61:1
Ayah 61:1
سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
سَبَّحَ
sabbaḥa
Glorifies
لِلَّهِ
lillahi
Allah
مَا
whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ
l-samāwāti
the heavens
وَمَا
wamā
and whatever
فِى
(is) in
ٱلْأَرْضِ
l-arḍi
the earth
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
And He
ٱلْعَزِيزُ
l-ʿazīzu
(is) the All-Mighty
ٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmu
the All-Wise
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth exalts Allāh,1 and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

61:2
Ayah 61:2
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لِمَ تَقُولُونَ مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(you) who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
لِمَ
lima
Why
تَقُولُونَ
taqūlūna
(do) you say
مَا
what
لَا
not
تَفْعَلُونَ
tafʿalūna
you do
O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do?

61:3
Ayah 61:3
كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ مَا لَا تَفْعَلُونَ
كَبُرَ

Great is
مَقْتًا
maqtan
hatred
عِندَ
ʿinda
with
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
أَن
an
that
تَقُولُوا۟
taqūlū
you say
مَا
what
لَا
not
تَفْعَلُونَ
tafʿalūna
you do
Greatly hateful in the sight of Allāh is that you say what you do not do.

61:4
Ayah 61:4
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحِبُّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُقَـٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِهِۦ صَفًّا كَأَنَّهُم بُنْيَـٰنٌ مَّرْصُوصٌ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
ٱللَّهَ
l-laha
Allah
يُحِبُّ
yuḥibbu
loves
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
يُقَـٰتِلُونَ
yuqātilūna
fight
فِى
in
سَبِيلِهِۦ
sabīlihi
His Way
صَفًّا
ṣaffan
(in) a row
كَأَنَّهُم
ka-annahum
as if they
بُنْيَـٰنٌ
bun'yānun
(were) a structure
مَّرْصُوصٌ
marṣūṣun
joined firmly
Indeed, Allāh loves those who fight in His cause in a row as though they are a [single] structure joined firmly.

61:5
Ayah 61:5
وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِۦ يَـٰقَوْمِ لِمَ تُؤْذُونَنِى وَقَد تَّعْلَمُونَ أَنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا زَاغُوٓا۟ أَزَاغَ ٱللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ
وَإِذْ
wa-idh
And when
قَالَ
qāla
said
مُوسَىٰ
mūsā
Musa
لِقَوْمِهِۦ
liqawmihi
to his people
يَـٰقَوْمِ
yāqawmi
O my people
لِمَ
lima
Why
تُؤْذُونَنِى
tu'dhūnanī
do you hurt me
وَقَد
waqad
while certainly
تَّعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūna
you know
أَنِّى
annī
that I am
رَسُولُ
rasūlu
(the) Messenger
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
إِلَيْكُمْ
ilaykum
to you
فَلَمَّا
falammā
Then when
زَاغُوٓا۟
zāghū
they deviated
أَزَاغَ
azāgha
(was caused to) deviate
ٱللَّهُ
l-lahu
(by) Allah
قُلُوبَهُمْ
qulūbahum
their hearts
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
لَا
(does) not
يَهْدِى
yahdī
guide
ٱلْقَوْمَ
l-qawma
the people
ٱلْفَـٰسِقِينَ
l-fāsiqīna
the defiantly disobedient
And [mention, O Muḥammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, why do you harm me while you certainly know that I am the messenger of Allāh to you?" And when they deviated, Allāh caused their hearts to deviate. And Allāh does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.

61:6
Ayah 61:6
وَإِذْ قَالَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ يَـٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُم مُّصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَمُبَشِّرًۢا بِرَسُولٍ يَأْتِى مِنۢ بَعْدِى ٱسْمُهُۥٓ أَحْمَدُ ۖ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ قَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
وَإِذْ
wa-idh
And when
قَالَ
qāla
said
عِيسَى
ʿīsā
Isa
ٱبْنُ
ub'nu
son
مَرْيَمَ
maryama
(of) Maryam
يَـٰبَنِىٓ
yābanī
O Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla
(of) Israel
إِنِّى
innī
Indeed, I am
رَسُولُ
rasūlu
(the) Messenger
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
إِلَيْكُم
ilaykum
to you
مُّصَدِّقًا
muṣaddiqan
confirming
لِّمَا
limā
that which
بَيْنَ
bayna
(was) between
يَدَىَّ
yadayya
my hands
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ
l-tawrāti
the Taurat
وَمُبَشِّرًۢا
wamubashiran
and bringing glad tidings
بِرَسُولٍ
birasūlin
(of) a Messenger
يَأْتِى
yatī
to come
مِنۢ
min
from
بَعْدِى
baʿdī
after me
ٱسْمُهُۥٓ
us'muhu
whose name (will be)
أَحْمَدُ
aḥmadu
Ahmad
فَلَمَّا
falammā
But when
جَآءَهُم
jāahum
he came to them
بِٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِ
bil-bayināti
with clear proofs
قَالُوا۟
qālū
they said
هَـٰذَا
hādhā
This
سِحْرٌ
siḥ'run
(is) a magic
مُّبِينٌ
mubīnun
clear
And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O Children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allāh to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Aḥmad."1 But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic."2

