أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
اَهُمۡ خَيۡرٌ اَمۡ قَوۡمُ تُبَّعٍۙ وَّ الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡؕ اَهۡلَكۡنٰهُمۡ اِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۡا مُجۡرِمِيۡنَ

اَهُمۡ

Are they
خَيْرٌ
خَيۡرٌ

قَوْمُ
قَوۡمُ

(the) people
تُبَّعٍ
تُبَّعٍ
tubbaʿin
(of) Tubba
وَٱلَّذِينَ
وَّ
wa-alladhīna
and those
مِن
الَّذِيۡنَ
min
before them
قَبْلِهِمْ
مِنۡ
qablihim
before them
أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ
قَبۡلِهِمۡؕ
ahlaknāhum
We destroyed them
إِنَّهُمْ
اَهۡلَكۡنٰهُمۡ
innahum
indeed, they
كَانُوا۟
اِنَّهُمۡ
kānū
were
مُجْرِمِينَ
كَانُوۡا
muj'rimīna
criminals
Are they better or the people of Tubbaʿ1 and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals.
