27:1
Ayah 27:1
طسٓ ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْقُرْءَانِ وَكِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ
طسٓ
tta-seen
Ta Seen
تِلْكَ
til'ka
These
ءَايَـٰتُ
āyātu
(are the) Verses
ٱلْقُرْءَانِ
l-qur'āni
(of) the Quran
وَكِتَابٍ
wakitābin
and a Book
مُّبِينٍ
mubīnin
clear
Ṭā, Seen.1 These are the verses of the Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] and a clear Book

27:2
Ayah 27:2
هُدًى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
هُدًى
hudan
A guidance
وَبُشْرَىٰ
wabush'rā
and glad tidings
لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
lil'mu'minīna
for the believers
As guidance and good tidings for the believers

27:3
Ayah 27:3
ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُم بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
Those who
يُقِيمُونَ
yuqīmūna
establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
l-ṣalata
the prayer
وَيُؤْتُونَ
wayu'tūna
and give
ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ
l-zakata
zakah
وَهُم
wahum
and they
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
bil-ākhirati
in the Hereafter
هُمْ
hum
[they]
يُوقِنُونَ
yūqinūna
believe with certainty
Who establish prayer and give zakāh, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].

27:4
Ayah 27:4
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ زَيَّنَّا لَهُمْ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ فَهُمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
لَا
(do) not
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūna
believe
بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
bil-ākhirati
in the Hereafter
زَيَّنَّا
zayyannā
We have made fair-seeming
لَهُمْ
lahum
to them
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ
aʿmālahum
their deeds
فَهُمْ
fahum
so they
يَعْمَهُونَ
yaʿmahūna
wander blindly
Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.

27:5
Ayah 27:5
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَهُمْ سُوٓءُ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(are) the ones
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
سُوٓءُ
sūu
(is) an evil
ٱلْعَذَابِ
l-ʿadhābi
[the] punishment
وَهُمْ
wahum
and they
فِى
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhirati
the Hereafter
هُمُ
humu
[they]
ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ
l-akhsarūna
(will be) the greatest losers
Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.

27:6
Ayah 27:6
وَإِنَّكَ لَتُلَقَّى ٱلْقُرْءَانَ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ عَلِيمٍ
وَإِنَّكَ
wa-innaka
And indeed, you
لَتُلَقَّى
latulaqqā
surely, receive
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
l-qur'āna
the Quran
مِن
min
from [near]
لَّدُنْ
ladun
from [near]
حَكِيمٍ
ḥakīmin
the All-Wise
عَلِيمٍ
ʿalīmin
the All-Knower
And indeed, [O Muḥammad], you receive the Qur’ān from one Wise and Knowing.

27:7
Ayah 27:7
إِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَهْلِهِۦٓ إِنِّىٓ ءَانَسْتُ نَارًا سَـَٔاتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوْ ءَاتِيكُم بِشِهَابٍ قَبَسٍ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُونَ
إِذْ
idh
When
قَالَ
qāla
said
مُوسَىٰ
mūsā
Musa
لِأَهْلِهِۦٓ
li-ahlihi
to his family
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed, I
ءَانَسْتُ
ānastu
perceive
نَارًا
nāran
a fire
سَـَٔاتِيكُم
saātīkum
I will bring you
مِّنْهَا
min'hā
from it
بِخَبَرٍ
bikhabarin
some information
أَوْ
aw
or
ءَاتِيكُم
ātīkum
I will bring you
بِشِهَابٍ
bishihābin
a torch
قَبَسٍ
qabasin
burning
لَّعَلَّكُمْ
laʿallakum
so that you may
تَصْطَلُونَ
taṣṭalūna
warm yourselves
[Mention] when Moses said to his family, "Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves."

27:8
Ayah 27:8
فَلَمَّا جَآءَهَا نُودِىَ أَنۢ بُورِكَ مَن فِى ٱلنَّارِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَسُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
But when
جَآءَهَا
jāahā
he came to it
نُودِىَ
nūdiya
he was called
أَنۢ
an
[that]
بُورِكَ
būrika
Blessed is
مَن
man
who
فِى
(is) at
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nāri
the fire
وَمَنْ
waman
and whoever
حَوْلَهَا
ḥawlahā
(is) around it
وَسُبْحَـٰنَ
wasub'ḥāna
And glory be
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(to) Allah
رَبِّ
rabbi
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
But when he came to it, he was called, "Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

27:9
Ayah 27:9
يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ
yāmūsā
O Musa
إِنَّهُۥٓ
innahu
Indeed
أَنَا
anā
I Am
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise
O Moses, indeed it is I - Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

27:10
Ayah 27:10
وَأَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَآنٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ ۚ يَـٰمُوسَىٰ لَا تَخَفْ إِنِّى لَا يَخَافُ لَدَىَّ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
وَأَلْقِ
wa-alqi
And, "Throw
عَصَاكَ
ʿaṣāka
your staff
فَلَمَّا
falammā
But when
رَءَاهَا
raāhā
he saw it
تَهْتَزُّ
tahtazzu
moving
كَأَنَّهَا
ka-annahā
as if it
جَآنٌّ
jānnun
(were) a snake
وَلَّىٰ
wallā
he turned back
مُدْبِرًا
mud'biran
(in) flight
وَلَمْ
walam
and (did) not
يُعَقِّبْ
yuʿaqqib
look back
يَـٰمُوسَىٰ
yāmūsā
O Musa
لَا
(Do) not
تَخَفْ
takhaf
fear
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed, [I]
لَا
(do) not
يَخَافُ
yakhāfu
fear
لَدَىَّ
ladayya
(in) My presence
ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
l-mur'salūna
the Messengers
And [he was told], "Throw down your staff." But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return.1 [Allāh said], "O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.

27:11
Ayah 27:11
إِلَّا مَن ظَلَمَ ثُمَّ بَدَّلَ حُسْنًۢا بَعْدَ سُوٓءٍ فَإِنِّى غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
إِلَّا
illā
Except
مَن
man
who
ظَلَمَ
ẓalama
wrongs
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
بَدَّلَ
baddala
substitutes
حُسْنًۢا
ḥus'nan
good
بَعْدَ
baʿda
after
سُوٓءٍ
sūin
evil
فَإِنِّى
fa-innī
then indeed, I Am
غَفُورٌ
ghafūrun
Oft-Forgiving
رَّحِيمٌ
raḥīmun
Most Merciful
Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful.

27:12
Ayah 27:12
وَأَدْخِلْ يَدَكَ فِى جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَآءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوٓءٍ ۖ فِى تِسْعِ ءَايَـٰتٍ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا فَـٰسِقِينَ
وَأَدْخِلْ
wa-adkhil
And enter
يَدَكَ
yadaka
your hand
فِى
into
جَيْبِكَ
jaybika
your bosom
تَخْرُجْ
takhruj
it will come forth
بَيْضَآءَ
bayḍāa
white
مِنْ
min
without
غَيْرِ
ghayri
without
سُوٓءٍ
sūin
harm
فِى
(These are) among
تِسْعِ
tis'ʿi
nine
ءَايَـٰتٍ
āyātin
signs
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna
Firaun
وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ
waqawmihi
and his people
إِنَّهُمْ
innahum
Indeed, they
كَانُوا۟
kānū
are
قَوْمًا
qawman
a people
فَـٰسِقِينَ
fāsiqīna
defiantly disobedient
And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient."

27:13
Ayah 27:13
فَلَمَّا جَآءَتْهُمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا مُبْصِرَةً قَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
But when
جَآءَتْهُمْ
jāathum
came to them
ءَايَـٰتُنَا
āyātunā
Our Signs
مُبْصِرَةً
mub'ṣiratan
visible
قَالُوا۟
qālū
they said
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
This
سِحْرٌ
siḥ'run
(is) a magic
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnun
manifest
But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, "This is obvious magic."

27:14
Ayah 27:14
وَجَحَدُوا۟ بِهَا وَٱسْتَيْقَنَتْهَآ أَنفُسُهُمْ ظُلْمًا وَعُلُوًّا ۚ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
وَجَحَدُوا۟
wajaḥadū
And they rejected
بِهَا
bihā
them
وَٱسْتَيْقَنَتْهَآ
wa-is'tayqanathā
though were convinced with them (signs)
أَنفُسُهُمْ
anfusuhum
themselves
ظُلْمًا
ẓul'man
(out of) injustice
وَعُلُوًّا
waʿuluwwan
and haughtiness
فَٱنظُرْ
fa-unẓur
So see
كَيْفَ
kayfa
how
كَانَ
kāna
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu
(the) end
ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
l-muf'sidīna
(of) the corrupters
And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters.

