35:1
Ayah 35:1
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ فَاطِرِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ جَاعِلِ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ رُسُلًا أُو۟لِىٓ أَجْنِحَةٍ مَّثْنَىٰ وَثُلَـٰثَ وَرُبَـٰعَ ۚ يَزِيدُ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
ٱلْحَمْدُ
al-ḥamdu
All praises
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
(be) to Allah
فَاطِرِ
fāṭiri
Originator
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
جَاعِلِ
jāʿili
(Who) makes
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ
l-malāikati
the Angels
رُسُلًا
rusulan
messengers
أُو۟لِىٓ
ulī
having wings
أَجْنِحَةٍ
ajniḥatin
having wings
مَّثْنَىٰ
mathnā
two
وَثُلَـٰثَ
wathulātha
or three
وَرُبَـٰعَ
warubāʿa
or four
يَزِيدُ
yazīdu
He increases
فِى
in
ٱلْخَلْقِ
l-khalqi
the creation
مَا
what
يَشَآءُ
yashāu
He wills
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
قَدِيرٌ
qadīrun
All-Powerful
[All] praise is [due] to Allāh, Creator of the heavens and the earth, [who] made the angels messengers having wings, two or three or four. He increases in creation what He wills. Indeed, Allāh is over all things competent.

35:2
Ayah 35:2
مَّا يَفْتَحِ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ مِن رَّحْمَةٍ فَلَا مُمْسِكَ لَهَا ۖ وَمَا يُمْسِكْ فَلَا مُرْسِلَ لَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
مَّا
What
يَفْتَحِ
yaftaḥi
Allah grants
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah grants
لِلنَّاسِ
lilnnāsi
to mankind
مِن
min
of
رَّحْمَةٍ
raḥmatin
Mercy
فَلَا
falā
then none
مُمْسِكَ
mum'sika
(can) withhold
لَهَا
lahā
it
وَمَا
wamā
And what
يُمْسِكْ
yum'sik
He withholds
فَلَا
falā
then none
مُرْسِلَ
mur'sila
(can) release
لَهُۥ
lahu
it
مِنۢ
min
thereafter
بَعْدِهِۦ
baʿdihi
thereafter
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise
Whatever Allāh grants to people of mercy - none can withhold it; and whatever He withholds - none can release it thereafter. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

35:3
Ayah 35:3
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ هَلْ مِنْ خَـٰلِقٍ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ يَرْزُقُكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤْفَكُونَ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsu
mankind
ٱذْكُرُوا۟
udh'kurū
Remember
نِعْمَتَ
niʿ'mata
(the) Favor
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
upon you
هَلْ
hal
Is
مِنْ
min
(there) any
خَـٰلِقٍ
khāliqin
creator
غَيْرُ
ghayru
other (than) Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
other (than) Allah
يَرْزُقُكُم
yarzuqukum
who provides for you
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the sky
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
لَآ
(There is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
ilāha
god
إِلَّا
illā
but
هُوَ
huwa
He
فَأَنَّىٰ
fa-annā
Then, how
تُؤْفَكُونَ
tu'fakūna
(are) you deluded
O mankind, remember the favor of Allāh upon you. Is there any creator other than Allāh who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded?

35:4
Ayah 35:4
وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَتْ رُسُلٌ مِّن قَبْلِكَ ۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ ٱلْأُمُورُ
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
يُكَذِّبُوكَ
yukadhibūka
they deny you
فَقَدْ
faqad
then certainly
كُذِّبَتْ
kudhibat
were denied
رُسُلٌ
rusulun
Messengers
مِّن
min
before you
قَبْلِكَ
qablika
before you
وَإِلَى
wa-ilā
And to
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
تُرْجَعُ
tur'jaʿu
return
ٱلْأُمُورُ
l-umūru
the matters
And if they deny you, [O Muḥammad] - already were messengers denied before you. And to Allāh are returned [all] matters.

35:5
Ayah 35:5
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ ۖ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْغَرُورُ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsu
mankind
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
وَعْدَ
waʿda
(the) promise
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
حَقٌّ
ḥaqqun
(is) true
فَلَا
falā
So (let) not
تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ
taghurrannakumu
deceive you
ٱلْحَيَوٰةُ
l-ḥayatu
the life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā
(of) the world
وَلَا
walā
and (let) not
يَغُرَّنَّكُم
yaghurrannakum
deceive you
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
about Allah
ٱلْغَرُورُ
l-gharūru
the Deceiver
O mankind, indeed the promise of Allāh is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allāh by the Deceiver [i.e., Satan].

35:6
Ayah 35:6
إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ فَٱتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّا ۚ إِنَّمَا يَدْعُوا۟ حِزْبَهُۥ لِيَكُونُوا۟ مِنْ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ
l-shayṭāna
the Shaitaan
لَكُمْ
lakum
(is) to you
عَدُوٌّ
ʿaduwwun
an enemy
فَٱتَّخِذُوهُ
fa-ittakhidhūhu
so take him
عَدُوًّا
ʿaduwwan
(as) an enemy
إِنَّمَا
innamā
Only
يَدْعُوا۟
yadʿū
he invites
حِزْبَهُۥ
ḥiz'bahu
his party
لِيَكُونُوا۟
liyakūnū
that they may be
مِنْ
min
among
أَصْحَـٰبِ
aṣḥābi
(the) companions
ٱلسَّعِيرِ
l-saʿīri
(of) the Blaze
Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze.

35:7
Ayah 35:7
ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ ۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
Those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieve
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
(will be) a punishment
شَدِيدٌ
shadīdun
severe
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
and those
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
who believe
وَعَمِلُوا۟
waʿamilū
and do
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ
l-ṣāliḥāti
righteous deeds
لَهُم
lahum
for them
مَّغْفِرَةٌ
maghfiratun
(will be) forgiveness
وَأَجْرٌ
wa-ajrun
and a reward
كَبِيرٌ
kabīrun
great
Those who disbelieve will have a severe punishment, and those who believe and do righteous deeds will have forgiveness and great reward.

