97:1
Ayah 97:1
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ
إِنَّآ
innā
Indeed, We
أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ
anzalnāhu
revealed it
فِى
fī
in
لَيْلَةِ
laylati
(the) Night
ٱلْقَدْرِ
l-qadri
(of) Power
Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree.

97:2
Ayah 97:2
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ
وَمَآ
wamā
And what
أَدْرَىٰكَ
adrāka
can make you know
مَا
mā
what
لَيْلَةُ
laylatu
(the) Night
ٱلْقَدْرِ
l-qadri
(of) Power (is)
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?

97:3
Ayah 97:3
لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ
لَيْلَةُ
laylatu
(The) Night
ٱلْقَدْرِ

(of) Power
خَيْرٌ
khayrun
(is) better
مِّنْ
min
than
أَلْفِ
alfi
a thousand
شَهْرٍ
shahrin
month(s)
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

97:4
Ayah 97:4
تَنَزَّلُ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ
تَنَزَّلُ
tanazzalu
Descend
ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ
l-malāikatu
the Angels
وَٱلرُّوحُ
wal-rūḥu
and the Spirit
فِيهَا
fīhā
therein
بِإِذْنِ
bi-idh'ni
by (the) permission
رَبِّهِم
rabbihim
(of) their Lord
مِّن
min
for
كُلِّ
kulli
every
أَمْرٍ
amrin
affair
The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.1

97:5
Ayah 97:5
سَلَـٰمٌ هِىَ حَتَّىٰ مَطْلَعِ ٱلْفَجْرِ
سَلَـٰمٌ
salāmun
Peace
هِىَ
hiya
it (is)
حَتَّىٰ
ḥattā
until
مَطْلَعِ
maṭlaʿi
(the) emergence
ٱلْفَجْرِ
l-fajri
(of) the dawn
Peace it is1 until the emergence of dawn.
