Ayah 46:2
تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ
تَنزِيلُ
tanzīlu
(The) revelation
ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ
l-kitābi
(of) the Book
مِنَ
mina
(is) from
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
ٱلْعَزِيزِ
l-ʿazīzi
the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمِ
l-ḥakīmi
the All-Wise
The revelation of the Book is from Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

46:3
Ayah 46:3
مَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَمَّآ أُنذِرُوا۟ مُعْرِضُونَ
مَا
Not
خَلَقْنَا
khalaqnā
We created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
وَمَا
wamā
and what
بَيْنَهُمَآ
baynahumā
(is) between both of them
إِلَّا
illā
except
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqi
in truth
وَأَجَلٍ
wa-ajalin
and (for) a term
مُّسَمًّى
musamman
appointed
وَٱلَّذِينَ
wa-alladhīna
But those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieve
عَمَّآ
ʿammā
from what
أُنذِرُوا۟
undhirū
they are warned
مُعْرِضُونَ
muʿ'riḍūna
(are) turning away
We did not create the heavens and earth and what is between them except in truth and [for] a specified term. But those who disbelieve, from that of which they are warned, are turning away.

46:4
Ayah 46:4
قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِى مَاذَا خَلَقُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ أَمْ لَهُمْ شِرْكٌ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ ۖ ٱئْتُونِى بِكِتَـٰبٍ مِّن قَبْلِ هَـٰذَآ أَوْ أَثَـٰرَةٍ مِّنْ عِلْمٍ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
قُلْ
qul
Say
أَرَءَيْتُم
ara-aytum
Do you see
مَّا
what
تَدْعُونَ
tadʿūna
you call
مِن
min
besides
دُونِ
dūni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
أَرُونِى
arūnī
Show me
مَاذَا
mādhā
what
خَلَقُوا۟
khalaqū
they have created
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
أَمْ
am
or
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
شِرْكٌ
shir'kun
(is) any share
فِى
in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
ٱئْتُونِى
i'tūnī
Bring me
بِكِتَـٰبٍ
bikitābin
a book
مِّن
min
from
قَبْلِ
qabli
before
هَـٰذَآ
hādhā
this
أَوْ
aw
or
أَثَـٰرَةٍ
athāratin
a trace
مِّنْ
min
of
عِلْمٍ
ʿil'min
knowledge
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīna
truthful
Say, [O Muḥammad], "Have you considered that which you invoke besides Allāh? Show me what they have created of the earth; or did they have partnership in [creation of] the heavens? Bring me a scripture [revealed] before this or a [remaining] trace of knowledge, if you should be truthful."

46:5
Ayah 46:5
وَمَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّن يَدْعُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَن لَّا يَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُۥٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ وَهُمْ عَن دُعَآئِهِمْ غَـٰفِلُونَ
وَمَنْ
waman
And who
أَضَلُّ
aḍallu
(is) more astray
مِمَّن
mimman
than (he) who
يَدْعُوا۟
yadʿū
calls
مِن
min
besides
دُونِ
dūni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
مَن
man
who
لَّا
will not respond
يَسْتَجِيبُ
yastajību
will not respond
لَهُۥٓ
lahu
to him
إِلَىٰ
ilā
until
يَوْمِ
yawmi
(the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) Resurrection
وَهُمْ
wahum
and they
عَن
ʿan
of
دُعَآئِهِمْ
duʿāihim
their calls
غَـٰفِلُونَ
ghāfilūna
(are) unaware
And who is more astray than he who invokes besides Allāh those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection [i.e., never], and they, of their invocation, are unaware.

46:6
Ayah 46:6
وَإِذَا حُشِرَ ٱلنَّاسُ كَانُوا۟ لَهُمْ أَعْدَآءً وَكَانُوا۟ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ كَـٰفِرِينَ
وَإِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
حُشِرَ
ḥushira
are gathered
ٱلنَّاسُ
l-nāsu
the people
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they will be
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
أَعْدَآءً
aʿdāan
enemies
وَكَانُوا۟
wakānū
and they will be
بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ
biʿibādatihim
of their worship
كَـٰفِرِينَ
kāfirīna
deniers
And when the people are gathered [that Day], they [who were invoked] will be enemies to them, and they will be deniers of their worship.

46:7
Ayah 46:7
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا بَيِّنَـٰتٍ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ هَـٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
وَإِذَا
wa-idhā
And when
تُتْلَىٰ
tut'lā
are recited
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
to them
ءَايَـٰتُنَا
āyātunā
Our Verses
بَيِّنَـٰتٍ
bayyinātin
clear
قَالَ
qāla
say
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieve
لِلْحَقِّ
lil'ḥaqqi
of the truth
لَمَّا
lammā
when
جَآءَهُمْ
jāahum
it comes to them
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
This
سِحْرٌ
siḥ'run
(is) a magic
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnun
clear
And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them, "This is obvious magic."