35:8
Ayah 35:8
أَفَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُۥ سُوٓءُ عَمَلِهِۦ فَرَءَاهُ حَسَنًا ۖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ فَلَا تَذْهَبْ نَفْسُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَسَرَٰتٍ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌۢ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ
أَفَمَن
afaman
Then is (he) who
زُيِّنَ
zuyyina
is made fair-seeming
لَهُۥ
lahu
to him
سُوٓءُ
sūu
(the) evil
عَمَلِهِۦ
ʿamalihi
(of) his deed
فَرَءَاهُ
faraāhu
so that he sees it
حَسَنًا
ḥasanan
(as) good
فَإِنَّ
fa-inna
For indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
يُضِلُّ
yuḍillu
lets go astray
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashāu
He wills
وَيَهْدِى
wayahdī
and guides
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashāu
He wills
فَلَا
falā
So (let) not
تَذْهَبْ
tadhhab
go out
نَفْسُكَ
nafsuka
your soul
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
for them
حَسَرَٰتٍ
ḥasarātin
(in) regrets
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
عَلِيمٌۢ
ʿalīmun
(is) All-Knower
بِمَا
bimā
of what
يَصْنَعُونَ
yaṣnaʿūna
they do
Then is one to whom the evil of his deed has been made attractive so he considers it good [like one rightly guided]? For indeed, Allāh sends astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. So do not let yourself perish over them in regret. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing of what they do.

35:9
Ayah 35:9
وَٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَرْسَلَ ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ فَتُثِيرُ سَحَابًا فَسُقْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ بَلَدٍ مَّيِّتٍ فَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلنُّشُورُ
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhī
(is) the One Who
أَرْسَلَ
arsala
sends
ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ
l-riyāḥa
the winds
فَتُثِيرُ
fatuthīru
so that they raise
سَحَابًا
saḥāban
(the) clouds
فَسُقْنَـٰهُ
fasuq'nāhu
and We drive them
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
بَلَدٍ
baladin
a land
مَّيِّتٍ
mayyitin
dead
فَأَحْيَيْنَا
fa-aḥyaynā
and We revive
بِهِ
bihi
therewith
ٱلْأَرْضَ
l-arḍa
the earth
بَعْدَ
baʿda
after
مَوْتِهَا
mawtihā
its death
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālika
Thus
ٱلنُّشُورُ
l-nushūru
(will be) the Resurrection
And it is Allāh who sends the winds, and they stir the clouds, and We drive them to a dead land and give life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness. Thus is the resurrection.

35:10
Ayah 35:10
مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ٱلْعِزَّةَ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْعِزَّةُ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِلَيْهِ يَصْعَدُ ٱلْكَلِمُ ٱلطَّيِّبُ وَٱلْعَمَلُ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُ يَرْفَعُهُۥ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَمْكُرُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ ۖ وَمَكْرُ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُوَ يَبُورُ
مَن
man
Whoever
كَانَ
kāna
[is] desires
يُرِيدُ
yurīdu
[is] desires
ٱلْعِزَّةَ
l-ʿizata
the honor
فَلِلَّهِ
falillahi
then for Allah
ٱلْعِزَّةُ
l-ʿizatu
(is) the Honor
جَمِيعًا
jamīʿan
all
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhi
To Him
يَصْعَدُ
yaṣʿadu
ascends
ٱلْكَلِمُ
l-kalimu
the words
ٱلطَّيِّبُ
l-ṭayibu
good
وَٱلْعَمَلُ
wal-ʿamalu
and the deed
ٱلصَّـٰلِحُ
l-ṣāliḥu
righteous
يَرْفَعُهُۥ
yarfaʿuhu
raises it
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
But those who
يَمْكُرُونَ
yamkurūna
plot
ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ
l-sayiāti
the evil
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
(is) a punishment
شَدِيدٌ
shadīdun
severe
وَمَكْرُ
wamakru
and (the) plotting
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
(of) those
هُوَ
huwa
it
يَبُورُ
yabūru
(will) perish
Whoever desires honor [through power] - then to Allāh belongs all honor.1 To Him ascends good speech, and righteous work raises it.2 But they who plot evil deeds will have a severe punishment, and the plotting of those - it will perish.

35:11
Ayah 35:11
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ جَعَلَكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ۚ وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ أُنثَىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلْمِهِۦ ۚ وَمَا يُعَمَّرُ مِن مُّعَمَّرٍ وَلَا يُنقَصُ مِنْ عُمُرِهِۦٓ إِلَّا فِى كِتَـٰبٍ ۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٌ
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
خَلَقَكُم
khalaqakum
created you
مِّن
min
from
تُرَابٍ
turābin
dust
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
مِن
min
from
نُّطْفَةٍ
nuṭ'fatin
a semen-drop
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
جَعَلَكُمْ
jaʿalakum
He made you
أَزْوَٰجًا
azwājan
pairs
وَمَا
wamā
And not
تَحْمِلُ
taḥmilu
conceives
مِنْ
min
any
أُنثَىٰ
unthā
female
وَلَا
walā
and not
تَضَعُ
taḍaʿu
gives birth
إِلَّا
illā
except
بِعِلْمِهِۦ
biʿil'mihi
with His knowledge
وَمَا
wamā
And not
يُعَمَّرُ
yuʿammaru
is granted life
مِن
min
any
مُّعَمَّرٍ
muʿammarin
aged person
وَلَا
walā
and not
يُنقَصُ
yunqaṣu
is lessened
مِنْ
min
from
عُمُرِهِۦٓ
ʿumurihi
his life
إِلَّا
illā
but
فِى
(is) in
كِتَـٰبٍ
kitābin
a Register
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
عَلَى
ʿalā
for
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
يَسِيرٌ
yasīrun
(is) easy
And Allāh created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop; then He made you mates. And no female conceives nor does she give birth except with His knowledge. And no aged person is granted [additional] life nor is his lifespan lessened but that it is in a register. Indeed, that for Allāh is easy.

