Ayah 44:2
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
wal-kitābi
By the Book
ٱلْمُبِينِ
l-mubīni
the clear
By the clear Book,
— The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab
44:3
Ayah 44:3
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
إِنَّآ
innā
Indeed, We
أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ
anzalnāhu
revealed it
فِى
in
لَيْلَةٍ
laylatin
a Night
مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ
mubārakatin
Blessed
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, We
كُنَّا
kunnā
[We] are
مُنذِرِينَ
mundhirīna
(ever) warning
Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night.1 Indeed, We were to warn [mankind].

44:4
Ayah 44:4
فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
فِيهَا
fīhā
Therein
يُفْرَقُ
yuf'raqu
is made distinct
كُلُّ
kullu
every
أَمْرٍ
amrin
affair
حَكِيمٍ
ḥakīmin
wise
Therein [i.e., on that night] is made distinct1 every precise matter -

44:5
Ayah 44:5
أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
أَمْرًا
amran
A command
مِّنْ
min
from
عِندِنَآ
ʿindinā
Us
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, We
كُنَّا
kunnā
[We] are
مُرْسِلِينَ
mur'silīna
(ever) sending
[Every] matter [proceeding] from Us. Indeed, We were to send [a messenger]

44:6
Ayah 44:6
رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
رَحْمَةً
raḥmatan
As Mercy
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّكَ
rabbika
your Lord
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
هُوَ
huwa
[He]
ٱلسَّمِيعُ
l-samīʿu
(is) the All-Hearer
ٱلْعَلِيمُ
l-ʿalīmu
the All-Knower
As mercy from your Lord. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing,

44:7
Ayah 44:7
رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
رَبِّ
rabbi
Lord
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
(of) the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضِ
wal-arḍi
and the earth
وَمَا
wamā
and whatever
بَيْنَهُمَآ
baynahumā
(is) between both of them
إِن
in
if
كُنتُم
kuntum
you are
مُّوقِنِينَ
mūqinīna
certain
Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them, if you would be certain.

44:8
Ayah 44:8
لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
لَآ
(There is) no
إِلَـٰهَ
ilāha
god
إِلَّا
illā
except
هُوَ
huwa
Him
يُحْىِۦ
yuḥ'yī
He gives life
وَيُمِيتُ
wayumītu
and causes death
رَبُّكُمْ
rabbukum
your Lord
وَرَبُّ
warabbu
and (the) Lord
ءَابَآئِكُمُ
ābāikumu
(of) your fathers
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
l-awalīna
the former
There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death. [He is] your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers.

44:9
Ayah 44:9
بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ
بَلْ
bal
Nay
هُمْ
hum
they
فِى
(are) in
شَكٍّ
shakkin
doubt
يَلْعَبُونَ
yalʿabūna
playing
But they are in doubt, amusing themselves.

44:10
Ayah 44:10
فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
فَٱرْتَقِبْ
fa-ir'taqib
Then watch
يَوْمَ
yawma
(for the) Day
تَأْتِى
tatī
(when) will bring
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
l-samāu
the sky
بِدُخَانٍ
bidukhānin
smoke
مُّبِينٍ
mubīnin
visible
Then watch for the Day when the sky will bring a visible smoke

44:11
Ayah 44:11
يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ هَـٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
يَغْشَى
yaghshā
Enveloping
ٱلنَّاسَ
l-nāsa
the people
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
This
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
(will be) a punishment
أَلِيمٌ
alīmun
painful
Covering the people; this is a painful torment.

44:12
Ayah 44:12
رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
رَّبَّنَا
rabbanā
Our Lord
ٱكْشِفْ
ik'shif
Remove
عَنَّا
ʿannā
from us
ٱلْعَذَابَ
l-ʿadhāba
the punishment
إِنَّا
innā
indeed, we
مُؤْمِنُونَ
mu'minūna
(are) believers
[They will say], "Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed, we are believers."