27:15
Ayah 27:15
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا دَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَـٰنَ عِلْمًا ۖ وَقَالَا ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى فَضَّلَنَا عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍ مِّنْ عِبَادِهِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And verily
ءَاتَيْنَا
ātaynā
We gave
دَاوُۥدَ
dāwūda
Dawood
وَسُلَيْمَـٰنَ
wasulaymāna
and Sulaiman
عِلْمًا
ʿil'man
knowledge
وَقَالَا
waqālā
and they said
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamdu
Praise be
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
to Allah
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
the One Who
فَضَّلَنَا
faḍḍalanā
has favored us
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
over
كَثِيرٍ
kathīrin
many
مِّنْ
min
of
عِبَادِهِ
ʿibādihi
His servants
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīna
the believers
And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise [is due] to Allāh, who has favored us over many of His believing servants."

27:16
Ayah 27:16
وَوَرِثَ سُلَيْمَـٰنُ دَاوُۥدَ ۖ وَقَالَ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ عُلِّمْنَا مَنطِقَ ٱلطَّيْرِ وَأُوتِينَا مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَضْلُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
وَوَرِثَ
wawaritha
And inherited
سُلَيْمَـٰنُ
sulaymānu
Sulaiman
دَاوُۥدَ
dāwūda
Dawood
وَقَالَ
waqāla
And he said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsu
people
عُلِّمْنَا
ʿullim'nā
We have been taught
مَنطِقَ
manṭiqa
(the) language
ٱلطَّيْرِ
l-ṭayri
(of) the birds
وَأُوتِينَا
waūtīnā
and we have been given
مِن
min
from
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
this
لَهُوَ
lahuwa
surely, it
ٱلْفَضْلُ
l-faḍlu
(is) the favor
ٱلْمُبِينُ
l-mubīnu
evident
And Solomon inherited David. He said, "O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given from all things. Indeed, this is evident bounty."

27:17
Ayah 27:17
وَحُشِرَ لِسُلَيْمَـٰنَ جُنُودُهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ وَٱلطَّيْرِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ
وَحُشِرَ
waḥushira
And were gathered
لِسُلَيْمَـٰنَ
lisulaymāna
for Sulaiman
جُنُودُهُۥ
junūduhu
his hosts
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْجِنِّ
l-jini
jinn
وَٱلْإِنسِ
wal-insi
and the men
وَٱلطَّيْرِ
wal-ṭayri
and the birds
فَهُمْ
fahum
and they
يُوزَعُونَ
yūzaʿūna
(were) set in rows
And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the jinn and men and birds, and they were [marching] in rows

27:18
Ayah 27:18
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَتَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ وَادِ ٱلنَّمْلِ قَالَتْ نَمْلَةٌ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّمْلُ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ مَسَـٰكِنَكُمْ لَا يَحْطِمَنَّكُمْ سُلَيْمَـٰنُ وَجُنُودُهُۥ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattā
Until
إِذَآ
idhā
when
أَتَوْا۟
ataw
they came
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
to
وَادِ
wādi
(the) valley
ٱلنَّمْلِ
l-namli
(of) the ants
قَالَتْ
qālat
said
نَمْلَةٌ
namlatun
an ant
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O
ٱلنَّمْلُ
l-namlu
ants
ٱدْخُلُوا۟
ud'khulū
Enter
مَسَـٰكِنَكُمْ
masākinakum
your dwellings
لَا
lest not crush you
يَحْطِمَنَّكُمْ
yaḥṭimannakum
lest not crush you
سُلَيْمَـٰنُ
sulaymānu
Sulaiman
وَجُنُودُهُۥ
wajunūduhu
and his hosts
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
لَا
(do) not perceive
يَشْعُرُونَ
yashʿurūna
(do) not perceive
Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, "O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not."

27:19
Ayah 27:19
فَتَبَسَّمَ ضَاحِكًا مِّن قَوْلِهَا وَقَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَـٰلِحًا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِى بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِى عِبَادِكَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
فَتَبَسَّمَ
fatabassama
So he smiled
ضَاحِكًا
ḍāḥikan
laughing
مِّن
min
at
قَوْلِهَا
qawlihā
her speech
وَقَالَ
waqāla
and said
رَبِّ
rabbi
My Lord
أَوْزِعْنِىٓ
awziʿ'nī
Grant me (the) power
أَنْ
an
that
أَشْكُرَ
ashkura
I may thank You
نِعْمَتَكَ
niʿ'mataka
(for) Your Favor
ٱلَّتِىٓ
allatī
which
أَنْعَمْتَ
anʿamta
You have bestowed
عَلَىَّ
ʿalayya
on me
وَعَلَىٰ
waʿalā
and on
وَٰلِدَىَّ
wālidayya
my parents
وَأَنْ
wa-an
and that
أَعْمَلَ
aʿmala
I may do
صَـٰلِحًا
ṣāliḥan
righteous (deeds)
تَرْضَىٰهُ
tarḍāhu
that will please You
وَأَدْخِلْنِى
wa-adkhil'nī
And admit me
بِرَحْمَتِكَ
biraḥmatika
by Your Mercy
فِى
among
عِبَادِكَ
ʿibādika
Your slaves
ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
l-ṣāliḥīna
righteous
So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me1 to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."2

27:20
Ayah 27:20
وَتَفَقَّدَ ٱلطَّيْرَ فَقَالَ مَا لِىَ لَآ أَرَى ٱلْهُدْهُدَ أَمْ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْغَآئِبِينَ
وَتَفَقَّدَ
watafaqqada
And he inspected
ٱلطَّيْرَ
l-ṭayra
the birds
فَقَالَ
faqāla
and said
مَا
Why
لِىَ
liya
Why
لَآ
not
أَرَى
arā
I see
ٱلْهُدْهُدَ
l-hud'huda
the hoopoe
أَمْ
am
or
كَانَ
kāna
is he
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلْغَآئِبِينَ
l-ghāibīna
the absent
And he took attendance of the birds and said, "Why do I not see the hoopoe - or is he among the absent?

27:21
Ayah 27:21
لَأُعَذِّبَنَّهُۥ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا أَوْ لَأَا۟ذْبَحَنَّهُۥٓ أَوْ لَيَأْتِيَنِّى بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
لَأُعَذِّبَنَّهُۥ
la-uʿadhibannahu
I will surely punish him
عَذَابًا
ʿadhāban
(with) a punishment
شَدِيدًا
shadīdan
severe
أَوْ
aw
or
لَأَا۟ذْبَحَنَّهُۥٓ
laādh'baḥannahu
I will surely slaughter him
أَوْ
aw
unless
لَيَأْتِيَنِّى
layatiyannī
he brings me
بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ
bisul'ṭānin
a reason
مُّبِينٍ
mubīnin
clear
I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization."1

27:22
Ayah 27:22
فَمَكَثَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ فَقَالَ أَحَطتُ بِمَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِۦ وَجِئْتُكَ مِن سَبَإٍۭ بِنَبَإٍ يَقِينٍ
فَمَكَثَ
famakatha
So he stayed
غَيْرَ
ghayra
not
بَعِيدٍ
baʿīdin
long
فَقَالَ
faqāla
and he said
أَحَطتُ
aḥaṭtu
I have encompassed
بِمَا
bimā
that which
لَمْ
lam
not
تُحِطْ
tuḥiṭ
you have encompassed
بِهِۦ
bihi
it
وَجِئْتُكَ
waji'tuka
and I have come to you
مِن
min
from
سَبَإٍۭ
saba-in
Saba
بِنَبَإٍ
binaba-in
with news
يَقِينٍ
yaqīnin
certain
But he [i.e., the hoopoe] stayed not long and said, "I have encompassed [in knowledge] that which you have not encompassed, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news.

27:23
Ayah 27:23
إِنِّى وَجَدتُّ ٱمْرَأَةً تَمْلِكُهُمْ وَأُوتِيَتْ مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ وَلَهَا عَرْشٌ عَظِيمٌ

innī
Indeed, I
وَجَدتُّ
wajadttu
found
ٱمْرَأَةً
im'ra-atan
a woman
تَمْلِكُهُمْ
tamlikuhum
ruling them
وَأُوتِيَتْ
waūtiyat
and she has been given
مِن
min
of
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
وَلَهَا
walahā
and for her
عَرْشٌ
ʿarshun
(is) a throne
عَظِيمٌ
ʿaẓīmun
great
Indeed, I found [there] a woman ruling them, and she has been given of all things, and she has a great throne.