35:12
Ayah 35:12
وَمَا يَسْتَوِى ٱلْبَحْرَانِ هَـٰذَا عَذْبٌ فُرَاتٌ سَآئِغٌ شَرَابُهُۥ وَهَـٰذَا مِلْحٌ أُجَاجٌ ۖ وَمِن كُلٍّ تَأْكُلُونَ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا وَتَسْتَخْرِجُونَ حِلْيَةً تَلْبَسُونَهَا ۖ وَتَرَى ٱلْفُلْكَ فِيهِ مَوَاخِرَ لِتَبْتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
يَسْتَوِى
yastawī
are alike
ٱلْبَحْرَانِ
l-baḥrāni
the two seas
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
This
عَذْبٌ
ʿadhbun
(is) fresh
فُرَاتٌ
furātun
sweet
سَآئِغٌ
sāighun
pleasant
شَرَابُهُۥ
sharābuhu
its drink
وَهَـٰذَا
wahādhā
and this
مِلْحٌ
mil'ḥun
salty
أُجَاجٌ
ujājun
(and) bitter
وَمِن
wamin
And from
كُلٍّ
kullin
each
تَأْكُلُونَ
takulūna
you eat
لَحْمًا
laḥman
meat
طَرِيًّا
ṭariyyan
fresh
وَتَسْتَخْرِجُونَ
watastakhrijūna
and you extract
حِلْيَةً
ḥil'yatan
ornaments
تَلْبَسُونَهَا
talbasūnahā
you wear them
وَتَرَى
watarā
and you see
ٱلْفُلْكَ
l-ful'ka
the ships
فِيهِ
fīhi
in it
مَوَاخِرَ
mawākhira
cleaving
لِتَبْتَغُوا۟
litabtaghū
so that you may seek
مِن
min
of
فَضْلِهِۦ
faḍlihi
His Bounty
وَلَعَلَّكُمْ
walaʿallakum
and that you may
تَشْكُرُونَ
tashkurūna
be grateful
And not alike are the two seas [i.e., bodies of water]. One is fresh and sweet, palatable for drinking, and one is salty and bitter. And from each you eat tender meat and extract ornaments which you wear, and you see the ships plowing through [them] that you might seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.

35:13
Ayah 35:13
يُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِى لِأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ لَهُ ٱلْمُلْكُ ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِن قِطْمِيرٍ
يُولِجُ
yūliju
He causes to enter
ٱلَّيْلَ
al-layla
the night
فِى
in (to)
ٱلنَّهَارِ
l-nahāri
the day
وَيُولِجُ
wayūliju
and He causes to enter
ٱلنَّهَارَ
l-nahāra
the day
فِى
in (to)
ٱلَّيْلِ
al-layli
the night
وَسَخَّرَ
wasakhara
and He has subjected
ٱلشَّمْسَ
l-shamsa
the sun
وَٱلْقَمَرَ
wal-qamara
and the moon
كُلٌّ
kullun
each
يَجْرِى
yajrī
running
لِأَجَلٍ
li-ajalin
for a term
مُّسَمًّى
musamman
appointed
ذَٰلِكُمُ
dhālikumu
That (is)
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
رَبُّكُمْ
rabbukum
your Lord
لَهُ
lahu
for Him
ٱلْمُلْكُ
l-mul'ku
(is) the Dominion
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
And those whom
تَدْعُونَ
tadʿūna
you invoke
مِن
min
besides Him
دُونِهِۦ
dūnihi
besides Him
مَا
not
يَمْلِكُونَ
yamlikūna
they possess
مِن
min
even
قِطْمِيرٍ
qiṭ'mīrin
(as much as) the membrane of a date-seed
He causes the night to enter the day, and He causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon - each running [its course] for a specified term. That is Allāh, your Lord; to Him belongs sovereignty. And those whom you invoke other than Him do not possess [as much as] the membrane of a date seed.

35:14
Ayah 35:14
إِن تَدْعُوهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُوا۟ دُعَآءَكُمْ وَلَوْ سَمِعُوا۟ مَا ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟ لَكُمْ ۖ وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ يَكْفُرُونَ بِشِرْكِكُمْ ۚ وَلَا يُنَبِّئُكَ مِثْلُ خَبِيرٍ
إِن
in
If
تَدْعُوهُمْ
tadʿūhum
you invoke them
لَا
not
يَسْمَعُوا۟
yasmaʿū
they hear
دُعَآءَكُمْ
duʿāakum
your call
وَلَوْ
walaw
and if
سَمِعُوا۟
samiʿū
they heard
مَا
not
ٱسْتَجَابُوا۟
is'tajābū
they (would) respond
لَكُمْ
lakum
to you
وَيَوْمَ
wayawma
And (on the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
يَكْفُرُونَ
yakfurūna
they will deny
بِشِرْكِكُمْ
bishir'kikum
your association
وَلَا
walā
And none
يُنَبِّئُكَ
yunabbi-uka
can inform you
مِثْلُ
mith'lu
like
خَبِيرٍ
khabīrin
(the) All-Aware
If you invoke them, they do not hear your supplication; and if they heard, they would not respond to you. And on the Day of Resurrection they will deny your association.1 And none can inform you like [one] Aware [of all matters].

35:15
Ayah 35:15
۞ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ أَنتُمُ ٱلْفُقَرَآءُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ هُوَ ٱلْغَنِىُّ ٱلْحَمِيدُ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsu
mankind
أَنتُمُ
antumu
You
ٱلْفُقَرَآءُ
l-fuqarāu
(are) those in need
إِلَى
ilā
of
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
while Allah
هُوَ
huwa
He
ٱلْغَنِىُّ
l-ghaniyu
(is) Free of need
ٱلْحَمِيدُ
l-ḥamīdu
the Praiseworthy
O mankind, you are those in need of Allāh, while Allāh is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

35:16
Ayah 35:16
إِن يَشَأْ يُذْهِبْكُمْ وَيَأْتِ بِخَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ
إِن
in
If
يَشَأْ
yasha
He wills
يُذْهِبْكُمْ
yudh'hib'kum
He (can) do away with you
وَيَأْتِ
wayati
and bring
بِخَلْقٍ
bikhalqin
in a creation
جَدِيدٍ
jadīdin
new
If He wills, He can do away with you and bring forth a new creation.

