Ayah 29:2
أَحَسِبَ ٱلنَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوٓا۟ أَن يَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ
أَحَسِبَ
aḥasiba
Do think
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsu
the people
أَن
an
that
يُتْرَكُوٓا۟
yut'rakū
they will be left
أَن
an
because
يَقُولُوٓا۟
yaqūlū
they say
ءَامَنَّا
āmannā
We believe
وَهُمْ
wahum
and they
لَا
will not be tested
يُفْتَنُونَ
yuf'tanūna
will not be tested
Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried?

29:3
Ayah 29:3
وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And indeed
فَتَنَّا
fatannā
We tested
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
مِن
min
(were) before them
قَبْلِهِمْ
qablihim
(were) before them
فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ
falayaʿlamanna
And Allah will surely make evident
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
And Allah will surely make evident
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
صَدَقُوا۟
ṣadaqū
(are) truthful
وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ
walayaʿlamanna
and He will surely make evident
ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
l-kādhibīna
the liars
But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allāh will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.

29:4
Ayah 29:4
أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَسْبِقُونَا ۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ
أَمْ
am
Or
حَسِبَ
ḥasiba
think
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
يَعْمَلُونَ
yaʿmalūna
do
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ
l-sayiāti
evil deeds
أَن
an
that
يَسْبِقُونَا
yasbiqūnā
they can outrun Us
سَآءَ
sāa
Evil is
مَا
what
يَحْكُمُونَ
yaḥkumūna
they judge
Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun [i.e., escape] Us? Evil is what they judge.

29:5
Ayah 29:5
مَن كَانَ يَرْجُوا۟ لِقَآءَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ لَـَٔاتٍ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
مَن
man
Whoever
كَانَ
kāna
[is]
يَرْجُوا۟
yarjū
hopes
لِقَآءَ
liqāa
(for the) meeting
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(with) Allah
فَإِنَّ
fa-inna
then indeed
أَجَلَ
ajala
(the) Term
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
لَـَٔاتٍ
laātin
(is) surely coming
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
l-samīʿu
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
l-ʿalīmu
the All-Knower
Whoever should hope for the meeting with Allāh - indeed, the term [decreed by] Allāh is coming. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

29:6
Ayah 29:6
وَمَن جَـٰهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَـٰهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَنِىٌّ عَنِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
جَـٰهَدَ
jāhada
strives
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamā
then only
يُجَـٰهِدُ
yujāhidu
he strives
لِنَفْسِهِۦٓ
linafsihi
for himself
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
لَغَنِىٌّ
laghaniyyun
(is) Free from need
عَنِ
ʿani
of
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
the worlds
And whoever strives only strives for [the benefit of] himself. Indeed, Allāh is Free from need of the worlds.

29:7
Ayah 29:7
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilū
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous (deeds)
لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ
lanukaffiranna
surely, We will remove
عَنْهُمْ
ʿanhum
from them
سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ
sayyiātihim
their evil deeds
وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ
walanajziyannahum
and We will surely reward them
أَحْسَنَ
aḥsana
(the) best
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
(of) what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used
يَعْمَلُونَ
yaʿmalūna
(to) do
And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.

29:8
Ayah 29:8
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا ۖ وَإِن جَـٰهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِى مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَآ ۚ إِلَىَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
وَوَصَّيْنَا
wawaṣṣaynā
And We have enjoined
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
l-insāna
(on) man
بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ
biwālidayhi
goodness to his parents
حُسْنًا
ḥus'nan
goodness to his parents
وَإِن
wa-in
but if
جَـٰهَدَاكَ
jāhadāka
they both strive against you
لِتُشْرِكَ
litush'rika
to make you associate
بِى
with Me
مَا
what
لَيْسَ
laysa
not
لَكَ
laka
you have
بِهِۦ
bihi
of it
عِلْمٌ
ʿil'mun
any knowledge
فَلَا
falā
then (do) not
تُطِعْهُمَآ
tuṭiʿ'humā
obey both of them
إِلَىَّ
ilayya
To Me
مَرْجِعُكُمْ
marjiʿukum
(is) your return
فَأُنَبِّئُكُم
fa-unabbi-ukum
and I will inform you
بِمَا
bimā
about what
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you used
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūna
(to) do
And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge,1 do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.

29:9
Ayah 29:9
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilū
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds
لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ
lanud'khilannahum
We will surely admit them
فِى
among
ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
l-ṣāliḥīna
the righteous
And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely admit them among the righteous [into Paradise].

29:10
Ayah 29:10
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ فَإِذَآ أُوذِىَ فِى ٱللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ ٱلنَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَآءَ نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ ۚ أَوَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِى صُدُورِ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمِنَ
wamina
And of
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi
the people
مَن
man
(is he) who
يَقُولُ
yaqūlu
says
ءَامَنَّا
āmannā
We believe
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
فَإِذَآ
fa-idhā
But when
أُوذِىَ
ūdhiya
he is harmed
فِى
in
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(the Way of) Allah
جَعَلَ
jaʿala
he considers
فِتْنَةَ
fit'nata
(the) trial
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi
(of) the people
كَعَذَابِ
kaʿadhābi
as (the) punishment
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَلَئِن
wala-in
But if
جَآءَ
jāa
comes
نَصْرٌ
naṣrun
victory
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّكَ
rabbika
your Lord
لَيَقُولُنَّ
layaqūlunna
surely they say
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
كُنَّا
kunnā
were
مَعَكُمْ
maʿakum
with you
أَوَلَيْسَ
awalaysa
Is not
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
بِأَعْلَمَ
bi-aʿlama
most knowing
بِمَا
bimā
of what
فِى
(is) in
صُدُورِ
ṣudūri
(the) breasts
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
(of) the worlds
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allāh," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allāh, he considers the trial [i.e., harm] of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allāh. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allāh most knowing of what is within the breasts of the worlds [i.e., all creatures]?

29:11
Ayah 29:11
وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ
وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ
walayaʿlamanna
And Allah will surely make evident
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
And Allah will surely make evident
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ
walayaʿlamanna
And He will surely make evident
ٱلْمُنَـٰفِقِينَ
l-munāfiqīna
the hypocrites
And Allāh will surely make evident those who believe, and He will surely make evident the hypocrites.

29:12
Ayah 29:12
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَـٰيَـٰكُمْ وَمَا هُم بِحَـٰمِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَـٰيَـٰهُم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ
وَقَالَ
waqāla
And said
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieve
لِلَّذِينَ
lilladhīna
to those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟
ittabiʿū
Follow
سَبِيلَنَا
sabīlanā
our way
وَلْنَحْمِلْ
walnaḥmil
and we will carry
خَطَـٰيَـٰكُمْ
khaṭāyākum
your sins
وَمَا
wamā
But not
هُم
hum
they
بِحَـٰمِلِينَ
biḥāmilīna
(are) going to carry
مِنْ
min
of
خَطَـٰيَـٰهُم
khaṭāyāhum
their sins
مِّن
min
any
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
إِنَّهُمْ
innahum
Indeed, they
لَكَـٰذِبُونَ
lakādhibūna
(are) surely liars
And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins."1 But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars.