27:24
Ayah 27:24
وَجَدتُّهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ فَهُمْ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ
وَجَدتُّهَا
wajadttuhā
And I found her
وَقَوْمَهَا
waqawmahā
and her people
يَسْجُدُونَ
yasjudūna
prostrating
لِلشَّمْسِ
lilshamsi
to the sun
مِن
min
instead of Allah
دُونِ
dūni
instead of Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
instead of Allah
وَزَيَّنَ
wazayyana
and has made fair-seeming
لَهُمُ
lahumu
to them
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ
l-shayṭānu
the Shaitaan
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ
aʿmālahum
their deeds
فَصَدَّهُمْ
faṣaddahum
and averted them
عَنِ
ʿani
from
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
l-sabīli
the Way
فَهُمْ
fahum
so they
لَا
(are) not
يَهْتَدُونَ
yahtadūna
guided
I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allāh, and Satan has made their deeds pleasing to them and averted them from [His] way, so they are not guided,

27:25
Ayah 27:25
أَلَّا يَسْجُدُوا۟ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى يُخْرِجُ ٱلْخَبْءَ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُخْفُونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ
أَلَّا
allā
That not
يَسْجُدُوا۟
yasjudū
they prostrate
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
to Allah
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
the One Who
يُخْرِجُ
yukh'riju
brings forth
ٱلْخَبْءَ
l-khaba-a
the hidden
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
وَيَعْلَمُ
wayaʿlamu
and knows
مَا
what
تُخْفُونَ
tukh'fūna
you conceal
وَمَا
wamā
and what
تُعْلِنُونَ
tuʿ'linūna
you declare
[And] so they do not prostrate to Allāh, who brings forth what is hidden within the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare -

27:26
Ayah 27:26
ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ۩
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
لَآ
(there is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
ilāha
god
إِلَّا
illā
but
هُوَ
huwa
He
رَبُّ
rabbu
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَرْشِ
l-ʿarshi
(of) the Throne
ٱلْعَظِيمِ
l-ʿaẓīmi
the Great
Allāh - there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Great Throne."

27:27
Ayah 27:27
۞ قَالَ سَنَنظُرُ أَصَدَقْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
سَنَنظُرُ
sananẓuru
We will see
أَصَدَقْتَ
aṣadaqta
whether you speak (the) truth
أَمْ
am
or
كُنتَ
kunta
you are
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
l-kādhibīna
the liars
[Solomon] said, "We will see whether you were truthful or were of the liars.

27:28
Ayah 27:28
ٱذْهَب بِّكِتَـٰبِى هَـٰذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ
ٱذْهَب
idh'hab
Go
بِّكِتَـٰبِى
bikitābī
with my letter
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
this
فَأَلْقِهْ
fa-alqih
and deliver it
إِلَيْهِمْ
ilayhim
to them
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
تَوَلَّ
tawalla
turn away
عَنْهُمْ
ʿanhum
from them
فَٱنظُرْ
fa-unẓur
and see
مَاذَا
mādhā
what
يَرْجِعُونَ
yarjiʿūna
they return
Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then leave them and see what [answer] they will return."

27:29
Ayah 27:29
قَالَتْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ إِنِّىٓ أُلْقِىَ إِلَىَّ كِتَـٰبٌ كَرِيمٌ
قَالَتْ
qālat
She said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O
ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟
l-mala-u
chiefs
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed [I]
أُلْقِىَ
ul'qiya
is delivered
إِلَىَّ
ilayya
to me
كِتَـٰبٌ
kitābun
a letter
كَرِيمٌ
karīmun
noble
She said, "O eminent ones, indeed, to me has been delivered a noble letter.

27:30
Ayah 27:30
إِنَّهُۥ مِن سُلَيْمَـٰنَ وَإِنَّهُۥ بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, it
مِن
min
(is) from
سُلَيْمَـٰنَ
sulaymāna
Sulaiman
وَإِنَّهُۥ
wa-innahu
and indeed it (is)
بِسْمِ
bis'mi
In the name
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ
l-raḥmāni
the Most Gracious
ٱلرَّحِيمِ
l-raḥīmi
the Most Merciful
Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it is [i.e., reads]: 'In the name of Allāh, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

27:31
Ayah 27:31
أَلَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَىَّ وَأْتُونِى مُسْلِمِينَ
أَلَّا
allā
That not
تَعْلُوا۟
taʿlū
exalt yourselves
عَلَىَّ
ʿalayya
against me
وَأْتُونِى
watūnī
but come to me
مُسْلِمِينَ
mus'limīna
(in) submission
Be not haughty with me but come to me in submission [as Muslims].'"

27:32
Ayah 27:32
قَالَتْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ أَفْتُونِى فِىٓ أَمْرِى مَا كُنتُ قَاطِعَةً أَمْرًا حَتَّىٰ تَشْهَدُونِ
قَالَتْ
qālat
She said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O
ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟
l-mala-u
chiefs
أَفْتُونِى
aftūnī
Advise me
فِىٓ
in
أَمْرِى
amrī
my affair
مَا
Not
كُنتُ
kuntu
I would be
قَاطِعَةً
qāṭiʿatan
the one to decide
أَمْرًا
amran
any matter
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattā
until
تَشْهَدُونِ
tashhadūni
you are present with me
She said, "O eminent ones, advise me in my affair. I would not decide a matter until you witness [for] me."1

27:33
Ayah 27:33
قَالُوا۟ نَحْنُ أُو۟لُوا۟ قُوَّةٍ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ بَأْسٍ شَدِيدٍ وَٱلْأَمْرُ إِلَيْكِ فَٱنظُرِى مَاذَا تَأْمُرِينَ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
We
أُو۟لُوا۟
ulū
(are) possessors
قُوَّةٍ
quwwatin
(of) strength
وَأُو۟لُوا۟
wa-ulū
and possessors
بَأْسٍ
basin
(of) might
شَدِيدٍ
shadīdin
great
وَٱلْأَمْرُ
wal-amru
and the command
إِلَيْكِ
ilayki
(is) up to you
فَٱنظُرِى
fa-unẓurī
so look
مَاذَا
mādhā
what
تَأْمُرِينَ
tamurīna
you will command
They said, "We are men of strength and of great military might, but the command is yours, so see what you will command."

27:34
Ayah 27:34
قَالَتْ إِنَّ ٱلْمُلُوكَ إِذَا دَخَلُوا۟ قَرْيَةً أَفْسَدُوهَا وَجَعَلُوٓا۟ أَعِزَّةَ أَهْلِهَآ أَذِلَّةً ۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
قَالَتْ
qālat
She said
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلْمُلُوكَ
l-mulūka
the kings
إِذَا
idhā
when
دَخَلُوا۟
dakhalū
they enter
قَرْيَةً
qaryatan
a town
أَفْسَدُوهَا
afsadūhā
they ruin it
وَجَعَلُوٓا۟
wajaʿalū
and make
أَعِزَّةَ
aʿizzata
(the) most honorable
أَهْلِهَآ
ahlihā
(of) its people
أَذِلَّةً
adhillatan
(the) lowest
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wakadhālika
And thus
يَفْعَلُونَ
yafʿalūna
they do
She said, "Indeed kings - when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do.

27:35
Ayah 27:35
وَإِنِّى مُرْسِلَةٌ إِلَيْهِم بِهَدِيَّةٍ فَنَاظِرَةٌۢ بِمَ يَرْجِعُ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
وَإِنِّى
wa-innī
But indeed, I am
مُرْسِلَةٌ
mur'silatun
going to send
إِلَيْهِم
ilayhim
to them
بِهَدِيَّةٍ
bihadiyyatin
a gift
فَنَاظِرَةٌۢ
fanāẓiratun
and see
بِمَ
bima
with what
يَرْجِعُ
yarjiʿu
return
ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
l-mur'salūna
the messengers
But indeed, I will send to them a gift and see with what [reply] the messengers will return."

27:36
Ayah 27:36
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ سُلَيْمَـٰنَ قَالَ أَتُمِدُّونَنِ بِمَالٍ فَمَآ ءَاتَىٰنِۦَ ٱللَّهُ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّآ ءَاتَىٰكُم بَلْ أَنتُم بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
So when
جَآءَ
jāa
came
سُلَيْمَـٰنَ
sulaymāna
(to) Sulaiman
قَالَ
qāla
he said
أَتُمِدُّونَنِ
atumiddūnani
Will you provide me
بِمَالٍ
bimālin
with wealth
فَمَآ
famā
But what
ءَاتَىٰنِۦَ
ātāniya
Allah has given me
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah has given me
خَيْرٌ
khayrun
(is) better
مِّمَّآ
mimmā
than what
ءَاتَىٰكُم
ātākum
He has given you
بَلْ
bal
Nay
أَنتُم
antum
you
بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ
bihadiyyatikum
in your gift
تَفْرَحُونَ
tafraḥūna
rejoice
So when they came to Solomon, he said, "Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allāh has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, it is you who rejoice in your gift.