35:17
Ayah 35:17
وَمَا ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ بِعَزِيزٍ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
that
عَلَى
ʿalā
(is) on
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
بِعَزِيزٍ
biʿazīzin
difficult
And that is for Allāh not difficult.

35:18
Ayah 35:18
وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ ۚ وَإِن تَدْعُ مُثْقَلَةٌ إِلَىٰ حِمْلِهَا لَا يُحْمَلْ مِنْهُ شَىْءٌ وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَا قُرْبَىٰٓ ۗ إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلْغَيْبِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ ۚ وَمَن تَزَكَّىٰ فَإِنَّمَا يَتَزَكَّىٰ لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
وَلَا
walā
And not
تَزِرُ
taziru
will bear
وَازِرَةٌ
wāziratun
bearer of burdens
وِزْرَ
wiz'ra
burden
أُخْرَىٰ
ukh'rā
(of) another
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
تَدْعُ
tadʿu
calls
مُثْقَلَةٌ
muth'qalatun
a heavily laden
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
حِمْلِهَا
ḥim'lihā
(carry) its load
لَا
not
يُحْمَلْ
yuḥ'mal
will be carried
مِنْهُ
min'hu
of it
شَىْءٌ
shayon
anything
وَلَوْ
walaw
even if
كَانَ
kāna
he be
ذَا
dhā
near of kin
قُرْبَىٰٓ
qur'bā
near of kin
إِنَّمَا
innamā
Only
تُنذِرُ
tundhiru
you can warn
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
يَخْشَوْنَ
yakhshawna
fear
رَبَّهُم
rabbahum
their Lord
بِٱلْغَيْبِ
bil-ghaybi
unseen
وَأَقَامُوا۟
wa-aqāmū
and establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
l-ṣalata
the prayer
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
تَزَكَّىٰ
tazakkā
purifies himself
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamā
then only
يَتَزَكَّىٰ
yatazakkā
he purifies
لِنَفْسِهِۦ
linafsihi
for his own self
وَإِلَى
wa-ilā
And to
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
ٱلْمَصِيرُ
l-maṣīru
(is) the destination
And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And if a heavily laden soul calls [another] to [carry some of] its load, nothing of it will be carried, even if he should be a close relative. You can only warn those who fear their Lord unseen and have established prayer. And whoever purifies himself only purifies himself for [the benefit of] his soul. And to Allāh is the [final] destination.

35:19
Ayah 35:19
وَمَا يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ وَٱلْبَصِيرُ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
يَسْتَوِى
yastawī
equal
ٱلْأَعْمَىٰ
l-aʿmā
(are) the blind
وَٱلْبَصِيرُ
wal-baṣīru
and the seeing
Not equal are the blind and the seeing,

35:20
Ayah 35:20
وَلَا ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتُ وَلَا ٱلنُّورُ
وَلَا
walā
And not
ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتُ
l-ẓulumātu
the darkness[es]
وَلَا
walā
and not
ٱلنُّورُ
l-nūru
[the] light
Nor are the darknesses and the light,

35:21
Ayah 35:21
وَلَا ٱلظِّلُّ وَلَا ٱلْحَرُورُ
وَلَا
walā
And not
ٱلظِّلُّ
l-ẓilu
the shade
وَلَا
walā
and not
ٱلْحَرُورُ
l-ḥarūru
the heat
Nor are the shade and the heat,1

35:22
Ayah 35:22
وَمَا يَسْتَوِى ٱلْأَحْيَآءُ وَلَا ٱلْأَمْوَٰتُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُسْمِعُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِمُسْمِعٍ مَّن فِى ٱلْقُبُورِ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
يَسْتَوِى
yastawī
equal
ٱلْأَحْيَآءُ
l-aḥyāu
(are) the living
وَلَا
walā
and not
ٱلْأَمْوَٰتُ
l-amwātu
the dead
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
يُسْمِعُ
yus'miʿu
causes to hear
مَن
man
whom
يَشَآءُ
yashāu
He wills
وَمَآ
wamā
and not
أَنتَ
anta
you
بِمُسْمِعٍ
bimus'miʿin
can make hear
مَّن
man
(those) who
فِى
(are) in
ٱلْقُبُورِ
l-qubūri
the graves
And not equal are the living and the dead. Indeed, Allāh causes to hear whom He wills, but you cannot make hear those in the graves.1

35:23
Ayah 35:23
إِنْ أَنتَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ
إِنْ
in
Not
أَنتَ
anta
you (are)
إِلَّا
illā
but
نَذِيرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
You, [O Muḥammad], are not but a warner.

35:24
Ayah 35:24
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا ۚ وَإِن مِّنْ أُمَّةٍ إِلَّا خَلَا فِيهَا نَذِيرٌ
إِنَّآ
innā
Indeed, We
أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ
arsalnāka
[We] have sent you
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqi
with the truth
بَشِيرًا
bashīran
(as) a bearer of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرًا
wanadhīran
and (as) a warner
وَإِن
wa-in
And not
مِّنْ
min
(was) any
أُمَّةٍ
ummatin
nation
إِلَّا
illā
but
خَلَا
khalā
had passed
فِيهَا
fīhā
within it
نَذِيرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And there was no nation but that there had passed within it a warner.