44:13
Ayah 44:13
أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
أَنَّىٰ
annā
How can
لَهُمُ
lahumu
(there be) for them
ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ
l-dhik'rā
the reminder
وَقَدْ
waqad
when verily
جَآءَهُمْ
jāahum
had come to them
رَسُولٌ
rasūlun
a Messenger
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnun
clear
How will there be for them a reminder [at that time]? And there had come to them a clear Messenger.

44:14
Ayah 44:14
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
تَوَلَّوْا۟
tawallaw
they turned away
عَنْهُ
ʿanhu
from him
وَقَالُوا۟
waqālū
and said
مُعَلَّمٌ
muʿallamun
One taught
مَّجْنُونٌ
majnūnun
a mad man
Then they turned away from him and said, "[He was] taught [and is] a madman."

44:15
Ayah 44:15
إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, We
كَاشِفُوا۟
kāshifū
(will) remove
ٱلْعَذَابِ
l-ʿadhābi
the punishment
قَلِيلًا
qalīlan
a little
إِنَّكُمْ
innakum
indeed, you
عَآئِدُونَ
ʿāidūna
(will) return
Indeed, We will remove the torment for a little. Indeed, you [disbelievers] will return [to disbelief].

44:16
Ayah 44:16
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
يَوْمَ
yawma
(The) Day
نَبْطِشُ
nabṭishu
We will seize
ٱلْبَطْشَةَ
l-baṭshata
(with) the seizure
ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ
l-kub'rā
the greatest
إِنَّا
innā
indeed, We
مُنتَقِمُونَ
muntaqimūna
(will) take retribution
The Day We will strike with the greatest assault, indeed, We will take retribution.

44:17
Ayah 44:17
۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And certainly
فَتَنَّا
fatannā
We tried
قَبْلَهُمْ
qablahum
before them
قَوْمَ
qawma
(the) people
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna
(of) Firaun
وَجَآءَهُمْ
wajāahum
and came to them
رَسُولٌ
rasūlun
a Messenger
كَرِيمٌ
karīmun
noble
And We had already tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble messenger [i.e., Moses],

44:18
Ayah 44:18
أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
أَنْ
an
That
أَدُّوٓا۟
addū
Deliver
إِلَىَّ
ilayya
to me
عِبَادَ
ʿibāda
(the) servants
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed, I am
لَكُمْ
lakum
to you
رَسُولٌ
rasūlun
a Messenger
أَمِينٌ
amīnun
trustworthy
[Saying], "Render to me the servants of Allāh.1 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger,"

44:19
Ayah 44:19
وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
وَأَن
wa-an
And that
لَّا
(do) not
تَعْلُوا۟
taʿlū
exalt yourselves
عَلَى
ʿalā
against
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed, I
ءَاتِيكُم
ātīkum
[I] have come to you
بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ
bisul'ṭānin
with an authority
مُّبِينٍ
mubīnin
clear
And [saying], "Be not haughty with Allāh. Indeed, I have come to you with clear evidence.

44:20
Ayah 44:20
وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
وَإِنِّى
wa-innī
And indeed, I
عُذْتُ
ʿudh'tu
[I] seek refuge
بِرَبِّى
birabbī
with my Lord
وَرَبِّكُمْ
warabbikum
and your Lord
أَن
an
lest
تَرْجُمُونِ
tarjumūni
you stone me
And indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me.1

44:21
Ayah 44:21
وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ
وَإِن
wa-in
And if
لَّمْ
lam
not
تُؤْمِنُوا۟
tu'minū
you believe
لِى
me
فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ
fa-iʿ'tazilūni
then leave me alone
But if you do not believe me, then leave me alone."

44:22
Ayah 44:22
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ
فَدَعَا
fadaʿā
So he called
رَبَّهُۥٓ
rabbahu
his Lord
أَنَّ
anna
That
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāi
these
قَوْمٌ
qawmun
(are) a people
مُّجْرِمُونَ
muj'rimūna
criminals
And [finally] he called to his Lord that these were a criminal people.