29:13
Ayah 29:13
وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ أَثْقَالَهُمْ وَأَثْقَالًا مَّعَ أَثْقَالِهِمْ ۖ وَلَيُسْـَٔلُنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
وَلَيَحْمِلُنَّ
walayaḥmilunna
But surely they will carry
أَثْقَالَهُمْ
athqālahum
their burdens
وَأَثْقَالًا
wa-athqālan
and burdens
مَّعَ
maʿa
with
أَثْقَالِهِمْ
athqālihim
their burdens
وَلَيُسْـَٔلُنَّ
walayus'alunna
and surely they will be questioned
يَوْمَ
yawma
(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
عَمَّا
ʿammā
about what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used
يَفْتَرُونَ
yaftarūna
(to) invent
But they will surely carry their [own] burdens and [other] burdens along with their burdens,1 and they will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they used to invent.

29:14
Ayah 29:14
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَـٰلِمُونَ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And verily
أَرْسَلْنَا
arsalnā
We sent
نُوحًا
nūḥan
Nuh
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
قَوْمِهِۦ
qawmihi
his people
فَلَبِثَ
falabitha
and he remained
فِيهِمْ
fīhim
among them
أَلْفَ
alfa
a thousand
سَنَةٍ
sanatin
year(s)
إِلَّا
illā
save
خَمْسِينَ
khamsīna
fifty
عَامًا
ʿāman
year(s)
فَأَخَذَهُمُ
fa-akhadhahumu
then seized them
ٱلطُّوفَانُ
l-ṭūfānu
the flood
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
ظَـٰلِمُونَ
ẓālimūna
(were) wrongdoers
And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers.

29:15
Ayah 29:15
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَأَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلسَّفِينَةِ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهَآ ءَايَةً لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ
fa-anjaynāhu
But We saved him
وَأَصْحَـٰبَ
wa-aṣḥāba
and (the) people
ٱلسَّفِينَةِ
l-safīnati
(of) the ship
وَجَعَلْنَـٰهَآ
wajaʿalnāhā
and We made it
ءَايَةً
āyatan
a Sign
لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
lil'ʿālamīna
for the worlds
But We saved him and the companions of the ship, and We made it1 a sign for the worlds.

29:16
Ayah 29:16
وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ ۖ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ
wa-ib'rāhīma
And Ibrahim
إِذْ
idh
when
قَالَ
qāla
he said
لِقَوْمِهِ
liqawmihi
to his people
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
uʿ'budū
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
وَٱتَّقُوهُ
wa-ittaqūhu
and fear Him
ذَٰلِكُمْ
dhālikum
That
خَيْرٌ
khayrun
(is) better
لَّكُمْ
lakum
for you
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you
تَعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūna
know
And [We sent] Abraham, when he said to his people, "Worship Allāh and fear Him. That is best for you, if you should know.

29:17
Ayah 29:17
إِنَّمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْثَـٰنًا وَتَخْلُقُونَ إِفْكًا ۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لَكُمْ رِزْقًا فَٱبْتَغُوا۟ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرِّزْقَ وَٱعْبُدُوهُ وَٱشْكُرُوا۟ لَهُۥٓ ۖ إِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ
إِنَّمَا
innamā
Only
تَعْبُدُونَ
taʿbudūna
you worship
مِن
min
besides
دُونِ
dūni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
أَوْثَـٰنًا
awthānan
idols
وَتَخْلُقُونَ
watakhluqūna
and you create
إِفْكًا
if'kan
falsehood
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those whom
تَعْبُدُونَ
taʿbudūna
you worship
مِن
min
besides
دُونِ
dūni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
لَا
(do) not
يَمْلِكُونَ
yamlikūna
possess
لَكُمْ
lakum
for you
رِزْقًا
riz'qan
any provision
فَٱبْتَغُوا۟
fa-ib'taghū
So seek
عِندَ
ʿinda
from
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
ٱلرِّزْقَ
l-riz'qa
the provision
وَٱعْبُدُوهُ
wa-uʿ'budūhu
and worship Him
وَٱشْكُرُوا۟
wa-ush'kurū
and be grateful
لَهُۥٓ
lahu
to Him
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhi
To Him
تُرْجَعُونَ
tur'jaʿūna
you will be returned
You only worship, besides Allāh, idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allāh do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allāh provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned."

29:18
Ayah 29:18
وَإِن تُكَذِّبُوا۟ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أُمَمٌ مِّن قَبْلِكُمْ ۖ وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
تُكَذِّبُوا۟
tukadhibū
you deny
فَقَدْ
faqad
then verily
كَذَّبَ
kadhaba
denied
أُمَمٌ
umamun
(the) nations
مِّن
min
before you
قَبْلِكُمْ
qablikum
before you
وَمَا
wamā
And not
عَلَى
ʿalā
(is) on
ٱلرَّسُولِ
l-rasūli
the Messenger
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ
l-balāghu
the conveyance
ٱلْمُبِينُ
l-mubīnu
clear
And if you [people] deny [the message] - already nations before you have denied. And there is not upon the Messenger except [the duty of] clear notification.1

29:19
Ayah 29:19
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ يُبْدِئُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ
أَوَلَمْ
awalam
Do not
يَرَوْا۟
yaraw
they see
كَيْفَ
kayfa
how
يُبْدِئُ
yub'di-u
Allah originates
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah originates
ٱلْخَلْقَ
l-khalqa
the creation
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
يُعِيدُهُۥٓ
yuʿīduhu
repeats it
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
عَلَى
ʿalā
for
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
يَسِيرٌ
yasīrun
(is) easy
Have they not considered how Allāh begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed that, for Allāh, is easy.

29:20
Ayah 29:20
قُلْ سِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ بَدَأَ ٱلْخَلْقَ ۚ ثُمَّ ٱللَّهُ يُنشِئُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
قُلْ
qul
Say
سِيرُوا۟
sīrū
Travel
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
فَٱنظُرُوا۟
fa-unẓurū
and see
كَيْفَ
kayfa
how
بَدَأَ
bada-a
He originated
ٱلْخَلْقَ
l-khalqa
the creation
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
يُنشِئُ
yunshi-u
will produce
ٱلنَّشْأَةَ
l-nashata
the creation
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
l-ākhirata
the last
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
قَدِيرٌ
qadīrun
(is) All-Powerful
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allāh will produce the final creation [i.e., development]. Indeed Allāh, over all things, is competent."