46:8
Ayah 46:8
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖ قُلْ إِنِ ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ فَلَا تَمْلِكُونَ لِى مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَيْـًٔا ۖ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تُفِيضُونَ فِيهِ ۖ كَفَىٰ بِهِۦ شَهِيدًۢا بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَكُمْ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
أَمْ
am
Or
يَقُولُونَ
yaqūlūna
they say
ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ
if'tarāhu
He has invented it
قُلْ
qul
Say
إِنِ
ini
If
ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ
if'taraytuhu
I have invented it
فَلَا
falā
then not
تَمْلِكُونَ
tamlikūna
you have power
لِى
for me
مِنَ
mina
against
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
شَيْـًٔا
shayan
anything
هُوَ
huwa
He
أَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu
knows best
بِمَا
bimā
of what
تُفِيضُونَ
tufīḍūna
you utter
فِيهِ
fīhi
concerning it
كَفَىٰ
kafā
Sufficient is He
بِهِۦ
bihi
Sufficient is He
شَهِيدًۢا
shahīdan
(as) a Witness
بَيْنِى
baynī
between me
وَبَيْنَكُمْ
wabaynakum
and between you
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
ٱلْغَفُورُ
l-ghafūru
(is) the Oft-Forgiving
ٱلرَّحِيمُ
l-raḥīmu
the Most Merciful
Or do they say, "He has invented it"? Say, "If I have invented it, you will not possess for me [the power of protection] from Allāh at all. He is most knowing of that in which you are involved.1 Sufficient is He as Witness between me and you, and He is the Forgiving, the Merciful."

46:9
Ayah 46:9
قُلْ مَا كُنتُ بِدْعًا مِّنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَمَآ أَدْرِى مَا يُفْعَلُ بِى وَلَا بِكُمْ ۖ إِنْ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَىَّ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
قُلْ
qul
Say
مَا
Not
كُنتُ
kuntu
I am
بِدْعًا
bid'ʿan
a new (one)
مِّنَ
mina
among
ٱلرُّسُلِ
l-rusuli
the Messengers
وَمَآ
wamā
and not
أَدْرِى
adrī
I know
مَا
what
يُفْعَلُ
yuf'ʿalu
will be done
بِى
with me
وَلَا
walā
and not
بِكُمْ
bikum
with you
إِنْ
in
Not
أَتَّبِعُ
attabiʿu
I follow
إِلَّا
illā
but
مَا
what
يُوحَىٰٓ
yūḥā
is revealed
إِلَىَّ
ilayya
to me
وَمَآ
wamā
and not
أَنَا۠
anā
I am
إِلَّا
illā
but
نَذِيرٌ
nadhīrun
a warner
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnun
clear
Say, "I am not something original among the messengers,1 nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am not but a clear warner."

46:10
Ayah 46:10
قُلْ أَرَءَيْتُمْ إِن كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَفَرْتُم بِهِۦ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِّنۢ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ عَلَىٰ مِثْلِهِۦ فَـَٔامَنَ وَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
قُلْ
qul
Say
أَرَءَيْتُمْ
ara-aytum
Do you see
إِن
in
if
كَانَ
kāna
it is
مِنْ
min
from Allah
عِندِ
ʿindi
from Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
from Allah
وَكَفَرْتُم
wakafartum
and you disbelieve
بِهِۦ
bihi
in it
وَشَهِدَ
washahida
and testifies
شَاهِدٌ
shāhidun
a witness
مِّنۢ
min
from
بَنِىٓ
banī
(the) Children of Israel
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla
(the) Children of Israel
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
to
مِثْلِهِۦ
mith'lihi
(the) like thereof
فَـَٔامَنَ
faāmana
then he believed
وَٱسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ
wa-is'takbartum
while you are arrogant
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
لَا
(does) not
يَهْدِى
yahdī
guide
ٱلْقَوْمَ
l-qawma
the people
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīna
the wrongdoers
Say, "Have you considered: if it [i.e., the Qur’ān] was from Allāh, and you disbelieved in it while a witness from the Children of Israel has testified to something similar1 and believed while you were arrogant...?"2 Indeed, Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people.

46:11
Ayah 46:11
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَوْ كَانَ خَيْرًا مَّا سَبَقُونَآ إِلَيْهِ ۚ وَإِذْ لَمْ يَهْتَدُوا۟ بِهِۦ فَسَيَقُولُونَ هَـٰذَآ إِفْكٌ قَدِيمٌ
وَقَالَ
waqāla
And say
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieve
لِلَّذِينَ
lilladhīna
of those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
لَوْ
law
If
كَانَ
kāna
it had been
خَيْرًا
khayran
good
مَّا
not
سَبَقُونَآ
sabaqūnā
they (would) have preceded us
إِلَيْهِ
ilayhi
to it
وَإِذْ
wa-idh
And when
لَمْ
lam
not
يَهْتَدُوا۟
yahtadū
they (are) guided
بِهِۦ
bihi
by it
فَسَيَقُولُونَ
fasayaqūlūna
they say
هَـٰذَآ
hādhā
This
إِفْكٌ
if'kun
(is) a lie
قَدِيمٌ
qadīmun
ancient
And those who disbelieve say of those who believe, "If it had [truly] been good, they would not have preceded us to it." And when they are not guided by it, they will say, "This is an ancient falsehood."