44:23
Ayah 44:23
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
فَأَسْرِ
fa-asri
Then "Set out
بِعِبَادِى
biʿibādī
with My slaves
لَيْلًا
laylan
(by) night
إِنَّكُم
innakum
Indeed, you
مُّتَّبَعُونَ
muttabaʿūna
(will be) followed
[Allāh said], "Then set out with My servants by night. Indeed, you are to be pursued.

44:24
Ayah 44:24
وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ
وَٱتْرُكِ
wa-ut'ruki
And leave
ٱلْبَحْرَ
l-baḥra
the sea
رَهْوًا
rahwan
at rest
إِنَّهُمْ
innahum
Indeed, they
جُندٌ
jundun
(are) an army
مُّغْرَقُونَ
mugh'raqūna
(to be) drowned
And leave the sea in stillness.1 Indeed, they are an army to be drowned."

44:25
Ayah 44:25
كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
كَمْ
kam
How many
تَرَكُوا۟
tarakū
(did) they leave
مِن
min
of
جَنَّـٰتٍ
jannātin
gardens
وَعُيُونٍ
waʿuyūnin
and springs
How much they left behind of gardens and springs

44:26
Ayah 44:26
وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
وَزُرُوعٍ
wazurūʿin
And cornfields
وَمَقَامٍ
wamaqāmin
and places
كَرِيمٍ
karīmin
noble
And crops and noble sites

44:27
Ayah 44:27
وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَـٰكِهِينَ
وَنَعْمَةٍ
wanaʿmatin
And pleasant things
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used to
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
فَـٰكِهِينَ
fākihīna
take delight
And comfort wherein they were amused.

44:28
Ayah 44:28
كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālika
Thus
وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا
wa-awrathnāhā
And We made it (an) inherit(ance)
قَوْمًا
qawman
(for) a people
ءَاخَرِينَ
ākharīna
another
Thus. And We caused to inherit it another people.

44:29
Ayah 44:29
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ
فَمَا
famā
And not
بَكَتْ
bakat
wept
عَلَيْهِمُ
ʿalayhimu
for them
ٱلسَّمَآءُ
l-samāu
the heaven
وَٱلْأَرْضُ
wal-arḍu
and the earth
وَمَا
wamā
and not
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they were
مُنظَرِينَ
munẓarīna
given respite
And the heaven and earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved.

44:30
Ayah 44:30
وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And certainly
نَجَّيْنَا
najjaynā
We saved
بَنِىٓ
banī
(the) Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla
(the) Children of Israel
مِنَ
mina
from
ٱلْعَذَابِ
l-ʿadhābi
the punishment
ٱلْمُهِينِ
l-muhīni
the humiliating
And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment -

44:31
Ayah 44:31
مِن فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
مِن
min
From
فِرْعَوْنَ
fir'ʿawna
Firaun
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, he
كَانَ
kāna
was
عَالِيًا
ʿāliyan
arrogant
مِّنَ
mina
among
ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
l-mus'rifīna
the transgressors
From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors.

44:32
Ayah 44:32
وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَلَقَدِ
walaqadi
And certainly
ٱخْتَرْنَـٰهُمْ
ikh'tarnāhum
We chose them
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
by
عِلْمٍ
ʿil'min
knowledge
عَلَى
ʿalā
over
ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīna
the worlds
And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds.

44:33
Ayah 44:33
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَـٰٓؤٌا۟ مُّبِينٌ
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم
waātaynāhum
And We gave them
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ
l-āyāti
the Signs
مَا
that
فِيهِ
fīhi
in it
بَلَـٰٓؤٌا۟
balāon
(was) a trial
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnun
clear
And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial.

44:34
Ayah 44:34
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ
hāulāi
these
لَيَقُولُونَ
layaqūlūna
surely, they say
Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying,
— The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab
44:35
Ayah 44:35
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
إِنْ
in
Not
هِىَ
hiya
it
إِلَّا
illā
(is) but
مَوْتَتُنَا
mawtatunā
our death
ٱلْأُولَىٰ
l-ūlā
the first
وَمَا
wamā
and not
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
we
بِمُنشَرِينَ
bimunsharīna
(will be) raised again
"There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected.