27:37
Ayah 27:37
ٱرْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمْ فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّهُم بِجُنُودٍ لَّا قِبَلَ لَهُم بِهَا وَلَنُخْرِجَنَّهُم مِّنْهَآ أَذِلَّةً وَهُمْ صَـٰغِرُونَ
ٱرْجِعْ
ir'jiʿ
Return
إِلَيْهِمْ
ilayhim
to them
فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّهُم
falanatiyannahum
surely, we will come to them
بِجُنُودٍ
bijunūdin
with hosts
لَّا
not
قِبَلَ
qibala
(is) resistance
لَهُم
lahum
for them
بِهَا
bihā
of it
وَلَنُخْرِجَنَّهُم
walanukh'rijannahum
and surely, we will drive them out
مِّنْهَآ
min'hā
from there
أَذِلَّةً
adhillatan
(in) humiliation
وَهُمْ
wahum
and they
صَـٰغِرُونَ
ṣāghirūna
(will be) abased
Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter, and we will surely expel them therefrom in humiliation, and they will be debased."

27:38
Ayah 27:38
قَالَ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ أَيُّكُمْ يَأْتِينِى بِعَرْشِهَا قَبْلَ أَن يَأْتُونِى مُسْلِمِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O
ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟
l-mala-u
chiefs
أَيُّكُمْ
ayyukum
Which of you
يَأْتِينِى
yatīnī
will bring me
بِعَرْشِهَا
biʿarshihā
her throne
قَبْلَ
qabla
before
أَن
an
that
يَأْتُونِى
yatūnī
they come to me
مُسْلِمِينَ
mus'limīna
(in) submission
[Solomon] said, "O assembly [of jinn], which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?"

27:39
Ayah 27:39
قَالَ عِفْرِيتٌ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ أَنَا۠ ءَاتِيكَ بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَن تَقُومَ مِن مَّقَامِكَ ۖ وَإِنِّى عَلَيْهِ لَقَوِىٌّ أَمِينٌ
قَالَ

Said
عِفْرِيتٌ
ʿif'rītun
a strong one
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلْجِنِّ
l-jini
the jinn
أَنَا۠
anā
I
ءَاتِيكَ
ātīka
will bring it to you
بِهِۦ
bihi
will bring it to you
قَبْلَ
qabla
before
أَن
an
[that]
تَقُومَ
taqūma
you rise
مِن
min
from
مَّقَامِكَ
maqāmika
your place
وَإِنِّى
wa-innī
And indeed, I am
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
for it
لَقَوِىٌّ
laqawiyyun
surely, strong
أَمِينٌ
amīnun
trustworthy
A powerful one from among the jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy."

27:40
Ayah 27:40
قَالَ ٱلَّذِى عِندَهُۥ عِلْمٌ مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ أَنَا۠ ءَاتِيكَ بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَن يَرْتَدَّ إِلَيْكَ طَرْفُكَ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهُ مُسْتَقِرًّا عِندَهُۥ قَالَ هَـٰذَا مِن فَضْلِ رَبِّى لِيَبْلُوَنِىٓ ءَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُ ۖ وَمَن شَكَرَ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ رَبِّى غَنِىٌّ كَرِيمٌ
قَالَ

Said
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
one who
عِندَهُۥ
ʿindahu
with him
عِلْمٌ
ʿil'mun
(was) knowledge
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābi
the Scripture
أَنَا۠
anā
I
ءَاتِيكَ
ātīka
will bring it to you
بِهِۦ
bihi
will bring it to you
قَبْلَ
qabla
before
أَن
an
[that]
يَرْتَدَّ
yartadda
returns
إِلَيْكَ
ilayka
to you
طَرْفُكَ
ṭarfuka
your glance
فَلَمَّا
falammā
Then when
رَءَاهُ
raāhu
he saw it
مُسْتَقِرًّا
mus'taqirran
placed
عِندَهُۥ
ʿindahu
before him
قَالَ
qāla
he said
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
This
مِن
min
(is) from
فَضْلِ
faḍli
(the) Favor
رَبِّى
rabbī
(of) my Lord
لِيَبْلُوَنِىٓ
liyabluwanī
to test me
ءَأَشْكُرُ
a-ashkuru
whether I am grateful
أَمْ
am
or
أَكْفُرُ
akfuru
I am ungrateful
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
شَكَرَ
shakara
(is) grateful
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamā
then only
يَشْكُرُ
yashkuru
he is grateful
لِنَفْسِهِۦ
linafsihi
for his own soul
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
كَفَرَ
kafara
(is) ungrateful
فَإِنَّ
fa-inna
then indeed
رَبِّى
rabbī
my Lord
غَنِىٌّ
ghaniyyun
(is) Self-sufficient
كَرِيمٌ
karīmun
Noble
Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, "I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you." And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, "This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful - his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful - then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous."

27:41
Ayah 27:41
قَالَ نَكِّرُوا۟ لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِىٓ أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
نَكِّرُوا۟
nakkirū
Disguise
لَهَا
lahā
for her
عَرْشَهَا
ʿarshahā
her throne
نَنظُرْ
nanẓur
we will see
أَتَهْتَدِىٓ
atahtadī
whether she will be guided
أَمْ
am
or
تَكُونُ
takūnu
will be
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
لَا
are not guided
يَهْتَدُونَ
yahtadūna
are not guided
He said, "Disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided."

27:42
Ayah 27:42
فَلَمَّا جَآءَتْ قِيلَ أَهَـٰكَذَا عَرْشُكِ ۖ قَالَتْ كَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ ۚ وَأُوتِينَا ٱلْعِلْمَ مِن قَبْلِهَا وَكُنَّا مُسْلِمِينَ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
So when
جَآءَتْ
jāat
she came
قِيلَ
qīla
it was said
أَهَـٰكَذَا
ahākadhā
Is like this
عَرْشُكِ
ʿarshuki
your throne
قَالَتْ
qālat
She said
كَأَنَّهُۥ
ka-annahu
It is like
هُوَ
huwa
it
وَأُوتِينَا
waūtīnā
And we were given
ٱلْعِلْمَ
l-ʿil'ma
the knowledge
مِن
min
before her
قَبْلِهَا
qablihā
before her
وَكُنَّا
wakunnā
and we have been
مُسْلِمِينَ
mus'limīna
Muslims
So when she arrived, it was said [to her], "Is your throne like this?" She said, "[It is] as though it was it." [Solomon said], "And we were given knowledge before her, and we have been Muslims [in submission to Allāh].

27:43
Ayah 27:43
وَصَدَّهَا مَا كَانَت تَّعْبُدُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ مِن قَوْمٍ كَـٰفِرِينَ
وَصَدَّهَا
waṣaddahā
And has averted her
مَا
what
كَانَت
kānat
she used (to)
تَّعْبُدُ
taʿbudu
worship
مِن
min
besides
دُونِ
dūni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
إِنَّهَا
innahā
Indeed, she
كَانَتْ
kānat
was
مِن
min
from
قَوْمٍ
qawmin
a people
كَـٰفِرِينَ
kāfirīna
who disbelieve
And that which she was worshipping other than Allāh had averted her [from submission to Him]. Indeed, she was from a disbelieving people."

27:44
Ayah 27:44
قِيلَ لَهَا ٱدْخُلِى ٱلصَّرْحَ ۖ فَلَمَّا رَأَتْهُ حَسِبَتْهُ لُجَّةً وَكَشَفَتْ عَن سَاقَيْهَا ۚ قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ صَرْحٌ مُّمَرَّدٌ مِّن قَوَارِيرَ ۗ قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّى ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِى وَأَسْلَمْتُ مَعَ سُلَيْمَـٰنَ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
قِيلَ
qīla
It was said
لَهَا
lahā
to her
ٱدْخُلِى
ud'khulī
Enter
ٱلصَّرْحَ
l-ṣarḥa
the palace
فَلَمَّا
falammā
Then when
رَأَتْهُ
ra-athu
she saw it
حَسِبَتْهُ
ḥasibathu
she thought it
لُجَّةً
lujjatan
(was) a pool
وَكَشَفَتْ
wakashafat
and she uncovered
عَن
ʿan
[on]
سَاقَيْهَا
sāqayhā
her shins
قَالَ
qāla
He said
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, it
صَرْحٌ
ṣarḥun
(is) a palace
مُّمَرَّدٌ
mumarradun
made smooth
مِّن
min
of
قَوَارِيرَ
qawārīra
glass
قَالَتْ
qālat
She said
رَبِّ
rabbi
My Lord
إِنِّى
innī
indeed, I
ظَلَمْتُ
ẓalamtu
[I] have wronged
نَفْسِى
nafsī
myself
وَأَسْلَمْتُ
wa-aslamtu
and I submit
مَعَ
maʿa
with
سُلَيْمَـٰنَ
sulaymāna
Sulaiman
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
to Allah
رَبِّ
rabbi
(the) Lord
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
She was told, "Enter the palace." But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water1 and uncovered her shins [to wade through]. He said, "Indeed, it is a palace [whose floor is] made smooth with glass." She said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allāh, Lord of the worlds."