29:21
Ayah 29:21
يُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْحَمُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ تُقْلَبُونَ
يُعَذِّبُ
yuʿadhibu
He punishes
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashāu
He wills
وَيَرْحَمُ
wayarḥamu
and has mercy
مَن
man
(on) whom
يَشَآءُ
yashāu
He wills
وَإِلَيْهِ
wa-ilayhi
and to Him
تُقْلَبُونَ
tuq'labūna
you will be returned
He punishes whom He wills and has mercy upon whom He wills, and to Him you will be returned.

29:22
Ayah 29:22
وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ ۖ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن وَلِىٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
وَمَآ
wamā
And not
أَنتُم
antum
you
بِمُعْجِزِينَ
bimuʿ'jizīna
can escape
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
وَلَا
walā
and not
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the heaven
وَمَا
wamā
And not
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّن
min
besides
دُونِ
dūni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
مِن
min
any
وَلِىٍّ
waliyyin
protector
وَلَا
walā
and not
نَصِيرٍ
naṣīrin
a helper
And you will not cause failure [to Allāh] upon the earth or in the heaven. And you have not other than Allāh any protector or any helper.

29:23
Ayah 29:23
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِقَآئِهِۦٓ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يَئِسُوا۟ مِن رَّحْمَتِى وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieve
بِـَٔايَـٰتِ
biāyāti
in (the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَلِقَآئِهِۦٓ
waliqāihi
and (the) meeting (with) Him
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
those
يَئِسُوا۟
ya-isū
(have) despaired
مِن
min
of
رَّحْمَتِى
raḥmatī
My Mercy
وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
wa-ulāika
And those
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌ
alīmun
painful
And the ones who disbelieve in the signs of Allāh and the meeting with Him - those have despaired of My mercy, and they will have a painful punishment.

29:24
Ayah 29:24
فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ حَرِّقُوهُ فَأَنجَىٰهُ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
فَمَا
famā
And not
كَانَ
kāna
was
جَوَابَ
jawāba
(the) answer
قَوْمِهِۦٓ
qawmihi
(of) his people
إِلَّآ
illā
except
أَن
an
that
قَالُوا۟
qālū
they said
ٱقْتُلُوهُ
uq'tulūhu
Kill him
أَوْ
aw
or
حَرِّقُوهُ
ḥarriqūhu
burn him
فَأَنجَىٰهُ
fa-anjāhu
But Allah saved him
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
But Allah saved him
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nāri
the fire
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَـٰتٍ
laāyātin
surely (are) Signs
لِّقَوْمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūna
who believe
And the answer of his [i.e., Abraham's] people was not but that they said, "Kill him or burn him," but Allāh saved him from the fire. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.

29:25
Ayah 29:25
وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱتَّخَذْتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْثَـٰنًا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيْنِكُمْ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ ثُمَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ يَكْفُرُ بَعْضُكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَيَلْعَنُ بَعْضُكُم بَعْضًا وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِينَ
وَقَالَ
waqāla
And he said
إِنَّمَا
innamā
Only
ٱتَّخَذْتُم
ittakhadhtum
you have taken
مِّن
min
besides
دُونِ
dūni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
أَوْثَـٰنًا
awthānan
idols
مَّوَدَّةَ
mawaddata
(out of) love
بَيْنِكُمْ
baynikum
among you
فِى
in
ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ
l-ḥayati
the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā
(of) the world
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
يَوْمَ
yawma
(on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
يَكْفُرُ
yakfuru
you will deny
بَعْضُكُم
baʿḍukum
one another
بِبَعْضٍ
bibaʿḍin
one another
وَيَلْعَنُ
wayalʿanu
and curse
بَعْضُكُم
baʿḍukum
one another
بَعْضًا
baʿḍan
one another
وَمَأْوَىٰكُمُ
wamawākumu
and your abode
ٱلنَّارُ
l-nāru
(will be) the Fire
وَمَا
wamā
and not
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّن
min
any
نَّـٰصِرِينَ
nāṣirīna
helpers
And [Abraham] said, "You have only taken, other than Allāh, idols as [a bond of] affection among you in worldly life. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will deny one another and curse one another, and your refuge will be the Fire, and you will not have any helpers."

29:26
Ayah 29:26
۞ فَـَٔامَنَ لَهُۥ لُوطٌ ۘ وَقَالَ إِنِّى مُهَاجِرٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
فَـَٔامَنَ
faāmana
And believed
لَهُۥ
lahu
[in] him
لُوطٌ
lūṭun
Lut
وَقَالَ
waqāla
and he said
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed I (am)
مُهَاجِرٌ
muhājirun
emigrating
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
رَبِّىٓ
rabbī
my Lord
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
هُوَ
huwa
[He] (is)
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise
And Lot believed him. [Abraham] said, "Indeed, I will emigrate to [the service of] my Lord. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

29:27
Ayah 29:27
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِى ذُرِّيَّتِهِ ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ أَجْرَهُۥ فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
وَوَهَبْنَا
wawahabnā
And We granted
لَهُۥٓ
lahu
to him
إِسْحَـٰقَ
is'ḥāqa
Isaac
وَيَعْقُوبَ
wayaʿqūba
and Yaqub
وَجَعَلْنَا
wajaʿalnā
and We placed
فِى
in
ذُرِّيَّتِهِ
dhurriyyatihi
his offsprings
ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ
l-nubuwata
the Prophethood
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
wal-kitāba
and the Book
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُ
waātaynāhu
And We gave him
أَجْرَهُۥ
ajrahu
his reward
فِى
in
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā
the world
وَإِنَّهُۥ
wa-innahu
And indeed, he
فِى
in
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhirati
the Hereafter
لَمِنَ
lamina
(is) surely, among
ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
l-ṣāliḥīna
the righteous
And We gave to him Isaac and Jacob and placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture. And We gave him his reward in this world, and indeed, he is in the Hereafter among the righteous.

29:28
Ayah 29:28
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَلُوطًا
walūṭan
And Lut
إِذْ
idh
when
قَالَ
qāla
he said
لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ
liqawmihi
to his people
إِنَّكُمْ
innakum
Indeed, you
لَتَأْتُونَ
latatūna
commit
ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ
l-fāḥishata
the immorality
مَا
not
سَبَقَكُم
sabaqakum
has preceded you
بِهَا
bihā
with it
مِنْ
min
any
أَحَدٍ
aḥadin
one
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
the worlds
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds.