46:12
Ayah 46:12
وَمِن قَبْلِهِۦ كِتَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِمَامًا وَرَحْمَةً ۚ وَهَـٰذَا كِتَـٰبٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّسَانًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّيُنذِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُحْسِنِينَ
وَمِن
wamin
And before it
قَبْلِهِۦ
qablihi
And before it
كِتَـٰبُ
kitābu
(was the) Scripture
مُوسَىٰٓ
mūsā
(of) Musa
إِمَامًا
imāman
(as) a guide
وَرَحْمَةً
waraḥmatan
and a mercy
وَهَـٰذَا
wahādhā
And this
كِتَـٰبٌ
kitābun
(is) a Book
مُّصَدِّقٌ
muṣaddiqun
confirming
لِّسَانًا
lisānan
(in) language
عَرَبِيًّا
ʿarabiyyan
Arabic
لِّيُنذِرَ
liyundhira
to warn
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ظَلَمُوا۟
ẓalamū
do wrong
وَبُشْرَىٰ
wabush'rā
and (as) glad tidings
لِلْمُحْسِنِينَ
lil'muḥ'sinīna
for the good-doers
And before it was the scripture of Moses to lead and as a mercy. And this is a confirming Book in an Arabic tongue to warn those who have wronged and as good tidings to the doers of good.

46:13
Ayah 46:13
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَقَـٰمُوا۟ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
قَالُوا۟
qālū
say
رَبُّنَا
rabbunā
Our Lord
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
(is) Allah
ثُمَّ
thumma
then
ٱسْتَقَـٰمُوا۟
is'taqāmū
remain firm
فَلَا
falā
then no
خَوْفٌ
khawfun
fear
عَلَيْهِمْ
ʿalayhim
on them
وَلَا
walā
and not
هُمْ
hum
they
يَحْزَنُونَ
yaḥzanūna
will grieve
Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allāh," and then remained on a right course - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.

46:14
Ayah 46:14
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
Those
أَصْحَـٰبُ
aṣḥābu
(are the) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
l-janati
(of) Paradise
خَـٰلِدِينَ
khālidīna
abiding forever
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
جَزَآءًۢ
jazāan
a reward
بِمَا
bimā
for what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used to
يَعْمَلُونَ
yaʿmalūna
do
Those are the companions of Paradise, abiding eternally therein as reward for what they used to do.

46:15
Ayah 46:15
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ إِحْسَـٰنًا ۖ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ كُرْهًا وَوَضَعَتْهُ كُرْهًا ۖ وَحَمْلُهُۥ وَفِصَـٰلُهُۥ ثَلَـٰثُونَ شَهْرًا ۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَبَلَغَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَـٰلِحًا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِى فِى ذُرِّيَّتِىٓ ۖ إِنِّى تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّى مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
وَوَصَّيْنَا
wawaṣṣaynā
And We have enjoined
ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
l-insāna
(on) man
بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ
biwālidayhi
to his parents
إِحْسَـٰنًا
iḥ'sānan
kindness
حَمَلَتْهُ
ḥamalathu
Carried him
أُمُّهُۥ
ummuhu
his mother
كُرْهًا
kur'han
(with) hardship
وَوَضَعَتْهُ
wawaḍaʿathu
and gave birth to him
كُرْهًا
kur'han
(with) hardship
وَحَمْلُهُۥ
waḥamluhu
And (the) bearing of him
وَفِصَـٰلُهُۥ
wafiṣāluhu
and (the) weaning of him
ثَلَـٰثُونَ
thalāthūna
(is) thirty
شَهْرًا
shahran
month(s)
حَتَّىٰٓ
ḥattā
until
إِذَا
idhā
when
بَلَغَ
balagha
he reaches
أَشُدَّهُۥ
ashuddahu
his maturity
وَبَلَغَ
wabalagha
and reaches
أَرْبَعِينَ
arbaʿīna
forty
سَنَةً
sanatan
year(s)
قَالَ
qāla
he says
رَبِّ
rabbi
My Lord
أَوْزِعْنِىٓ
awziʿ'nī
grant me (the) power
أَنْ
an
that
أَشْكُرَ
ashkura
I may be grateful
نِعْمَتَكَ
niʿ'mataka
(for) Your favor
ٱلَّتِىٓ
allatī
which
أَنْعَمْتَ
anʿamta
You have bestowed
عَلَىَّ
ʿalayya
upon me
وَعَلَىٰ
waʿalā
and upon
وَٰلِدَىَّ
wālidayya
my parents
وَأَنْ
wa-an
and that
أَعْمَلَ
aʿmala
I do
صَـٰلِحًا
ṣāliḥan
righteous (deeds)
تَرْضَىٰهُ
tarḍāhu
which please You
وَأَصْلِحْ
wa-aṣliḥ
and make righteous
لِى
for me
فِى
among
ذُرِّيَّتِىٓ
dhurriyyatī
my offspring
إِنِّى
innī
indeed
تُبْتُ
tub'tu
I turn
إِلَيْكَ
ilayka
to You
وَإِنِّى
wa-innī
and indeed, I am
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
l-mus'limīna
those who submit
And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me1 to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."

