68:1
Ayah 68:1
نٓ ۚ وَٱلْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ
نٓ
noon
Nun
وَٱلْقَلَمِ
wal-qalami
By the pen
وَمَا
wamā
and what
يَسْطُرُونَ
yasṭurūna
they write
Nūn.1 By the pen and what they inscribe,

68:2
Ayah 68:2
مَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ
مَآ
Not
أَنتَ
anta
you (are)
بِنِعْمَةِ
biniʿ'mati
by (the) Grace
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
بِمَجْنُونٍ
bimajnūnin
a madman
You are not, [O Muḥammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman.

68:3
Ayah 68:3
وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
لَكَ
laka
for you
لَأَجْرًا
la-ajran
surely (is) a reward
غَيْرَ
ghayra
without
مَمْنُونٍ
mamnūnin
end
And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted.

68:4
Ayah 68:4
وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ
وَإِنَّكَ
wa-innaka
And indeed, you
لَعَلَىٰ
laʿalā
surely (are)
خُلُقٍ
khuluqin
(of) a moral character
عَظِيمٍ
ʿaẓīmin
great
And indeed, you are of a great moral character.

68:5
Ayah 68:5
فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ
فَسَتُبْصِرُ
fasatub'ṣiru
So you will see
وَيُبْصِرُونَ
wayub'ṣirūna
and they will see
So you will see and they will see.

68:6
Ayah 68:6
بِأَييِّكُمُ ٱلْمَفْتُونُ
بِأَييِّكُمُ
bi-ayyikumu
Which of you
ٱلْمَفْتُونُ
l-maftūnu
(is) the afflicted one
Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil].

68:7
Ayah 68:7
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
رَبَّكَ
rabbaka
your Lord
هُوَ
huwa
He
أَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu
(is) most knowing
بِمَن
biman
of (he) who
ضَلَّ
ḍalla
has strayed
عَن
ʿan
from
سَبِيلِهِۦ
sabīlihi
His way
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
and He
أَعْلَمُ
aʿlamu
(is) most knowing
بِٱلْمُهْتَدِينَ
bil-muh'tadīna
of the guided ones
Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.

68:8
Ayah 68:8
فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
فَلَا
falā
So (do) not
تُطِعِ
tuṭiʿi
obey
ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
l-mukadhibīna
the deniers
Then do not obey the deniers.

68:9
Ayah 68:9
وَدُّوا۟ لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَ
وَدُّوا۟
waddū
They wish
لَوْ
law
that
تُدْهِنُ
tud'hinu
you should compromise
فَيُدْهِنُونَ
fayud'hinūna
so they would compromise
They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you].

68:10
Ayah 68:10
وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِينٍ
وَلَا
walā
And (do) not
تُطِعْ
tuṭiʿ
obey
كُلَّ
kulla
every
حَلَّافٍ
ḥallāfin
habitual swearer
مَّهِينٍ
mahīnin
worthless
And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer

68:11
Ayah 68:11
هَمَّازٍ مَّشَّآءٍۭ بِنَمِيمٍ
هَمَّازٍ
hammāzin
Defamer
مَّشَّآءٍۭ
mashāin
going about
بِنَمِيمٍ
binamīmin
with malicious gossip
[And] scorner, going about with malicious gossip -

68:12
Ayah 68:12
مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ
مَّنَّاعٍ
mannāʿin
A preventer
لِّلْخَيْرِ
lil'khayri
of (the) good
مُعْتَدٍ
muʿ'tadin
transgressor
أَثِيمٍ
athīmin
sinful
A preventer of good, transgressing and sinful,

68:13
Ayah 68:13
عُتُلٍّۭ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ زَنِيمٍ
عُتُلٍّۭ
ʿutullin
Cruel
بَعْدَ
baʿda
after
ذَٰلِكَ
dhālika
(all) that
زَنِيمٍ
zanīmin
utterly useless
Cruel, moreover, and an illegitimate pretender.1

68:14
Ayah 68:14
أَن كَانَ ذَا مَالٍ وَبَنِينَ
أَن
an
Because
كَانَ
kāna
(he) is
ذَا
dhā
a possessor
مَالٍ
mālin
(of) wealth
وَبَنِينَ
wabanīna
and children
Because he is a possessor of wealth and children,

68:15
Ayah 68:15
إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَـٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
إِذَا
idhā
When
تُتْلَىٰ
tut'lā
are recited
عَلَيْهِ
ʿalayhi
to him
ءَايَـٰتُنَا
āyātunā
Our Verses
قَالَ
qāla
he says
أَسَـٰطِيرُ
asāṭīru
Stories
ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
l-awalīna
(of) the former (people)
When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples."