35:25
Ayah 35:25
وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ وَبِٱلزُّبُرِ وَبِٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُنِيرِ
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
يُكَذِّبُوكَ
yukadhibūka
they deny you
فَقَدْ
faqad
then certainly
كَذَّبَ
kadhaba
denied
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
مِن
min
(were) before them
قَبْلِهِمْ
qablihim
(were) before them
جَآءَتْهُمْ
jāathum
Came to them
رُسُلُهُم
rusuluhum
their Messengers
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ
bil-bayināti
with clear signs
وَبِٱلزُّبُرِ
wabil-zuburi
and with Scriptures
وَبِٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
wabil-kitābi
and with the Book
ٱلْمُنِيرِ
l-munīri
[the] enlightening
And if they deny you - then already have those before them denied. Their messengers came to them with clear proofs and written ordinances and with the enlightening Scripture.

35:26
Ayah 35:26
ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
أَخَذْتُ
akhadhtu
I seized
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieved
فَكَيْفَ
fakayfa
and how
كَانَ
kāna
was
نَكِيرِ
nakīri
My rejection
Then I seized the ones who disbelieved, and how [terrible] was My reproach.

35:27
Ayah 35:27
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِۦ ثَمَرَٰتٍ مُّخْتَلِفًا أَلْوَٰنُهَا ۚ وَمِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ جُدَدٌۢ بِيضٌ وَحُمْرٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَٰنُهَا وَغَرَابِيبُ سُودٌ
أَلَمْ
alam
Do not
تَرَ
tara
you see
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
أَنزَلَ
anzala
sends down
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāi
the sky
مَآءً
māan
water
فَأَخْرَجْنَا
fa-akhrajnā
then We bring forth
بِهِۦ
bihi
therewith
ثَمَرَٰتٍ
thamarātin
fruits
مُّخْتَلِفًا
mukh'talifan
(of) various
أَلْوَٰنُهَا
alwānuhā
[their] colors
وَمِنَ
wamina
And in
ٱلْجِبَالِ
l-jibāli
the mountains
جُدَدٌۢ
judadun
(are) tracts
بِيضٌ
bīḍun
white
وَحُمْرٌ
waḥum'run
and red
مُّخْتَلِفٌ
mukh'talifun
(of) various
أَلْوَٰنُهَا
alwānuhā
[their] colors
وَغَرَابِيبُ
wagharābību
and intensely black
سُودٌ
sūdun
and intensely black
Do you not see that Allāh sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby fruits of varying colors? And in the mountains are tracts, white and red of varying shades and [some] extremely black.

35:28
Ayah 35:28
وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱلدَّوَآبِّ وَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ مُخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَٰنُهُۥ كَذَٰلِكَ ۗ إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى ٱللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ٱلْعُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ غَفُورٌ
وَمِنَ
wamina
And among
ٱلنَّاسِ
l-nāsi
men
وَٱلدَّوَآبِّ
wal-dawābi
and moving creatures
وَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ
wal-anʿāmi
and the cattle
مُخْتَلِفٌ
mukh'talifun
(are) various
أَلْوَٰنُهُۥ
alwānuhu
[their] colors
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālika
likewise
إِنَّمَا
innamā
Only
يَخْشَى
yakhshā
fear
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
مِنْ
min
among
عِبَادِهِ
ʿibādihi
His slaves
ٱلْعُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟
l-ʿulamāu
those who have knowledge
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
عَزِيزٌ
ʿazīzun
(is) All-Mighty
غَفُورٌ
ghafūrun
Oft-Forgiving
And among people and moving creatures and grazing livestock are various colors similarly. Only those fear Allāh, from among His servants, who have knowledge. Indeed, Allāh is Exalted in Might and Forgiving.

35:29
Ayah 35:29
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتْلُونَ كِتَـٰبَ ٱللَّهِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَأَنفَقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً يَرْجُونَ تِجَـٰرَةً لَّن تَبُورَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
يَتْلُونَ
yatlūna
recite
كِتَـٰبَ
kitāba
(the) Book
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَأَقَامُوا۟
wa-aqāmū
and establish
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
l-ṣalata
the prayer
وَأَنفَقُوا۟
wa-anfaqū
and spend
مِمَّا
mimmā
out of what
رَزَقْنَـٰهُمْ
razaqnāhum
We have provided them
سِرًّا
sirran
secretly
وَعَلَانِيَةً
waʿalāniyatan
and openly
يَرْجُونَ
yarjūna
hope
تِجَـٰرَةً
tijāratan
(for) a commerce
لَّن
lan
never
تَبُورَ
tabūra
it will perish
Indeed, those who recite the Book of Allāh and establish prayer and spend [in His cause] out of what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, [can] expect a transaction [i.e., profit] that will never perish -

35:30
Ayah 35:30
لِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَيَزِيدَهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ غَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ
لِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ
liyuwaffiyahum
That He may give them in full
أُجُورَهُمْ
ujūrahum
their rewards
وَيَزِيدَهُم
wayazīdahum
and increase for them
مِّن
min
of
فَضْلِهِۦٓ
faḍlihi
His Bounty
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
غَفُورٌ
ghafūrun
(is) Oft-Forgiving
شَكُورٌ
shakūrun
Most Appreciative
That He may give them in full their rewards and increase for them of His bounty. Indeed, He is Forgiving and Appreciative.1

35:31
Ayah 35:31
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَيْكَ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ هُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ لَخَبِيرٌۢ بَصِيرٌ
وَٱلَّذِىٓ
wa-alladhī
And (that) which
أَوْحَيْنَآ
awḥaynā
We have revealed
إِلَيْكَ
ilayka
to you
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābi
the Book
هُوَ
huwa
it
ٱلْحَقُّ
l-ḥaqu
(is) the truth
مُصَدِّقًا
muṣaddiqan
confirming
لِّمَا
limā
what (was)
بَيْنَ
bayna
before it
يَدَيْهِ
yadayhi
before it
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
بِعِبَادِهِۦ
biʿibādihi
of His slaves
لَخَبِيرٌۢ
lakhabīrun
surely, (is) All-Aware
بَصِيرٌ
baṣīrun
All-Seer
And that which We have revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], of the Book is the truth, confirming what was before it. Indeed Allāh, of His servants, is Aware and Seeing.