46:16
Ayah 46:16
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ نَتَقَبَّلُ عَنْهُمْ أَحْسَنَ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَنَتَجَاوَزُ عَن سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ فِىٓ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ۖ وَعْدَ ٱلصِّدْقِ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(are) the ones
نَتَقَبَّلُ
nataqabbalu
We will accept
عَنْهُمْ
ʿanhum
from them
أَحْسَنَ
aḥsana
(the) best
مَا
(of) what
عَمِلُوا۟
ʿamilū
they did
وَنَتَجَاوَزُ
wanatajāwazu
and We will overlook
عَن
ʿan
[from]
سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ
sayyiātihim
their evil deeds
فِىٓ
among
أَصْحَـٰبِ
aṣḥābi
(the) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
l-janati
(of) Paradise
وَعْدَ
waʿda
A promise
ٱلصِّدْقِ
l-ṣid'qi
true
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
which
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they were
يُوعَدُونَ
yūʿadūna
promised
Those are the ones from whom We will accept the best of what they did and overlook their misdeeds, [their being] among the companions of Paradise. [That is] the promise of truth which they had been promised.

46:17
Ayah 46:17
وَٱلَّذِى قَالَ لِوَٰلِدَيْهِ أُفٍّ لَّكُمَآ أَتَعِدَانِنِىٓ أَنْ أُخْرَجَ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ ٱلْقُرُونُ مِن قَبْلِى وَهُمَا يَسْتَغِيثَانِ ٱللَّهَ وَيْلَكَ ءَامِنْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَيَقُولُ مَا هَـٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
وَٱلَّذِى
wa-alladhī
But the one who
قَالَ
qāla
says
لِوَٰلِدَيْهِ
liwālidayhi
to his parents
أُفٍّ
uffin
Uff
لَّكُمَآ
lakumā
to both of you
أَتَعِدَانِنِىٓ
ataʿidāninī
Do you promise me
أَنْ
an
that
أُخْرَجَ
ukh'raja
I will be brought forth
وَقَدْ
waqad
and have already passed away
خَلَتِ
khalati
and have already passed away
ٱلْقُرُونُ
l-qurūnu
the generations
مِن
min
before me
قَبْلِى
qablī
before me
وَهُمَا
wahumā
And they both
يَسْتَغِيثَانِ
yastaghīthāni
seek help
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
(of) Allah
وَيْلَكَ
waylaka
Woe to you
ءَامِنْ
āmin
Believe
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
وَعْدَ
waʿda
(the) Promise
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
حَقٌّ
ḥaqqun
(is) true
فَيَقُولُ
fayaqūlu
But he says
مَا
Not
هَـٰذَآ
hādhā
(is) this
إِلَّآ
illā
but
أَسَـٰطِيرُ
asāṭīru
(the) stories
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
l-awalīna
(of) the former (people)
But one who says to his parents, "Uff1 to you; do you promise me that I will be brought forth [from the earth] when generations before me have already passed on [into oblivion]?" while they call to Allāh for help [and to their son], "Woe to you! Believe! Indeed, the promise of Allāh is truth." But he says, "This is not but legends of the former peoples" -

46:18
Ayah 46:18
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقَوْلُ فِىٓ أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ خَـٰسِرِينَ
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
Those
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(are) the ones
حَقَّ
ḥaqqa
(has) proved true
عَلَيْهِمُ
ʿalayhimu
against them
ٱلْقَوْلُ
l-qawlu
the word
فِىٓ
among
أُمَمٍ
umamin
nations
قَدْ
qad
(that) already passed away
خَلَتْ
khalat
(that) already passed away
مِن
min
before them
قَبْلِهِم
qablihim
before them
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلْجِنِّ
l-jini
(the) jinn
وَٱلْإِنسِ
wal-insi
and the men
إِنَّهُمْ
innahum
Indeed, they
كَانُوا۟
kānū
are
خَـٰسِرِينَ
khāsirīna
(the) losers
Those are the ones upon whom the word [i.e., decree] has come into effect, [who will be] among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.