27:45
Ayah 27:45
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَـٰلِحًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَإِذَا هُمْ فَرِيقَانِ يَخْتَصِمُونَ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And certainly
أَرْسَلْنَآ
arsalnā
We sent
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
ثَمُودَ
thamūda
Thamud
أَخَاهُمْ
akhāhum
their brother
صَـٰلِحًا
ṣāliḥan
Salih
أَنِ
ani
that
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
uʿ'budū
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
فَإِذَا
fa-idhā
Then behold
هُمْ
hum
They
فَرِيقَانِ
farīqāni
(became) two parties
يَخْتَصِمُونَ
yakhtaṣimūna
quarreling
And We had certainly sent to Thamūd their brother Ṣāliḥ, [saying], "Worship Allāh," and at once they were two parties conflicting.

27:46
Ayah 27:46
قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ لِمَ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ ۖ لَوْلَا تَسْتَغْفِرُونَ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
لِمَ
lima
Why
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
tastaʿjilūna
(do) you seek to hasten
بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ
bil-sayi-ati
the evil
قَبْلَ
qabla
before
ٱلْحَسَنَةِ
l-ḥasanati
the good
لَوْلَا
lawlā
Why not
تَسْتَغْفِرُونَ
tastaghfirūna
you ask forgiveness
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
(of) Allah
لَعَلَّكُمْ
laʿallakum
so that you may
تُرْحَمُونَ
tur'ḥamūna
receive mercy
He said, "O my people, why are you impatient for evil before [i.e., instead of] good?1 Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allāh that you may receive mercy?"

27:47
Ayah 27:47
قَالُوا۟ ٱطَّيَّرْنَا بِكَ وَبِمَن مَّعَكَ ۚ قَالَ طَـٰٓئِرُكُمْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تُفْتَنُونَ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
ٱطَّيَّرْنَا
iṭṭayyarnā
We consider you a bad omen
بِكَ
bika
We consider you a bad omen
وَبِمَن
wabiman
and those
مَّعَكَ
maʿaka
with you
قَالَ
qāla
He said
طَـٰٓئِرُكُمْ
ṭāirukum
Your bad omen
عِندَ
ʿinda
(is) with
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
بَلْ
bal
Nay
أَنتُمْ
antum
you
قَوْمٌ
qawmun
(are) a people
تُفْتَنُونَ
tuf'tanūna
being tested
They said, "We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen [i.e., fate] is with Allāh. Rather, you are a people being tested."1

27:48
Ayah 27:48
وَكَانَ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ تِسْعَةُ رَهْطٍ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
وَكَانَ
wakāna
And were
فِى
in
ٱلْمَدِينَةِ
l-madīnati
the city
تِسْعَةُ
tis'ʿatu
nine
رَهْطٍ
rahṭin
family heads
يُفْسِدُونَ
yuf'sidūna
they were spreading corruption
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the land
وَلَا
walā
and not
يُصْلِحُونَ
yuṣ'liḥūna
reforming
And there were in the city nine family heads causing corruption in the land and not amending [its affairs].

27:49
Ayah 27:49
قَالُوا۟ تَقَاسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥ وَأَهْلَهُۥ ثُمَّ لَنَقُولَنَّ لِوَلِيِّهِۦ مَا شَهِدْنَا مَهْلِكَ أَهْلِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
تَقَاسَمُوا۟
taqāsamū
Swear to each other
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
by Allah
لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥ
lanubayyitannahu
surely, we will attack him by night
وَأَهْلَهُۥ
wa-ahlahu
and his family
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
لَنَقُولَنَّ
lanaqūlanna
we will surely say
لِوَلِيِّهِۦ
liwaliyyihi
to his heir
مَا
Not
شَهِدْنَا
shahid'nā
we witnessed
مَهْلِكَ
mahlika
(the) destruction
أَهْلِهِۦ
ahlihi
(of) his family
وَإِنَّا
wa-innā
and indeed, we
لَصَـٰدِقُونَ
laṣādiqūna
(are) surely truthful
They said, "Take a mutual oath by Allāh that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor,1 'We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.'"

27:50
Ayah 27:50
وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا وَمَكَرْنَا مَكْرًا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
وَمَكَرُوا۟
wamakarū
So they plotted
مَكْرًا
makran
a plot
وَمَكَرْنَا
wamakarnā
and We planned
مَكْرًا
makran
a plan
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
لَا
(did) not
يَشْعُرُونَ
yashʿurūna
perceive
And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not.

27:51
Ayah 27:51
فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ مَكْرِهِمْ أَنَّا دَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْ وَقَوْمَهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
فَٱنظُرْ
fa-unẓur
Then see
كَيْفَ
kayfa
how
كَانَ
kāna
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu
(the) end
مَكْرِهِمْ
makrihim
(of) their plot
أَنَّا
annā
that We
دَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْ
dammarnāhum
destroyed them
وَقَوْمَهُمْ
waqawmahum
and their people
أَجْمَعِينَ
ajmaʿīna
all
Then look how was the outcome of their plan - that We destroyed them and their people, all.

27:52
Ayah 27:52
فَتِلْكَ بُيُوتُهُمْ خَاوِيَةًۢ بِمَا ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ
فَتِلْكَ
fatil'ka
So, these
بُيُوتُهُمْ
buyūtuhum
(are) their houses
خَاوِيَةًۢ
khāwiyatan
ruined
بِمَا
bimā
because
ظَلَمُوٓا۟
ẓalamū
they wronged
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةً
laāyatan
surely, is a sign
لِّقَوْمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūna
who know
So those are their houses, desolate because of the wrong they had done. Indeed in that is a sign for people who know.

27:53
Ayah 27:53
وَأَنجَيْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ يَتَّقُونَ
وَأَنجَيْنَا
wa-anjaynā
And We saved
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believed
وَكَانُوا۟
wakānū
and used (to)
يَتَّقُونَ
yattaqūna
fear (Allah)
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allāh.

27:54
Ayah 27:54
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ
وَلُوطًا
walūṭan
And Lut
إِذْ
idh
when
قَالَ
qāla
he said
لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ
liqawmihi
to his people
أَتَأْتُونَ
atatūna
Do you commit
ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ
l-fāḥishata
[the] immorality
وَأَنتُمْ
wa-antum
while you
تُبْصِرُونَ
tub'ṣirūna
see
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Do you commit immorality1 while you are seeing?2

27:55
Ayah 27:55
أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ
أَئِنَّكُمْ
a-innakum
Why do you
لَتَأْتُونَ
latatūna
approach
ٱلرِّجَالَ
l-rijāla
the men
شَهْوَةً
shahwatan
(with) lust
مِّن
min
instead of
دُونِ
dūni
instead of
ٱلنِّسَآءِ
l-nisāi
the women
بَلْ
bal
Nay
أَنتُمْ
antum
you
قَوْمٌ
qawmun
(are) a people
تَجْهَلُونَ
tajhalūna
ignorant
Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly."

27:56
Ayah 27:56
۞ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓا۟ أَخْرِجُوٓا۟ ءَالَ لُوطٍ مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ
فَمَا
famā
But not
كَانَ
kāna
was
جَوَابَ
jawāba
(the) answer
قَوْمِهِۦٓ
qawmihi
(of) his people
إِلَّآ
illā
except
أَن
an
that
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
they said
أَخْرِجُوٓا۟
akhrijū
Drive out
ءَالَ
āla
(the) family
لُوطٍ
lūṭin
(of) Lut
مِّن
min
from
قَرْيَتِكُمْ
qaryatikum
your town
إِنَّهُمْ
innahum
Indeed, they
أُنَاسٌ
unāsun
(are) people
يَتَطَهَّرُونَ
yataṭahharūna
who keep clean and pure
But the answer of his people was not except that they said, "Expel the family of Lot from your city. Indeed, they are people who keep themselves pure."

27:57
Ayah 27:57
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ قَدَّرْنَـٰهَا مِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ
fa-anjaynāhu
So We saved him
وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ
wa-ahlahu
and his family
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ
im'ra-atahu
his wife
قَدَّرْنَـٰهَا
qaddarnāhā
We destined her
مِنَ
mina
(to be) of
ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
l-ghābirīna
those who remained behind
So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; We destined her to be of those who remained behind.

