26:207
مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ
مَآ
Not
أَغْنَىٰ
aghnā
(will) avail
عَنْهُم
ʿanhum
them
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
enjoyment they were given
يُمَتَّعُونَ
yumattaʿūna
enjoyment they were given
They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided.

26:208
Ayah 26:208
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَهْلَكْنَا
ahlaknā
We destroyed
مِن
min
any
قَرْيَةٍ
qaryatin
town
إِلَّا
illā
but
لَهَا
lahā
it had
مُنذِرُونَ
mundhirūna
warners
And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners

26:209
Ayah 26:209
ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
ذِكْرَىٰ
dhik'rā
(To) remind
وَمَا
wamā
and not
كُنَّا
kunnā
We are
ظَـٰلِمِينَ
ẓālimīna
unjust
As a reminder; and never have We been unjust.

26:210
Ayah 26:210
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
تَنَزَّلَتْ
tanazzalat
have brought it down
بِهِ
bihi
have brought it down
ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
l-shayāṭīnu
the devils
And the devils have not brought it [i.e., the revelation] down.1

26:211
Ayah 26:211
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
يَنۢبَغِى
yanbaghī
(it) suits
لَهُمْ
lahum
[for] them
وَمَا
wamā
and not
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
yastaṭīʿūna
they are able
It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able.

26:212
Ayah 26:212
إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ
إِنَّهُمْ
innahum
Indeed, they
عَنِ
ʿani
from
ٱلسَّمْعِ
l-samʿi
the hearing
لَمَعْزُولُونَ
lamaʿzūlūna
(are) surely banished
Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed.1

26:213
Ayah 26:213
فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ
فَلَا
falā
So (do) not
تَدْعُ
tadʿu
invoke
مَعَ
maʿa
with
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
إِلَـٰهًا
ilāhan
god
ءَاخَرَ
ākhara
another
فَتَكُونَ
fatakūna
lest you be
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ
l-muʿadhabīna
those punished
So do not invoke1 with Allāh another deity and [thus] be among the punished.

26:214
Ayah 26:214
وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ
وَأَنذِرْ
wa-andhir
And warn
عَشِيرَتَكَ
ʿashīrataka
your kindred
ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ
l-aqrabīna
[the] closest
And warn, [O Muḥammad], your closest kindred.

26:215
Ayah 26:215
وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
وَٱخْفِضْ
wa-ikh'fiḍ
And lower
جَنَاحَكَ
janāḥaka
your wing
لِمَنِ
limani
to (those) who
ٱتَّبَعَكَ
ittabaʿaka
follow you
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīna
the believers
And lower your wing [i.e., show kindness] to those who follow you of the believers.

26:216
Ayah 26:216
فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
فَإِنْ
fa-in
Then if
عَصَوْكَ
ʿaṣawka
they disobey you
فَقُلْ
faqul
then say
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed, I am
بَرِىٓءٌ
barīon
innocent
مِّمَّا
mimmā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūna
you do
And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing."

26:217
Ayah 26:217
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَتَوَكَّلْ
watawakkal
And put (your) trust
عَلَى
ʿalā
in
ٱلْعَزِيزِ
l-ʿazīzi
the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمِ
l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,

26:218
Ayah 26:218
ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
The One Who
يَرَىٰكَ
yarāka
sees you
حِينَ
ḥīna
when
تَقُومُ
taqūmu
you stand up
Who sees you when you arise1

26:219
Ayah 26:219
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ
wataqallubaka
And your movements
فِى
among
ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
l-sājidīna
those who prostrate
And your movement among those who prostrate.1

26:220
Ayah 26:220
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
هُوَ
huwa
[He]
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
l-samīʿu
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
l-ʿalīmu
the All-Knower
Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

26:221
Ayah 26:221
هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
هَلْ
hal
Shall
أُنَبِّئُكُمْ
unabbi-ukum
I inform you
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
upon
مَن
man
whom

tanazzalu
descend
ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
l-shayāṭīnu
the devils
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?

Ayah 26:222
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ
تَنَزَّلُ
tanazzalu
They descend
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
upon
كُلِّ
kulli
every
أَفَّاكٍ
affākin
liar
أَثِيمٍ
athīmin
sinful
They descend upon every sinful liar.

26:223
Ayah 26:223
يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ
يُلْقُونَ
yul'qūna
They pass on
ٱلسَّمْعَ
l-samʿa
(what is) heard
وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ
wa-aktharuhum
and most of them
كَـٰذِبُونَ
kādhibūna
(are) liars
They pass on what is heard,1 and most of them are liars.

26:224
Ayah 26:224
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ
wal-shuʿarāu
And the poets
يَتَّبِعُهُمُ
yattabiʿuhumu
follow them
ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
l-ghāwūna
the deviators
And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them;

Ayah 26:225
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ
أَلَمْ
alam
Do not
تَرَ
tara
you see
أَنَّهُمْ
annahum
that they
فِى
in
كُلِّ
kulli
every
وَادٍ
wādin
valley
يَهِيمُونَ
yahīmūna
[they] roam
Do you not see that in every valley they roam1

26:226
Ayah 26:226
وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ
وَأَنَّهُمْ
wa-annahum
And that they
يَقُولُونَ
yaqūlūna
say
مَا
what
لَا
not
يَفْعَلُونَ
yafʿalūna
they do
And that they say what they do not do? -

26:227
Ayah 26:227
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ
إِلَّا
illā
Except
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilū
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds
وَذَكَرُوا۟
wadhakarū
and remember
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
كَثِيرًا
kathīran
much
وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟
wa-intaṣarū
and defend themselves
مِنۢ
min
after
بَعْدِ
baʿdi
after
مَا
after
ظُلِمُوا۟
ẓulimū
they were wronged
وَسَيَعْلَمُ
wasayaʿlamu
And will come to know
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ظَلَمُوٓا۟
ẓalamū
have wronged
أَىَّ
ayya
(to) what
مُنقَلَبٍ
munqalabin
return
يَنقَلِبُونَ
yanqalibūna
they will return
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allāh often and defend [the Muslims]1 after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.