46:19
Ayah 46:19
وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجَـٰتٌ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوا۟ ۖ وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
وَلِكُلٍّ
walikullin
And for all
دَرَجَـٰتٌ
darajātun
(are) degrees
مِّمَّا
mimmā
for what
عَمِلُوا۟
ʿamilū
they did
وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ
waliyuwaffiyahum
and that He may fully compensate them
أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ
aʿmālahum
(for) their deeds
وَهُمْ
wahum
and they
لَا
will not be wronged
يُظْلَمُونَ
yuẓ'lamūna
will not be wronged
And for all there are degrees [of reward and punishment] for what they have done, and [it is] so that He may fully compensate them for their deeds, and they will not be wronged.

46:20
Ayah 46:20
وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَذْهَبْتُمْ طَيِّبَـٰتِكُمْ فِى حَيَاتِكُمُ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم بِهَا فَٱلْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ عَذَابَ ٱلْهُونِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْسُقُونَ
وَيَوْمَ
wayawma
And (the) Day
يُعْرَضُ
yuʿ'raḍu
will be exposed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieved
عَلَى
ʿalā
to
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nāri
the Fire
أَذْهَبْتُمْ
adhhabtum
You exhausted
طَيِّبَـٰتِكُمْ
ṭayyibātikum
your good things
فِى
in
حَيَاتِكُمُ
ḥayātikumu
your life
ٱلدُّنْيَا
l-dun'yā
(of) the world
وَٱسْتَمْتَعْتُم
wa-is'tamtaʿtum
and you took your pleasures
بِهَا
bihā
therein
فَٱلْيَوْمَ
fal-yawma
So today
تُجْزَوْنَ
tuj'zawna
you will be recompensed
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba
(with) a punishment
ٱلْهُونِ
l-hūni
humiliating
بِمَا
bimā
because
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you were
تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
tastakbirūna
arrogant
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
بِغَيْرِ
bighayri
without
ٱلْحَقِّ
l-ḥaqi
[the] right
وَبِمَا
wabimā
and because
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you were
تَفْسُقُونَ
tafsuqūna
defiantly disobedient
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "You exhausted your pleasures during your worldly life and enjoyed them, so this Day you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation because you were arrogant upon the earth without right and because you were defiantly disobedient."

46:21
Ayah 46:21
۞ وَٱذْكُرْ أَخَا عَادٍ إِذْ أَنذَرَ قَوْمَهُۥ بِٱلْأَحْقَافِ وَقَدْ خَلَتِ ٱلنُّذُرُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِۦٓ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
وَٱذْكُرْ
wa-udh'kur
And mention
أَخَا
akhā
(the) brother
عَادٍ
ʿādin
(of) Aad
إِذْ
idh
when
أَنذَرَ
andhara
he warned
قَوْمَهُۥ
qawmahu
his people
بِٱلْأَحْقَافِ
bil-aḥqāfi
in the Al-Ahqaf
وَقَدْ
waqad
and had already passed away
خَلَتِ
khalati
and had already passed away
ٱلنُّذُرُ
l-nudhuru
[the] warners
مِنۢ
min
before him
بَيْنِ
bayni
before him
يَدَيْهِ
yadayhi
before him
وَمِنْ
wamin
and after him
خَلْفِهِۦٓ
khalfihi
and after him
أَلَّا
allā
That not
تَعْبُدُوٓا۟
taʿbudū
you worship
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
إِنِّىٓ
innī
Indeed, I
أَخَافُ
akhāfu
[I] fear
عَلَيْكُمْ
ʿalaykum
for you
عَذَابَ
ʿadhāba
a punishment
يَوْمٍ
yawmin
(of) a Day
عَظِيمٍ
ʿaẓīmin
Great
And mention, [O Muḥammad], the brother of ʿAad,1 when he warned his people in [the region of] al-Aḥqāf - and warners had already passed on before him and after him - [saying], "Do not worship except Allāh. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day."2

46:22
Ayah 46:22
قَالُوٓا۟ أَجِئْتَنَا لِتَأْفِكَنَا عَنْ ءَالِهَتِنَا فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَآ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
They said
أَجِئْتَنَا
aji'tanā
Have you come to us
لِتَأْفِكَنَا
litafikanā
to turn us away
عَنْ
ʿan
from
ءَالِهَتِنَا
ālihatinā
our gods
فَأْتِنَا
fatinā
Then bring us
بِمَا
bimā
what
تَعِدُنَآ
taʿidunā
you threaten us
إِن
in
if
كُنتَ
kunta
you are
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
l-ṣādiqīna
the truthful
They said, "Have you come to delude us away from our gods? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."