61:7
Ayah 61:7
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلْكَذِبَ وَهُوَ يُدْعَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلْإِسْلَـٰمِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِى ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
وَمَنْ
waman
And who
أَظْلَمُ
aẓlamu
(is) more wrong
مِمَّنِ
mimmani
than (one) who
ٱفْتَرَىٰ
if'tarā
invents
عَلَى
ʿalā
upon
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
ٱلْكَذِبَ
l-kadhiba
the lie
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
while he
يُدْعَىٰٓ
yud'ʿā
is invited
إِلَى
ilā
to
ٱلْإِسْلَـٰمِ
l-is'lāmi
Islam
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
And Allah
لَا
(does) not
يَهْدِى
yahdī
guide
ٱلْقَوْمَ
l-qawma
the people
ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīna
[the] wrongdoers
And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allāh untruth while he is being invited to Islām. And Allāh does not guide the wrongdoing people.

61:8
Ayah 61:8
يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِـُٔوا۟ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِۦ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
يُرِيدُونَ
yurīdūna
They intend
لِيُطْفِـُٔوا۟
liyuṭ'fiū
to put out
نُورَ
nūra
(the) light
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
بِأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ
bi-afwāhihim
with their mouths
وَٱللَّهُ
wal-lahu
but Allah
مُتِمُّ
mutimmu
will perfect
نُورِهِۦ
nūrihi
His Light
وَلَوْ
walaw
although
كَرِهَ
kariha
dislike
ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ
l-kāfirūna
the disbelievers
They want to extinguish the light of Allāh with their mouths, but Allāh will perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.

61:9
Ayah 61:9
هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُۥ بِٱلْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ ٱلْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُۥ عَلَى ٱلدِّينِ كُلِّهِۦ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ ٱلْمُشْرِكُونَ
هُوَ
huwa
He
ٱلَّذِىٓ
alladhī
(is) the One Who
أَرْسَلَ
arsala
sent
رَسُولَهُۥ
rasūlahu
His Messenger
بِٱلْهُدَىٰ
bil-hudā
with guidance
وَدِينِ
wadīni
and (the) religion
ٱلْحَقِّ
l-ḥaqi
(of) the truth
لِيُظْهِرَهُۥ
liyuẓ'hirahu
to make it prevail
عَلَى
ʿalā
over
ٱلدِّينِ
l-dīni
the religion
كُلِّهِۦ
kullihi
all of them
وَلَوْ
walaw
although
كَرِهَ
kariha
dislike (it)
ٱلْمُشْرِكُونَ
l-mush'rikūna
the polytheists
It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although those who associate others with Allāh dislike it.

61:10
Ayah 61:10
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ تِجَـٰرَةٍ تُنجِيكُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا
yāayyuhā
O
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
(you) who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
هَلْ
hal
Shall
أَدُلُّكُمْ
adullukum
I guide you
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
to
تِجَـٰرَةٍ
tijāratin
a transaction
تُنجِيكُم
tunjīkum
(that) will save you
مِّنْ
min
from
عَذَابٍ
ʿadhābin
a punishment
أَلِيمٍ
alīmin
painful
O you who have believed, shall I guide you to a transaction that will save you from a painful punishment?

61:11
Ayah 61:11
تُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتُجَـٰهِدُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِأَمْوَٰلِكُمْ وَأَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
تُؤْمِنُونَ
tu'minūna
Believe
بِٱللَّهِ
bil-lahi
in Allah
وَرَسُولِهِۦ
warasūlihi
and His Messenger
وَتُجَـٰهِدُونَ
watujāhidūna
and strive
فِى
in
سَبِيلِ
sabīli
(the) way
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
بِأَمْوَٰلِكُمْ
bi-amwālikum
with your wealth
وَأَنفُسِكُمْ
wa-anfusikum
and your lives
ذَٰلِكُمْ
dhālikum
That
خَيْرٌ
khayrun
(is) better
لَّكُمْ
lakum
for you
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you
تَعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūna
know
[It is that] you believe in Allāh and His Messenger and strive in the cause of Allāh with your wealth and your lives. That is best for you, if you only knew.