68:16
Ayah 68:16
سَنَسِمُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلْخُرْطُومِ
سَنَسِمُهُۥ
sanasimuhu
We will brand him
عَلَى
ʿalā
on
ٱلْخُرْطُومِ
l-khur'ṭūmi
the snout
We will brand him upon the snout.1

68:17
Ayah 68:17
إِنَّا بَلَوْنَـٰهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَآ أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا۟ لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, We
بَلَوْنَـٰهُمْ
balawnāhum
have tried them
كَمَا
kamā
as
بَلَوْنَآ
balawnā
We tried
أَصْحَـٰبَ
aṣḥāba
(the) companions
ٱلْجَنَّةِ
l-janati
(of) the garden
إِذْ
idh
when
أَقْسَمُوا۟
aqsamū
they swore
لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا
layaṣrimunnahā
to pluck its fruit
مُصْبِحِينَ
muṣ'biḥīna
(in the) morning
Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning

68:18
Ayah 68:18
وَلَا يَسْتَثْنُونَ
وَلَا
walā
And not
يَسْتَثْنُونَ
yastathnūna
making exception
Without making exception.1

68:19
Ayah 68:19
فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَآئِفٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَآئِمُونَ
فَطَافَ
faṭāfa
So there came
عَلَيْهَا
ʿalayhā
upon it
طَآئِفٌ
ṭāifun
a visitation
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّكَ
rabbika
your Lord
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
نَآئِمُونَ
nāimūna
were asleep
So there came upon it [i.e., the garden] an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep.

68:20
Ayah 68:20
فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَٱلصَّرِيمِ
فَأَصْبَحَتْ
fa-aṣbaḥat
So it became
كَٱلصَّرِيمِ
kal-ṣarīmi
as if reaped
And it became as though reaped.

68:21
Ayah 68:21
فَتَنَادَوْا۟ مُصْبِحِينَ
فَتَنَادَوْا۟
fatanādaw
And they called one another
مُصْبِحِينَ
muṣ'biḥīna
(at) morning
And they called one another at morning,

68:22
Ayah 68:22
أَنِ ٱغْدُوا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْثِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰرِمِينَ
أَنِ
ani
That
ٱغْدُوا۟
igh'dū
Go early
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
to
حَرْثِكُمْ
ḥarthikum
your crop
إِن
in
if
كُنتُمْ
kuntum
you would
صَـٰرِمِينَ
ṣārimīna
pluck (the) fruit
[Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit."

68:23
Ayah 68:23
فَٱنطَلَقُوا۟ وَهُمْ يَتَخَـٰفَتُونَ
فَٱنطَلَقُوا۟
fa-inṭalaqū
So they went
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
يَتَخَـٰفَتُونَ
yatakhāfatūna
lowered (their) voices
So they set out, while lowering their voices,

68:24
Ayah 68:24
أَن لَّا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُم مِّسْكِينٌ
أَن
an
That
لَّا
Not
يَدْخُلَنَّهَا
yadkhulannahā
will enter it
ٱلْيَوْمَ
l-yawma
today
عَلَيْكُم
ʿalaykum
upon you
مِّسْكِينٌ
mis'kīnun
any poor person
[Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person."