46:23
Ayah 46:23
قَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱلْعِلْمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَأُبَلِّغُكُم مَّآ أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِۦ وَلَـٰكِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰكُمْ قَوْمًا تَجْهَلُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
He said
إِنَّمَا
innamā
Only
ٱلْعِلْمُ
l-ʿil'mu
the knowledge
عِندَ
ʿinda
(is) with Allah
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(is) with Allah
وَأُبَلِّغُكُم
wa-uballighukum
and I convey to you
مَّآ
what
أُرْسِلْتُ
ur'sil'tu
I am sent
بِهِۦ
bihi
with it
وَلَـٰكِنِّىٓ
walākinnī
but
أَرَىٰكُمْ
arākum
I see you
قَوْمًا
qawman
a people
تَجْهَلُونَ
tajhalūna
ignorant
He said, "Knowledge [of its time] is only with Allāh, and I convey to you that with which I was sent; but I see you [to be] a people behaving ignorantly."

46:24
Ayah 46:24
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُّسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَا عَارِضٌ مُّمْطِرُنَا ۚ بَلْ هُوَ مَا ٱسْتَعْجَلْتُم بِهِۦ ۖ رِيحٌ فِيهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
Then when
رَأَوْهُ
ra-awhu
they saw it
عَارِضًا
ʿāriḍan
(as) a cloud
مُّسْتَقْبِلَ
mus'taqbila
approaching
أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ
awdiyatihim
their valleys
قَالُوا۟
qālū
they said
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
This
عَارِضٌ
ʿāriḍun
(is) a cloud
مُّمْطِرُنَا
mum'ṭirunā
bringing us rain
بَلْ
bal
Nay
هُوَ
huwa
it
مَا
(is) what
ٱسْتَعْجَلْتُم
is'taʿjaltum
you were asking it to be hastened
بِهِۦ
bihi
you were asking it to be hastened
رِيحٌ
rīḥun
a wind
فِيهَا
fīhā
in it
عَذَابٌ
ʿadhābun
(is) a punishment
أَلِيمٌ
alīmun
painful
And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" Rather, it is that for which you were impatient:1 a wind, within it a painful punishment,

46:25
Ayah 46:25
تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَىْءٍۭ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ لَا يُرَىٰٓ إِلَّا مَسَـٰكِنُهُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
تُدَمِّرُ
tudammiru
Destroying
كُلَّ
kulla
every
شَىْءٍۭ
shayin
thing
بِأَمْرِ
bi-amri
by (the) command
رَبِّهَا
rabbihā
(of) its Lord
فَأَصْبَحُوا۟
fa-aṣbaḥū
Then they became (such)
لَا
not
يُرَىٰٓ
yurā
is seen
إِلَّا
illā
except
مَسَـٰكِنُهُمْ
masākinuhum
their dwellings
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālika
Thus
نَجْزِى
najzī
We recompense
ٱلْقَوْمَ
l-qawma
the people
ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
l-muj'rimīna
[the] criminals
Destroying everything by command of its Lord. And they became so that nothing was seen [of them] except their dwellings. Thus do We recompense the criminal people.

46:26
Ayah 46:26
وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّـٰهُمْ فِيمَآ إِن مَّكَّنَّـٰكُمْ فِيهِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَمْعًا وَأَبْصَـٰرًا وَأَفْـِٔدَةً فَمَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَلَآ أَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ وَلَآ أَفْـِٔدَتُهُم مِّن شَىْءٍ إِذْ كَانُوا۟ يَجْحَدُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And certainly
مَكَّنَّـٰهُمْ
makkannāhum
We had established them
فِيمَآ
fīmā
in what
إِن
in
not
مَّكَّنَّـٰكُمْ
makkannākum
We have established you
فِيهِ
fīhi
in it
وَجَعَلْنَا
wajaʿalnā
and We made
لَهُمْ
lahum
for them
سَمْعًا
samʿan
hearing
وَأَبْصَـٰرًا
wa-abṣāran
and vision
وَأَفْـِٔدَةً
wa-afidatan
and hearts
فَمَآ
famā
But not
أَغْنَىٰ
aghnā
availed
عَنْهُمْ
ʿanhum
them
سَمْعُهُمْ
samʿuhum
their hearing
وَلَآ
walā
and not
أَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ
abṣāruhum
their vision
وَلَآ
walā
and not
أَفْـِٔدَتُهُم
afidatuhum
their hearts
مِّن
min
any
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
إِذْ
idh
when
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they were
يَجْحَدُونَ
yajḥadūna
rejecting
بِـَٔايَـٰتِ
biāyāti
(the) Signs
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَحَاقَ
waḥāqa
and enveloped
بِهِم
bihim
them
مَّا
what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they used to
بِهِۦ
bihi
[at it]
يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
yastahziūna
ridicule
And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you, and We made for them hearing and vision and hearts [i.e., intellect]. But their hearing and vision and hearts availed them not from anything [of the punishment] when they were [continually] rejecting the signs of Allāh; and they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

46:27
Ayah 46:27
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا مَا حَوْلَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ وَصَرَّفْنَا ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
وَلَقَدْ
walaqad
And certainly
أَهْلَكْنَا
ahlaknā
We destroyed
مَا
what
حَوْلَكُم
ḥawlakum
surrounds you
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلْقُرَىٰ
l-qurā
the towns
وَصَرَّفْنَا
waṣarrafnā
and We have diversified
ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ
l-āyāti
the Signs
لَعَلَّهُمْ
laʿallahum
that they may
يَرْجِعُونَ
yarjiʿūna
return
And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief].