35:32
Ayah 35:32
ثُمَّ أَوْرَثْنَا ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱصْطَفَيْنَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ۖ فَمِنْهُمْ ظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ وَمِنْهُم مُّقْتَصِدٌ وَمِنْهُمْ سَابِقٌۢ بِٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَضْلُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
أَوْرَثْنَا
awrathnā
We caused to inherit
ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ
l-kitāba
the Book
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those whom
ٱصْطَفَيْنَا
iṣ'ṭafaynā
We have chosen
مِنْ
min
of
عِبَادِنَا
ʿibādinā
Our slaves
فَمِنْهُمْ
famin'hum
and among them
ظَالِمٌ
ẓālimun
(is he) who wrongs
لِّنَفْسِهِۦ
linafsihi
himself
وَمِنْهُم
wamin'hum
and among them
مُّقْتَصِدٌ
muq'taṣidun
(is he who is) moderate
وَمِنْهُمْ
wamin'hum
and among them
سَابِقٌۢ
sābiqun
(is he who is) foremost
بِٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ
bil-khayrāti
in good deeds
بِإِذْنِ
bi-idh'ni
by permission
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
That
هُوَ
huwa
is
ٱلْفَضْلُ
l-faḍlu
the Bounty
ٱلْكَبِيرُ
l-kabīru
the great
Then We caused to inherit the Book those We have chosen of Our servants;1 and among them is he who wrongs himself [i.e., sins], and among them is he who is moderate, and among them is he who is foremost in good deeds by permission of Allāh. That [inheritance] is what is the great bounty.

35:33
Ayah 35:33
جَنَّـٰتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا يُحَلَّوْنَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَسَاوِرَ مِن ذَهَبٍ وَلُؤْلُؤًا ۖ وَلِبَاسُهُمْ فِيهَا حَرِيرٌ
جَنَّـٰتُ
jannātu
Gardens
عَدْنٍ
ʿadnin
(of) Eternity
يَدْخُلُونَهَا
yadkhulūnahā
they will enter them
يُحَلَّوْنَ
yuḥallawna
They will be adorned
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
مِنْ
min
with
أَسَاوِرَ
asāwira
bracelets
مِن
min
of
ذَهَبٍ
dhahabin
gold
وَلُؤْلُؤًا
walu'lu-an
and pearls
وَلِبَاسُهُمْ
walibāsuhum
and their garments
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
حَرِيرٌ
ḥarīrun
(will be of) silk
[For them are] gardens of perpetual residence which they will enter. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and pearls, and their garments therein will be silk.

35:34
Ayah 35:34
وَقَالُوا۟ ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَذْهَبَ عَنَّا ٱلْحَزَنَ ۖ إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ
وَقَالُوا۟
waqālū
And they (will) say
ٱلْحَمْدُ
l-ḥamdu
All praises
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
(be) to Allah
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhī
the One Who
أَذْهَبَ
adhhaba
(has) removed
عَنَّا
ʿannā
from us
ٱلْحَزَنَ
l-ḥazana
the sorrow
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبَّنَا
rabbanā
our Lord
لَغَفُورٌ
laghafūrun
(is) surely Oft-Forgiving
شَكُورٌ
shakūrun
Most Appreciative
And they will say, "Praise to Allāh, who has removed from us [all] sorrow. Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving and Appreciative -

35:35
Ayah 35:35
ٱلَّذِىٓ أَحَلَّنَا دَارَ ٱلْمُقَامَةِ مِن فَضْلِهِۦ لَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَلَا يَمَسُّنَا فِيهَا لُغُوبٌ
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhī
The One Who
أَحَلَّنَا
aḥallanā
has settled us
دَارَ
dāra
(in) a Home
ٱلْمُقَامَةِ
l-muqāmati
(of) Eternity
مِن
min
(out) of
فَضْلِهِۦ
faḍlihi
His Bounty
لَا
Not
يَمَسُّنَا
yamassunā
touches us
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
نَصَبٌ
naṣabun
any fatigue
وَلَا
walā
and not
يَمَسُّنَا
yamassunā
touches
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
لُغُوبٌ
lughūbun
weariness
He who has settled us in the home of duration [i.e., Paradise] out of His bounty. There touches us not in it any fatigue, and there touches us not in it weariness [of mind]."

35:36
Ayah 35:36
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَهُمْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يُقْضَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ فَيَمُوتُوا۟ وَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُم مِّنْ عَذَابِهَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى كُلَّ كَفُورٍ
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
And those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieve
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
نَارُ
nāru
(will be the) Fire
جَهَنَّمَ
jahannama
(of) Hell
لَا
Not
يُقْضَىٰ
yuq'ḍā
is decreed
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
for them
فَيَمُوتُوا۟
fayamūtū
that they die
وَلَا
walā
and not
يُخَفَّفُ
yukhaffafu
will be lightened
عَنْهُم
ʿanhum
for them
مِّنْ
min
of
عَذَابِهَا
ʿadhābihā
its torment
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālika
Thus
نَجْزِى
najzī
We recompense
كُلَّ
kulla
every
كَفُورٍ
kafūrin
ungrateful one
And for those who disbelieve will be the fire of Hell. [Death] is not decreed for them1 so they may die, nor will its torment be lightened for them. Thus do We recompense every ungrateful one.