29:29
Ayah 29:29
أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ وَتَقْطَعُونَ ٱلسَّبِيلَ وَتَأْتُونَ فِى نَادِيكُمُ ٱلْمُنكَرَ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوا۟ ٱئْتِنَا بِعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
أَئِنَّكُمْ
a-innakum
Indeed, you
لَتَأْتُونَ
latatūna
approach
ٱلرِّجَالَ
l-rijāla
the men
وَتَقْطَعُونَ
wataqṭaʿūna
and you cut off
ٱلسَّبِيلَ
l-sabīla
the road
وَتَأْتُونَ
watatūna
and commit
فِى
in
نَادِيكُمُ
nādīkumu
your meetings
ٱلْمُنكَرَ
l-munkara
evil
فَمَا
famā
And not
كَانَ
kāna
was
جَوَابَ
jawāba
(the) answer
قَوْمِهِۦٓ
qawmihi
(of) his people
إِلَّآ
illā
except
أَن
an
that
قَالُوا۟
qālū
they said
ٱئْتِنَا
i'tinā
Bring upon us
بِعَذَابِ
biʿadhābi
(the) punishment
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
إِن
in
if
كُنتَ
kunta
you are
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
l-ṣādiqīna
the truthful
Indeed, you approach men and obstruct the road1 and commit in your meetings [every] evil." And the answer of his people was not but that they said, "Bring us the punishment of Allāh, if you should be of the truthful."

29:30
Ayah 29:30
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱنصُرْنِى عَلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
رَبِّ
rabbi
My Lord
ٱنصُرْنِى
unṣur'nī
Help me
عَلَى
ʿalā
against
ٱلْقَوْمِ
l-qawmi
the people
ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
l-muf'sidīna
the corrupters
He said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people."

29:31
Ayah 29:31
وَلَمَّا جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَآ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ بِٱلْبُشْرَىٰ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا مُهْلِكُوٓا۟ أَهْلِ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ۖ إِنَّ أَهْلَهَا كَانُوا۟ ظَـٰلِمِينَ
وَلَمَّا
walammā
And when
جَآءَتْ
jāat
came
رُسُلُنَآ
rusulunā
Our messengers
إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
ib'rāhīma
(to) Ibrahim
بِٱلْبُشْرَىٰ
bil-bush'rā
with the glad tidings
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
they said
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
مُهْلِكُوٓا۟
muh'likū
(are) going to destroy
أَهْلِ
ahli
(the) people
هَـٰذِهِ
hādhihi
(of) this
ٱلْقَرْيَةِ
l-qaryati
town
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
أَهْلَهَا
ahlahā
its people
كَانُوا۟
kānū
are
ظَـٰلِمِينَ
ẓālimīna
wrongdoers
And when Our messengers [i.e., angels] came to Abraham with the good tidings,1 they said, "Indeed, we will destroy the people of that [i.e., Lot's] city. Indeed, its people have been wrongdoers."

29:32
Ayah 29:32
قَالَ إِنَّ فِيهَا لُوطًا ۚ قَالُوا۟ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن فِيهَا ۖ لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُۥ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِيهَا
fīhā
in it
لُوطًا
lūṭan
(is) Lut
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
We
أَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu
know better
بِمَن
biman
who
فِيهَا
fīhā
(is) in it
لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُۥ
lanunajjiyannahu
We will surely save him
وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ
wa-ahlahu
and his family
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ
im'ra-atahu
his wife
كَانَتْ
kānat
She
مِنَ
mina
(is) of
ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
l-ghābirīna
those who remain behind
[Abraham] said, "Indeed, within it is Lot." They said, "We are more knowing of who is within it. We will surely save him and his family, except his wife. She is to be of those who remain behind."

29:33
Ayah 29:33
وَلَمَّآ أَن جَآءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِىٓءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ وَلَا تَحْزَنْ ۖ إِنَّا مُنَجُّوكَ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَكَ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
وَلَمَّآ
walammā
And when
أَن
an
[that]
جَآءَتْ
jāat
came
رُسُلُنَا
rusulunā
Our messengers
لُوطًا
lūṭan
(to) Lut
سِىٓءَ
sīa
he was distressed
بِهِمْ
bihim
for them
وَضَاقَ
waḍāqa
and felt straitened
بِهِمْ
bihim
for them
ذَرْعًا
dharʿan
(and) uneasy
وَقَالُوا۟
waqālū
And they said
لَا
(Do) not
تَخَفْ
takhaf
fear
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَحْزَنْ
taḥzan
grieve
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
مُنَجُّوكَ
munajjūka
(will) save you
وَأَهْلَكَ
wa-ahlaka
and your family
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱمْرَأَتَكَ
im'ra-ataka
your wife
كَانَتْ
kānat
She
مِنَ
mina
(is) of
ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
l-ghābirīna
those who remain behind
And when Our messengers [i.e., angels] came to Lot, he was distressed for them and felt for them great discomfort.1 They said, "Fear not, nor grieve. Indeed, we will save you and your family, except your wife; she is to be of those who remain behind.

29:34
Ayah 29:34
إِنَّا مُنزِلُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَهْلِ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ رِجْزًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
مُنزِلُونَ
munzilūna
(will) bring down
عَلَىٰٓ
ʿalā
on
أَهْلِ
ahli
(the) people
هَـٰذِهِ
hādhihi
(of) this
ٱلْقَرْيَةِ
l-qaryati
town
رِجْزًا
rij'zan
a punishment
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
(the) sky
بِمَا
bimā
because
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they have been
يَفْسُقُونَ
yafsuqūna
defiantly disobedient
Indeed, we will bring down on the people of this city punishment from the sky because they have been defiantly disobedient."

29:35
Ayah 29:35
وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَا مِنْهَآ ءَايَةًۢ بَيِّنَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ
وَلَقَد
walaqad
And verily
تَّرَكْنَا
taraknā
We have left
مِنْهَآ
min'hā
about it
ءَايَةًۢ
āyatan
a sign
بَيِّنَةً
bayyinatan
(as) evidence
لِّقَوْمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
يَعْقِلُونَ
yaʿqilūna
who use reason
And We have certainly left of it a sign as clear evidence for a people who use reason.

29:36
Ayah 29:36
وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا فَقَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱرْجُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
وَإِلَىٰ
wa-ilā
And to
مَدْيَنَ
madyana
Madyan
أَخَاهُمْ
akhāhum
their brother
شُعَيْبًا
shuʿayban
Shuaib
فَقَالَ
faqāla
And he said
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
ٱعْبُدُوا۟
uʿ'budū
Worship
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
وَٱرْجُوا۟
wa-ir'jū
and expect
ٱلْيَوْمَ
l-yawma
the Day
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَ
l-ākhira
the Last
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَعْثَوْا۟
taʿthaw
commit evil
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
مُفْسِدِينَ
muf'sidīna
(as) corrupters
And to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shuʿayb, and he said, "O my people, worship Allāh and expect the Last Day and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption."