27:58
Ayah 27:58
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
وَأَمْطَرْنَا
wa-amṭarnā
And We rained
عَلَيْهِم
ʿalayhim
upon them
مَّطَرًا
maṭaran
a rain
فَسَآءَ
fasāa
and was evil
مَطَرُ
maṭaru
(the) rain
ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
l-mundharīna
(on) those who were warned
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.

27:59
Ayah 27:59
قُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ ۗ ءَآللَّهُ خَيْرٌ أَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
قُلِ
quli
Say
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamdu
All praise (be)
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
to Allah
وَسَلَـٰمٌ
wasalāmun
and peace (be)
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
upon
عِبَادِهِ
ʿibādihi
His slaves
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those whom
ٱصْطَفَىٰٓ
iṣ'ṭafā
He has chosen
ءَآللَّهُ
āllahu
Is Allah
خَيْرٌ
khayrun
better
أَمَّا
ammā
or what
يُشْرِكُونَ
yush'rikūna
they associate (with Him)
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Praise be to Allāh, and peace upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allāh better or what they associate with Him?"

27:60
Ayah 27:60
أَمَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَأَنزَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَنۢبَتْنَا بِهِۦ حَدَآئِقَ ذَاتَ بَهْجَةٍ مَّا كَانَ لَكُمْ أَن تُنۢبِتُوا۟ شَجَرَهَآ ۗ أَءِلَـٰهٌ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ يَعْدِلُونَ
أَمَّنْ
amman
Or Who
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
has created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
وَأَنزَلَ
wa-anzala
and sent down
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the sky
مَآءً
māan
water
فَأَنۢبَتْنَا
fa-anbatnā
And We caused to grow
بِهِۦ
bihi
thereby
حَدَآئِقَ
ḥadāiqa
gardens
ذَاتَ
dhāta
of beauty (and delight)
بَهْجَةٍ
bahjatin
of beauty (and delight)
مَّا
not
كَانَ
kāna
it is
لَكُمْ
lakum
for you
أَن
an
that
تُنۢبِتُوا۟
tunbitū
you cause to grow
شَجَرَهَآ
shajarahā
their trees
أَءِلَـٰهٌ
a-ilāhun
Is there any god
مَّعَ
maʿa
with
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
بَلْ
bal
Nay
هُمْ
hum
they
قَوْمٌ
qawmun
(are) a people
يَعْدِلُونَ
yaʿdilūna
who ascribe equals
[More precisely], is He [not best] who created the heavens and the earth and sent down for you rain from the sky, causing to grow thereby gardens of joyful beauty which you could not [otherwise] have grown the trees thereof? Is there a deity with Allāh?1 [No], but they are a people who ascribe equals [to Him].

27:61
Ayah 27:61
أَمَّن جَعَلَ ٱلْأَرْضَ قَرَارًا وَجَعَلَ خِلَـٰلَهَآ أَنْهَـٰرًا وَجَعَلَ لَهَا رَوَٰسِىَ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ حَاجِزًا ۗ أَءِلَـٰهٌ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
أَمَّن
amman
Or Who
جَعَلَ
jaʿala
made
ٱلْأَرْضَ
l-arḍa
the earth
قَرَارًا
qarāran
a firm abode
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʿala
and made
خِلَـٰلَهَآ
khilālahā
(in) its midst
أَنْهَـٰرًا
anhāran
rivers
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʿala
and made
لَهَا
lahā
for it
رَوَٰسِىَ
rawāsiya
firm mountains
وَجَعَلَ
wajaʿala
and made
بَيْنَ
bayna
between
ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ
l-baḥrayni
the two seas
حَاجِزًا
ḥājizan
a barrier
أَءِلَـٰهٌ
a-ilāhun
Is there any god
مَّعَ
maʿa
with
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
بَلْ
bal
Nay
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
aktharuhum
most of them
لَا
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūna
know
Is He [not best] who made the earth a stable ground and placed within it rivers and made for it firmly set mountains and placed between the two seas a barrier? Is there a deity with Allāh? [No], but most of them do not know.

27:62
Ayah 27:62
أَمَّن يُجِيبُ ٱلْمُضْطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ خُلَفَآءَ ٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ أَءِلَـٰهٌ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
أَمَّن
amman
Or Who
يُجِيبُ
yujību
responds
ٱلْمُضْطَرَّ
l-muḍ'ṭara
(to) the distressed one
إِذَا
idhā
when
دَعَاهُ
daʿāhu
he calls Him
وَيَكْشِفُ
wayakshifu
and He removes
ٱلسُّوٓءَ
l-sūa
the evil
وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ
wayajʿalukum
and makes you
خُلَفَآءَ
khulafāa
inheritors
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
(of) the earth
أَءِلَـٰهٌ
a-ilāhun
Is there any god
مَّعَ
maʿa
with
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
قَلِيلًا
qalīlan
Little
مَّا
(is) what
تَذَكَّرُونَ
tadhakkarūna
you remember
Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth?1 Is there a deity with Allāh? Little do you remember.

27:63
Ayah 27:63
أَمَّن يَهْدِيكُمْ فِى ظُلُمَـٰتِ ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ وَمَن يُرْسِلُ ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦٓ ۗ أَءِلَـٰهٌ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ تَعَـٰلَى ٱللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
أَمَّن
amman
Or Who
يَهْدِيكُمْ
yahdīkum
guides you
فِى
in
ظُلُمَـٰتِ
ẓulumāti
(the) darkness[es]
ٱلْبَرِّ
l-bari
(of) the land
وَٱلْبَحْرِ
wal-baḥri
and the sea
وَمَن
waman
and Who
يُرْسِلُ
yur'silu
sends
ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ
l-riyāḥa
the winds
بُشْرًۢا
bush'ran
(as) glad tidings
بَيْنَ
bayna
before
يَدَىْ
yaday
before
رَحْمَتِهِۦٓ
raḥmatihi
His Mercy
أَءِلَـٰهٌ
a-ilāhun
Is there any god
مَّعَ
maʿa
with
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
تَعَـٰلَى
taʿālā
High is
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
عَمَّا
ʿammā
above what
يُشْرِكُونَ
yush'rikūna
they associate (with Him)
Is He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea and who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy? Is there a deity with Allāh? High is Allāh above whatever they associate with Him.

27:64
Ayah 27:64
أَمَّن يَبْدَؤُا۟ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥ وَمَن يَرْزُقُكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ أَءِلَـٰهٌ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ ۚ قُلْ هَاتُوا۟ بُرْهَـٰنَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
أَمَّن
amman
Or Who
يَبْدَؤُا۟
yabda-u
originates
ٱلْخَلْقَ
l-khalqa
the creation
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
يُعِيدُهُۥ
yuʿīduhu
repeats it
وَمَن
waman
and Who
يَرْزُقُكُم
yarzuqukum
provides you
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
أَءِلَـٰهٌ
a-ilāhun
Is there any god
مَّعَ
maʿa
with
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
قُلْ
qul
Say
هَاتُوا۟
hātū
Bring forth
بُرْهَـٰنَكُمْ
bur'hānakum
your proof
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīna
truthful
Is He [not best] who begins creation and then repeats it and who provides for you from the heaven and earth? Is there a deity with Allāh? Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."

27:65
Ayah 27:65
قُل لَّا يَعْلَمُ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلْغَيْبَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبْعَثُونَ
قُل
qul
Say
لَّا
No (one)
يَعْلَمُ
yaʿlamu
knows
مَن
man
whoever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
ٱلْغَيْبَ
l-ghayba
(of) the unseen
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
وَمَا
wamā
and not
يَشْعُرُونَ
yashʿurūna
they perceive
أَيَّانَ
ayyāna
when
يُبْعَثُونَ
yub'ʿathūna
they will be resurrected
Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allāh, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected."

27:66
Ayah 27:66
بَلِ ٱدَّٰرَكَ عِلْمُهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ مِّنْهَا ۖ بَلْ هُم مِّنْهَا عَمُونَ
بَلِ
bali
Nay
ٱدَّٰرَكَ
iddāraka
is arrested
عِلْمُهُمْ
ʿil'muhum
their knowledge
فِى
of
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhirati
the Hereafter
بَلْ
bal
Nay
هُمْ
hum
they
فِى
(are) in
شَكٍّ
shakkin
doubt
مِّنْهَا
min'hā
about it
بَلْ
bal
Nay
هُم
hum
they
مِّنْهَا
min'hā
about it
عَمُونَ
ʿamūna
(are) blind
Rather, their knowledge is arrested concerning the Hereafter. Rather, they are in doubt about it. Rather, they are, concerning it, blind.