68:25
Ayah 68:25
وَغَدَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ حَرْدٍ قَـٰدِرِينَ
وَغَدَوْا۟
waghadaw
And they went early
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
with
حَرْدٍ
ḥardin
determination
قَـٰدِرِينَ
qādirīna
able
And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able.1

68:26
Ayah 68:26
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهَا قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا لَضَآلُّونَ
فَلَمَّا
falammā
But when
رَأَوْهَا
ra-awhā
they saw it
قَالُوٓا۟
qālū
they said
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
لَضَآلُّونَ
laḍāllūna
(are) surely lost
But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost;

68:27
Ayah 68:27
بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ
بَلْ
bal
Nay
نَحْنُ
naḥnu
We
مَحْرُومُونَ
maḥrūmūna
(are) deprived
Rather, we have been deprived."

68:28
Ayah 68:28
قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ
قَالَ
qāla
Said
أَوْسَطُهُمْ
awsaṭuhum
(the) most moderate of them
أَلَمْ
alam
Did not
أَقُل
aqul
I tell
لَّكُمْ
lakum
you
لَوْلَا
lawlā
'Why not
تُسَبِّحُونَ
tusabbiḥūna
you glorify (Allah)?'
The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allāh]?'"1

68:29
Ayah 68:29
قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَـٰنَ رَبِّنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
سُبْحَـٰنَ
sub'ḥāna
Glory be
رَبِّنَآ
rabbinā
(to) our Lord
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
كُنَّا
kunnā
[we] were
ظَـٰلِمِينَ
ẓālimīna
wrongdoers
They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers."

68:30
Ayah 68:30
فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَلَـٰوَمُونَ
فَأَقْبَلَ
fa-aqbala
Then approached
بَعْضُهُمْ
baʿḍuhum
some of them
عَلَىٰ
ʿalā
to
بَعْضٍ
baʿḍin
others
يَتَلَـٰوَمُونَ
yatalāwamūna
blaming each other
Then they approached one another, blaming each other.

68:31
Ayah 68:31
قَالُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا طَـٰغِينَ
قَالُوا۟
qālū
They said
يَـٰوَيْلَنَآ
yāwaylanā
O woe to us
إِنَّا
innā
Indeed, we
كُنَّا
kunnā
[we] were
طَـٰغِينَ
ṭāghīna
transgressors
They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.

68:32
Ayah 68:32
عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَآ أَن يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْرًا مِّنْهَآ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَٰغِبُونَ
عَسَىٰ
ʿasā
Perhaps
رَبُّنَآ
rabbunā
our Lord
أَن
an
[that]
يُبْدِلَنَا
yub'dilanā
will substitute for us
خَيْرًا
khayran
a better
مِّنْهَآ
min'hā
than it
إِنَّآ
innā
Indeed, we
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
رَبِّنَا
rabbinā
our Lord
رَٰغِبُونَ
rāghibūna
turn devoutly
Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous."1

68:33
Ayah 68:33
كَذَٰلِكَ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا۟ يَعْلَمُونَ
كَذَٰلِكَ
kadhālika
Such
ٱلْعَذَابُ
l-ʿadhābu
(is) the punishment
وَلَعَذَابُ
walaʿadhābu
And surely the punishment
ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ
l-ākhirati
(of) the Hereafter
أَكْبَرُ
akbaru
(is) greater
لَوْ
law
if
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūna
know
Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew.

68:34
Ayah 68:34
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
lil'muttaqīna
for the righteous
عِندَ
ʿinda
with
رَبِّهِمْ
rabbihim
their Lord
جَنَّـٰتِ
jannāti
(are) Gardens
ٱلنَّعِيمِ
l-naʿīmi
(of) Delight
Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure.

68:35
Ayah 68:35
أَفَنَجْعَلُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ كَٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
أَفَنَجْعَلُ
afanajʿalu
Then will We treat
ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
l-mus'limīna
the Muslims
كَٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
kal-muj'rimīna
like the criminals
Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals?

68:36
Ayah 68:36
مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ
مَا
What
لَكُمْ
lakum
(is) for you
كَيْفَ
kayfa
How
تَحْكُمُونَ
taḥkumūna
(do) you judge
What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?