44:36
Ayah 44:36
فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
فَأْتُوا۟
fatū
Then bring
بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ
biābāinā
our forefathers
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīna
truthful
Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."

44:37
Ayah 44:37
أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
أَهُمْ
ahum
Are they
خَيْرٌ
khayrun
better
أَمْ
am
or
قَوْمُ
qawmu
(the) people
تُبَّعٍ
tubbaʿin
(of) Tubba
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
and those
مِن
min
before them
قَبْلِهِمْ
qablihim
before them
أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ
ahlaknāhum
We destroyed them
إِنَّهُمْ
innahum
indeed, they
كَانُوا۟
kānū
were
مُجْرِمِينَ
muj'rimīna
criminals
Are they better or the people of Tubbaʿ1 and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals.

44:38
Ayah 44:38
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِينَ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
خَلَقْنَا
khalaqnā
We created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
وَمَا
wamā
and whatever
بَيْنَهُمَا
baynahumā
(is) between them
لَـٰعِبِينَ
lāʿibīna
(in) play
And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play.

44:39
Ayah 44:39
مَا خَلَقْنَـٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
مَا
Not
خَلَقْنَـٰهُمَآ
khalaqnāhumā
We created both of them
إِلَّا
illā
but
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqi
in [the] truth
وَلَـٰكِنَّ
walākinna
but
أَكْثَرَهُمْ
aktharahum
most of them
لَا
(do) not
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūna
know
We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know.

44:40
Ayah 44:40
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَـٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
يَوْمَ
yawma
(the) Day of Judgment
ٱلْفَصْلِ
l-faṣli
(the) Day of Judgment
مِيقَـٰتُهُمْ
mīqātuhum
(is) an appointed term for them
أَجْمَعِينَ
ajmaʿīna
all
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all -

44:41
Ayah 44:41
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
يَوْمَ
yawma
(The) Day
لَا
not
يُغْنِى
yugh'nī
will avail
مَوْلًى
mawlan
a relation
عَن
ʿan
for
مَّوْلًى
mawlan
a relation
شَيْـًٔا
shayan
anything
وَلَا
walā
and not
هُمْ
hum
they
يُنصَرُونَ
yunṣarūna
will be helped
The Day when no relation1 will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped -

44:42
Ayah 44:42
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
إِلَّا
illā
Except
مَن
man
(on) whom
رَّحِمَ
raḥima
Allah has mercy
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
Allah has mercy
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, He
هُوَ
huwa
[He]
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
Except those [believers] on whom Allāh has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

44:43
Ayah 44:43
إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
شَجَرَتَ
shajarata
(the) tree
ٱلزَّقُّومِ
l-zaqūmi
(of) Zaqqum
Indeed, the tree of zaqqūm

44:44
Ayah 44:44
طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ
طَعَامُ
ṭaʿāmu
(Will be) food
ٱلْأَثِيمِ
l-athīmi
(of) the sinner(s)
Is food for the sinful.

44:45
Ayah 44:45
كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ
كَٱلْمُهْلِ
kal-muh'li
Like the murky oil
يَغْلِى
yaghlī
it will boil
فِى
in
ٱلْبُطُونِ
l-buṭūni
the bellies
Like murky oil, it boils within bellies

44:46
Ayah 44:46
كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
كَغَلْىِ
kaghalyi
Like boiling
ٱلْحَمِيمِ
l-ḥamīmi
(of) scalding water
Like the boiling of scalding water.

44:47
Ayah 44:47
خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
خُذُوهُ
khudhūhu
Seize him
فَٱعْتِلُوهُ
fa-iʿ'tilūhu
and drag him
إِلَىٰ
ilā
into
سَوَآءِ
sawāi
(the) midst
ٱلْجَحِيمِ
l-jaḥīmi
(of) the Hellfire
[It will be commanded], "Seize him and drag him into the midst of the Hellfire,

44:48
Ayah 44:48
ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
ثُمَّ
thumma
Then
صُبُّوا۟
ṣubbū
pour
فَوْقَ
fawqa
over
رَأْسِهِۦ
rasihi
his head
مِنْ
min
of
عَذَابِ
ʿadhābi
(the) punishment
ٱلْحَمِيمِ
l-ḥamīmi
(of) the scalding water
Then pour over his head from the torment of scalding water."