27:67
Ayah 27:67
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا كُنَّا تُرَٰبًا وَءَابَآؤُنَآ أَئِنَّا لَمُخْرَجُونَ
وَقَالَ
waqāla
And say
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوٓا۟
kafarū
disbelieve
أَءِذَا
a-idhā
What, when
كُنَّا
kunnā
we have become
تُرَٰبًا
turāban
dust
وَءَابَآؤُنَآ
waābāunā
and our forefathers
أَئِنَّا
a-innā
will we
لَمُخْرَجُونَ
lamukh'rajūna
surely be brought out
And those who disbelieve say, "When we have become dust as well as our forefathers, will we indeed be brought out [of the graves]?

27:68
Ayah 27:68
لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا هَـٰذَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
لَقَدْ
laqad
Certainly
وُعِدْنَا
wuʿid'nā
we have been promised
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
this
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
we
وَءَابَآؤُنَا
waābāunā
and our forefathers
مِن
min
before
قَبْلُ
qablu
before
إِنْ
in
Not
هَـٰذَآ
hādhā
(is) this
إِلَّآ
illā
except
أَسَـٰطِيرُ
asāṭīru
tales
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
l-awalīna
(of) the former (people)
We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples."

27:69
Ayah 27:69
قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
قُلْ
qul
Say
سِيرُوا۟
sīrū
Travel
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the land
فَٱنظُرُوا۟
fa-unẓurū
and see
كَيْفَ
kayfa
how
كَانَ
kāna
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu
(the) end
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
l-muj'rimīna
(of) the criminals
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Proceed [i.e., travel] through the land and observe how was the end of the criminals."

27:70
Ayah 27:70
وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُن فِى ضَيْقٍ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تَحْزَنْ
taḥzan
grieve
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
over them
وَلَا
walā
and not
تَكُن
takun
be
فِى
in
ضَيْقٍ
ḍayqin
distress
مِّمَّا
mimmā
from what
يَمْكُرُونَ
yamkurūna
they plot
And grieve not over them or be in distress from what they conspire.

27:71
Ayah 27:71
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaqūlūna
And they say
مَتَىٰ
matā
When
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
(will) this
ٱلْوَعْدُ
l-waʿdu
promise (be fulfilled)
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīna
truthful
And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?"

27:72
Ayah 27:72
قُلْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ رَدِفَ لَكُم بَعْضُ ٱلَّذِى تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
قُلْ
qul
Say
عَسَىٰٓ
ʿasā
Perhaps
أَن
an
that
يَكُونَ
yakūna
is
رَدِفَ
radifa
close behind
لَكُم
lakum
you
بَعْضُ
baʿḍu
some
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
(of) that which
تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
tastaʿjilūna
you seek to hasten
Say, "Perhaps it is close behind you [i.e., very near] - some of that for which you are impatient.

27:73
Ayah 27:73
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
لَذُو
ladhū
(is) full of Bounty
فَضْلٍ
faḍlin
(is) full of Bounty
عَلَى
ʿalā
for
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi
the mankind
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
walākinna
but
أَكْثَرَهُمْ
aktharahum
most of them
لَا
(are) not
يَشْكُرُونَ
yashkurūna
grateful
And indeed, your Lord is the possessor of bounty for the people, but most of them are not grateful."

27:74
Ayah 27:74
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمْ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
لَيَعْلَمُ
layaʿlamu
surely knows
مَا
what
تُكِنُّ
tukinnu
conceals
صُدُورُهُمْ
ṣudūruhum
their breasts
وَمَا
wamā
and what
يُعْلِنُونَ
yuʿ'linūna
they declare
And indeed, your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they declare.

27:75
Ayah 27:75
وَمَا مِنْ غَآئِبَةٍ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا فِى كِتَـٰبٍ مُّبِينٍ
وَمَا
wamā
And not (is)
مِنْ
min
any (thing)
غَآئِبَةٍ
ghāibatin
hidden
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
إِلَّا
illā
but
فِى
(is) in
كِتَـٰبٍ
kitābin
a Record
مُّبِينٍ
mubīnin
clear
And there is nothing concealed1 within the heaven and the earth except that it is in a clear Register.2

27:76
Ayah 27:76
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ يَقُصُّ عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ أَكْثَرَ ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
this
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
l-qur'āna
[the] Quran
يَقُصُّ
yaquṣṣu
relates
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
to
بَنِىٓ
banī
(the) Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla
(of) Israel
أَكْثَرَ
akthara
most
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
(of) that
هُمْ
hum
they
فِيهِ
fīhi
in it
يَخْتَلِفُونَ
yakhtalifūna
differ
Indeed, this Qur’ān relates to the Children of Israel most of that over which they disagree.

27:77
Ayah 27:77
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
وَإِنَّهُۥ
wa-innahu
And indeed, it
لَهُدًى
lahudan
(is) surely a guidance
وَرَحْمَةٌ
waraḥmatun
and a mercy
لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
lil'mu'minīna
for the believers
And indeed, it is guidance and mercy for the believers.

27:78
Ayah 27:78
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَقْضِى بَيْنَهُم بِحُكْمِهِۦ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
يَقْضِى
yaqḍī
will judge
بَيْنَهُم
baynahum
between them
بِحُكْمِهِۦ
biḥuk'mihi
by His Judgment
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
l-ʿalīmu
the All-Knower
Indeed, your Lord will judge between them by His [wise] judgement. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.

27:79
Ayah 27:79
فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَى ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلْمُبِينِ
فَتَوَكَّلْ
fatawakkal
So put your trust
عَلَى
ʿalā
in
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
إِنَّكَ
innaka
indeed, you
عَلَى
ʿalā
(are) on
ٱلْحَقِّ
l-ḥaqi
the truth
ٱلْمُبِينِ
l-mubīni
manifest
So rely upon Allāh; indeed, you are upon the clear truth.

27:80
Ayah 27:80
إِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَلَا تُسْمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا وَلَّوْا۟ مُدْبِرِينَ
إِنَّكَ
innaka
Indeed, you
لَا
(can) not
تُسْمِعُ
tus'miʿu
cause to hear
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
l-mawtā
the dead
وَلَا
walā
and not
تُسْمِعُ
tus'miʿu
can you cause to hear
ٱلصُّمَّ
l-ṣuma
the deaf
ٱلدُّعَآءَ
l-duʿāa
the call
إِذَا
idhā
when
وَلَّوْا۟
wallaw
they turn back
مُدْبِرِينَ
mud'birīna
retreating
Indeed, you will not make the dead hear, nor will you make the deaf hear the call when they have turned their backs retreating.

27:81
Ayah 27:81
وَمَآ أَنتَ بِهَـٰدِى ٱلْعُمْىِ عَن ضَلَـٰلَتِهِمْ ۖ إِن تُسْمِعُ إِلَّا مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا فَهُم مُّسْلِمُونَ
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَنتَ
anta
(can) you
بِهَـٰدِى
bihādī
guide
ٱلْعُمْىِ
l-ʿum'yi
the blind
عَن
ʿan
from
ضَلَـٰلَتِهِمْ
ḍalālatihim
their error
إِن
in
Not
تُسْمِعُ
tus'miʿu
you can cause to hear
إِلَّا
illā
except
مَن
man
(those) who
يُؤْمِنُ
yu'minu
believe
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
biāyātinā
in Our Signs
فَهُم
fahum
so they
مُّسْلِمُونَ
mus'limūna
(are) Muslims
And you cannot guide the blind away from their error. You will only make hear those who believe in Our verses so they are Muslims [i.e., submitting to Allāh].

27:82
Ayah 27:82
۞ وَإِذَا وَقَعَ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَخْرَجْنَا لَهُمْ دَآبَّةً مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ تُكَلِّمُهُمْ أَنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا لَا يُوقِنُونَ
وَإِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
وَقَعَ
waqaʿa
(is) fulfilled
ٱلْقَوْلُ
l-qawlu
the word
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
against them
أَخْرَجْنَا
akhrajnā
We will bring forth
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
دَآبَّةً
dābbatan
a creature
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
تُكَلِّمُهُمْ
tukallimuhum
speaking to them
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsa
the people
كَانُوا۟
kānū
were
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
biāyātinā
of Our Signs
لَا
not
يُوقِنُونَ
yūqinūna
certain
And when the word [i.e., decree] befalls them,1 We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, [saying] that the people were, of Our verses, not certain [in faith].