29:37
Ayah 29:37
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ فِى دَارِهِمْ جَـٰثِمِينَ
فَكَذَّبُوهُ
fakadhabūhu
But they denied him
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ
fa-akhadhathumu
so seized them
ٱلرَّجْفَةُ
l-rajfatu
the earthquake
فَأَصْبَحُوا۟
fa-aṣbaḥū
and they became
فِى
in
دَارِهِمْ
dārihim
their home
جَـٰثِمِينَ
jāthimīna
fallen prone
But they denied him, so the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone.

29:38
Ayah 29:38
وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَـٰكِنِهِمْ ۖ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا۟ مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ
وَعَادًا
waʿādan
And Aad
وَثَمُودَا۟
wathamūdā
and Thamud
وَقَد
waqad
and verily
تَّبَيَّنَ
tabayyana
(has) become clear
لَكُم
lakum
to you
مِّن
min
from
مَّسَـٰكِنِهِمْ
masākinihim
their dwellings
وَزَيَّنَ
wazayyana
And made fair-seeming
لَهُمُ
lahumu
to them
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ
l-shayṭānu
the Shaitaan
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ
aʿmālahum
their deeds
فَصَدَّهُمْ
faṣaddahum
and averted them
عَنِ
ʿani
from
ٱلسَّبِيلِ
l-sabīli
the Way
وَكَانُوا۟
wakānū
though they were
مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ
mus'tabṣirīna
endowed with insight
And [We destroyed] ʿAad and Thamūd, and it has become clear to you from their [ruined] dwellings. And Satan had made pleasing to them their deeds and averted them from the path, and they were endowed with perception.

29:39
Ayah 29:39
وَقَـٰرُونَ وَفِرْعَوْنَ وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ سَـٰبِقِينَ
وَقَـٰرُونَ
waqārūna
And Qarun
وَفِرْعَوْنَ
wafir'ʿawna
and Firaun
وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ
wahāmāna
and Haman
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And certainly
جَآءَهُم
jāahum
came to them
مُّوسَىٰ
mūsā
Musa
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ
bil-bayināti
with clear evidences
فَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟
fa-is'takbarū
but they were arrogant
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
وَمَا
wamā
and not
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they could
سَـٰبِقِينَ
sābiqīna
outstrip Us
And [We destroyed] Qārūn and Pharaoh and Hāmān. And Moses had already come to them with clear evidences, and they were arrogant in the land, but they were not outrunners [of Our punishment].

29:40
Ayah 29:40
فَكُلًّا أَخَذْنَا بِذَنۢبِهِۦ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ حَاصِبًا وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَخَذَتْهُ ٱلصَّيْحَةُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ خَسَفْنَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ أَغْرَقْنَا ۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
فَكُلًّا
fakullan
So each
أَخَذْنَا
akhadhnā
We seized
بِذَنۢبِهِۦ
bidhanbihi
for his sin
فَمِنْهُم
famin'hum
Then of them
مَّنْ
man
(was he) who
أَرْسَلْنَا
arsalnā
We sent
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
on him
حَاصِبًا
ḥāṣiban
a violent storm
وَمِنْهُم
wamin'hum
and of them
مَّنْ
man
(was he) who
أَخَذَتْهُ
akhadhathu
seized him
ٱلصَّيْحَةُ
l-ṣayḥatu
the awful cry
وَمِنْهُم
wamin'hum
and of them
مَّنْ
man
(was he) who
خَسَفْنَا
khasafnā
We caused to swallow
بِهِ
bihi
him
ٱلْأَرْضَ
l-arḍa
the earth
وَمِنْهُم
wamin'hum
and of them
مَّنْ
man
(was he) who
أَغْرَقْنَا
aghraqnā
We drowned
وَمَا
wamā
And not
كَانَ
kāna
was
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ
liyaẓlimahum
to wrong them
وَلَـٰكِن
walākin
but
كَانُوٓا۟
kānū
they were
أَنفُسَهُمْ
anfusahum
themselves
يَظْلِمُونَ
yaẓlimūna
doing wrong
So each We seized for his sin; and among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the blast [from the sky], and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. And Allāh would not have wronged them, but it was they who were wronging themselves.

29:41
Ayah 29:41
مَثَلُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوْلِيَآءَ كَمَثَلِ ٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ ٱتَّخَذَتْ بَيْتًا ۖ وَإِنَّ أَوْهَنَ ٱلْبُيُوتِ لَبَيْتُ ٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ ۖ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ
مَثَلُ
mathalu
(The) example
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(of) those who
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
ittakhadhū
take
مِن
min
besides
دُونِ
dūni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
أَوْلِيَآءَ
awliyāa
protectors
كَمَثَلِ
kamathali
(is) like
ٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ
l-ʿankabūti
the spider
ٱتَّخَذَتْ
ittakhadhat
who takes
بَيْتًا
baytan
a house
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
أَوْهَنَ
awhana
the weakest
ٱلْبُيُوتِ
l-buyūti
(of) houses
لَبَيْتُ
labaytu
(is) surely (the) house
ٱلْعَنكَبُوتِ
l-ʿankabūti
(of) the spider
لَوْ
law
if (only)
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūna
know
The example of those who take allies other than Allāh is like that of the spider who takes [i.e., constructs] a home. And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew.

29:42
Ayah 29:42
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مِن شَىْءٍ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
يَعْلَمُ
yaʿlamu
knows
مَا
what
يَدْعُونَ
yadʿūna
they invoke
مِن
min
besides Him
دُونِهِۦ
dūnihi
besides Him
مِن
min
any
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise
Indeed, Allāh knows whatever thing they call upon1 other than Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

29:43
Ayah 29:43
وَتِلْكَ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلُ نَضْرِبُهَا لِلنَّاسِ ۖ وَمَا يَعْقِلُهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْعَـٰلِمُونَ
وَتِلْكَ
watil'ka
And these
ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلُ
l-amthālu
examples
نَضْرِبُهَا
naḍribuhā
We set forth
لِلنَّاسِ
lilnnāsi
to mankind
وَمَا
wamā
but not
يَعْقِلُهَآ
yaʿqiluhā
will understand them
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلْعَـٰلِمُونَ
l-ʿālimūna
those of knowledge
And these examples We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge.

29:44
Ayah 29:44
خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِٱلْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
Allah created
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqi
in truth
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَـَٔايَةً
laāyatan
(is) surely a Sign
لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
lil'mu'minīna
for the believers
Allāh created the heavens and the earth in truth. Indeed in that is a sign for the believers.

