92:1
Ayah 92:1
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ
وَٱلَّيْلِ
wa-al-layli
By the night
إِذَا
idhā
when
يَغْشَىٰ
yaghshā
it covers
By the night when it covers1
— The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab
92:2
Ayah 92:2
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ
وَٱلنَّهَارِ
wal-nahāri
And the day
إِذَا
idhā
when
تَجَلَّىٰ
tajallā
it shines in brightness
And [by] the day when it appears
— The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab
92:3
Ayah 92:3
وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
وَمَا
wamā
And He Who
خَلَقَ
khalaqa
created
ٱلذَّكَرَ
l-dhakara
the male
وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
wal-unthā
and the female
And [by] He who created the male and female,
— The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab
92:4
Ayah 92:4
إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
سَعْيَكُمْ
saʿyakum
your efforts
لَشَتَّىٰ
lashattā
(are) surely diverse
Indeed, your efforts are diverse.

92:5
Ayah 92:5
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ
فَأَمَّا
fa-ammā
Then as for
مَنْ
man
(him) who
أَعْطَىٰ
aʿṭā
gives
وَٱتَّقَىٰ
wa-ittaqā
and fears
As for he who gives and fears Allāh
— The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab
92:6
Ayah 92:6
وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
وَصَدَّقَ
waṣaddaqa
And believes
بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
bil-ḥus'nā
in the best
And believes in the best [reward],
— The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab
92:7
Ayah 92:7
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ
fasanuyassiruhu
Then We will ease him
لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
lil'yus'rā
towards [the] ease
We will ease him toward ease.

92:8
Ayah 92:8
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
وَأَمَّا
wa-ammā
But as for
مَنۢ
man
(him) who
بَخِلَ
bakhila
withholds
وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
wa-is'taghnā
and considers himself free from need
But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need

92:9
Ayah 92:9
وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
وَكَذَّبَ
wakadhaba
And denies
بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
bil-ḥus'nā
the best
And denies the best [reward],
— The Clear Quran, Dr. Mustafa Khattab
92:10
Ayah 92:10
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ
fasanuyassiruhu
Then We will ease him
لِلْعُسْرَىٰ
lil'ʿus'rā
towards [the] difficulty
We will ease him toward difficulty.

92:11
Ayah 92:11
وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
يُغْنِى
yugh'nī
will avail
عَنْهُ
ʿanhu
him
مَالُهُۥٓ
māluhu
his wealth
إِذَا
idhā
when
تَرَدَّىٰٓ
taraddā
he falls
And what will his wealth avail him when he falls?1

92:12
Ayah 92:12
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ
إِنَّ
inna
Indeed
عَلَيْنَا
ʿalaynā
upon Us
لَلْهُدَىٰ
lalhudā
(is) the guidance
Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance.

92:13
Ayah 92:13
وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
وَإِنَّ
wa-inna
And indeed
لَنَا
lanā
for Us
لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
lalākhirata
(is) the Hereafter
وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
wal-ūlā
and the first (life)
And indeed, to us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life].

92:14
Ayah 92:14
فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ
فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ
fa-andhartukum
So I warn you
نَارًا
nāran
(of) a Fire
تَلَظَّىٰ
talaẓẓā
blazing
So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing.

92:15
Ayah 92:15
لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى
لَا
lā
Not
يَصْلَىٰهَآ
yaṣlāhā
will burn (in) it
إِلَّا
illā
except
ٱلْأَشْقَى
l-ashqā
the most wretched
None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one

92:16
Ayah 92:16
ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
The one who
كَذَّبَ
kadhaba
denied
وَتَوَلَّىٰ
watawallā
and turned away
Who had denied and turned away.

92:17
Ayah 92:17
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا
wasayujannabuhā
But will be removed from it
ٱلْأَتْقَى
l-atqā
the righteous
But the righteous one will avoid it

92:18
Ayah 92:18
ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ
ٱلَّذِى
alladhī
The one who
يُؤْتِى
yu'tī
gives
مَالَهُۥ
mālahu
his wealth
يَتَزَكَّىٰ
yatazakkā
(to) purify himself
[He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself

92:19
Ayah 92:19
وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰٓ
وَمَا
wamā
And not
لِأَحَدٍ
li-aḥadin
for anyone
عِندَهُۥ
ʿindahu
with him
مِن
min
any
نِّعْمَةٍ
niʿ'matin
favor
تُجْزَىٰٓ
tuj'zā
to be recompensed
And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded1

92:20
Ayah 92:20
إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
إِلَّا
illā
Except
ٱبْتِغَآءَ
ib'tighāa
seeking
وَجْهِ
wajhi
(the) Countenance
رَبِّهِ
rabbihi
(of) his Lord
ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
l-aʿlā
the Most High
But only seeking the face [i.e., acceptance] of his Lord, Most High.

92:21
Ayah 92:21
وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ
وَلَسَوْفَ
walasawfa
And soon, surely
يَرْضَىٰ
yarḍā
he will be pleased
And he is going to be satisfied.