46:28
Ayah 46:28
فَلَوْلَا نَصَرَهُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قُرْبَانًا ءَالِهَةًۢ ۖ بَلْ ضَلُّوا۟ عَنْهُمْ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ إِفْكُهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْتَرُونَ
فَلَوْلَا
falawlā
Then why (did) not
نَصَرَهُمُ
naṣarahumu
help them
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those whom
ٱتَّخَذُوا۟
ittakhadhū
they had taken
مِن
min
besides
دُونِ
dūni
besides
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
قُرْبَانًا
qur'bānan
gods as a way of approach
ءَالِهَةًۢ
ālihatan
gods as a way of approach
بَلْ
bal
Nay
ضَلُّوا۟
ḍallū
they were lost
عَنْهُمْ
ʿanhum
from them
وَذَٰلِكَ
wadhālika
And that
إِفْكُهُمْ
if'kuhum
(was) their falsehood
وَمَا
wamā
and what
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they were
يَفْتَرُونَ
yaftarūna
inventing
Then why did those they took besides Allāh as deities by which to approach [Him]1 not aid them? But they had strayed [i.e., departed] from them. And that was their falsehood and what they were inventing.

46:29
Ayah 46:29
وَإِذْ صَرَفْنَآ إِلَيْكَ نَفَرًا مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنصِتُوا۟ ۖ فَلَمَّا قُضِىَ وَلَّوْا۟ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
وَإِذْ
wa-idh
And when
صَرَفْنَآ
ṣarafnā
We directed
إِلَيْكَ
ilayka
to you
نَفَرًا
nafaran
a party
مِّنَ
mina
of
ٱلْجِنِّ
l-jini
the jinn
يَسْتَمِعُونَ
yastamiʿūna
listening
ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
l-qur'āna
(to) the Quran
فَلَمَّا
falammā
And when
حَضَرُوهُ
ḥaḍarūhu
they attended it
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
they said
أَنصِتُوا۟
anṣitū
Listen quietly
فَلَمَّا
falammā
And when
قُضِىَ
quḍiya
it was concluded
وَلَّوْا۟
wallaw
they turned back
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
قَوْمِهِم
qawmihim
their people
مُّنذِرِينَ
mundhirīna
(as) warners
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when We directed to you a few of the jinn, listening to the Qur’ān. And when they attended it, they said, "Listen attentively." And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners.

46:30
Ayah 46:30
قَالُوا۟ يَـٰقَوْمَنَآ إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا كِتَـٰبًا أُنزِلَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مُوسَىٰ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يَهْدِىٓ إِلَى ٱلْحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِيقٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
يَـٰقَوْمَنَآ
yāqawmanā
O our people
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
سَمِعْنَا
samiʿ'nā
[we] have heard
كِتَـٰبًا
kitāban
a Book
أُنزِلَ
unzila
revealed
مِنۢ
min
after
بَعْدِ
baʿdi
after
مُوسَىٰ
mūsā
Musa
مُصَدِّقًا
muṣaddiqan
confirming
لِّمَا
limā
what
بَيْنَ
bayna
(was) before it
يَدَيْهِ
yadayhi
(was) before it
يَهْدِىٓ
yahdī
guiding
إِلَى
ilā
to
ٱلْحَقِّ
l-ḥaqi
the truth
وَإِلَىٰ
wa-ilā
and to
طَرِيقٍ
ṭarīqin
a Path
مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
mus'taqīmin
Straight
They said, "O our people, indeed we have heard a [recited] Book revealed after Moses confirming what was before it which guides to the truth and to a straight path.

46:31
Ayah 46:31
يَـٰقَوْمَنَآ أَجِيبُوا۟ دَاعِىَ ٱللَّهِ وَءَامِنُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُجِرْكُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
يَـٰقَوْمَنَآ
yāqawmanā
O our people
أَجِيبُوا۟
ajībū
Respond
دَاعِىَ
dāʿiya
(to the) caller
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
وَءَامِنُوا۟
waāminū
and believe
بِهِۦ
bihi
in him
يَغْفِرْ
yaghfir
He will forgive
لَكُم
lakum
for you
مِّن
min
of
ذُنُوبِكُمْ
dhunūbikum
your sins
وَيُجِرْكُم
wayujir'kum
and will protect you
مِّنْ
min
from
عَذَابٍ
ʿadhābin
a punishment
أَلِيمٍ
alīmin
painful
O our people, respond to the Caller [i.e., Messenger] of Allāh1 and believe in him; He [i.e., Allāh] will forgive for you your sins and protect you from a painful punishment.