29:45
Ayah 29:45
ٱتْلُ مَآ أُوحِىَ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ وَٱلْمُنكَرِ ۗ وَلَذِكْرُ ٱللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ
ٱتْلُ
ut'lu
Recite
مَآ
what
أُوحِىَ
ūḥiya
has been revealed
إِلَيْكَ
ilayka
to you
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābi
the Book
وَأَقِمِ
wa-aqimi
and establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
l-ṣalata
the prayer
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
l-ṣalata
the prayer
تَنْهَىٰ
tanhā
prevents
عَنِ
ʿani
from
ٱلْفَحْشَآءِ
l-faḥshāi
the immorality
وَٱلْمُنكَرِ
wal-munkari
and evil deeds
وَلَذِكْرُ
waladhik'ru
and surely (the) remembrance
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
أَكْبَرُ
akbaru
(is) greatest
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
يَعْلَمُ
yaʿlamu
knows
مَا
what
تَصْنَعُونَ
taṣnaʿūna
you do
Recite, [O Muḥammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allāh is greater. And Allāh knows that which you do.

29:46
Ayah 29:46
۞ وَلَا تُجَـٰدِلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِى هِىَ أَحْسَنُ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَقُولُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِٱلَّذِىٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَأُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَإِلَـٰهُنَا وَإِلَـٰهُكُمْ وَٰحِدٌ وَنَحْنُ لَهُۥ مُسْلِمُونَ
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تُجَـٰدِلُوٓا۟
tujādilū
argue
أَهْلَ
ahla
(with the) People of the Book
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābi
(with the) People of the Book
إِلَّا
illā
except
بِٱلَّتِى
bi-allatī
by which
هِىَ
hiya
[it]
أَحْسَنُ
aḥsanu
(is) best
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ظَلَمُوا۟
ẓalamū
(do) wrong
مِنْهُمْ
min'hum
among them
وَقُولُوٓا۟
waqūlū
and say
ءَامَنَّا
āmannā
We believe
بِٱلَّذِىٓ
bi-alladhī
in that (which)
أُنزِلَ
unzila
has been revealed
إِلَيْنَا
ilaynā
to us
وَأُنزِلَ
wa-unzila
and was revealed
إِلَيْكُمْ
ilaykum
to you
وَإِلَـٰهُنَا
wa-ilāhunā
And our God
وَإِلَـٰهُكُمْ
wa-ilāhukum
and your God
وَٰحِدٌ
wāḥidun
(is) One
وَنَحْنُ
wanaḥnu
and we
لَهُۥ
lahu
to Him
مُسْلِمُونَ
mus'limūna
submit
And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

29:47
Ayah 29:47
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ۚ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ ۖ وَمِنْ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِهِۦ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
وَكَذَٰلِكَ
wakadhālika
And thus
أَنزَلْنَآ
anzalnā
We (have) revealed
إِلَيْكَ
ilayka
to you
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
l-kitāba
the Book
فَٱلَّذِينَ
fa-alladhīna
So those
ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمُ
ātaynāhumu
We gave [them]
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
l-kitāba
the Book
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūna
believe
بِهِۦ
bihi
therein
وَمِنْ
wamin
And among
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāi
these
مَن
man
(are some) who
يُؤْمِنُ
yu'minu
believe
بِهِۦ
bihi
therein
وَمَا
wamā
And none
يَجْحَدُ
yajḥadu
reject
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ
biāyātinā
Our Verses
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
l-kāfirūna
the disbelievers
And thus We have sent down to you the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān]. And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture believe in it. And among these [people of Makkah] are those who believe in it. And none reject Our verses except the disbelievers.

29:48
Ayah 29:48
وَمَا كُنتَ تَتْلُوا۟ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ مِن كِتَـٰبٍ وَلَا تَخُطُّهُۥ بِيَمِينِكَ ۖ إِذًا لَّٱرْتَابَ ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
كُنتَ
kunta
(did) you
تَتْلُوا۟
tatlū
recite
مِن
min
before it
قَبْلِهِۦ
qablihi
before it
مِن
min
any
كِتَـٰبٍ
kitābin
Book
وَلَا
walā
and not
تَخُطُّهُۥ
takhuṭṭuhu
(did) you write it
بِيَمِينِكَ
biyamīnika
with your right hand
إِذًا
idhan
in that case
لَّٱرْتَابَ
la-ir'tāba
surely (would) have doubted
ٱلْمُبْطِلُونَ
l-mub'ṭilūna
the falsifiers
And you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand. Then [i.e., otherwise] the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt.

29:49
Ayah 29:49
بَلْ هُوَ ءَايَـٰتٌۢ بَيِّنَـٰتٌ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ إِلَّا ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
بَلْ
bal
Nay
هُوَ
huwa
it
ءَايَـٰتٌۢ
āyātun
(is) Verses
بَيِّنَـٰتٌ
bayyinātun
clear
فِى
in
صُدُورِ
ṣudūri
(the) breasts
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(of) those who
أُوتُوا۟
ūtū
are given
ٱلْعِلْمَ
l-ʿil'ma
the knowledge
وَمَا
wamā
And not
يَجْحَدُ
yajḥadu
reject
بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ
biāyātinā
Our Verses
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
l-ẓālimūna
the wrongdoers
Rather, it [i.e., the Qur’ān] is distinct verses [preserved] within the breasts of those who have been given knowledge. And none reject Our verses except the wrongdoers.

29:50
Ayah 29:50
وَقَالُوا۟ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَـٰتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
وَقَالُوا۟
waqālū
And they say
لَوْلَآ
lawlā
Why not
أُنزِلَ
unzila
are sent down
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
to him
ءَايَـٰتٌ
āyātun
(the) Signs
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّهِۦ
rabbihi
his Lord
قُلْ
qul
Say
إِنَّمَا
innamā
Only
ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتُ
l-āyātu
the Signs
عِندَ
ʿinda
(are) with
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
وَإِنَّمَآ
wa-innamā
and only
أَنَا۠
anā
I (am)
نَذِيرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnun
clear
But they say, "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "The signs are only with Allāh, and I am only a clear warner."

29:51
Ayah 29:51
أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِهِمْ أَنَّآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَرَحْمَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
أَوَلَمْ
awalam
And is (it) not
يَكْفِهِمْ
yakfihim
sufficient for them
أَنَّآ
annā
that We
أَنزَلْنَا
anzalnā
revealed
عَلَيْكَ
ʿalayka
to you
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
l-kitāba
the Book
يُتْلَىٰ
yut'lā
(which) is recited
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
to them
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
فِى
in
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
لَرَحْمَةً
laraḥmatan
surely is a mercy
وَذِكْرَىٰ
wadhik'rā
and a reminder
لِقَوْمٍ
liqawmin
for a people
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūna
who believe
And is it not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book [i.e., the Qur’ān] which is recited to them? Indeed in that is a mercy and reminder for a people who believe.