35:37
Ayah 35:37
وَهُمْ يَصْطَرِخُونَ فِيهَا رَبَّنَآ أَخْرِجْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَـٰلِحًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ ۚ أَوَلَمْ نُعَمِّرْكُم مَّا يَتَذَكَّرُ فِيهِ مَن تَذَكَّرَ وَجَآءَكُمُ ٱلنَّذِيرُ ۖ فَذُوقُوا۟ فَمَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٍ
وَهُمْ
wahum
And they
يَصْطَرِخُونَ
yaṣṭarikhūna
will cry
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
رَبَّنَآ
rabbanā
Our Lord
أَخْرِجْنَا
akhrij'nā
Bring us out
نَعْمَلْ
naʿmal
we will do
صَـٰلِحًا
ṣāliḥan
righteous (deeds)
غَيْرَ
ghayra
other than
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
(that) which
كُنَّا
kunnā
we used
نَعْمَلُ
naʿmalu
(to) do
أَوَلَمْ
awalam
Did not
نُعَمِّرْكُم
nuʿammir'kum
We give you life long enough
مَّا
that
يَتَذَكَّرُ
yatadhakkaru
(would) receive admonition
فِيهِ
fīhi
therein
مَن
man
whoever
تَذَكَّرَ
tadhakkara
receives admonition
وَجَآءَكُمُ
wajāakumu
And came to you
ٱلنَّذِيرُ
l-nadhīru
the warner
فَذُوقُوا۟
fadhūqū
So taste
فَمَا
famā
then not
لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
lilẓẓālimīna
(is) for the wrongdoers
مِن
min
any
نَّصِيرٍ
naṣīrin
helper
And they will cry out therein, "Our Lord, remove us;1 we will do righteousness - other than what we were doing!" But did We not grant you life enough for whoever would remember therein to remember, and the warner had come to you? So taste [the punishment], for there is not for the wrongdoers any helper.

35:38
Ayah 35:38
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَـٰلِمُ غَيْبِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمٌۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
عَـٰلِمُ
ʿālimu
(is the) Knower
غَيْبِ
ghaybi
(of the) unseen
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
عَلِيمٌۢ
ʿalīmun
(is the) All-Knower
بِذَاتِ
bidhāti
of what (is) in the breasts
ٱلصُّدُورِ
l-ṣudūri
of what (is) in the breasts
Indeed, Allāh is Knower of the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and earth. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

35:39
Ayah 35:39
هُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَـٰٓئِفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ فَمَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيْهِ كُفْرُهُۥ ۖ وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا مَقْتًا ۖ وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ كُفْرُهُمْ إِلَّا خَسَارًا
هُوَ
huwa
He
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
(is) the One Who
جَعَلَكُمْ
jaʿalakum
made you
خَلَـٰٓئِفَ
khalāifa
successors
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
فَمَن
faman
And whoever
كَفَرَ
kafara
disbelieves
فَعَلَيْهِ
faʿalayhi
then upon him
كُفْرُهُۥ
kuf'ruhu
(is) his disbelief
وَلَا
walā
And not
يَزِيدُ
yazīdu
increase
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīna
the disbelievers
كُفْرُهُمْ
kuf'ruhum
their disbelief
عِندَ
ʿinda
near
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
their Lord
إِلَّا
illā
except
مَقْتًا
maqtan
(in) hatred
وَلَا
walā
and not
يَزِيدُ
yazīdu
increase
ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīna
the disbelievers
كُفْرُهُمْ
kuf'ruhum
their disbelief
إِلَّا
illā
except
خَسَارًا
khasāran
(in) loss
It is He who has made you successors upon the earth. And whoever disbelieves - upon him will be [the consequence of] his disbelief. And the disbelief of the disbelievers does not increase them in the sight of their Lord except in hatred; and the disbelief of the disbelievers does not increase them except in loss.

35:40
Ayah 35:40
قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ شُرَكَآءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِى مَاذَا خَلَقُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ أَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ أَمْ ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ كِتَـٰبًا فَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَتٍ مِّنْهُ ۚ بَلْ إِن يَعِدُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ بَعْضُهُم بَعْضًا إِلَّا غُرُورًا
قُلْ
qul
Say
أَرَءَيْتُمْ
ara-aytum
Have you seen
شُرَكَآءَكُمُ
shurakāakumu
your partners
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those whom
تَدْعُونَ
tadʿūna
you call
مِن
min
besides
دُونِ
dūni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
أَرُونِى
arūnī
Show Me
مَاذَا
mādhā
what
خَلَقُوا۟
khalaqū
they have created
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
أَمْ
am
or
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
شِرْكٌ
shir'kun
(is) a share
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
أَمْ
am
Or
ءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمْ
ātaynāhum
have We given them
كِتَـٰبًا
kitāban
a Book
فَهُمْ
fahum
so they
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
(are) on
بَيِّنَتٍ
bayyinatin
a clear proof
مِّنْهُ
min'hu
therefrom
بَلْ
bal
Nay
إِن
in
not
يَعِدُ
yaʿidu
promise
ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
l-ẓālimūna
the wrongdoers
بَعْضُهُم
baʿḍuhum
some of them
بَعْضًا
baʿḍan
(to) others
إِلَّا
illā
except
غُرُورًا
ghurūran
delusion
Say, "Have you considered1 your 'partners' whom you invoke besides Allāh? Show me what they have created from the earth, or have they partnership [with Him] in the heavens? Or have We given them a book so they are [standing] on evidence therefrom? [No], rather, the wrongdoers do not promise each other except delusion."2

35:41
Ayah 35:41
۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُمْسِكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ أَن تَزُولَا ۚ وَلَئِن زَالَتَآ إِنْ أَمْسَكَهُمَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حَلِيمًا غَفُورًا
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
يُمْسِكُ
yum'siku
upholds
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
أَن
an
lest
تَزُولَا
tazūlā
they cease
وَلَئِن
wala-in
And if
زَالَتَآ
zālatā
they should cease
إِنْ
in
not
أَمْسَكَهُمَا
amsakahumā
can uphold them
مِنْ
min
any
أَحَدٍ
aḥadin
one
مِّنۢ
min
after Him
بَعْدِهِۦٓ
baʿdihi
after Him
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
كَانَ
kāna
is
حَلِيمًا
ḥalīman
Most Forbearing
غَفُورًا
ghafūran
Oft-Forgiving
Indeed, Allāh holds the heavens and the earth, lest they cease. And if they should cease, no one could hold them [in place] after Him. Indeed, He is Forbearing1 and Forgiving.