46:32
Ayah 46:32
وَمَن لَّا يُجِبْ دَاعِىَ ٱللَّهِ فَلَيْسَ بِمُعْجِزٍ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَيْسَ لَهُۥ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوْلِيَآءُ ۚ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
وَمَن
waman
And whoever
لَّا
(does) not
يُجِبْ
yujib
respond
دَاعِىَ
dāʿiya
(to the) caller
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
فَلَيْسَ
falaysa
then not
بِمُعْجِزٍ
bimuʿ'jizin
he can escape
فِى
in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
وَلَيْسَ
walaysa
and not
لَهُۥ
lahu
for him
مِن
min
besides Him
دُونِهِۦٓ
dūnihi
besides Him
أَوْلِيَآءُ
awliyāu
protectors
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ
ulāika
Those
فِى
(are) in
ضَلَـٰلٍ
ḍalālin
error
مُّبِينٍ

clear
But he who does not respond to the Caller of Allāh will not cause failure [to Him] upon earth, and he will not have besides Him any protectors. Those are in manifest error."

46:33
Ayah 46:33
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَمْ يَعْىَ بِخَلْقِهِنَّ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ ۚ بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
أَوَلَمْ
awalam
Do not
يَرَوْا۟
yaraw
they see
أَنَّ
anna
that
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
(is) the One Who
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَٱلْأَرْضَ
wal-arḍa
and the earth
وَلَمْ
walam
and (was) not
يَعْىَ
yaʿya
tired
بِخَلْقِهِنَّ
bikhalqihinna
by their creation
بِقَـٰدِرٍ
biqādirin
(is) able
عَلَىٰٓ
ʿalā
to give life
أَن
an
to give life
يُحْـِۧىَ
yuḥ'yiya
to give life
ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
l-mawtā
(to) the dead
بَلَىٰٓ
balā
Yes
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
indeed He
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
(is) on
كُلِّ
kulli
every
شَىْءٍ
shayin
thing
قَدِيرٌ
qadīrun
All-Powerful
Do they not see that Allāh, who created the heavens and earth and did not fail in their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yes. Indeed, He is over all things competent.

46:34
Ayah 46:34
وَيَوْمَ يُعْرَضُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ أَلَيْسَ هَـٰذَا بِٱلْحَقِّ ۖ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا ۚ قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ
وَيَوْمَ
wayawma
And (the) Day
يُعْرَضُ
yuʿ'raḍu
are exposed
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieved
عَلَى
ʿalā
to
ٱلنَّارِ
l-nāri
the Fire
أَلَيْسَ
alaysa
Is not
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
this
بِٱلْحَقِّ
bil-ḥaqi
the truth
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They will say
بَلَىٰ
balā
Yes
وَرَبِّنَا
warabbinā
by our Lord
قَالَ
qāla
He will say
فَذُوقُوا۟
fadhūqū
Then taste
ٱلْعَذَابَ
l-ʿadhāba
the punishment
بِمَا
bimā
because
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you used to
تَكْفُرُونَ
takfurūna
disbelieve
And the Day those who disbelieved are exposed to the Fire [it will be said], "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will say, "Then taste the punishment for what you used to deny."1

46:35
Ayah 46:35
فَٱصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعَزْمِ مِنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسْتَعْجِل لَّهُمْ ۚ كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ مَا يُوعَدُونَ لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا سَاعَةً مِّن نَّهَارٍۭ ۚ بَلَـٰغٌ ۚ فَهَلْ يُهْلَكُ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ
فَٱصْبِرْ
fa-iṣ'bir
So be patient
كَمَا
kamā
as
صَبَرَ
ṣabara
had patience
أُو۟لُوا۟
ulū
those of determination
ٱلْعَزْمِ
l-ʿazmi
those of determination
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلرُّسُلِ
l-rusuli
the Messengers
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَسْتَعْجِل
tastaʿjil
seek to hasten
لَّهُمْ
lahum
for them
كَأَنَّهُمْ
ka-annahum
As if they had
يَوْمَ
yawma
(the) Day
يَرَوْنَ
yarawna
they see
مَا
what
يُوعَدُونَ
yūʿadūna
they were promised
لَمْ
lam
not
يَلْبَثُوٓا۟
yalbathū
remained
إِلَّا
illā
except
سَاعَةً
sāʿatan
an hour
مِّن
min
of
نَّهَارٍۭ
nahārin
a day
بَلَـٰغٌ
balāghun
A notification
فَهَلْ
fahal
But will
يُهْلَكُ
yuh'laku
(any) be destroyed
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلْقَوْمُ
l-qawmu
the people
ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ
l-fāsiqūna
the defiantly disobedient
So be patient, [O Muḥammad], as were those of determination among the messengers and do not be impatient for them.1 It will be - on the Day they see that which they are promised - as though they had not remained [in the world] except an hour of a day. [This is] notification. And will [any] be destroyed except the defiantly disobedient people?