61:12
Ayah 61:12
يَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ وَمَسَـٰكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِى جَنَّـٰتِ عَدْنٍ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
يَغْفِرْ
yaghfir
He will forgive
لَكُمْ
lakum
for you
ذُنُوبَكُمْ
dhunūbakum
your sins
وَيُدْخِلْكُمْ
wayud'khil'kum
and admit you
جَنَّـٰتٍ
jannātin
(in) Gardens
تَجْرِى
tajrī
flow
مِن
min
from
تَحْتِهَا
taḥtihā
underneath it
ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ
l-anhāru
the rivers
وَمَسَـٰكِنَ
wamasākina
and dwellings
طَيِّبَةً
ṭayyibatan
pleasant
فِى
in
جَنَّـٰتِ
jannāti
Gardens
عَدْنٍ
ʿadnin
(of) Eternity
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
That
ٱلْفَوْزُ
l-fawzu
(is) the success
ٱلْعَظِيمُ
l-ʿaẓīmu
the great
He will forgive for you your sins and admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow and pleasant dwellings in gardens of perpetual residence. That is the great attainment.

61:13
Ayah 61:13
وَأُخْرَىٰ تُحِبُّونَهَا ۖ نَصْرٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَتْحٌ قَرِيبٌ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
وَأُخْرَىٰ
wa-ukh'rā
And another
تُحِبُّونَهَا
tuḥibbūnahā
that you love
نَصْرٌ
naṣrun
a help
مِّنَ
mina
from
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
وَفَتْحٌ
wafatḥun
and a victory
قَرِيبٌ
qarībun
near
وَبَشِّرِ
wabashiri
and give glad tidings
ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīna
(to) the believers
And [you will obtain] another [favor] that you love - victory from Allāh and an imminent conquest; and give good tidings to the believers.

61:14
Ayah 61:14
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ كُونُوٓا۟ أَنصَارَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَا قَالَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ لِلْحَوَارِيِّـۧنَ مَنْ أَنصَارِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ قَالَ ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ ٱللَّهِ ۖ فَـَٔامَنَت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنۢ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَكَفَرَت طَّآئِفَةٌ ۖ فَأَيَّدْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ عَلَىٰ عَدُوِّهِمْ فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ ظَـٰهِرِينَ
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا

O you
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believe
كُونُوٓا۟
kūnū
Be
أَنصَارَ
anṣāra
helpers
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
كَمَا
kamā
as
قَالَ
qāla
said
عِيسَى
ʿīsā
Isa
ٱبْنُ
ub'nu
son
مَرْيَمَ
maryama
(of) Maryam
لِلْحَوَارِيِّـۧنَ
lil'ḥawāriyyīna
to the disciples
مَنْ
man
Who
أَنصَارِىٓ
anṣārī
(are) my helpers
إِلَى
ilā
for
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
Allah
قَالَ
qāla
Said
ٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَ
l-ḥawāriyūna
the disciples
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
We
أَنصَارُ
anṣāru
(are) the helpers
ٱللَّهِ
l-lahi
(of) Allah
فَـَٔامَنَت
faāmanat
Then believed
طَّآئِفَةٌ
ṭāifatun
a group
مِّنۢ
min
of
بَنِىٓ
banī
Children
إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
is'rāīla
(of) Israel
وَكَفَرَت
wakafarat
and disbelieved
طَّآئِفَةٌ
ṭāifatun
a group
فَأَيَّدْنَا
fa-ayyadnā
So We supported
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
ءَامَنُوا۟
āmanū
believed
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
against
عَدُوِّهِمْ
ʿaduwwihim
their enemy
فَأَصْبَحُوا۟
fa-aṣbaḥū
and they became
ظَـٰهِرِينَ
ẓāhirīna
dominant
O you who have believed, be supporters of Allāh, as when Jesus, the son of Mary, said to the disciples, "Who are my supporters for Allāh?" The disciples said, "We are supporters of Allāh." And a faction of the Children of Israel believed and a faction disbelieved. So We supported those who believed against their enemy, and they became dominant.