68:37
Ayah 68:37
أَمْ لَكُمْ كِتَـٰبٌ فِيهِ تَدْرُسُونَ
أَمْ
am
Or
لَكُمْ
lakum
(is) for you
كِتَـٰبٌ
kitābun
a book
فِيهِ
fīhi
wherein
تَدْرُسُونَ
tadrusūna
you learn
Or do you have a scripture in which you learn

68:38
Ayah 68:38
إِنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهِ لَمَا تَخَيَّرُونَ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
لَكُمْ
lakum
for you
فِيهِ
fīhi
in it
لَمَا
lamā
what
تَخَيَّرُونَ
takhayyarūna
you choose
That indeed for you is whatever you choose?

68:39
Ayah 68:39
أَمْ لَكُمْ أَيْمَـٰنٌ عَلَيْنَا بَـٰلِغَةٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۙ إِنَّ لَكُمْ لَمَا تَحْكُمُونَ
أَمْ
am
Or
لَكُمْ
lakum
for you
أَيْمَـٰنٌ
aymānun
oaths
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynā
from us
بَـٰلِغَةٌ
bālighatun
reaching
إِلَىٰ
ilā
to
يَوْمِ
yawmi
(the) Day
ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
l-qiyāmati
(of) the Resurrection
إِنَّ
inna
indeed
لَكُمْ
lakum
for you
لَمَا
lamā
(is) what
تَحْكُمُونَ
taḥkumūna
you judge
Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge?

68:40
Ayah 68:40
سَلْهُمْ أَيُّهُم بِذَٰلِكَ زَعِيمٌ
سَلْهُمْ
salhum
Ask them
أَيُّهُم
ayyuhum
which of them
بِذَٰلِكَ
bidhālika
for that
زَعِيمٌ
zaʿīmun
(is) responsible
Ask them which of them, for that [claim], is responsible.

68:41
Ayah 68:41
أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَآءُ فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَـٰدِقِينَ
أَمْ
am
Or
لَهُمْ
lahum
(are) for them
شُرَكَآءُ
shurakāu
partners
فَلْيَأْتُوا۟
falyatū
Then let them bring
بِشُرَكَآئِهِمْ
bishurakāihim
their partners
إِن
in
if
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they are
صَـٰدِقِينَ
ṣādiqīna
truthful
Or do they have partners?1 Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful.

68:42
Ayah 68:42
يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَن سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
يَوْمَ
yawma
(The) Day
يُكْشَفُ
yuk'shafu
will be uncovered
عَن
ʿan
from
سَاقٍ
sāqin
the shin
وَيُدْعَوْنَ
wayud'ʿawna
and they will be called
إِلَى
ilā
to
ٱلسُّجُودِ
l-sujūdi
prostrate
فَلَا
falā
but not
يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
yastaṭīʿūna
they will be able
The Day the shin will be uncovered1 and they are invited to prostration but they [i.e., the disbelievers] will not be able,

68:43
Ayah 68:43
خَـٰشِعَةً أَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ۖ وَقَدْ كَانُوا۟ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى ٱلسُّجُودِ وَهُمْ سَـٰلِمُونَ
خَـٰشِعَةً
khāshiʿatan
Humbled
أَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ
abṣāruhum
their eyes
تَرْهَقُهُمْ
tarhaquhum
will cover them
ذِلَّةٌ
dhillatun
humiliation
وَقَدْ
waqad
And indeed
كَانُوا۟
kānū
they were
يُدْعَوْنَ
yud'ʿawna
called
إِلَى
ilā
to
ٱلسُّجُودِ
l-sujūdi
prostrate
وَهُمْ
wahum
while they
سَـٰلِمُونَ
sālimūna
(were) sound
Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound.1

68:44
Ayah 68:44
فَذَرْنِى وَمَن يُكَذِّبُ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ ۖ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
فَذَرْنِى
fadharnī
So leave Me
وَمَن
waman
and whoever
يُكَذِّبُ
yukadhibu
denies
بِهَـٰذَا
bihādhā
this
ٱلْحَدِيثِ
l-ḥadīthi
Statement
سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم
sanastadrijuhum
We will progressively lead them
مِّنْ
min
from
حَيْثُ
ḥaythu
where
لَا
not
يَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūna
they know
So leave Me, [O Muḥammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies this statement [i.e., the Qur’ān]. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know.1

68:45
Ayah 68:45
وَأُمْلِى لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ كَيْدِى مَتِينٌ
وَأُمْلِى
wa-um'lī
And I will give respite
لَهُمْ
lahum
to them
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
كَيْدِى
kaydī
My plan
مَتِينٌ
matīnun
(is) firm
And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm.