29:52
Ayah 29:52
قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ شَهِيدًا ۖ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ وَكَفَرُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ
قُلْ
qul
Say
كَفَىٰ
kafā
Sufficient is
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
Allah
بَيْنِى
baynī
between me
وَبَيْنَكُمْ
wabaynakum
and between you
شَهِيدًا
shahīdan
(as) a Witness
يَعْلَمُ
yaʿlamu
He knows
مَا
what
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ
bil-bāṭili
in [the] falsehood
وَكَفَرُوا۟
wakafarū
and disbelieve
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
those
هُمُ
humu
they
ٱلْخَـٰسِرُونَ
l-khāsirūna
(are) the losers
Say, "Sufficient is Allāh between me and you as Witness. He knows what is in the heavens and earth. And they who have believed in falsehood and disbelieved in Allāh - it is those who are the losers."

29:53
Ayah 29:53
وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ ۚ وَلَوْلَآ أَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى لَّجَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ
wayastaʿjilūnaka
And they ask you to hasten
بِٱلْعَذَابِ
bil-ʿadhābi
[with] the punishment
وَلَوْلَآ
walawlā
And if not
أَجَلٌ
ajalun
(for) a term
مُّسَمًّى
musamman
appointed
لَّجَآءَهُمُ
lajāahumu
surely (would) have come to them
ٱلْعَذَابُ
l-ʿadhābu
the punishment
وَلَيَأْتِيَنَّهُم
walayatiyannahum
But it will surely come to them
بَغْتَةً
baghtatan
suddenly
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
لَا
(do) not
يَشْعُرُونَ
yashʿurūna
perceive
And they urge you to hasten the punishment. And if not for [the decree of] a specified term, punishment would have reached them. But it will surely come to them suddenly while they perceive not.

29:54
Ayah 29:54
يَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِٱلْعَذَابِ وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمُحِيطَةٌۢ بِٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
يَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ
yastaʿjilūnaka
They ask you to hasten
بِٱلْعَذَابِ
bil-ʿadhābi
the punishment
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama
Hell
لَمُحِيطَةٌۢ
lamuḥīṭatun
will surely, encompass
بِٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
bil-kāfirīna
the disbelievers
They urge you to hasten the punishment. And indeed, Hell will be encompassing of the disbelievers

29:55
Ayah 29:55
يَوْمَ يَغْشَىٰهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِمْ وَيَقُولُ ذُوقُوا۟ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
يَوْمَ
yawma
On (the) Day
يَغْشَىٰهُمُ
yaghshāhumu
will cover them
ٱلْعَذَابُ
l-ʿadhābu
the punishment
مِن
min
from
فَوْقِهِمْ
fawqihim
above them
وَمِن
wamin
and from
تَحْتِ
taḥti
below
أَرْجُلِهِمْ
arjulihim
their feet
وَيَقُولُ
wayaqūlu
and He will say
ذُوقُوا۟
dhūqū
Taste
مَا
what
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you used
تَعْمَلُونَ
taʿmalūna
(to) do
On the Day the punishment will cover them from above them and from below their feet and it is said, "Taste [the result of] what you used to do."

29:56
Ayah 29:56
يَـٰعِبَادِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِنَّ أَرْضِى وَٰسِعَةٌ فَإِيَّـٰىَ فَٱعْبُدُونِ
يَـٰعِبَادِىَ
yāʿibādiya
O My servants
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
who
ءَامَنُوٓا۟
āmanū
believe
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
أَرْضِى
arḍī
My earth
وَٰسِعَةٌ
wāsiʿatun
(is) spacious
فَإِيَّـٰىَ
fa-iyyāya
so only
فَٱعْبُدُونِ
fa-uʿ'budūni
worship Me
O My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is spacious, so worship only Me.

29:57
Ayah 29:57
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
كُلُّ
kullu
Every
نَفْسٍ
nafsin
soul
ذَآئِقَةُ
dhāiqatu
(will) taste
ٱلْمَوْتِ
l-mawti
the death
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
إِلَيْنَا
ilaynā
to Us
تُرْجَعُونَ
tur'jaʿūna
you will be returned
Every soul will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned.

29:58
Ayah 29:58
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ غُرَفًا تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ نِعْمَ أَجْرُ ٱلْعَـٰمِلِينَ
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilū
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
[the] righteous deeds
لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُم
lanubawwi-annahum
surely We will give them a place
مِّنَ
mina
in
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
l-janati
Paradise
غُرَفًا
ghurafan
lofty dwellings
تَجْرِى
tajrī
flow
مِن
min
from
تَحْتِهَا
taḥtihā
underneath it
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ
l-anhāru
the rivers
خَـٰلِدِينَ
khālidīna
will abide forever
فِيهَا
fīhā
in it
نِعْمَ
niʿ'ma
Excellent is
أَجْرُ
ajru
(the) reward
ٱلْعَـٰمِلِينَ
l-ʿāmilīna
(of) the workers
And those who have believed and done righteous deeds - We will surely assign to them of Paradise [elevated] chambers beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers

29:59
Ayah 29:59
ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
Those who
صَبَرُوا۟
ṣabarū
(are) patient
وَعَلَىٰ
waʿalā
and upon
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
their Lord
يَتَوَكَّلُونَ
yatawakkalūna
put their trust
Who have been patient and upon their Lord rely.

29:60
Ayah 29:60
وَكَأَيِّن مِّن دَآبَّةٍ لَّا تَحْمِلُ رِزْقَهَا ٱللَّهُ يَرْزُقُهَا وَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
وَكَأَيِّن
waka-ayyin
And how many
مِّن
min
of
دَآبَّةٍ
dābbatin
a creature
لَّا
(does) not
تَحْمِلُ
taḥmilu
carry
رِزْقَهَا
riz'qahā
its provision
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
يَرْزُقُهَا
yarzuquhā
provides (for) it
وَإِيَّاكُمْ
wa-iyyākum
and (for) you
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
l-samīʿu
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
l-ʿalīmu
the All-Knower
And how many a creature carries not its [own] provision. Allāh provides for it and for you. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

29:61
Ayah 29:61
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ
وَلَئِن
wala-in
And if
سَأَلْتَهُم
sa-altahum
you ask them
مَّنْ
man
Who
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
وَسَخَّرَ
wasakhara
and subjected
ٱلشَّمْسَ
l-shamsa
the sun
وَٱلْقَمَرَ
wal-qamara
and the moon
لَيَقُولُنَّ
layaqūlunna
Surely they would say
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
فَأَنَّىٰ
fa-annā
Then how
يُؤْفَكُونَ
yu'fakūna
are they deluded
If you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they would surely say, "Allāh." Then how are they deluded?