35:42
Ayah 35:42
وَأَقْسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ جَهْدَ أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ لَئِن جَآءَهُمْ نَذِيرٌ لَّيَكُونُنَّ أَهْدَىٰ مِنْ إِحْدَى ٱلْأُمَمِ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ نَذِيرٌ مَّا زَادَهُمْ إِلَّا نُفُورًا
وَأَقْسَمُوا۟
wa-aqsamū
And they swore
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
by Allah
جَهْدَ
jahda
(the) strongest
أَيْمَـٰنِهِمْ
aymānihim
(of) their oaths
لَئِن
la-in
that if
جَآءَهُمْ
jāahum
came to them
نَذِيرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
لَّيَكُونُنَّ
layakūnunna
surely, they would be
أَهْدَىٰ
ahdā
more guided
مِنْ
min
than
إِحْدَى
iḥ'dā
any
ٱلْأُمَمِ
l-umami
(of) the nations
فَلَمَّا
falammā
But when
جَآءَهُمْ
jāahum
came to them
نَذِيرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
مَّا
not
زَادَهُمْ
zādahum
it increased them
إِلَّا
illā
but
نُفُورًا
nufūran
(in) aversion
And they swore by Allāh their strongest oaths that if a warner came to them, they would be more guided than [any] one of the [previous] nations. But when a warner came to them, it did not increase them except in aversion

35:43
Ayah 35:43
ٱسْتِكْبَارًا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَكْرَ ٱلسَّيِّئِ ۚ وَلَا يَحِيقُ ٱلْمَكْرُ ٱلسَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِۦ ۚ فَهَلْ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا سُنَّتَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ۚ فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَبْدِيلًا ۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَحْوِيلًا
ٱسْتِكْبَارًا
is'tik'bāran
(Due to) arrogance
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the land
وَمَكْرَ
wamakra
and plotting
ٱلسَّيِّئِ
l-sayi-i
(of) the evil
وَلَا
walā
but not
يَحِيقُ
yaḥīqu
encompasses
ٱلْمَكْرُ
l-makru
the plot
ٱلسَّيِّئُ
l-sayi-u
(of) the evil
إِلَّا
illā
except
بِأَهْلِهِۦ
bi-ahlihi
its own people
فَهَلْ
fahal
Then do
يَنظُرُونَ
yanẓurūna
they wait
إِلَّا
illā
except
سُنَّتَ
sunnata
(the) way
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
l-awalīna
(of) the former (people)
فَلَن
falan
But never
تَجِدَ
tajida
you will find
لِسُنَّتِ
lisunnati
in (the) way
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
تَبْدِيلًا
tabdīlan
any change
وَلَن
walan
and never
تَجِدَ
tajida
you will find
لِسُنَّتِ
lisunnati
in (the) way
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
تَحْوِيلًا
taḥwīlan
any alteration
[Due to] arrogance in the land and plotting of evil; but the evil plot does not encompass except its own people. Then do they await except the way [i.e., fate] of the former peoples? But you will never find in the way [i.e., established method] of Allāh any change, and you will never find in the way of Allāh1 any alteration.2

35:44
Ayah 35:44
أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَكَانُوٓا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً ۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُعْجِزَهُۥ مِن شَىْءٍ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَلِيمًا قَدِيرًا
أَوَلَمْ
awalam
Have they not
يَسِيرُوا۟
yasīrū
traveled
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the land
فَيَنظُرُوا۟
fayanẓurū
and seen
كَيْفَ
kayfa
how
كَانَ
kāna
was
عَـٰقِبَةُ
ʿāqibatu
(the) end
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(of) those who
مِن
min
(were) before them
قَبْلِهِمْ
qablihim
(were) before them
وَكَانُوٓا۟
wakānū
And they were
أَشَدَّ
ashadda
stronger
مِنْهُمْ
min'hum
than them
قُوَّةً
quwwatan
(in) power
وَمَا
wamā
But not
كَانَ
kāna
is
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah
لِيُعْجِزَهُۥ
liyuʿ'jizahu
that can escape (from) Him
مِن
min
any
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَلَا
walā
and not
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
كَانَ
kāna
is
عَلِيمًا
ʿalīman
All-Knower
قَدِيرًا
qadīran
All-Powerful
Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? And they were greater than them in power. But Allāh is not to be caused failure [i.e., prevented] by anything in the heavens or on the earth. Indeed, He is ever Knowing and Competent.

35:45
Ayah 35:45
وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّاسَ بِمَا كَسَبُوا۟ مَا تَرَكَ عَلَىٰ ظَهْرِهَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَلَـٰكِن يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ أَجَلُهُمْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِعِبَادِهِۦ بَصِيرًۢا
وَلَوْ
walaw
And if
يُؤَاخِذُ
yuākhidhu
Allah (were to) punish
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah (were to) punish
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsa
the people
بِمَا
bimā
for what
كَسَبُوا۟
kasabū
they have earned
مَا
not
تَرَكَ
taraka
He would leave
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
on
ظَهْرِهَا
ẓahrihā
its back
مِن
min
any
دَآبَّةٍ
dābbatin
creature
وَلَـٰكِن
walākin
But
يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ
yu-akhiruhum
He gives them respite
إِلَىٰٓ
ilā
till
أَجَلٍ
ajalin
a term
مُّسَمًّى
musamman
appointed
فَإِذَا
fa-idhā
And when
جَآءَ
jāa
comes
أَجَلُهُمْ
ajaluhum
their term
فَإِنَّ
fa-inna
then indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
كَانَ
kāna
is
بِعِبَادِهِۦ
biʿibādihi
of His slaves
بَصِيرًۢا
baṣīran
All-Seer
And if Allāh were to impose blame on the people for what they have earned, He would not leave upon it [i.e., the earth] any creature. But He defers them for a specified term. And when their time comes, then indeed Allāh has ever been, of His servants, Seeing.