68:46
Ayah 68:46
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ
أَمْ
am
Or
تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ
tasaluhum
you ask them
أَجْرًا
ajran
a payment
فَهُم
fahum
so they
مِّن
min
from
مَّغْرَمٍ
maghramin
(the) debt
مُّثْقَلُونَ
muth'qalūna
(are) burdened
Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?

68:47
Ayah 68:47
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
أَمْ
am
Or
عِندَهُمُ
ʿindahumu
(is) with them
ٱلْغَيْبُ
l-ghaybu
the unseen
فَهُمْ
fahum
so they
يَكْتُبُونَ
yaktubūna
write it
Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?

68:48
Ayah 68:48
فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُن كَصَاحِبِ ٱلْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌ
فَٱصْبِرْ
fa-iṣ'bir
So be patient
لِحُكْمِ
liḥuk'mi
for (the) decision
رَبِّكَ
rabbika
(of) your Lord
وَلَا
walā
and (do) not
تَكُن
takun
be
كَصَاحِبِ
kaṣāḥibi
like (the) companion
ٱلْحُوتِ
l-ḥūti
(of) the fish
إِذْ
idh
when
نَادَىٰ
nādā
he called out
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
while he
مَكْظُومٌ
makẓūmun
(was) distressed
Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muḥammad], and be not like the companion of the fish [i.e., Jonah] when he called out while he was distressed.

68:49
Ayah 68:49
لَّوْلَآ أَن تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ نِعْمَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ لَنُبِذَ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ مَذْمُومٌ
لَّوْلَآ
lawlā
If not
أَن
an
that
تَدَٰرَكَهُۥ
tadārakahu
overtook him
نِعْمَةٌ
niʿ'matun
a Favor
مِّن
min
from
رَّبِّهِۦ
rabbihi
his Lord
لَنُبِذَ
lanubidha
surely he would have been thrown
بِٱلْعَرَآءِ
bil-ʿarāi
onto (the) naked shore
وَهُوَ
wahuwa
while he
مَذْمُومٌ
madhmūmun
(was) blamed
If not that a favor [i.e., mercy] from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured.1

68:50
Ayah 68:50
فَٱجْتَبَـٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَجَعَلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
فَٱجْتَبَـٰهُ
fa-ij'tabāhu
But chose him
رَبُّهُۥ
rabbuhu
his Lord
فَجَعَلَهُۥ
fajaʿalahu
and made him
مِنَ
mina
of
ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
l-ṣāliḥīna
the righteous
And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous.

68:51
Ayah 68:51
وَإِن يَكَادُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَـٰرِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَمَجْنُونٌ
وَإِن
wa-in
And indeed
يَكَادُ
yakādu
would almost
ٱلَّذِينَ
alladhīna
those who
كَفَرُوا۟
kafarū
disbelieve
لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ
layuz'liqūnaka
surely make you slip
بِأَبْصَـٰرِهِمْ
bi-abṣārihim
with their look
لَمَّا
lammā
when
سَمِعُوا۟
samiʿū
they hear
ٱلذِّكْرَ
l-dhik'ra
the Message
وَيَقُولُونَ
wayaqūlūna
and they say
إِنَّهُۥ
innahu
Indeed, he
لَمَجْنُونٌ
lamajnūnun
(is) surely mad
And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes [i.e., looks] when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad."

68:52
Ayah 68:52
وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
هُوَ
huwa
it (is)
إِلَّا
illā
but
ذِكْرٌ
dhik'run
a Reminder
لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
lil'ʿālamīna
to the worlds
But it is not except a reminder to the worlds.