44:49
Ayah 44:49
ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ
ذُقْ
dhuq
Taste
إِنَّكَ
innaka
Indeed, you
أَنتَ
anta
[you] (were)
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
the mighty
ٱلْكَرِيمُ
l-karīmu
the noble
[It will be said], "Taste! Indeed, you are the honored, the noble!1

44:50
Ayah 44:50
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
this
مَا
(is) what
كُنتُم
kuntum
you used to
بِهِۦ
bihi
[about it]
تَمْتَرُونَ
tamtarūna
doubt
Indeed, this is what you used to dispute."

44:51
Ayah 44:51
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
l-mutaqīna
the righteous
فِى
(will be) in
مَقَامٍ
maqāmin
a place
أَمِينٍ
amīnin
secure
Indeed, the righteous will be in a secure place:

44:52
Ayah 44:52
فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
فِى
In
جَنَّـٰتٍ
jannātin
gardens
وَعُيُونٍ
waʿuyūnin
and springs
Within gardens and springs,

44:53
Ayah 44:53
يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
يَلْبَسُونَ
yalbasūna
Wearing garments
مِن
min
of
سُندُسٍ
sundusin
fine silk
وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ
wa-is'tabraqin
and heavy silk
مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
mutaqābilīna
facing each other
Wearing [garments of] fine silk and brocade, facing each other.

44:54
Ayah 44:54
كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālika
Thus
وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم
wazawwajnāhum
And We will marry them
بِحُورٍ
biḥūrin
(to) companions with beautiful eyes
عِينٍ
ʿīnin
(to) companions with beautiful eyes
Thus. And We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.

44:55
Ayah 44:55
يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
يَدْعُونَ
yadʿūna
They will call
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
بِكُلِّ
bikulli
for every (kind)
فَـٰكِهَةٍ
fākihatin
(of) fruit
ءَامِنِينَ
āminīna
secure
They will call therein for every [kind of] fruit - safe and secure.

44:56
Ayah 44:56
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
لَا
Not
يَذُوقُونَ
yadhūqūna
they will taste
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
ٱلْمَوْتَ
l-mawta
the death
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلْمَوْتَةَ
l-mawtata
the death
ٱلْأُولَىٰ
l-ūlā
the first
وَوَقَىٰهُمْ
wawaqāhum
And He will protect them
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba
(from the) punishment
ٱلْجَحِيمِ
l-jaḥīmi
(of) the Hellfire
They will not taste death therein except the first death, and He will have protected them from the punishment of Hellfire

44:57
Ayah 44:57
فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
فَضْلًا
faḍlan
A Bounty
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّكَ
rabbika
your Lord
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
That
هُوَ
huwa
it
ٱلْفَوْزُ
l-fawzu
(will be) the success
ٱلْعَظِيمُ
l-ʿaẓīmu
the great
As bounty from your Lord. That is what is the great attainment.

44:58
Ayah 44:58
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
فَإِنَّمَا
fa-innamā
Indeed
يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ
yassarnāhu
We have made it easy
بِلِسَانِكَ
bilisānika
in your tongue
لَعَلَّهُمْ
laʿallahum
so that they may
يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
yatadhakkarūna
take heed
And indeed, We have eased it [i.e., the Qur’ān] in your tongue that they might be reminded.

44:59
Ayah 44:59
فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ
فَٱرْتَقِبْ
fa-ir'taqib
So watch
إِنَّهُم
innahum
indeed, they
مُّرْتَقِبُونَ
mur'taqibūna
(too are) watching
So watch, [O Muḥammad]; indeed, they are watching [for your end].