27:83
Ayah 27:83
وَيَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ فَوْجًا مِّمَّن يُكَذِّبُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ
وَيَوْمَ
wayawma
And (the) Day
نَحْشُرُ
naḥshuru
We will gather
مِن
min
from
كُلِّ
kulli
every
أُمَّةٍ
ummatin
nation
فَوْجًا
fawjan
a troop
مِّمَّن
mimman
of (those) who
يُكَذِّبُ
yukadhibu
deny
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا
biāyātinā
Our Signs
فَهُمْ
fahum
and they
يُوزَعُونَ
yūzaʿūna
will be set in rows
And [warn of] the Day when We will gather from every nation a company of those who deny Our signs, and they will be [driven] in rows

27:84
Ayah 27:84
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءُو قَالَ أَكَذَّبْتُم بِـَٔايَـٰتِى وَلَمْ تُحِيطُوا۟ بِهَا عِلْمًا أَمَّاذَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattā
Until
إِذَا
idhā
when
جَآءُو
jāū
they come
قَالَ
qāla
He will say
أَكَذَّبْتُم
akadhabtum
Did you deny
بِـَٔايَـٰتِى
biāyātī
My Signs
وَلَمْ
walam
while not
تُحِيطُوا۟
tuḥīṭū
you encompassed
بِهَا
bihā
them
عِلْمًا
ʿil'man
(in) knowledge
أَمَّاذَا
ammādhā
or what
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūna
do
Until, when they arrive [at the place of Judgement], He will say, "Did you deny My signs while you encompassed them not in knowledge, or what [was it that] you were doing?"

27:85
Ayah 27:85
وَوَقَعَ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَيْهِم بِمَا ظَلَمُوا۟ فَهُمْ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
وَوَقَعَ
wawaqaʿa
And (will be) fulfilled
ٱلْقَوْلُ
l-qawlu
the word
عَلَيْهِم
ʿalayhim
against them
بِمَا
bimā
because
ظَلَمُوا۟
ẓalamū
they wronged
فَهُمْ
fahum
and they
لَا
(will) not
يَنطِقُونَ
yanṭiqūna
speak
And the decree will befall them1 for the wrong they did, and they will not [be able to] speak.

27:86
Ayah 27:86
أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا جَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِيَسْكُنُوا۟ فِيهِ وَٱلنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
أَلَمْ
alam
Do not
يَرَوْا۟
yaraw
they see
أَنَّا
annā
that We
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnā
[We] have made
ٱلَّيْلَ
al-layla
the night
لِيَسْكُنُوا۟
liyaskunū
that they may rest
فِيهِ
fīhi
in it
وَٱلنَّهَارَ
wal-nahāra
and the day
مُبْصِرًا
mub'ṣiran
giving visibility
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ
laāyātin
surely (are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūna
who believe
Do they not see that We made the night that they may rest therein and the day giving sight? Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.

27:87
Ayah 27:87
وَيَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَفَزِعَ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّا مَن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ وَكُلٌّ أَتَوْهُ دَٰخِرِينَ
وَيَوْمَ
wayawma
And (the) Day
يُنفَخُ
yunfakhu
will be blown
فِى
[in]
ٱلصُّورِ
l-ṣūri
the trumpet
فَفَزِعَ
fafaziʿa
and will be terrified
مَن
man
whoever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَمَن
waman
and whoever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
إِلَّا
illā
except
مَن
man
whom
شَآءَ
shāa
Allah wills
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah wills
وَكُلٌّ
wakullun
And all
أَتَوْهُ
atawhu
(will) come to Him
دَٰخِرِينَ
dākhirīna
humbled
And [warn of] the Day the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified except whom Allāh wills. And all will come to Him humbled.

27:88
Ayah 27:88
وَتَرَى ٱلْجِبَالَ تَحْسَبُهَا جَامِدَةً وَهِىَ تَمُرُّ مَرَّ ٱلسَّحَابِ ۚ صُنْعَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَتْقَنَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا تَفْعَلُونَ
وَتَرَى
watarā
And you see
ٱلْجِبَالَ
l-jibāla
the mountains
تَحْسَبُهَا
taḥsabuhā
thinking them
جَامِدَةً
jāmidatan
firmly fixed
وَهِىَ
wahiya
while they
تَمُرُّ
tamurru
will pass
مَرَّ
marra
(as the) passing
ٱلسَّحَابِ
l-saḥābi
(of) the clouds
صُنْعَ
ṣun'ʿa
(The) Work
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhī
Who
أَتْقَنَ
atqana
perfected
كُلَّ
kulla
all
شَىْءٍ
shayin
things
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
خَبِيرٌۢ
khabīrun
(is) All-Aware
بِمَا
bimā
of what
تَفْعَلُونَ
tafʿalūna
you do
And you see the mountains, thinking them motionless,1 while they will pass as the passing of clouds. [It is] the work of Allāh, who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Aware of that which you do.

27:89
Ayah 27:89
مَن جَآءَ بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُۥ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهَا وَهُم مِّن فَزَعٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ ءَامِنُونَ
مَن
man
Whoever
جَآءَ
jāa
comes
بِٱلْحَسَنَةِ
bil-ḥasanati
with the good
فَلَهُۥ
falahu
then for him
خَيْرٌ
khayrun
(will be) better
مِّنْهَا
min'hā
than it
وَهُم
wahum
and they
مِّن
min
from
فَزَعٍ
fazaʿin
(the) terror
يَوْمَئِذٍ
yawma-idhin
(of) that Day
ءَامِنُونَ
āminūna
(will be) safe
Whoever comes [at Judgement] with a good deed will have better than it, and they, from the terror of that Day, will be safe.

27:90
Ayah 27:90
وَمَن جَآءَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ فَكُبَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فِى ٱلنَّارِ هَلْ تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
جَآءَ
jāa
comes
بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ
bil-sayi-ati
with the evil
فَكُبَّتْ
fakubbat
will be cast down
وُجُوهُهُمْ
wujūhuhum
their faces
فِى
in
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nāri
the Fire
هَلْ
hal
Are
تُجْزَوْنَ
tuj'zawna
you recompensed
إِلَّا
illā
except
مَا
(for) what
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you used (to)
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūna
do
And whoever comes with an evil deed1 - their faces will be overturned into the Fire, [and it will be said], "Are you recompensed except for what you used to do?"

27:91
Ayah 27:91
إِنَّمَآ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ رَبَّ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْبَلْدَةِ ٱلَّذِى حَرَّمَهَا وَلَهُۥ كُلُّ شَىْءٍ ۖ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
إِنَّمَآ
innamā
Only
أُمِرْتُ
umir'tu
I am commanded
أَنْ
an
that
أَعْبُدَ
aʿbuda
I worship
رَبَّ
rabba
(the) Lord
هَـٰذِهِ
hādhihi
(of) this
ٱلْبَلْدَةِ
l-baldati
city
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
the One Who
حَرَّمَهَا
ḥarramahā
made it sacred
وَلَهُۥ
walahu
and to Him (belongs)
كُلُّ
kullu
all
شَىْءٍ
shayin
things
وَأُمِرْتُ
wa-umir'tu
And I am commanded
أَنْ
an
that
أَكُونَ
akūna
I be
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
l-mus'limīna
the Muslims
[Say, O Muḥammad], "I have only been commanded to worship the Lord of this city,1 who made it sacred and to whom [belongs] all things. And I am commanded to be of the Muslims [i.e., those who submit to Allāh].

27:92
Ayah 27:92
وَأَنْ أَتْلُوَا۟ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ ۖ فَمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِى لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَقُلْ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
وَأَنْ
wa-an
And that
أَتْلُوَا۟
atluwā
I recite
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
l-qur'āna
the Quran
فَمَنِ
famani
And whoever
ٱهْتَدَىٰ
ih'tadā
accepts guidance
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamā
then only
يَهْتَدِى
yahtadī
he accepts guidance
لِنَفْسِهِۦ
linafsihi
for himself
وَمَن
waman
and whoever
ضَلَّ
ḍalla
goes astray
فَقُلْ
faqul
then say
إِنَّمَآ
innamā
Only
أَنَا۠
anā
I am
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
l-mundhirīna
the warners
And to recite the Qur’ān." And whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] himself; and whoever strays - say, "I am only [one] of the warners."

27:93
Ayah 27:93
وَقُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ سَيُرِيكُمْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ فَتَعْرِفُونَهَا ۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَـٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
وَقُلِ
waquli
And say
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamdu
All praise (be)
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
to Allah
سَيُرِيكُمْ
sayurīkum
He will show you
ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ
āyātihi
His Signs
فَتَعْرِفُونَهَا
fataʿrifūnahā
and you will recognize them
وَمَا
wamā
And your Lord is not
رَبُّكَ
rabbuka
And your Lord is not
بِغَـٰفِلٍ
bighāfilin
unaware
عَمَّا
ʿammā
of what
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūna
you do
And say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allāh. He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do."