29:62
Ayah 29:62
ٱللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
ٱللَّهُ
al-lahu
Allah
يَبْسُطُ
yabsuṭu
extends
ٱلرِّزْقَ
l-riz'qa
the provision
لِمَن
liman
for whom
يَشَآءُ
yashāu
He wills
مِنْ
min
of
عِبَادِهِۦ
ʿibādihi
His slaves
وَيَقْدِرُ
wayaqdiru
and restricts
لَهُۥٓ
lahu
for him
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
بِكُلِّ
bikulli
of every
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
عَلِيمٌ
ʿalīmun
(is) All-Knower
Allāh extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts for him. Indeed Allāh is, of all things, Knowing.

29:63
Ayah 29:63
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّن نَّزَّلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَحْيَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَوْتِهَا لَيَقُولُنَّ ٱللَّهُ ۚ قُلِ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ
وَلَئِن
wala-in
And if
سَأَلْتَهُم
sa-altahum
you ask them
مَّن
man
Who
نَّزَّلَ
nazzala
sends down
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the sky
مَآءً
māan
water
فَأَحْيَا
fa-aḥyā
and gives life
بِهِ
bihi
thereby
ٱلْأَرْضَ
l-arḍa
(to) the earth
مِنۢ
min
after
بَعْدِ
baʿdi
after
مَوْتِهَا
mawtihā
its death
لَيَقُولُنَّ
layaqūlunna
Surely, they would say
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
قُلِ
quli
Say
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamdu
All Praises
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
(are) for Allah
بَلْ
bal
But
أَكْثَرُهُمْ
aktharuhum
most of them
لَا
(do) not
يَعْقِلُونَ
yaʿqilūna
use reason
And if you asked them, "Who sends down rain from the sky and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness?" they would surely say, "Allāh." Say, "Praise to Allāh"; but most of them do not reason.

29:64
Ayah 29:64
وَمَا هَـٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَآ إِلَّا لَهْوٌ وَلَعِبٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ لَهِىَ ٱلْحَيَوَانُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
هَـٰذِهِ
hādhihi
(is) this
ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ
l-ḥayatu
life
ٱلدُّنْيَآ
l-dun'yā
(of) the world
إِلَّا
illā
but
لَهْوٌ
lahwun
amusement
وَلَعِبٌ
walaʿibun
and play
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
ٱلدَّارَ
l-dāra
the Home
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
l-ākhirata
(of) the Hereafter
لَهِىَ
lahiya
surely, it
ٱلْحَيَوَانُ
l-ḥayawānu
(is) the life
لَوْ
law
if only
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūna
know
And this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter - that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew.

29:65
Ayah 29:65
فَإِذَا رَكِبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ دَعَوُا۟ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّىٰهُمْ إِلَى ٱلْبَرِّ إِذَا هُمْ يُشْرِكُونَ
فَإِذَا
fa-idhā
And when
رَكِبُوا۟
rakibū
they embark
فِى
[in]
ٱلْفُلْكِ
l-ful'ki
the ship
دَعَوُا۟
daʿawū
they call
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
مُخْلِصِينَ
mukh'liṣīna
(being) sincere
لَهُ
lahu
to Him
ٱلدِّينَ
l-dīna
(in) the religion
فَلَمَّا
falammā
But when
نَجَّىٰهُمْ
najjāhum
He delivers them
إِلَى
ilā
to
ٱلْبَرِّ
l-bari
the land
إِذَا
idhā
behold
هُمْ
hum
they
يُشْرِكُونَ
yush'rikūna
associate partners (with Him)
And when they board a ship, they supplicate Allāh, sincere to Him in religion [i.e., faith and hope]. But when He delivers them to the land, at once they associate others with Him

29:66
Ayah 29:66
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟ بِمَآ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ وَلِيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
لِيَكْفُرُوا۟
liyakfurū
So that they may deny
بِمَآ
bimā
[in] what
ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ
ātaynāhum
We have given them
وَلِيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟
waliyatamattaʿū
and they may enjoy (themselves)
فَسَوْفَ
fasawfa
But soon
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūna
they will know
So that they will deny what We have granted them, and they will enjoy themselves. But they are going to know.1

29:67
Ayah 29:67
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا جَعَلْنَا حَرَمًا ءَامِنًا وَيُتَخَطَّفُ ٱلنَّاسُ مِنْ حَوْلِهِمْ ۚ أَفَبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَةِ ٱللَّهِ يَكْفُرُونَ
أَوَلَمْ
awalam
Do not
يَرَوْا۟
yaraw
they see
أَنَّا
annā
that We
جَعَلْنَا
jaʿalnā
have made
حَرَمًا
ḥaraman
a Sanctuary
ءَامِنًا
āminan
secure
وَيُتَخَطَّفُ
wayutakhaṭṭafu
while are being taken away
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsu
the people
مِنْ
min
around them
حَوْلِهِمْ
ḥawlihim
around them
أَفَبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِ
afabil-bāṭili
Then do in (the) falsehood
يُؤْمِنُونَ
yu'minūna
they believe
وَبِنِعْمَةِ
wabiniʿ'mati
and in (the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
يَكْفُرُونَ
yakfurūna
they disbelieve
Have they not seen that We made [Makkah] a safe sanctuary, while people are being taken away1 all around them? Then in falsehood do they believe, and in the favor of Allāh they disbelieve?

29:68
Ayah 29:68
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُۥٓ ۚ أَلَيْسَ فِى جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
وَمَنْ
waman
And who
أَظْلَمُ
aẓlamu
(is) more unjust
مِمَّنِ
mimmani
than (he) who
ٱفْتَرَىٰ
if'tarā
invents
عَلَى
ʿalā
against
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
كَذِبًا
kadhiban
a lie
أَوْ
aw
or
كَذَّبَ
kadhaba
denies
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqi
the truth
لَمَّا
lammā
when
جَآءَهُۥٓ
jāahu
it has come to him
أَلَيْسَ
alaysa
Is there not
فِى
in
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama
Hell
مَثْوًى
mathwan
an abode
لِّلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
lil'kāfirīna
for the disbelievers
And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allāh or denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in Hell a [sufficient] residence for the disbelievers?

29:69
Ayah 29:69
وَٱلَّذِينَ جَـٰهَدُوا۟ فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَمَعَ ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
جَـٰهَدُوا۟
jāhadū
strive
فِينَا
fīnā
for Us
لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ
lanahdiyannahum
We will surely, guide them
سُبُلَنَا
subulanā
(to) Our ways
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
لَمَعَ
lamaʿa
surely (is) with
ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
l-muḥ'sinīna
the good-doers
And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways.1 And indeed, Allāh is with the doers of good.
